Jenin camp and ambushes... an endless battle with the occupation

Jenin camp in the northern West Bank, especially since the famous battle of April 2002, is still characterized by its fierce resistance to the Israeli occupation forces, through ambushes and intense clashes.

The resistance in Jenin and its camp, with all its formations, put the Israeli political and military level in a state of shock, recently, after the violent resistance it showed after it trapped the occupation army in a tight ambush, which lasted for 8 hours, after detonating a locally manufactured explosive device in the modern “Fahd” vehicle. Signed injuries and damages.

This operation brought back many pictures and stories for the residents of Jenin camp, about previous ambushes that caused casualties among the occupation soldiers, especially in the Battle of April, in which 23 Israeli soldiers were killed.

The scene today is no different from the events of that battle that took place 21 years ago, which began after the occupation failed to abort the second intifada, so that Ariel Sharon sent his soldiers and selected units in Operation Defensive Wall, which targeted the West Bank, and the Jenin camp was its spearhead, but Those units that Sharon replaced 6 times, as the liberated prisoner Mahmoud Al-Saadi, who participated in the fighting and the battle until he was arrested, narrates, faced fierce and violent resistance by the joint operations room that united the resistance factions in the camp, to confront the aggression on the field with heroism, ferocity, daring and courage despite the bombing and destruction And the assassinations that started from the first moment.

Al-Saadi, who was one of the leaders of the Al-Quds Brigades in the battle, and whose family offered many martyrs, believes that despite the occupation committing a massacre in the camp after its destruction and the arrest and assassination of leaders and resistance fighters, it was unable to pass its plans and achieve its goals, indicating that the resistance quickly regained its breath and returned to the arena of confrontation and did not stop Operations and a new chapter in the series of resistance has begun. It went through many stages, but it has now reached a stage that turned the scales and returned the camp to the spearhead in confronting the occupation.

As for the liberated prisoner Jamal Hawail, who fought in the battle of the camp and was one of its leaders and founders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, he expressed his conviction that the recent ambush, which caused a global uproar, proved that the resistance is strong and capable of planning, surprising and luring the occupation.

Hawil asserts that the current stage is going through a different and distinct turning point in the path of resistance and militant action on the land of the camp, which is characterized by the unity of its resistance, the closeness of its ranks, and the insistence on joint fighting with limited and modest capabilities, without diminishing its success and its ability to deal a strong blow after it destroyed the legend of the Israeli "Cheetah" mechanism.

During the recent operation in the Jabriyat neighborhood overlooking the Jenin camp, the occupation forces used large military measures, as has been the norm in the past two years, to try to arrest whoever was believed to be the perpetrator of the recent "Harmish" operation in which a settler was killed, but this force was quickly besieged, after He revealed the infiltration of special units into the area, before violent clashes broke out and explosive devices were used, to start a new confrontation, the extent of which no one expected and what the resistance was preparing at the time.

An eyewitness told Al-Quds.com: "Soon the scene turned, after a loud explosion shook Jenin and reached the nearby neighborhoods. It became clear that the Al-Fahd armored vehicle had fallen into a tight ambush that damaged it and wounded 7 soldiers inside, but the scene did not end at that moment. In the aftermath of what happened, the resistance groups besieged the occupation soldiers, which increased the situation in tension and confusion, especially after the new force that rushed to the aid of the besieged was ambushed, and became trapped between bullets and dozens of local explosives, which forced the occupation to send planes and reinforcements towards the small neighborhood in Jabriyat. ".

It took about 9 hours for the process of evacuating the wounded soldiers and the seven damaged vehicles, which is the same period and more that the occupation needed on the ninth day of the Battle of Jenin camp, to evacuate its soldiers who were killed during the 13th ambush in the Hawashin neighborhood in the center of the camp, in which a number of resistance fighters participated, and the witness recounts Abu Nidal told Al-Quds.com: “On that day, a group of resistance fighters, including Nidal al-Nubani and the two brothers Amjad and Muhammad al-Fayed, stationed themselves in one of the alleys, and set up a triple ambush through which they were able to lure a force from the occupation army towards the neighborhood until they fell into the ambush, and al-Joud was besieged. Between bullets and explosives until they were all killed, forcing the occupation to send another force that clashed with the resistance fighters until the Nubani and the two Al-Fayed brothers were martyred. The number of occupation soldiers who wore them and were killed in the process.

Representative Jamal Huwail, the living witness to the battle, who was arrested on the last day of it, and spent several years in the occupation prisons. He mentions that the unified resistance in the camp planned from the beginning to ambushes and kidnap soldiers in order to exchange them for prisoners and to stand firm in the face of the occupation and protect the camp, and it is believed that one of the most important other ambushes is the evacuation Martyr Mahmoud Tawalbeh to his family's house and booby-trapped it completely, and when the soldiers approached it, it was detonated, before the soldiers who fled were clashed, which led to deaths and injuries among them.

The ambushes confused the calculations of the occupation, especially in light of the huge human losses among the soldiers, which prompted the occupation to change army units, bomb the camp, and send huge American bulldozers that participated in the destruction and massacre, after several ambushes.

Putin accuses Prigozhin of "betraying" Russia and considers Wagner's rebellion a "stab in the back"

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in an extraordinary televised speech on Saturday, considered Wagner's "armed rebellion" a "treason", warning that anyone who takes up arms against the Russian army will be punished. The commander of the paramilitary group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, had announced earlier that he was inside the general headquarters of the army command in the Russian city of Rostov, which is considered a main center of the war on Ukraine, and said that he had taken control of military sites, including an airport, the day after his call for an uprising against the military leadership of his country. Follow live on France 24 the latest developments around the clock.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an extraordinary televised speech on Saturday that the "armed rebellion" of the private military group Wagner was "treason" and that anyone who took up arms against the Russian army would be punished.

Putin added that he would do everything to protect Russia, and that "decisive action" would be taken to stabilize Rostov-on-Don, a southern city where Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said his forces had taken control of all military facilities.

"It's a stab in the back for our country and our people," Putin said. He added, "What we are facing is nothing but treason. A betrayal caused by personal ambitions and interests," for Prigozhin, stressing that the rebels "will inevitably be punished." "We will not let this happen again," he said in an address to the nation, referring to the Russian Civil War after World War I. He added: "Every internal turmoil is a fatal threat to our state and our nation. It is a blow to Russia and our people. Our measures to protect the homeland from such a threat will be resolute."

09:00 Wagner has taken control of military installations in Voronezh, south of Moscow

A Russian security source announced on Saturday that the fighters of the private military group Wagner have taken control of all military facilities in the city of Voronezh, 500 km south of the capital, Moscow.

On Saturday, the Russian authorities imposed an "anti-terror operation regime" in Moscow and its region, according to what the National Anti-Terrorism Committee announced. The committee said in a statement carried by Russian news agencies: "In order to prevent possible attacks," this system was also imposed in the Voronezh region, which borders Ukraine. This measure enhances the powers of the security services and allows them to limit movement.

08:00 The Kremlin: Putin will address the nation "soon"

Russian President Vladimir Putin will address the nation "soon" at a time when the country is witnessing a rebellion by the armed Wagner group, the Kremlin announced Saturday. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies: "Putin will address the nation soon."

07:30 Wagner announces control of the army headquarters in Rostov and military sites

The commander of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, confirmed on Saturday morning that he had entered the general headquarters of the army command in the Russian city of Rostov, which is the main center of the Russian attack on Ukraine, and took control of military sites, including an airport. Prigozhin said in a video clip posted on Telegram: “We are at the general headquarters, it is 7:30 am” (4:30 GMT), adding that “military sites in Rostov are under control, including the airport,” while men in military uniforms were walking behind him. .

Prigozhin also indicated that the military aircraft participating in the Russian attack on Ukraine "take off naturally" from the airport to carry out their "combat missions," stressing that "there is no problem." He added that "the main command point is operating normally," stressing that "large areas of occupied territory in Ukraine" have been lost and that "many soldiers have been killed," accusing the Russian army once again of not telling the truth about the situation on the front.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on Saturday that "anti-terror" measures had been taken in the Russian capital, after the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, vowed to overthrow the military leadership. The authorities of the Rostov regions bordering Ukraine and Lipetsk also announced strict security measures.

And in southern Russia, residents of the Rostov region, which the Wagner Group confirms it has entered, have been invited to stay home. "The security forces are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the residents of the region. I ask everyone to remain calm and not leave homes unless necessary," the region's governor, Vasily Golubev, wrote on Telegram. Later, the authorities called on residents of the city of Rostov, the center of the region, to avoid heading to its center, and posts and photos on the Internet reported the presence of armed men on the outskirts of official buildings.

06:30 Wagner commander says he and his 25,000 members are "prepared to die"

Wagner's commander said he and his group's 25,000 members were "ready to die" for the "motherland" and "liberate the Russian people" from the military hierarchy against which he had declared himself in rebellion.

"We are all ready to die, all 25,000 of us... because we are dying for the homeland, we are dying for the Russian people who must be liberated from those who bomb the civilian population," Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a new audio message on Telegram.

And Prigozhin announced on Saturday night that his forces shot down a Russian military helicopter.

Israel admits its failure to prevent an attack on a Palestinian village

The Israeli army admitted that it had "failed" to prevent an attack by settlers on a Palestinian village in the occupied West Bank, during which a Palestinian was killed and homes, cars and agricultural lands were set on fire.

During this week, the northern West Bank witnessed an escalation that began on Monday with an Israeli military operation in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, killing seven Palestinians, including a young man and a girl, both of whom were fifteen years old.

The Israeli army fired missiles from a helicopter during the operation.

And Tuesday, four settlers were killed when two Palestinian gunmen opened fire on them at a gas station near the Eli settlement. The two Palestinian attackers were killed.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian was killed after being hit by Israeli gunfire in the chest, amid an attack on the village of Turmusaya, north of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, by 200 to 300 settlers.

According to the mayor of the village, they burned about 50 vehicles and set fire to agricultural crops and agricultural lands, and 35 houses were damaged by the burning.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari confirmed that his forces tried to prevent settlers from attacking Turmusaya, but there were not enough soldiers.

"We didn't have enough forces in the first wave in the area they chose... This time we failed," he told reporters.

A delegation of more than 20 diplomatic missions, including those of the European Union and the United States, visited the village on Friday to inspect the damage.

European Union representative Sven Kun von Burgsdorff criticized Israel's failure in its obligations to protect the Palestinians, saying, "It has made no attempt or effort to stop the settlers."

For its part, the Israeli police announced Friday the arrest of three people in connection with the violence, without giving further details.

A large number of Palestinians who hold American citizenship reside in Turmusaya, and residents expressed their anger at Washington's inaction.

Yasser Elkam, 33, said, "I am speaking on behalf of the residents of this peaceful town, where about 80 to 90 percent of the population are American citizens. We carry passports. Does this passport have any value?"

A US official told AFP that Omar Jubara, 25, who was killed on Wednesday, had a permanent US green card.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said that "violence, combined with incendiary rhetoric, only pushes Israelis and Palestinians into the abyss."

The Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, insisted on calling for a large-scale "military operation" in the occupied West Bank.

Ben Gvir, a settler, said, "The elimination of terrorists is not one or two, but tens and hundreds, and if necessary, thousands."

The Palestinian people need international protection, not fiery rhetoric

Jerusalem Hadith

Jerusalem Hadith

Opinion Writer

The blood of the martyrs has not yet dried up in Jenin and its camp, and in the town of Turmusaya, which was invaded by settlers a few days ago under the protection of the occupation forces, so that the extremist Itamar Ben Gvir, the minister of the so-called "national security" in the Netanyahu government, stormed Jabal Sabih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus yesterday, and announced it to hundreds of settlers who "I give you my full and utter support, but I want much more than the settlement here, and there should be a complete settlement here, and not only here, but in all the hills around us."

This extremist did not take that provocative step in vain, but it came after Netanyahu agreed to legalize the "Avitar outpost" built on the aforementioned mountain following his submission to the demands of the pillars of his extremist government, led by Ministers Ben Gvir and Smotrich and a group of hateful religious people who consider the West Bank more important than Tel Aviv. From a religious point of view.

This infamous incursion was accompanied by a series of attacks launched by settlers yesterday against our people in various governorates, and also with the protection of the army forces that participated with them by firing bullets and poisonous gas at the defenseless citizens who are defending their assets by the only means they have, which is the "stone" that is fortified by the overwhelming popular will of rejection. For the continuation of the occupation in all its forms and coexistence with it and with hundreds of thousands of settlers who are crowded with the West Bank, to become an incubator for two Palestinian states, the first is a Palestinian state that is fragmented, lacks sovereignty and besieged, and the second is strong and impregnable and supported by money and weapons. The aim of all this is to push us to emigrate or remain in the cycle of violence and killing, because Israel refuses to coexist with the Palestinian people, and even rejects their existence in the first place, and says to the international community, with practical steps on the ground, "No to the two-state solution."

The Palestinian people, who do not possess nuclear weapons or combat tanks and planes, will not raise a white flag and will not surrender in front of the Israeli machine of killing and oppression. Acceptance of the fait accompli, which also confirms that the old Israeli saying that the Palestinian people is “the dust of the earth” is a miserable saying and was dispelled by Palestinian valor on the ground. The Jenin camp is only the most prominent address and a living example of what we say.

In front of this difficult reality, for which the Palestinian people pay daily with pure blood from the young bodies of their children, there must be a clear and frank international stance towards what Israel, which is ruled by settler gangs, is doing in terms of daily aggression, whether by the army, which has returned to the policy of assassinations with its drones, which have stopped After the end of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, or by settler gangs that have unleashed their free will and are now practicing their orgies in public to show a buried hatred against our people, who will definitely not stand idly by and will defend themselves with all their will to steadfastness and survival on the land of their usurped homeland.

What is required of the United States of America and the international community in general is to provide international protection for our people immediately and without hesitation, as well as clear and explicit positions that stop the shedding of blood and put an end to the creeping settlement that devours the land and prevents the establishment of an independent and sovereign state. It cannot be deterred unless the world says its word, "Enough with the occupation, and the Palestinian people have the right to live free and independent, like the rest of the peoples of the world, in a fully sovereign state that will be established on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital." Hence, we affirm that speeches and slogans do not benefit the Palestinian people insofar as they need to take concrete practical steps on the ground that provide them with protection and lift the heavy hand of the occupation and its settlers from them.

'Spiralling out of control': UN human rights chief's warning about Israeli attacks in Palestine

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, warned on Friday of the situation "risks spiralling out of control" in the occupied West Bank, in the wake of recent settler attacks on several areas.

In a statement on Friday, Türk said that the deterioration was "fuelled by strident political rhetoric and an escalation in the use of advanced military weaponry by Israel."

In a statement today, Friday, the High Commissioner called on the Israeli authorities to abide by international law in regard to the use of lethal force, after the Israeli forces operation in the Jenin refugee camp on Monday, which resulted in the killing of at least seven Palestinians, including a boy and a girl, and the injury of 91 others.

He called for "effective investigations into cases of killings committed by Israeli forces, where there is sufficient evidence of violations of national or international law," calling for "the suspected perpetrators to be held accountable."

The High Commissioner noted that “Israel must urgently reset its policies and actions in the Occupied West Bank in line with international human rights standards, including protecting and respecting the right to life."

“As the occupying power, Israel also has obligations under international humanitarian law to ensure public order and safety within the Occupied Palestinian Territory," he added.

Since the beginning of this year, Israel has killed at least 179 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, including 30 children. In the last 12 months, Israel has killed 230 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the highest number in the past 17 years.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights stressed that “For this violence to end, the occupation must end."

“On all sides, the people with the political power know this and must instigate immediate steps to realize this," he concluded.

23 Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces in 2023

Defense for Children International (DCI) said on Thursday that Israel has killed 23 Palestinian children in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since the start of the year.

The international NGO said that Israeli occupation forces had deliberately shot Palestinian children in the upper body "systematically," in a clear violation of international law. Lethal force, they argued, can only be justified when there is an immediate threat to life or seriously injury.

In the most recent case, DCI referred to the killing of 15-year-old girl Sadil Ghassan Naghniyeh, who succumbed to a head wound sustained during the Israeli occupation forces' raid on Jenin on Monday.

According to their documentation, an Israeli soldier fired at the child from inside a military jeep stationed around 150 metres from her family's home at a time when no clashes were taking place. Sadil was in the courtyard filming the troops on her mobile phone when she was shot in the head. She was evacuated to hospital and pronounced dead two days later.

On the same day, Israeli occupation forces shot dead 14-year-old Ahmed Yousef Ahmed Saqr. According to the NGO, troops shot toward the child from 200 metres when he was in a larger group.  He was hit in the stomach, and he announced his death upon his arrival at the hospital. He was one of seven Palestinians killed in the raid.

The World Movement referred to the case of the 16-year-old Hudhayfah Amjad Murra from the village of Kafr Malik, near Ramallah. He was wounded on Wednesday by live ammunition, both in the shoulder and in the head, after trying to put out fires set by settlers in the town of Turmus Ayya. His condition is stable.

Another case that DCI examined was that of 16-year-old Ashraf Mahmoud Farahti from the city of Jenin, who was shot by the occupation forces during their storming of Abu Bakr Street in the city center on March 16. During the raid, 14-year-old Omar Awadin was also shot in the back and killed.

Farahati was wounded in his right eye while he was hiding behind a vehicle. The bullet fragments lodged in his brain and he was taken to a hospital in Ramallah, where he stayed for 65 days, including 20 days in intensive care. The medical staff were unable to intervene surgically to remove the fragments. Unable to move or eat naturally, Farahati was transferred into rehabilitation in Bethlehem. His father says that he does not know whether his child recognizes him, as he is unable to communicate or move his face.

Their announcement came after the authorities returned the body of Muhammad Maher Turkman, a 17-year-old from the greater Jenin area who was killed in October of last year in an Israeli raid.

The commission said that Israel imposed very difficult conditions on Turkman's repatriation, preventing more than 25 people from attending the funeral, and blocking all media coverage.

Turkman was buried in Jadeidi-Makr, near Acre, the birthplace of his mother, after the Israeli occupation authorities conditioned the return on burying the body in '48 territories.

Israel holds the bodies of Palestinians who have been killed. The punitive measure has been roundly condemned by human rights groups.

Anis Douleh, who died in 1980,   has been held the longest by the Israeli authorities. The others include Aziz Oweisat, whose body has been held since 2018, Faris Baroud, Nassar Taqatqa, and Bassam Sayeh, who died in 2019, Saadi Al-Gharabli and Kamal Abu Waer, who died in 2020, Sami al-Imour, who died In 2021, Daoud Zubeidi, Mohammad Maher Turkman, and Nasser Abu Hmeid, who died in 2022. The body of Khader Adnan, who died in May this year after a three-month hunger strike in protest against his administrative detention, is also being held.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent announcement of his government's willingness to give permission to develop a natural gas field off the coast of the Gaza Strip provided a rare ray of hope in the turbulent social, political and security landscape in the region. Anyone who knows Netanyahu's biography well must be very optimistic, especially since this readiness was unavoidably coupled with a request for security guarantees, which we already know contain all imaginable demons in their details.

However, the news itself contains a necessary reminder of the size of the missed opportunities in Gaza, as in the general Palestinian national project, whether in terms of revenues from the strategic geographical location of the Strip, or because the Palestinian territories - contrary to expectations - are a huge gathering of talents and untapped natural resources. Nothing prevents Gaza from achieving much of what Singapore or Hong Kong achieved, had it not been for the inability to imagine alternatives to conflict other than militarization, and a different definition of the horizon of the Palestinian national project, which has shifted from the project of the Palestinian and Israeli states to the two-state project in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The news is also an indication of the distortion of the idea of peace itself on the Israeli side, and a reminder to both peace camps on both sides of the distance that separates us today from the vision of the late Israeli Prime Minister and President Shimon Peres, who bet on a peace based on common economic, financial and environmental interests, and not on signing Treaties and agreements on paper.

When Lee Kuan Yew took office as Singapore's first Prime Minister in 1959, he inherited a fishing town suffering from severe unemployment and a housing shortage. But through strategic planning and economic foresight, he has transformed Singapore into an internationally recognized financial and innovation powerhouse, making it a stunning economy driven by a thriving technology sector and one of the busiest ports in the world. This was achieved by investing in education, promoting political stability, and creating an attractive environment for foreign investment, which is - for Gaza - a sharp reminder that the region's future is not determined solely by its current conditions or turbulent past, but by its ability to envision a more prosperous future. and strive to achieve it.

The discovery of the gas field in 1999 by British Gas, and the subsequent ebb and flow of peace negotiations over two decades, indicates the amount of time and economic wealth that was wasted due to the cycles of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the Palestinian-Palestinian conflict.

Moreover, Gaza's human resources are also an important untapped asset. The sector is teeming with young talents, especially in the technology sector, around which the beginnings of an integrated technology industry can be built, rather than transforming the sector into a reservoir of poor talented labor serving the technology sector in Israel. In this context, for example, the initiatives of former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who also comes from the technology sector, in addition to the programs of the Israeli technology sector to train Palestinian talents, reveal an important aspect of Israel's endeavor to benefit from these talents to enhance its technology industry, in the face of the lack of Israeli talents. Due to migration to Silicon Valley, and the increasing need to expand the scope of innovation and increase talent in the cyber services sector, at the civilian and military levels.

There is no doubt that the strict restrictions imposed by Israel on Gaza, under the pretext of security necessities, have severely impeded its chances of economic development and prosperity, especially the policies that limit the movement of people, goods and resources inside and outside the Strip, which has raised unemployment rates to exceptional levels, exacerbated poverty, and impeded Local business growth. In addition, the restrictions imposed on the development of infrastructure and the import of vital materials have led to a significant deterioration in living conditions, including problems with water supply, sanitation and electricity that deprive the sector of the least objective conditions necessary to build a prosperous and sustainable economy.

On the other hand, the responsibilities of the armed groups, especially Hamas, cannot be underestimated in reinforcing the state of misery in Gaza and turning the strip from which Israel withdrew in 2005 into a military base for Iran, at the expense of Palestinian civil peace and the priority of economic development for the Palestinians.

However, the game of distributing responsibilities is a vicious circle that can only be broken by imagining a better future and honest pursuit of the conditions conducive to it.

Japan recovered from the ashes of World War II, and employed the recognition of its defeat to create a new Japanese national consciousness, which paved the way for it to become a global economic power. This is a lesson that should not be forgotten in the minds of those responsible for the Palestinian national project, instead of exposing the Palestinians to the permanent consequences of not recognizing the imbalance of power to their disadvantage. .

It can be said that acknowledging defeat is a prelude to a better future, incomparably nobler than the disappointed illusions of victory that lead the Palestinians from misery to misery. Nothing prevents Gaza from being transformed, with its favorable geographical location, vast human resources, and untapped natural resources, from a war-torn region into an economic center resembling Singapore or Hong Kong, within a Palestinian vision first, and with Arab-Gulf-Egyptian partnership.

The recent announcement of the gas fields off the coast of the Gaza Strip, regardless of their size, is a call to atone for national Palestinian policies that focus on human development and economic growth, as a path towards a better future, and as a newer title for Palestinian national dignity.

It is a test of the Palestinian's ability to define his cause outside the war process. In agreement with the "Middle East"

Israel and Iran: Worse to come

Antoine Shalhat

There are those in Israel who believe that the reason why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not invited to visit Washington, unusually after every general election and the formation of a new government in Israel, is due to the current US administration’s intention to reach understandings with Iran regarding its nuclear program that Israel opposes. Government and opposition, in order to avoid the possibility that Netanyahu will take advantage of his visit to turn Congress and public opinion in the United States against this administration, as he did during the signing of the previous nuclear agreement in 2015.

Those who believe in this conclude, at the same time, that Washington is moving towards these understandings that would lead, among other things, and as confirmed by reliable American sources, to Iran’s agreement not to enrich uranium, beyond 60%, and to increase its cooperation with Iran. International nuclear inspectors, preventing its proxies from attacking American contractors in Iraq and Syria, refraining from selling ballistic missiles to Russia, and releasing American prisoners in its territory.

On the other hand, the United States will refrain from imposing new sanctions against Iran, stop confiscating Iranian oil shipments, and stop presenting draft resolutions against Tehran's nuclear program in the Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The prevailing assessment among them is that there is a return to a past stage, the stage of signing the original nuclear agreement, which seemed, even for a short period, to have ended with Washington’s withdrawal from the agreement during the term of former President Donald Trump, and from it a different present is born that indicates a worse future.

The expectation of the worst is based on several justifications, the most prominent of which is that the strategy adopted by Israel to curb the Iranian nuclear program, mainly during Netanyahu’s term as prime minister of the Israeli government since 2009, was based on creating an international climate supportive of this curb, particularly from the United States and Europe.

Now, with the new steps of the US administration, the latest decisions of the International Atomic Energy Agency regarding Iran, and the latter's progress in its nuclear program, Israel cannot rely on others, and it has no choice but to push more and more with the option of relying on itself.

In the overall Israeli reading of the latest developments, the essence of the US-Iranian understandings that are taking shape is freezing the Iranian nuclear program in its current state, in return for stopping part of the economic sanctions imposed on Iran, mainly the release of Iranian funds seized in several countries. This means whitewashing Iranian breaches internationally in the nuclear field, granting Iran legitimacy, and certifying that it has a nuclear program with relatively high levels of enrichment, and at the same time, that it has large quantities of enriched uranium sufficient to manufacture several nuclear bombs.

The understandings will allow Iran to obtain tens of billions of dollars, which can be used to continue to accumulate military power, as well as to invest these funds to enhance what is described as "Iranian aggression in the Middle East and the world."

The expectation of the worst is also related to another fact that is read between the lines of statements issued by former senior Israeli military officials, including Brigadier General Oren Setter, who shortly before ended the duties of head of the strategic unit in the General Staff of the Israeli army, and confirmed, in the context of a press interview a few days ago , that Israel has military plans to attack Iran, but without taking into account the status of the United States, it will be difficult to implement them.

As for Major General Reserve Amos Gilad, the former head of the security-political department in the Ministry of Defense, he said at an international conference on energy affairs held in Tel Aviv last March that it is no longer a secret that Israel cannot attack Iran on its own and without the United States, because it will be exposed to a harsh reaction. The brave soldier quoted Schvik who said: "I will kill the enemies," and when they asked him, "What will happen if they kill you?", he answered them: "I did not think of that at all!"

The occupation persists, and our people resist.. and the world watches!!

The developments in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, confirmed that our people will not calm down and will not accept the practices of the occupation. From Jenin in the north, passing through Hawara and Nablus, all the way to Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and ending in Hebron Governorate, the popular resistance in all its forms has not stopped, and we find it in every city, town and village. Different models of resistance and at all levels, and the situation is increasing and expanding.

And the occupation, starting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, to the settlers and all other extremist forces, led by the so-called Minister of Security Itamar Ben Gvir, are calling for launching a massive aggression and eliminating what they call the enemy, and Netanyahu has confirmed that all options are open, and the occupation forces have strengthened their patrols and numbers in every Throughout the West Bank, Ben Gvir called for a massive aggression.

The occupation began by storming a number of cities and villages in the West Bank, and the settlers launched a wave of massive attacks in all parts. Apache helicopters were also used, but they did not intimidate the resistance, but rather intensified the clashes and anger.

And all the cities and villages of the West Bank seemed to be in a state of actual and widespread war, and the Jerusalem Endowment Council warned of the danger of targeting the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, after the occupation police forced all its workers to leave under threats and arrest warrants.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Information Nabil Abu Rudeineh stressed at an international symposium held in Rabat that Jerusalem is in danger and needs all efforts to protect and defend it.

Unfortunately, as we see the occupation persevering and our people standing up to it with all its capabilities and capabilities, we find the world with almost all its forces and countries standing by and doing nothing to stop this settlement expansion. she has..

This is what we Palestinians must realize and rely on ourselves only, and at the forefront of what we must do is restore political and geographical unity between Gaza and the West Bank or between Hamas and Fatah in reality, because the continuation of these tragic situations weakens our strength and steadfastness and what we must do..perhaps Who cares to listen..!

In just six months: Israel approves record 13,000 settlement units

Israel's far-right government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu. has doubled the number of settlement units approved for construction in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

According to the figures published in the Hebrew newspaper, Israel Hayom, the government has approved 13,000 settlement units in its first six months in office, almost double the previous record set under the Donald Trump's presidency.

This comes in light of the government's approval of 1,000 settlement units in Eli, near Ramallah. The move was framed as a response to the shooting attack on Tuesday, in which two Palestinian gunmen killed four Israelis at a gas station.

The government approved an additional 4,500 settlement units a few days earlier, as well as easing the procedures for construction in the occupied West Bank.

At the peak of the Trump era, 10,000 units were approved in a single year.

However, unlike his predecessor, U.S. President Joe Biden has expressed his opposition to the construction of settlements, arguing that they undercut the prospect of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Far-right leader Bezalel Smotrich, who is the finance minister and a minister in the Israel's Defense Ministry, addressed the media in anticipation of a fierce American reaction: “The publication of construction plans is good news for the citizens of Israel...we are at the peak of our work, and we will continue to lead on settlements."

Israel's opposition criticized the steps from different perspectives.

Yair Lapid, leader of the opposition, noted that "we are already in a major crisis with the Americans, and this kind of behavior is causing damage to relations."

Benny Gantz, leader of the National Unity Party, voiced his support for more settlement construction, but said that it should be done in a "correct manner. What is currently happening is Netanyahu's surrender to Smotrich."

How Israel's aerial assassination in Jenin unfolded

On Thursday night, the Israeli military carried out a targeted assassination against an armed Palestinian cell with an aircraft in the occupied West Bank for the first time since 2006.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth published a detailed breakdown of the assassination.

The last time that Israel carried out a targeted strike was in August 2006, when an Apache helicopter attacked a house inside Jenin Refugee Camp to kill two Islamic Jihad activists, Muhammad Ateeq from Jenin, and Amjad Al-Ajmi from the town of Atil in Tulkarm, who were planning to carry out an attack.

Al-Ajmi, who was wanted since May 2005, was in hiding in Jenin. He was recruited by the Islamic Jihad Movement to carry out an attack in Jerusalem, which was thwarted before he had the chance to carry it out. However, Al-Ajmi participated in planning other attacks and recruiting Palestinians to carry them out.

In Israel, they said at the time that this cell was responsible for numerous bombing attacks inside the country, including the attack in February 2005 in Tel Aviv, another in Tel Aviv Central Station in April 2006, attacks in Netanya in July and December 2005, and another in Hadera market in October 2005.

After failing to reach the cell through a ground operation, the top brass decided to use an attack helicopter for the first time in a year-and-a-half.

After 17 years, Israel decided to employ a similar strategy - this time using a "Zik" drone to strike a joint cell consisting of three Islamic Jihad and Fatah activists who opened fire toward the Jalameh checkpoint, near Jenin, and were responsible for a string of similar shootings.

Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said the attack was intended to "remove a threat" and was unrelated to the assassination of a senior official. The operation was carried out by Unit 5252, which specializes in attack drones.

The cell, Hagari said, had fired toward Jalameh crossing and were on their way to carry out another shooting attack. Weapons were found in their possession and their bodies were seized.

In another report by Yedioth Ahronoth, analysts said that similar aerial attacks could occur again, with a focus on striking armed groups in Nablus and Jenin. The report distinguished between strikes on the Gaza Strip, which were based on prior intelligence, whereas Wednesday night's event was aimed at thwarting imminent danger.

The report added that the move does not represent a return to the policy of targeted assassinations, and that near-nightly raids will likely continue as the main mechanism to fight armed Palestinian cells.

Establishing a new settlement outpost near Ramallah

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Israeli occupation forces set up six mobile homes, "caravans", on the lands of al-Laban al-Sharqiya, south of Nablus, on the road connecting the cities of Nablus and Ramallah.

Local sources reported that the occupation bulldozers bulldozed land in the area located on the road south of Al-Laban Al-Sharqiya and Sinjil, to prepare it for the establishment of the settlement outpost, and it is owned by the citizens Musa Al-Abd Aweys, Abdel-Rahim Nubani, and Ahmed Mahmoud Aweys.

It is noteworthy that the area surrounding the towns of Sinjil, Turmus Aya, and Al Laban Al Sharqiya is besieged by more than seven settlement outposts adjacent to the hills of the three towns, in addition to the settlements of "Eli", "Ma'ale Levonah" and "Shilo", thus forming a huge settlement bloc in the middle of the West Bank, which is considered separator between north and south.
