Tlaib criticizes attempts to silence her in the US House of Representatives for supporting the children of Gaza
US Representative Rashida Tlaib criticized her colleagues' focus on silencing her voice regarding developments in Gaza, instead of saving Palestinian lives.
This came in a statement issued by US Representative Tlaib, of Palestinian origin, regarding a draft resolution condemning her in the US House of Representatives after she criticized the policies of “Israel” and the policies of US President Joe Biden regarding Gaza.
She said in her statement, “At a time when the death toll in Gaza has exceeded more than 10,000, I feel extremely saddened by my colleagues’ efforts to silence me instead of saving the lives of others.”
She confirmed that many members of the House of Representatives told her that “the lives of the Palestinians are not important to them.”
She pointed out that her colleagues “instead of accepting the ideas and point of view of the only Palestinian-American in the Council, they resorted to distorting her position through blatant lies.”
Yesterday, Monday, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene renewed an attempt to pass a draft resolution condemning Tlaib because of her criticism of the policies of “Israel” and President Biden regarding Gaza.
On November 3, Tlaib published pictures of dead Palestinian children on the “X” platform, and wrote, “President Biden supports genocide against the Palestinian people. The American people will not forget this.”
She added: “Biden, either support the ceasefire now, or trust us (don’t count on us) in the 2024 (elections).”
