Quneitra: Syrians demonstrate against Israeli occupation.. 7 people injured by Israeli army bullets
Today, Wednesday, the Quneitra countryside in southern Syria witnessed an Israeli escalation in which Syrian civilians were shot at, and military incursions took place in several towns, in addition to the occupation’s pressure on local residents to surrender their weapons. These events resulted in civilian casualties, amid a state of tension and anxiety among the residents.
Al-Arabiya TV correspondent reported that 7 people were injured with varying degrees of injuries, when the Israeli occupation forces opened fire on demonstrators in the village of Suwaysa, during protests against the Israeli incursions into the area. Syrian reports also stated that two civilians were injured by the occupation forces’ bullets in the town of Al-Dawiya Al-Kabira.
The occupation threatens the notables of Jabata Al-Khashab
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an Israeli occupation army force summoned dignitaries from the town of Jubata al-Khashab to “hold a meeting” in the town under threat. They demanded that the residents hand over heavy weapons within a maximum period of 48 hours.
Israel explained to the dignitaries that they were responsible for preventing the arrival of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham elements to the area. The dignitaries responded by asking the responsible and active Syrian authorities in the area to make a decision on this matter, to avoid any accusations or treason that might be leveled at them later.
Several towns in the Quneitra countryside, including Suwaysa, Manshiyat Suwaysa, Qasiba, Naimiya, Kodna, and Brega, witnessed Israeli military incursions, as the occupation forces entered these areas supported by machinery and bulldozers, which were met with demonstrations and protests as the Syrians rejected the occupation imposing itself as a fait accompli in the region.
Yesterday, Tuesday, Israeli bulldozers and machinery entered the Mantara Dam area, where Israeli forces established new military points and raised earthen barriers around the dam. The Israeli occupation also penetrated 7 kilometers deep into the buffer zone, and imposed restrictions on the movement of residents in the villages of Umm al-Azam and al-Adnaniyah, by setting specific times for entry and exit.
Installing new military points
Local sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory that the Israeli occupation entered the "Sharat al-Haramoun Heights" last Monday, accompanied by armored vehicles, where a new military point was established on the slopes overlooking the southwestern countryside of Damascus. These movements aim to strengthen Israeli military control over the border areas.
The Syrians expressed their dissatisfaction with the repeated Israeli attacks, calling on the responsible authorities in Syria and the international community to take action to stop the ongoing Israeli violations. They also called for the protection of civilians from attacks and incursions that increase their daily suffering.
