Egyptian Championship: Kahraba was suspended for 12 matches and fined one million pounds for insulting chants against Zamalek

The head of the Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Football Association , Izzat Khamis Al-Ahly, officially notified him of suspending his attacker, Mahmoud Abdel Moneim “Kahraba”, for 12 matches, and fining him one million pounds, to be paid within a month, on the background of the Zamalek club’s complaint against him due to offensive chants towards his fans after the El Clasico in the fourteenth stage in January. last January.

The Disciplinary Committee also decided to punish the president of Zamalek Club, Mortada Mansour, by preventing him from attending any matches for a period of two months and fining him 300,000 pounds, in response to the Al-Ahly club’s complaint against him because of the insulting statements to Kahraba and Al-Ahly Club.

"Kahraba was suspended for 12 matches, and it is natural that the Grievance Committee is not aware of the decision, because the aggrieved party has not submitted any appeal so far," the head of the Disciplinary Committee said in a press statement.

He added, "In the affected Egyptian law, he submits a grievance against the decision as soon as he is informed of it within 10 days from the date of the decision's issuance, and in the event of an appeal against the decision, the penalty remains valid until the matter is decided and an official decision is issued, whether to reduce the penalty, keep it as it is, or cancel it."

He stressed that the decision to stop Kahraba prevents him from playing the local Super Cup match that will be held on the fifth of next May in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, and any match organized by the Egyptian Football Association.

The head of the Grievances Committee, Adel Al-Shorbagy, announced on Monday in televised statements that the committee had not yet received any decision from the Egyptian Football Association regarding stopping Kahraba.

He added that if a decision to suspend the player is reached, the latter has the right to complain, and at that time the implementation of the suspension decision will be stopped until the grievance is decided.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Al-Ahly’s board of directors will hold an emergency meeting to respond to Kahraba’s punishment, and news from within the club indicated that there is a tendency to take a decision to withdraw from the local super match against Zamalek.

Al-Ahly’s deputy president, Al-Amri Farouk, said in radio statements on Tuesday, “The management of his club has officially received a notification from the Egyptian Federation regarding the penalties of the Disciplinary Committee, and there are ongoing meetings at the present time to discuss this decision, and there is an official meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, for the board of directors, and we will study the file well with all developments.”

Regarding the withdrawal from the local super match, he said, "We are carefully studying all the files and the possibilities and dealing according to what we see fit in the interest of Al-Ahly, and we will announce the decision at the appropriate time."

For his part, Walid Al-Attar, Executive Director of the Egyptian Federation, said that the Disciplinary Committee sent on Tuesday morning an official letter to the Egyptian Federation with closed envelopes bearing the penalties regarding Al-Ahly and Zamalek’s complaints, following the events of the two teams’ meeting in the Egyptian League.

He added, "The decisions were as they were leaked through social media, but we waited for the official letter to arrive and did not comment on the matter in the first place because it did not reach us during the past days, and in turn we sent the penalties to Al-Ahly and Zamalek, and they have the right to appeal within 10 days."
Al-Attar criticized the leaking of penalties from the Disciplinary Committee before notifying the Egyptian Federation officially, stressing that this incident should not be repeated.
On the other hand, Smouha Club submitted an official complaint to the Football Association regarding Kahraba’s participation in their match on Monday, despite his suspension, and demanded the three match points.
Al-Ahly defeated Smouha 2-0 in the twenty-sixth stage, scored by Mohamed Sharif and Kahraba.
