Manal Abu Ramadan, Director General of Planning and Projects at the Ministry of Social Development, said that the ministry has been able to provide financial assistance to more than 200,000 families in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.

She explained in a statement to Voice of Palestine Radio, today, Thursday, that the aid was delivered through electronic payment and the electronic wallet in coordination and cooperation with the Monetary Authority.

Abu Ramadan pointed out that the ministry launched a toll-free number to communicate with citizens in addition to filling out forms about their needs in the sector.

She stressed that despite the difficulties, the Ministry is collecting and updating data in the National Social Registry, which contains data on those affected.

Abu Ramadan pointed out that a meeting will be held in the coming days between the ministry and representatives of civil society institutions, especially those concerned with abused women and people with disabilities, in order to coordinate and unify efforts to deliver food and financial aid to them in the Gaza Strip.
