Services Nuseirat champion of the Palestinian Super Cup handball
Gaza - "Jerusalem" dot com - Ahmad Al-Masharawi - Khadamat Al-Nuseirat Club was crowned the Palestinian Super Cup for the first time in its history, by defeating Azzun Club , the champion of West Bank clubs, in the aggregate of the two matches, with a single goal difference, as a result of 56-55, in the return match that ended in favor of Azzun, with a score of 28-24 between the two teams, at Azzun’s home stadium at Saad Sail Hall in Gaza, sponsored by Jawwal. Azzun needed to win by 5 goals from its rival, Nuseirat, to win the title.
The match and coronation were attended by many legal, official and sports personalities, led by Abdul Salam Haniyeh, Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council, Jamal Abu Youssef, President of the Handball Federation, Riyad Salim, President of Azzun Club, Iyad Kulab, President of Nusseirat Services Club, and Iyad Al Maghari, Mayor of Nusseirat Municipality.
And a large crowd of fans who gathered above and outside the hall stands and in front of the gates, which prompted the organizers to put an outdoor screen in front of the fans to follow the match and the coronation.
Khidmat al-Nuseirat won the first-leg match, 32-27, last Thursday in the same hall, where the Handball Federation decided to hold the two matches despite the Israeli army’s ban on 9 Azzun players, which forced it to seek the assistance of three players from Al-Salah Al-Ghazi Association, namely: goalkeeper Wael Al-Hajj. , and Bilal Al-Sabah, and Abdullah Al-Sabah in the upcoming home and away matches, and in a similar step by the Israeli occupation, a number of other Nuseirat services players were prevented from entering the West Bank, which prompted the sports authorities to hold the two matches in the Gaza Strip.
After the referee blew his whistle, the grounds of the hall and the stands turned yellow, the color of the Nuseirat shirts, and the masses entered celebrating the coronation, carrying the team coach and the team players on their necks, and roaming the sides of the stadium, amidst cheers praising the performance of the team and its players, leading to the coronation podium, amid sounding horns. The flutes, the waving of team flags, and the joys carried on buses continued into the evening hours.
The match was strong since its inception in terms of leading the attacks and shooting from outside the area, and Nuseirat advanced until the fourth goal through the distinguished Abdul Qadir Al-Ghussain and Abdulaziz Musleh, while Azzun emerged in a calm and more focused way, to enable him to tie 4-4, through his distinguished star Osaid Jawabreh, and with him Amir Sawalha, and Ahmed Athamneh.
The half remained on its strong start between the two teams, who presented a high technical performance and a distinguished level befitting the Palestine Super Final, to tie again 7-7. Nuseirat counterattacked through Al-Ghoussein, Musleh and Islam Abu Dalal, so the first half ended with Azzoun advancing, with a score of 11-14.
In the second half, Azzun took control of the match, and led attacks from both sides and the depth with the launch of Al-Sawalha, Jawabreh and Ahmed Radwan, with his intention to come out winning the half and make the difference with the first match, and Nuseirat responded, who tended to play defensively, and changed his goalkeeper Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh to reduce the danger of his opponent and emerge victorious on aggregate. And the match remained a record, and the progress was in favor of Azzun by scoring goals, and this appeared in the results 15-11, 17-14, 20-15, 23-19, 24-22, 26-22, 27-23, and Ahmed Abu Naji emerged in the reduction of the Nuseirat, In the midst of Azzun’s keenness to advance and increase the difference, the second half ended with a score of 28-24 in favor of Azzun, and Khidmat al-Nuseirat won the title on aggregate in the two matches, and was crowned with the title.
