22 countries call on Israel to allow full and immediate access for aid into the Gaza Strip.

The foreign ministers of 22 countries, including France, Germany, Britain, Canada, Japan, and Australia, on Monday called on Israel to "re-permit full and immediate access" to Gaza under the supervision of the United Nations and non-governmental organizations.

A joint statement issued by the German Foreign Ministry said that the United Nations and humanitarian organizations "cannot support" the new mechanism for delivering aid to Gaza adopted by Israel.

In this context, the French president and the British and Canadian prime ministers warned that they would not "stand idly by" in the face of the "shameful actions" of the Israeli government headed by Benjamin Netanyahu in Gaza, threatening "concrete steps" if it did not halt its assault on Gaza and allow humanitarian aid to enter.
