Equation: Beware... the wolf is wounded and licks his blood
One phone call, from a powerful spy accredited to the Shin Bet, saying that he was able to find out where five of the soldiers held by Hamas were being held, made Netanyahu immediately decide to send a military strike force to bomb the place and bring the prisoners back alive or dead.
Netanyahu will not pay attention to any commitment, signature, agreement or mediators - especially if they are Arabs - he will tell the world that Israel's interest and the lives of its soldiers are more important than anything else at all, and that he personally is the one popularly charged with this task, not Biden or Trump after him, as they are far away and do not understand the fine lines of the conflict. Not Sisi or Tamim, as they have their own countries and peoples that they care about. He will say that God prevents him from hesitating, procrastinating or postponing, especially since the scenario of their exchange will be in the second stage after six weeks, and who can guarantee, he asks, that it will happen? And who can guarantee that Hamas will not kill them? He will say what Yitzhak Shamir said before him when he went to the Madrid Conference, that his intention was to extend the negotiations for ten years, and now they have extended to forty. He will say what Yitzhak Rabin said, that deadlines are not sacred. He will say that Hamas violated the deal three times in ten days, when it did not hand over the lists to us in the first batch, when it did not commit to releasing the Arbil Jews in the second batch, and when it put the lives of the kidnapped soldiers in danger in the third batch, as it wanted to exploit that in the vicinity of Sinwar’s house.
Of course, all of these are just excuses, and Netanyahu is searching for them with a flashlight in broad daylight. He promised his partners in government that he would not reach the second stage, and would resume the war, eliminate Hamas and 20-30 thousand civilians with it, thus helping Trump in the displacement plan, and he will make the people pay the price for their support for Hamas when they returned to their destroyed homes, and as soon as he attacks them this time, they will be displaced for the last time to where hunger, thirst and despair lie. As for Hamas, after its recent announcement of the killing of its military leadership, headed by Daif, this is a golden opportunity to pounce and finish it off, instead of catching its breath, rebuilding itself and replacing its leaders with life-sentenced prisoners who are being freed from the shackles.
The most important point on the popular and personal level is the defeat that befell the army, politicians and society, to the point that Palestinian laughter and Palestinian ululations have become forbidden. It is his opportunity to turn defeat into victory within six weeks, thus transforming himself from a defeated war criminal into a victorious Israeli king.
It is not a discouraging message to the resistance led by Hamas, but rather a warning about the dangers of the wounded wolf, so that it may be aware, comprehend, beware and plan, for he who searches for an excuse will find it, and if he does not find it, he will invent it, claiming that a call has arrived reporting the location of kidnapped people.
