IDF reveal identity of soldier killed in Jenin, probing circumstances of death
The Israeli army spokesman said on Wednesday morning that an investigation has been launched to find out the exact circumstances that led to the death of the soldier in Jenin refugee camp on Tuesday night.
In an interview with the public broadcaster Kan radio station, the spokesman Daniel Hajari said that the soldier was killed at the end of the operation in Jenin, during the start of the withdrawal, and it is likely that he was killed by shrapnel when an explosive device exploded. Israeli media had reported that he was killed by a bullet to the chest.
The Israeli army announced that the man that was killed was 23-year-old, David Yehuda Yitzhak, serving with the rank of sergeant-major. He was a resident of the Beit El settlement, built on Palestinian lands in the greater Ramallah area, and he served in the intelligence reconnaissance unit.
