The President of the Palestinian Sailing and Rowing Federation expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the Sultanate of Oman for hosting the Arab Sailing Championship, stressing that this championship is an important opportunity for the Palestinian team to develop its capabilities, especially since it is participating for the first time in this championship, and that it constitutes an important platform for all participating sailors from various Arab countries. To show their potential and abilities in the sport of sailing.

Khaldoun Abu Salim confirmed that the federation will participate for the first time in the Arab Championship for sailing through the emerging Palestinian player Hala Al-Samak, and that they will represent Palestine in the best possible way, despite the lack of capabilities, basic equipment and training halls equipped to conduct the necessary exercises for the team, and the lack of available capabilities due to what the occupation imposes. The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Oman Sail Corporation, announced that it will host the Arab Sailing Championship 2022, which will be held in the Barceló Resort Mussanah from October 11 to 15. The championship is expected to attract professional sailors representing (14) Arab countries to compete across (7) classes of boats. They are: Optimist, Elka 4, Elka 6, Elka 7, RSX windsurfing boats, IQ-Fuel boats, in addition to R.S. Venture boats for people with disabilities.

This year's edition will be attended by (14) Arab countries representing the member states of the Union, namely: Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates.
