The Chinese and Egyptian Ministers of Culture inaugurate the "Meeting of Artists on the Silk Road" exhibition in Cairo
On Monday, Chinese Minister of Culture Hu Heping and his Egyptian counterpart Nevin Al-Kilani inaugurated an art exhibition entitled "The Meeting of Artists on the Silk Road" at the Palace of Arts in the Cairo Opera House.
The exhibition, which will continue until April 30, and is organized by the Chinese and Egyptian Ministries of Culture and the League of Arab States, includes 47 works of art by Arab artists and 40 works of painting and artistic ceramics created by Chinese artists, among the works that embody their true emotions and efforts to advance Chinese-Arab friendship in the field of art.
Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping expressed his happiness at the opening of the exhibition "The Meeting of Artists on the Silk Road" and his sincere appreciation to Chinese and Arab artists, adding that the friendship between China and Arab countries is rooted in the depths of history and renewed over time, and exchange and cooperation between China and Arab countries have been achieved. Fruitful achievements in the fields of culture and tourism.
He continued, saying that this exhibition includes 87 works of art by Chinese and Arab artists, including Chinese photography, oil painting, ceramic paintings and other various art forms that are characterized by unique skill and brilliant colors, to be a beautiful window to explore China and an important way to understand the identity of Arab cultures.
He stressed that the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism is keen to work with the Arab side to actively implement the achievements of the first Chinese-Arab summit and continue to deepen cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism, hoping that Chinese and Arab artists will continue to make efforts to enhance Chinese-Arab friendship and increase understanding between peoples.
For her part, Egyptian Minister of Culture Nevin Al-Kilani confirmed that the opening of the exhibition "The Meeting of Artists on the Silk Road" comes in appreciation of the prominent role played by the Silk Road over many centuries in promoting cultural exchange between countries.
Al-Kilani added in a speech during the opening ceremony that in addition to its main role as a commercial corridor, this road had a major role in enriching ancient civilizations, especially the Egyptian and Chinese civilizations.
And she considered that the visit of the Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism and his accompanying delegation to Egypt is "a continuation and consolidation of the distinguished cultural relations that bring our two countries together," noting that the Egyptian-Chinese relations have witnessed, over more than seven decades, continuous development in all fields, and cultural relations have always been the main engine. The relations between the two states and the two peoples, as these relations bear a common cultural heritage that is characterized by striving to establish a culture of peace and mutual benefit and the call for democratic relations and respect for the culture of the other.
And she added that Egypt and China officially signed the cultural cooperation agreement between them in 1956.
Since that date until now, many executive programs have been signed that embody cultural cooperation between the two countries in its various tourism, educational and media dimensions, in addition to mutual visits, holding joint exhibitions, organizing mutual cultural years, and opening cultural offices and institutions in the two capitals, Cairo and Beijing.
The Egyptian minister stressed that Egypt and China are still making unremitting efforts to deepen their cultural relationship, which confirms the depth of the historical relations between the two countries.
In her turn, Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, affirmed the keenness of the League and its member states to participate in this exhibition, which she hoped would achieve the desired goals, noting that the Arab and Chinese sides have a long history and a bright cultural heritage, soft power and positive and common human values. Such as tolerance, peace, brotherhood, communication with the other, and coexistence between cultures and civilizations, it contributed to the harmony and harmony of the Arab and Chinese cultures and civilizations.
She believed that the exhibition confirms the keenness of the Arab countries to strengthen their relations with China in various fields, the most important of which is the cultural field, and she hoped that the exhibition would tour all Arab countries.
