Violent confrontations between police and supporters of Palestine in front of the Israeli embassy in the Mexican capital
Six police officers were injured in confrontations with pro-Palestinian demonstrators who threw Molotov cocktails and stones at them during violent night clashes in front of the Israeli embassy in the Mexican capital, Mexico City.
In the Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood, where Mayor Miguel Hidalgo's office is located in Mexico City, police confronted demonstrators who threw Molotov cocktails and set fire to a house located near the Israeli embassy in the capital.
The protesters chanted loudly, “Do not defend the perpetrators of genocide,” and “They kill children.” The police tried to surround them and guard the Israeli embassy facilities, but the confrontation deteriorated and turned from a peaceful demonstration into a violent clash.
The demonstrators also tried to remove the barriers set up by security personnel in an attempt to protect the facilities of the Tel Aviv Embassy, and were exposed to tear gas. Demonstrators responded with attacks using fire cylinders, and the majority of demonstrators were female.
It was reported that 6 policemen were injured during the protest, most of whom suffered burns in various parts of the body, and they were given first aid at the scene.
