Ilhan Omar leads a campaign to boycott Herzog's speech
US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is leading a campaign to increase the number of members of Congress who will boycott Israeli President Isaac Herzog's speech, scheduled for next Wednesday, at a joint session of the House of Representatives and Senate.
Ilhan said that she is seeking to persuade members of Congress to boycott the speech of the Israeli president, which comes two weeks after the crime committed by the occupation forces in the Jenin camp, and after the occupation government acquitted the murderer of martyr Iyad al-Hallaq (who has autism).
She added that many supporters of the Palestinian cause are expected to respond in Congress, with louder voices criticizing the occupation's policies against the Palestinian people.
The occupation authorities had prevented Omar from entering Palestine years ago, accompanied by a member of Congress of Palestinian origin, Rashida Tlaib, on charges of incitement against Israel, as claimed by the occupying state.
