Cairo - "Jerusalem" dot com - With the participation of the State of Palestine , the Council of Arab Economic Unity organized a national conference on "The Impact of Climate Change on the Environmental, Agricultural and Social Aspects in the Arab World - Determinants and Solutions", in cooperation with the Arab Union for the Protection of Wild and Marine Life.

Duha Jarad, responsible for the economic file at the Palestine Delegation to the Arab League, participated in the conference.

The Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Ambassador Mohammadi Al-Nani, confirmed that the conference discussed several axes, including climate change and its effects on water and food security in the Arab region, and its impact on biodiversity and the future of global food, as well as the impact of climate changes on natural reserves, hunting activities and fish farming through a vision investment.

Al-Ni indicated that the conference aims to monitor the forms of negative effects of climate change on the economic and social life of the Egyptian society, as well as identify control strategies and mechanisms to control the negative effects of climate change with a focus on investment opportunities, in addition to developing a vision about the investment and innovative visions of the Council of Economic Unity in confronting change. climate in the Arab region.

He said that the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States has developed a plan to confront climate change, especially in the member states of the Council of Economic Unity, and these are large and influential countries, and they represent 60% of the population of the Arab world, stressing the need for concerted efforts to confront the dangerous repercussions of the effects of climate change.

He noted that there is a failure by countries to confront climate change, especially the industrialized countries that are primarily responsible for harmful emissions, stressing that if the world does not fulfill its commitments and the necessary action to confront the climate change catastrophe, it will experience climate annihilation.
