The Civil Defense Authority in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, that about 70 children were killed during the past five days in Israeli bombing of various areas of the Strip.

The Civil Defense said in a brief statement: "About 70 children were martyred during the past five days in Israeli bombing across the Gaza Strip."

Children in the Gaza Strip continue to pay a heavy price for the genocide committed by Israel for the 16th consecutive month.

On January 8, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said that the new year had brought “more death and suffering from attacks, deprivation and increased exposure to cold” for Gaza’s children.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 156,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.

Israel continues its massacres, ignoring two arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court on November 21 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant, for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza.
