Twitter is re-launching the new paid subscription service Monday
New York (AFP) - Twitter plans to re-launch a new paid subscription service on Monday, which will be more expensive for users of "Apple" devices and include a system to verify accounts on the platform.
And the official Twitter page tweeted on Saturday, "We will re-launch + Twitter Blue +, which includes a monthly subscription to the site for $ 8, or $ 11 for iOS + systems, and allows users to take advantage of the features designated for subscribers, most notably the blue authentication mark."
The group indicated that the blue tick is obtained by the user after a verification process.
The color of the mark will change to golden for corporate accounts, while later during the week it will become gray for accounts of government institutions.
Subscribers will also have the ability to correct their tweets after they have been posted or to upload better quality videos.
The official Twitter page tweeted, "Thank you for your patience while we strive to make improvements to the +Blu+ service."
Since his acquisition of Twitter at the end of October, Elon Musk has announced his desire to launch a paid formula to diversify the platform's revenues, whose financial position relies heavily on revenue from advertising.
The first version was launched ten days after the multi-activity businessman took over the platform, i.e. the beginning of November, but it caused chaos in the social network with the emergence of a large number of accounts claiming to represent specific personalities or companies.
The service was suspended immediately.
Musk had promised that the service would return to work at the end of November, before announcing a few days later that the project would be postponed indefinitely, until a system was reached to prevent impersonation.
Before Musk's acquisition of Twitter, the platform provided the "blue tick" feature to verify the accounts of organizations and known people for free, and it offered a paid subscription that included additional options.
