Lebanon recovers the bodies of 5 dead, and Israel continues its violations
The Lebanese authorities announced that search and rescue teams were able to retrieve the bodies of 5 dead people in the town of Khiam, and they were transferred to Marjeyoun Governmental Hospital, while the occupation army continued its violations of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.
The Lebanese News Agency reported that the search operations are scheduled to be completed tomorrow, Monday, as part of the efforts to find all those missing as a result of the recent Israeli aggression, which caused severe damage to lives and property in the town of Khiam.
It was not immediately clear whether Israel killed the five victims before or after the ceasefire.
Since November 27, a fragile ceasefire has prevailed, ending an Israeli aggression on Lebanon that began on October 8, 2023, and turned into a full-scale war on September 23.
Violations continue
Regarding Israeli violations, the Lebanese agency reported that the Israeli army carried out two large bombing operations in the town of Mays al-Jabal in southern Lebanon, and the echoes of the explosion were heard in neighboring villages. The occupation army also cut off the road between the towns of Taybeh and Deir Siryan (south) near the old civil defense center, and then set up a concentration point.
Thus, the Israeli army raised the number of its violations to 333 since the ceasefire went into effect 32 days ago.
Allegedly to counter threats from Hezbollah, these violations resulted in the deaths of 32 people and the injury of 38, according to data from the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
The most prominent provisions of the ceasefire agreement include Israel's gradual withdrawal to the south of the Blue Line separating it from Lebanon within 60 days, and the deployment of Lebanese army and security forces along the border, crossing points, and the southern region.
The Israeli aggression on Lebanon resulted in 4,063 deaths and 16,663 injuries, including a large number of children and women, in addition to the displacement of about 1,400,000 people. Most of the victims and displaced persons were recorded after the escalation of the aggression on September 23.
