On Monday, the US State Department expressed its deep annoyance with the Israeli government's new settlement decisions, which include building 4,500 units in the West Bank, and approving a change in its construction management by speeding up and approving plans.

Ministry spokesman Matthew Miller called on the Israeli government to fulfill its commitments made in Aqaba in Jordan and Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, and to conduct a dialogue aimed at preventing escalation.

Miller said: The United States opposes these unilateral measures, which are steps that constitute an obstacle to peace and make achieving two states more difficult.
