The United Nations calls for "dialogue without preconditions" to end the political crisis in Iraq

Baghdad, (AFP) - The United Nations Mission in Iraq on Monday called on the country's political parties to engage in "dialogue without preconditions" in order to find a way out of "a protracted crisis that threatens more instability," a year after the legislative elections.

Iraq held early legislative elections on October 10, 2021, under the pressure of the unprecedented popular protests that took place in the fall of 2019, rejecting the corruption of the political class and the deterioration of the infrastructure.

But a year later, the same political parties still dominate the country. Despite the endless negotiations among them, the parties to the crisis failed to reach an agreement on electing a new President of the Republic and naming a new Prime Minister.

The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in its statement, Monday, that "all actors must engage in dialogue without preconditions."

It called on the country's politicians to "collectively agree on the main results by making concessions that reaffirm their declared goal of meeting the needs of the Iraqi people and forming a government with full and effective powers."

Iraq is experiencing an acute political crisis due to the dispute between the two Shiite political poles, namely the coordination framework, and the Sadrist movement.

For his part, Muqtada al-Sadr calls for the dissolution of parliament and the holding of early legislative elections, while the coordination framework, which includes factions loyal to Iran, calls for the formation of a new government before heading to elections.

The tension reached its climax on August 29, when armed confrontations took place between supporters of Muqtada al-Sadr on the one hand, and forces from the army and the popular crowd on the other, during which more than 30 members of the Sadrist movement were killed.

The United Nations statement warned that, "Today, Iraq does not have much time. The protracted crisis portends more instability, and recent events are evidence of that."

He added, "Approving the 2023 budget before the end of the year is an urgent matter."

In turn, the French embassy in Baghdad called, in a statement, on all political parties "urgently to engage in genuine dialogue without preconditions and with a real willingness to make concessions."

"Abu al-Samed" .. the flame of Qalandia camp that does not go out despite the many arrests and deputies

Jerusalem - "Al-Quds" dot com - Wasel Al-Khatib - "Abu Al-Samed", a respected name that people circulate in Qalandia camp specifically and in various areas of Jerusalem governorate in general, because this 51-year-old man is the father of two and four young men. Girls, he spent most of his years in the arenas of struggle and struggle in the ranks of the "Fatah" movement and its various institutions, while he was wounded dozens of times by the bullets of the occupation and miraculously escaped death, but a large number of his family members, "Imtair", died as martyrs, including his nephew, the martyr "Nahed Amtir". ", whose name came after the martyr "Nahed", a son of the same family, who died on 4/16/1994, at the gate of the camp in the midst of bloody confrontations with the occupation soldiers on the anniversary of the assassination of the great fighter Khalil al-Wazir "Abu Jihad".

This nickname belongs to "Raed Fayez Amtir," who lives in Qalandia camp, and was arrested about two weeks ago from his home in the early hours of the morning, along with his son, "Samed," and they were imprisoned in "Ofer" prison in Betunia without being charged yet, bearing in mind that the father was injured. He was severely wounded in the knee after being attacked by settlers in Jaffa during a recreational trip he was taking with his friends.

His brother, Fawaz Amtir, who leads the Palestinian Legions team, says that "Abu al-Samad" has not known a taste of comfort or personal or social stability since the Great Intifada in 1987, and until now, he was the one who was and still repeats the slogan "No voice is louder than the voice of Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem." This is normal for a refugee whose family roots were uprooted from their original village, Bir Ama’in, and they were thrown into the camps, exile, and diaspora.

"O Fayez", who is the man who crosses the mountains with heavy vehicles with the Palestinian legion team to get acquainted with the geography of the stolen country, added in an interview with "4" dot com, through the media office of the Popular National Congress of Jerusalem, that his brother was arrested by the occupation for about ten years. Among them are periods of administrative detention. He had experienced prisons at a young age, and now he is returning to them when he is in his early fifties with his eldest son, “Samad,” who is 21 years old, indicating that they do not know what are the reasons for his detention, which was extended for more than week during the past days in preparation for his trial or release.

Emtair continues, Raed is now in charge of the secretariat of the People's Committee for Services in Qalandia camp, as a result of recent elections in which he received the highest votes, knowing that he is considered one of the advanced organizational cadres of the leadership ranks and one of the voices calling for national unity and an end to the divisions and defections that serve only The common enemy of all of us is the occupation.

Hence the great love that “Abu al-Samad” enjoys, who, as the youth of the camp say about him, “breathes unity, freedom and pride,” noting that in one of his arrests he underwent a very harsh interrogation and did not confess to anyone, denying the major charges that were leveled against him, and he was released from prison. The prison was victorious, so it was carried on the shoulders and the national flags were raised, and the young men walked with it in the alleys, streets, and lanes, proud of this stature, which expressed the strength of the camp residents, their loyalty, their belonging to their cause, and their non-compliance with the constants.

The Amtair family, to which "Abu al-Samed" belongs, presented two martyrs: Muhammad and Muhannad Amtir, during the last month of last year, when they deliberately and premeditatedly ran over a settler near the Za'tara military checkpoint while they were returning from the city of Nablus, where they were with their brothers. The three are preparing for the wedding of one of the family's girls, their first-degree relative, so the joy turned to joy.

Fawaz Amtir hopes that his brother, Raed, and his son, Samed, who were preparing for his engagement party these days, will smell the fragrance of freedom and that they will not be charged or transferred to administrative detention, expressing his concern for the health of his brother, who is suffering from the effects of the surgery that was performed. He kneeled him after the settlers attacked him in Jaffa, denouncing the continuous targeting of him, which deprives him of stability with his nuclear family and his extended family, calling for activating the prisoners’ issue and removing it from the “seasonal” domain and keeping its flame burning until all the male and female prisoners are liberated from the occupation prisons, congratulating Mrs. At the same time, the two deans of the prisoners, Karim and Maher Yunus, were freed, hoping that all the detainees would soon embrace the country's sun.

They are not thirty people!!!

Written by: Nabil Amr
Every day, the nation wakes up with news that drips blood.
The worst thing that pollutes human values is that those killed turn into numbers.
Yesterday one, the day before yesterday two, and the night that passed five, and there is death by installments, as doctors fail to save the life of a wounded person, so his death is announced after weeks, so that hospitals prepare to receive new numbers, as well as prisons and cemeteries.
This image, with all its backgrounds and dimensions, is the image of our life, so that death has become a part of our daily lives, just as it is a condition of life for our occupiers.
One of the rare things in the history of the occupations, which has become an established law in Israel, is the transformation of the spilled Palestinian blood into votes that decide the matter of those who aspire to win according to the principle of whoever kills more deserves more power.
This happened during the three-day massacre carried out by Lapid-Gantz's coalition in Gaza, and the same thing is happening in the West Bank, but for months its calendar was written with the names of the martyrs.
The Israeli knife plunges into the Palestinian and even Arab bodies, and if we in Palestine are under the oppression of a balance of forces in our favor, and we find young men offering their lives on their own, let us extend our eyes to our immediate surroundings, so what do we see?
Syria, which we have never regretted describing as the beating heart of Arabism, bombed its capital at the height of noon, and the appropriate time promised for a response had not arrived!! Lebanon, our twin in suffering from Israel, is preparing to demarcate its maritime borders with it, with decisive mediation from the Great Satan, and with the boast of Hezbollah that it and no one else has achieved this "historic achievement." to isolate him from confession.
As for the best of those who stand with us and feel our pain, he has nothing to offer us more than sympathy coupled with the hope that God will guide Israel and it will go to the right path by moving from its fierce war to a quiet peace in which there is much more illusion than truth.
And we transformed our regional and Arab incubator, as it is in a state of racing for normalization that did not stop at the public Abraham agreements, as Turkish reinforcement came to it, in which yesterday's opponents with Israel moved to the site of today's lovers.
And when we look around us and see what we see, we find ourselves obligated to look in our mirror to see what is more serious and more important:
A division whenever we think that we have taken a step towards ending it, we take steps towards consecrating it, and factions that hide behind the young men of the lions' den bless what they are doing and do not go as far as adopting it.
And an authority that directs its messages via mail to no address, sometimes to the international community, which has no interest in any conflict or solution worldwide, and sometimes to the human conscience in order to force Europe and America to stop double standards, that is, to deal with Gaza and Nablus as you deal with Kharkov and Kiev!!
And messages to those who talk about the two-state solution, urging them to associate easy words with hard deeds, but there is no life for those who call.
The Palestinian people clings to a weapon that has not yet been invented. The counter-weapon that ends and abolishes it is the weapon of transcendent stubbornness and the weapon of defiance that is embodied and renewed by initiatives that would not have crossed the mind of traditional calculations. There are many with the same meaning, and there will be more titles if the occupation continues.
Here is what I can say more than what Haaretz said, written by Ronit Marzan. I suggest not being satisfied with what I quoted, and to read the entire article. It was published in Jerusalem yesterday on page seven, with the title "They are not weddings, and they are not only thirty people."
“The death of the martyrs – and Haaretz said – defies the Palestinian patriarchal system. Mothers must contain anger and be proud of their children’s courage. Sometimes they are given sedatives and even removed from the body of their son without being able to hug him before burying him in order to make sure that the funeral will be a show of strength, pride and dignity. Not hysterical crying.
Haaretz concludes its article with a deeply significant conclusion, saying in one letter, "Instead of shutting down the tuk-tuks, and instead of calling them "weddings" and instead of considering them a handful that includes a few people, it is worthwhile for Israel to make efforts to extinguish the burning materials that fuel the fire of rebellion, and perhaps here we will benefit more from it. Run a losing war against windmills.

After the initial shock, the Russian economy is adjusting to the sanctions

Moscow - (AFP) - From falling unemployment to low inflation and lower-than-expected estimates of deflation, the Russian economy is showing resilience despite the sanctions thanks to its energy resources, but the long-term challenges remain many.

Moscow says that inflation is declining and all jobs are filled, which contradicts the predictions of many financial experts of a catastrophe.

On Tuesday, the International Monetary Fund offered some support for Russia's view, indicating that the recession would be less severe than expected due to oil exports and relatively stable domestic demand.

The International Monetary Fund predicted that the Russian economy would contract by only 3.4 percent over the whole year, a far cry from the disastrous international forecast in March, in the aftermath of the military intervention in Ukraine.

Likewise, the International Foundation indicated in a report to "the steadfastness of crude oil exports and domestic demand with increasing support for fiscal and monetary policies and the restoration of confidence in the financial system."

In September, President Vladimir Putin assured Russian economic decision-makers of "normalizing the situation," considering that the "peak" of difficulties had become "the past."

According to him, this is reflected especially through the “unemployment rate at its lowest levels,” that is, at 3.8 percent, and the “lowering of inflation” to 13.7 percent in one year, after breaking records in the spring in the wake of the first batch of sanctions. international.

"We can say that the impact of the first sanctions has passed, especially the effects on the financial sector," said Elena Rybakova, deputy chief economist at the Institute of International Finance (IIF), in response to an AFP question.

"Russia has succeeded in preparing and adapting to the sanctions," she added.

Diplomatic and economic divergence with the West has accelerated rapprochement with China, Russia's energy-hungry neighbor with which it shares a border of more than 4,000 km.

Faced with a virtually unattainable European market, "companies are forced to find alternatives in other markets, particularly in Asia and Turkey," Natalia Zubarevich, an economist at Moscow State University, told AFP.

Moscow and Beijing have already announced their desire to place gas contracts between them in rubles and yuan, which is a victory for Russia by "removing the dollar" from its economy.

In addition, Moscow praised the "OPEC +" coalition's announcement last week of its desire to sharply reduce its oil production, which displeased Washington, at a time when Moscow may benefit from the rise in black gold prices.

And all this comes while the difficulties faced by the Europeans and the Group of Seven countries in determining the price of Russian oil contributed to overcoming the obstacles that the Russian economy might face.

But structurally, the Russian economy will find itself more dependent on the energy windfall, while sectors with high added value will face further downturn.

Increasing isolation is likely to burden those who depend on foreign countries technologically, especially since promises of alternative Russian products are still limited to the theoretical level.

This comes as Russia faces a shortage of assembly parts that has hit car production. In mid-September, for example, the Japanese company Toyota closed its assembly plant in St. Petersburg (northwest), due to a shortage of electronic components.

Elena Rybakova estimates that "about 50 percent of companies affected by the sanctions still find it difficult to find alternative suppliers."

As a result, Russia decided to relax safety and environmental standards for vehicles produced in the country.

But in a working document issued by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the content of which was leaked to the Russian press, officials recently expressed their annoyance at the delay of "10 to 15 years" in the Russian technology industry, and the "dependence" on foreign production and the shortage of workers.

Another source of concern remains the European ban on Russian oil scheduled for December 5, which precedes the ban on refined products scheduled for February 2023, at a time when the Russian economy is particularly dependent on fuel.

Between January and August 2022, more than 40 percent of federal revenue came from the sale of gas and oil, according to Russia's Finance Ministry.

Biden affirms Washington's commitment to supporting Africa and strengthening its role in the international arena

Washington - (AFP) - US President Joe Biden announced Thursday his support for a greater African role in the international arena, and pledged that the United States would not hesitate to encourage democracy.

"The United States is fully committed to and with Africa," Biden told about 50 African leaders meeting in Washington for a three-day summit that ends Thursday.

After calling in September for a permanent African seat on the United Nations Security Council, the US president endorsed granting the African Union permanent membership in the G20 and revealed that he plans to visit countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the first for an American president since 2015.

"We'll see you all, and you'll see us often," Biden said, without announcing a specific date or destination for his trip.

The day before, he had invited African leaders to a dinner at the White House, with the African Union first arriving on the red carpet at the first summit of its kind since Barack Obama launched a similar initiative in 2014.

Former US President Donald Trump did not hide his lack of interest in Africa, while China, which the United States considers its biggest global competitor, has become a major player in the continent through major investments in recent years.

During the summit, the United States announced the allocation of $55 billion in investments in projects on the continent over the next three years, including investments in green energy, training health workers and modernizing internet networks.

The private sector also pledged $15 billion in investments, particularly in the digital technology sector.
In contrast to China, which does not mind dealing with all African regimes, the United States was keen to emphasize democracy, although Biden called for leaders seen as authoritarian.

"The United States will always lead by its values," the US president told African leaders.

And he added, "Supporting democracy, respecting the rule of law, adhering to human rights and responsible governance are all part of our being."

Biden announced $100 million in support for the security sector, but also revealed that Washington would invest $75 million to counter "democratic backsliding," including by strengthening election bodies and civil society.

On Wednesday, the leaders of six African countries holding elections next year, including Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the largest countries in sub-Saharan Africa in terms of population and area, respectively, met to seek promises that the elections would be free and fair.

Mark Green, a former member of Congress and head of the US Agency for International Development, said the United States is focused on building self-reliance in Africa, while China is looking to "strengthen aid dependency."

"If Chinese investment in Africa leads to greater self-reliance, someone in Beijing is going to lose his or her job," said Green, who currently heads the Wilson Center.

China denies US accusations that it is laying a "debt trap" for developing countries, and in turn called on Washington not to view Africa from the perspective of geopolitical competition.

For his part, Senegalese President Macky Sall, who currently heads the African Union, welcomed the United States' support for the institution and expressed his appreciation for the Biden summit.

But he called on Washington to end longstanding sanctions on Zimbabwe, and expressed concern about a bill in the US Congress that would sanction African countries for their dealings with Russia.

"This will be the first time in international relations that an entire continent has been targeted," Sall told his US counterpart before the leaders.

Later Thursday, Joe Biden will chair a session on food security at a time when his administration emphasizes US aid and points fingers at Russia for the sharp rise in global prices that contributed to the spread of hunger, especially in the drought-stricken Horn of Africa.

In February, Russia attacked Ukraine, both of which are major exporters of grain to developing countries.

Russia sought to mobilize African public opinion by blaming the rise in food prices for Western sanctions imposed on it because of the war.

Horizons of resistance in the northern West Bank

Written by: Hani Al-Masry

She participated in a symposium organized by the Vision Center for Political Development in Istanbul on "The Political Repercussions of Developments in the Northern West Bank", in which she presented an intervention entitled "The Political Dimensions of the Resistance Phenomenon in the Northern West Bank, and an Attempt to Anticipate Its Future". In it, I focused on the causes and contexts that led to the phenomenon of resistance in the northern West Bank, which took the title of "Jenin Brigade" and "Lions' Den" in Nablus. It also dealt with the prospects for this phenomenon, and the possibility of its continuation and transformation into an armed uprising.

Reasons for the "Northern Bank" Phenomenon

First: The reasons and factors that sowed the seeds and signs of this phenomenon began during the past year, specifically after the outbreaks and waves of the Intifada in Jerusalem and the rest of the West Bank, which spread to the Palestinian interior, and contributed to the outbreak of the Battle of the Sword of Jerusalem, and the creative process that manifested itself in the Freedom Tunnel. However, this phenomenon crystallized in its current form this year, particularly after the resistance operations that took place in the West Bank and the 1948 territories, and led to the death of about 20 Israelis. All of these reasons and factors raised the morale of the Palestinian people, restored confidence in their ranks, and led to more young people being drawn into the ranks of the resistance.

Second: The weakness of the authority contributed to the birth of this phenomenon, which was evident when its political project reached a dead end, its failure to adopt a new project, and the postponement or rather the cancellation of the elections for fear of their results. This led to further erosion of the authority’s legitimacy, and its loss of what remained of its popularity and prestige, especially in light of setting an economic security ceiling for the Palestinian-Israeli relations without any content or political horizon, in addition to the exacerbation of disputes and struggles over power and positions that intensified due to the succession struggle. It also appeared in the freezing of Tawfiq Al-Tirawi’s membership in the Central Committee of the Fatah movement, and before him the dismissal of Nasser Al-Kidwa, and in the failure to set a new date for holding the eighth conference of the Fatah movement, although two previous dates were set in the months of March and May, and they were not adhered to.

The powerlessness of the authority was evident as the sun in its standing idly by, as it is afraid of siding with its people, and what this could lead to in terms of confrontation with the occupation, and it is afraid of the consequences of its participation in extinguishing this phenomenon by doubling its role in arresting the resistance fighters and withdrawing their weapons before it expands, especially after it Former and current members of the security services participated in it, despite the occupation forces increasing the frequency of incursions, assassinations, arrests, house demolitions, closing institutions, expanding settlements, and proceeding with the implementation of the Judaization scheme of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa at unprecedented rates, and this created a vacuum in which the new brigades found It is necessary to try to fill it, and this called for new symbols to suit him, such as Fathi Khazem Abu Raad, who became a symbol and leader of this phenomenon.

Third: The increase in Israeli extremism, and the escalation of aggression in all its forms, play a prominent role in creating the phenomenon, for every action has an equal and opposite reaction in direction, including the escalation of military aggression, as happened in the daily incursions into Palestinian areas, including classified Palestinian cities. (A), It is assumed that, according to the Oslo Accords, the occupying forces do not enter it except in cases of hot pursuit.

Here it is useful to point out that what the Israeli governments have been doing since Benjamin Netanyahu came to power in 2009, and the government of Naftali Bennett and Yair Lapid, is no longer satisfied with managing the conflict as it was during the period since the signing of the Oslo Accords, until the governments of Netanyahu and Ehud Barak killed him. There is no longer any so-called "peace process".

Certainly, what the Bennett and Lapid government has done does not fall under the name of reducing the conflict, and the aim of these terms is to “mitigate” the continuous crimes committed by the occupation, as stated in the book “Trap 67” by Micah Goodman, and adopted by Benny Gantz, the Israeli Minister of War. What is happening on the ground indicates the escalation of the conflict, and its taking on new forms in which the occupation forces are trying to reduce collective punishments as much as possible, and limit their operations to areas that witness resistance in an attempt to drive a wedge between the "good, peaceful" Palestinian and the "bad, terrorist" Palestinian.

Fourth: There is no doubt that the regional and international developments taking place play a role in fueling the conflict, especially the Ukrainian war and its repercussions, and the race between war and peace in several files, such as: the Taiwan file, the demarcation of the maritime borders between Lebanon and Israel, and the Israeli nuclear file. Israel is trying to exploit what is happening in terms of global events and the world's preoccupation with them, and it is seeking in a race against time to impose more facts on the ground in Palestine. In order for the Israeli solution to be the only proposed and feasible solution in practice, as well as trying to proceed with the series of normalization and normalization that aims to marginalize the Palestinian cause in the Arab world, in order to help implement its larger goal, which is the liquidation of the Palestinian cause from its various dimensions, perceiving that the current historical moment is a typical opportunity to achieve it.

The birth contexts of the resistance phenomenon in the northern West Bank

In order for the phenomenon under study to be interpreted, it is necessary to see the context in which it came. It is noticeable that after the cessation of the second intifada in 2004, the resistance took different forms than it had in the past. Where we witnessed the form of the occupation launching the military aggression against Gaza again and again, with the continuation of the suffocating siege on the Strip, which turned it into the largest and longest prison in history, and we witnessed the form of the outbreak of the return marches, and the repeated donations of Jerusalem in order to defend the Palestinian Arab identity of Jerusalem and the protection of the holy sites, especially Al-Aqsa Mosque, as we witnessed waves of defense of land, property, trees, and stone in the face of the occupation and armed settlers from Ni’lin and Bil’in to Beita, Kafr Qaddum, Nabi Saleh, Beit Dajan, and many others, and to the outbreak of the knife uprising, which lasted for more than a year.

The resistance took the form of waves and outbursts, and did not turn into a comprehensive uprising, although fewer events than what happened during the previous years, specifically the current year, led to an uprising, especially in light of the implementation of the temporal and spatial division plan for the Al-Aqsa Mosque in preparation for its legitimacy, similar to what happened. It took place in the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

It is not possible to explain the fact that neither the waves nor the response to the repeated military aggression on the Gaza Strip turned into uprisings without seeing the impact of the absence of a comprehensive national institution, unified strategies, and unified leadership, as a result of the division and the conflict between the two authorities over representation, interests, and gains, and its continuity and deepening. As it exhausted the Palestinian energies in an internal conflict, and this makes the character of the resistance individual, local, and seasonal, and it is dominated by reactions, and it is difficult if the situation continues in this way to achieve decisive victories.

There is no doubt that the official leadership’s rejection of the option of resistance in all its forms, including popular resistance, except with formal and limited limits, is one of the most important reasons that prevent military flashes, waves, and confrontations from turning into a comprehensive uprising, whether popular or armed, or a combination of the two forms, as the case of Waiting plays a role in the survival of the state of tidal waves, as the opposition factions have not crystallized a comprehensive vision and a concrete plan.

In addition, the security strikes that the resistance factions are exposed to are from the occupation in the first place, and from the authority in the second degree, in addition to the more subjugation of the authority in the West Bank to the reality created by the occupation, and the unilateral control of Hamas over the power in the Gaza Strip, and its giving priority to the interests of the authority and its priority over the needs of the resistance. In addition to the obsolescence, sagging, lack of reform, renewal and change of the factions, and dissolving them in power or in the two powers; It is one of the most important factors that explain the phenomenon of waves that witness ebbs and flows. As soon as one wave, upsurge, or military confrontation ends, another begins.

If we deal with the position of the authority regarding the phenomenon, we will find that it is in an unenviable position. As it wants this phenomenon to end as quickly as possible. Because its continuation marginalizes the role of the PA, reduces the occupation’s dependence on it, and could lead to broadening its support among the Fatah movement and the security services, to the extent that a kind of rebellion may occur, or even the collapse of the PA, while it could employ it in the opposite direction to improve its position. As an indication of the failure of the occupation to cauterize the consciousness of the Palestinians and push them to abandon the resistance, and the importance of having a political horizon.

The authority carries out arrests and repression in places where it is able to do so, such as what happened in Qalqilya and Hebron, and hesitates after it tried to suppress this phenomenon in Nablus by arresting Musab Shtayyeh and Dean Tubaila. As there was a revolution against it; This prompted it to try to contain the phenomenon in order to end it by persuading its members to surrender themselves and their weapons, obtaining compensation and emptying them into the ranks of the authority and the security services, as happened previously at the end of the second intifada. It helps that this phenomenon is attended by large numbers of members of the Al-Aqsa Brigades, and members of the Fatah movement, especially in Nablus. It quickly suppresses and arrests them.

This phenomenon is spontaneous, individual, local, and cross-factional, despite the fact that there are members of the factions, but they often do not consider their factions a reference for them, and there is no crystallized intellectual structure or a specific organizational structure, and there are no senior leaders that can end the phenomenon through their arrest or assassination. And it defined a policy that was dominated by defense, until it moved recently, with its increasing influence and escalation of aggression, to the initiative to confront any unprecedented intrusion and even martyrdom, and by attacking with a focus on preventing settlers from visiting Joseph’s tomb, and preoccupying the occupation forces and settlers while they roamed the nearby, shared and surrounding streets. Especially in the city of Nablus, and it expanded and could expand, especially if the occupation resorted to escalating its aggression, and carried out operations as a defensive wall and collective punishments, or if the resistance caused human losses among the Israelis.

It also expanded due to its increased reliance on social media, to the extent that some Israeli circles called it the "Tik Tok Intifada", which is a double-edged sword that is harmful to security. It makes it easy to pursue the resistance fighters, identifying their locations, and the communication network between them, and is useful for mobilization, rapid deployment, mobilization, and media, as happened last Thursday, when the "Lions' Den" called for igniting tires in the areas around Joseph's tomb to prevent settlers and occupation forces from storming; Where great numbers answered the call, some of them, perhaps most of them, do not belong to the lions' den.

Despite the spontaneity, a good degree of awareness and organization emerged by considering the “den of lions” that they represent the generation of sacrifice, so they resist even martyrdom, and believe in the emergence of the generation of preparation after them, then the generation of liberation. That is, they do not follow calls and predictions about the demise of Israel in this year or the year after, and they welcome the aid from the factions, and the coverage they provide, especially the Hamas and Jihad movements, but they were keen to distinguish themselves from the factions by not covering the bodies of the martyrs with factional flags, and they are keen They focus their resistance on the occupation and the unity of the people in confronting it, and they reject calls to clash with power, and they encourage the phenomenon that this generation creates its symbols and heroes, as noted by focusing on the importance of the martyrs and their symbol Fathi Khazim, the father of the martyrs Raad and Abdul Rahman.

Possible scenarios

The first scenario: a temporary wave of resistance without an incubator

This is the most likely scenario, and it is based on the fact that the phenomenon of resistance is a wave that will reach its peak and recede sooner or later. There is no intellectual, political, leadership, programmatic, or organizational incubator to protect it and ensure its continuity. Even Hamas supports it and provides cover for it, but it does not adopt it and fears its consequences in terms of pushing Matters lead to a major confrontation prematurely, and to lure the Gaza Strip into the battle. As for the jihad movement, it is the only one that fully adopts this phenomenon and is involved in it, especially in Jenin, and it has no Arab, regional or international depth. Most of the parties are against it, while Iran and its allies are with it, but they are facing important choices and possibilities and a race between war and agreement, and in light of which the degree of its support for this phenomenon will be determined.

This phenomenon is characterized by publicity, and perhaps the burning of stages, without providing adequate protection. This enabled the occupation to hunt down its elements without major losses in its ranks. The popular incubator is not enough, especially in light of the political, economic, social and security structure that took shape after decades of occupation, and after division occurs; What created segments and individuals against the resistance, and they justify that it is without a horizon. In addition, the nature of the land and the intelligence and technological capabilities of the enemy; The occupation will enable it to strike it, as can be seen through the daily assassinations and arrests, without meaning that it will achieve its goals. The resistance continues, wave after wave. Because the reasons for its eruption are continuous.

The second scenario: a limited shift in the position of the authority

This scenario is based on a limited shift in the position of the leadership and the authority, by using this phenomenon to improve the position of the authority towards the occupation without engaging in it, and it may also be accompanied by a shift in the position of the factions towards this phenomenon. As it moves from support and providing cover to adoption and involvement in it, especially if the Algerian initiative makes progress, and this will give the phenomenon of resistance greater depth and support, but it is not sufficient to achieve a strategic victory.

The third scenario: the occurrence of dramatic local, regional and international developments

This scenario can be realized if dramatic developments occur in the escalation of the Israeli aggression, taking great steps in Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa in particular, and committing massacres or massive displacement from the interior to Area C in the West Bank, or annexing areas to Israel, especially if Netanyahu and the more right-wing win. Extremism in the upcoming elections, or major developments in the Ukrainian war, and at the level of regional files, such as the use of weapons of mass destruction, tactical nuclear or biological weapons, or the outbreak of a limited or wide regional war between Lebanon or Iran and its allies with the occupying entity.

This is a development with opportunity and caveats. The occupation can use any Palestinian military participation alongside the axis of resistance as a pretext to implement major steps in Jerusalem and against Al-Aqsa, annex areas of lands classified (C), and displace Palestinian citizens from within under security pretexts, and that it is a temporary measure and convert it into a permanent one if it is implemented.

Finally, the phenomenon of resistance in the north of the West Bank is very important, and it is liable to expand and spread, especially in light of the absence of any political horizon, and the increasing difficulty of the situation, even if it cannot achieve decisive and qualitative victories, as it keeps the ember of resistance burning, keeps the cause alive, and fails. Or impede the rapid implementation of occupation plans without a heavy price, raise morale and confidence, and lay the foundations for upcoming waves of gifts and confrontations.

As long as the factors and reasons that led to the outbreak of resistance wave after wave, uprising after uprising, and revolution after revolution, are on the path of a continuous comprehensive uprising, we will be able to win, and achieve self-determination, freedom, independence, return and equality, on the path to defeating the racist settler-colonial project, and establishing A democratic country in which everyone lives in equality and justice.

The Syrian pound recorded its lowest levels against the dollar on the black market

Damascus - (AFP) - The Syrian pound recorded, on Tuesday, a new record deterioration on the black market, crossing the threshold of five thousand against the dollar in a country mired in a conflict that lasted for more than 11 years, according to unofficial electronic applications that monitor the movement of the currency.

After years of war, Syria is witnessing a suffocating economic crisis, accompanied by a rise in the prices of basic materials, especially fuel.

During the past weeks, the exchange rate ranged between 4,300 and 4,700 pounds per dollar, while the official exchange rate approved by the Central Bank was equivalent to 3,015 pounds against the dollar.

And unofficial applications that monitor the black market, and are followed by Syrians, showed that the exchange rate at noon exceeded the threshold of five thousand pounds against one dollar.

Thus, the Syrian pound recorded its lowest level on the black market since the beginning of the conflict in 2011.

Since the start of the conflict, the exchange rate of the Syrian pound has deteriorated by nearly 99 percent on the black market.

Analysts believed that the deterioration of the value of the lira will not stop as long as "its causes continue."

The economist, Ammar Youssef, told AFP about several reasons, including "people's tendency to save in foreign currency," as well as "the economic sanctions imposed on the Central Bank, which also impede the movement of exports outside the country."

Damascus has always considered these sanctions to be the main reason for the continued deterioration of its economy.

The majority of Syrians today live below the poverty line, according to the United Nations, while commodity prices have doubled across the country over the past year.

12.4 million people suffer from food insecurity, according to the World Food Program, at a time when the country is recording a significant increase in inflation and prices, and a scarcity of fuel, which is reflected in the power outages for about twenty hours a day.

Somalia.. 13 dead in an attack targeting a hotel in Mogadishu

Mogadishu - (AFP) - Somali security forces are still striving Saturday evening to eliminate gunmen inside a hotel in the capital, Mogadishu, 24 hours after an attack in which at least 13 civilians were killed and claimed by the extremist Al-Shabaab movement .

The attackers were still holed up in the hotel early Saturday morning. The sound of bullets and intermittent explosions were also heard in the area.

"We have received information about the confirmation of the death of five more victims, which brings the total number of civilians killed by terrorists to 13," the official, Mohamed Abdel Qader, told AFP.

Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack. "A group of al-Shabaab attackers stormed the Hyatt Hotel in Mogadishu," it said in a brief statement posted on a supportive website.

"The security forces continued to neutralize the terrorists who were surrounded in a room inside the hotel," Abdel Qader added.
"The security forces rescued dozens of civilians, including children, who were trapped in the building," he added.

Somali police spokesman Abdel Fattah Aden Hassan told reporters that the bombing was carried out by a suicide bomber.

Witnesses also reported that a second explosion occurred outside the hotel a few minutes after the first explosion, resulting in casualties among aid workers, members of the security forces, and civilians who rushed to the scene following the first explosion.

The Islamist movement Al-Shabaab has been waging an insurgency against the Somali federal government supported by the international community for 15 years. In the statement claiming responsibility for the attack, it said that its fighters were "shooting indiscriminately inside the hotel."

Abdel Aziz Abu Musab, al-Shabaab's spokesman, announced on Saturday on Radio Andalus, affiliated with the movement, that his forces were still in control of the building and that they had "caused heavy losses" on the security forces.

This is the biggest attack on Mogadishu since the election of new Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in May. The government has not yet commented on it.

The witness, Hayat Ali, said that the security forces found three children, between the ages of four and seven, hiding in the hotel toilets and in shock, but they were able to meet their families later.

Hussein Ali, another survivor, told AFP that he performed the Maghrib prayer with his companions and then went to drink tea in one of the hotel's courtyards when they heard the first explosions.

He added, "I was able to escape to a nearby exit gate, away from the gunmen. They started shooting and I heard the sounds of shots behind me, but thanks to God (...) we managed to escape."
"Those who preferred to hide inside the building died, including one of my colleagues," he added.

The United States, Britain and Turkey, as well as the Intergovernmental Authority on Development in East Africa (IGAD), strongly condemned the attack.
The US embassy pledged to "continue to support Somalia to hold the killers accountable."

And in the Hamar Jajib neighborhood of the Somali capital, shells also fell on Saturday, wounding 20 people, including children, Mokawee Modi, who is in charge of the neighborhood administration, told AFP.

"Among the seriously injured people is a married woman and her husband, as well as a family," consisting of two parents and their three children, he said. No party has claimed the attack yet.

The director of the main hospital in Mogadishu, Mohamed Abdul Rahman Jama, said that at least 40 people were injured in the attack on the hotel and in the bombing of the Hamar Jajab neighborhood, receiving treatment in the hospital.

The movement's members were expelled from the main cities in Somalia, including the capital, Mogadishu, in 2011, but they are still deployed in vast rural areas and are capable of launching attacks against civilian and military targets. They have intensified their attacks in recent months.

On Wednesday, the US military announced the killing of 13 members of the Al-Shabaab movement who were attacking soldiers from the Somali army, in an air strike it launched on a remote area in this country located in the Horn of Africa.

A statement from the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) stated that the raid was launched on Sunday near Tidan, about 300 kilometers north of the capital, Mogadishu.

The United States has launched a number of air strikes against militants in recent weeks.

And in May, US President Joe Biden ordered the reinforcing of the US military presence in Somalia to help the local authorities confront Al-Shabaab, after his predecessor, Donald Trump, had ordered the withdrawal of the majority of US forces.

In recent weeks, Al-Shabaab militants have launched several attacks in the border area between Somalia and Ethiopia, which has raised fears that the movement may adopt a new strategy.

And last month, the new Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, said that putting an end to the Al-Shabaab rebellion required more than just a military strategy, but he stressed that his government would negotiate with the movement only at the appropriate time.

In early August, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Berri appointed former leader of the movement Mukhtar Robow as Minister of Religious Affairs in the Somali government.
The 53-year-old Robow, nicknamed Abu Mansour, publicly defected in August 2017 from the movement he helped found, and the United States had in the past allocated a financial reward of five million dollars for his arrest.

Biden's visit...sprinkle salt on the wound

Written by: Dr. Mustafa Barghouti

The US President, Joe Biden, began his visit to the region by announcing that he is a Zionist, and the Acting Prime Minister of Israel, Yar Lapid, told him: Rather, you are a great Zionist.

Then came the Israeli-American statement, which was provocatively called the "Jerusalem Statement," a Zionist par excellence, and fully adopting the Israeli vision. Biden did not hide that the most important and first goal of his visit was to support Israel politically, economically, militarily, and technologically, and to work not only to achieve normalization for it, but also to integrate it into the region.

When reading the joint American-Israeli statement, it is difficult for a person to find a big difference between the Israeli and American positions, as if he wanted to say that Israel is America, and America is Israel.

Biden's visit to Palestine, the Israeli entity and Jeddah can be summarized in the following points:

First - Absolute support for Israel, confirmation of the strategic alliance between the United States and Israel, and readiness to increase military support, which amounts to about four billion dollars annually, by another billion.

Secondly, the only thing that those who insisted on clinging to the illusion of American intervention to launch a political process were able to find was his indication that he supports the "two-state solution". However, this "something" needs scrutiny. The American-Israeli statement spoke in the form of two parties agreeing on all points, except for the point of the "two-state solution", where the two parties did not support this matter. Rather, the statement said that only Biden "supports that solution." This means that Biden could not force the Israeli government to merely mention the "two-state solution" and apologized for the impossibility of a political process.

But is there an actual political value to what Biden announced his support for the "two-state solution"? Absolutely not, because every time he mentioned the "two-state solution" he insisted on pointing out that this is a far-fetched goal that cannot be implemented anytime soon.

And if we combine this open postponement with the fact that Biden did not exercise, and did not want to exert any pressure on Israel to stop the settlements that devour every hour, every day, the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state, preying on the heads of witnesses, the “two-state solution”, then the real conclusion of the policy Biden and his administration give Israel free hand, and give it all the time it needs, to perpetuate the occupation and apartheid system in Palestine, and to cover it up with the illusion of a political process that will not take place, and an American intervention that will not take place.

Third - Biden tried to replace the rights of the Palestinians as a people seeking freedom and self-determination, and an end to occupation and racial discrimination, with daily life issues, which represent basic human rights, and do not need the effort of the head of a major country like the United States, such as the right of the Palestinians to longer working hours to end the deadly congestion at their only outlet. For the world, the bridge leading to Jordan, or their access to a 4G line, as if the American president accepted himself to play the role of a civil administration officer in the apparatus of the military occupation regime, in giving the Palestinians some crumbs, which is their human right. It is as if the Israelis insisted even on insulting Biden, despite his absolute loyalty to them, in the framework of asserting that they are the dominant and controlling force, as the crossing situation on the Jordan Bridge worsened after Biden’s promises of relief, until it suffocated with travelers and closed.

Fourth - The Israeli-American statement was a model of hypocrisy, to the extent that it made us laugh, and the worst misfortune is laughing, as the statement spoke of a commitment to democracy and the rule of law. But where was the rule of law in the American cover-up of the assassination of Sherine Abu Aqleh, and where was the adherence to democracy with the continued opposition of the two parties to the Palestinians' right to free and democratic elections, including in the occupied city of Jerusalem?

And where is the rule of law, in opposing the joint statement of the Palestinians' right to resort to the International Criminal Court and international law?

Fifth - The joint statement continued the method of hypocrisy, when it spoke of Israel's right to use force to protect what it called democracy (i.e. the continuation of occupation and apartheid), but it decided to deprive the Palestinians of their right to resist injustice and persecution' as the statement attacked not only armed struggle, but even more forms of Popular resistance is nonviolent, like the BDS movement, and recourse to international law.

This was not the only sign of American bias. Rather, it was evident in the symbolic significance of allocating three days to the Israeli side, compared to less than an hour and a half for the Palestinian side. It was also evident in refusing to allow journalists to ask any question to Biden on the Palestinian side, in contrast to what happened in the press conference with the Israeli prime minister.

Sixth - As the events confirmed, the central goals of Biden's visit were not achieving peace, but rather supporting Israel first, implementing (and expanding) what former US President Donald Trump started, with normalization and integration, with the Arab community at the expense of the Palestinian people's cause, and in an attempt to isolate and liquidate it. As part of the implementation of the "Deal of the Century".

Building a military + intelligence alliance, second, that includes countries in the Arab Gulf and Israel and pushes these countries into a clash with Iran, destroys their capabilities, makes them captive to Israeli security and military domination, and adds new billions to the profits of the military-industrial complex in the United States and its junior partner Israel, and attempts to limit From the relations of the Gulf states with other parties such as China and Russia.

And ensuring an additional flow of oil from the region, thirdly, helps solve Biden's economic crisis, with rising energy prices and rising inflation in the United States in an unprecedented manner since the 1980s, to remove the risk of the expected fall of Biden's party in the upcoming midterm congressional elections, and perhaps the presidential elections as well.

These goals were not achieved as Israel wanted, and as Biden wanted, with the exception of opening the airspace of the Arabian Peninsula to Israel, within the equation of Tiran Island – in exchange for aviation. With Iran, to serve Israel, and they did not seem willing to stop diversifying its economic relations with countries such as China.

In contrast to the expanded normalization and the expected programs, Palestine imposed itself on the summit, without attending, so the words were clear in affirming that ending the occupation and establishing an independent state is a precondition for all normalization. Rather, adherence to the Arab initiative reappeared, after some countries squandered it by entering into normalization with Israel, and all of this was a reflection of the realization of most of the gathered leaders and rulers of the feelings of solidarity in the hearts of their peoples with the Palestinian people and their just struggle.

On the issue of oil flows, Biden only obtained ambiguous positions that linked any increase in production to the approval of “OPEC +” countries, including Russia.

Unfortunately, the American president seemed weak, without a vision for his country, in the context of his rushing behind the Israeli vision and plans, and seemed weak in his absolute bias towards Israel, and its free hand to continue the occupation and apartheid, and seemed more than weak in his inability to impose American goals in the region, which the Israeli writer described Zvi Barel, in his article in Haaretz newspaper, entitled "Biden discovers that the rules of the regional game have changed, they are listening but not being implemented."

And the Palestinian people did not see in Biden’s behavior and positions anything but a sprinkling of salt on their open wound seventy-four years ago, and a useful dispelling of the illusion of betting on an American role to launch a “political process”, and an end to the dream of those who are still living in the hope of “negotiations” that will not materialize, after the failure of projects Settlement and compromise, at the hands of the monster of Israeli arrogance and racial expansion.

Escalation against the "Lions' Den" and the Israeli elections

Written by: Mustafa Ibrahim

At a time when Israel continues its terrorist military operations and daily killing, and plans to eliminate the Palestinian resistance in the northern West Bank, especially the "Lions' Den" group, as some Israeli analysts said, it has succeeded in describing itself as a new popular phenomenon. Despite the small number of its members, any claim about its destruction in the near future will not be reliable. Because there is no clear organizational or hierarchical background here.
Practically, it is an idea more than an organizational structure, and its being so difficult to stop its spread - and the fact that the solemn funerals in bidding farewell to the martyrs of the den, and the hundreds of Palestinians who crowd around the hospitals in Nablus, when the wounded and the bodies of the martyrs are brought. This indicates that there is an important phenomenon here, and the popularity of the den is increasing, and it will not be suppressed easily.
All that the den possesses is the patriotic spirit, determination and enthusiasm of the youth, who represent the people of their generation, their ambitions, their national choices, and their frustration with the outdated and eroding representative political structures. They are waging a resistance around which the Palestinian people have gathered, who see it as a noble guerrilla phenomenon that expresses their ambition to resist the occupation, and to win for national dignity, after the absence of such a resistance for two decades.
It is an expression of the rejection of the Palestinian reality and the state of disorientation experienced by the Palestinian leadership, factions and leaders, who have taken the liberty of issuing statements and statements of support, pride, congratulation and blessing for their operations and mourning the heroic martyrs among them.
The purpose of the factions is to invest the operations of the "Black Den" group, and there are allegations of support and financing for the "den".
Following the assassination of the martyr Tamer Al-Kilani, some Israeli jurists expressed their concern about the existence of legal issues, in terms of international law, that create difficulties for carrying out assassinations from the air in the West Bank, "contrary to the situation in the Gaza Strip."
However, the reality says the opposite. Rather, the statements of officials in the Israeli army and security services are the continuation of military operations, although Israeli analysts said that the assassination of the Israeli occupation, the martyr Tamer Al-Kilani, one of the leaders of the "Lions' Den", does not change the rules of the game. And that would enhance the strength of the organization.
And that Israel's decision to cover up the assassination does not indicate a high level of deterrence, on the contrary. And that this opacity greatly magnifies this small organization, for which Great Israel does not bear responsibility and uses techniques to assassinate senior resistance fighters.
It is noticeable that Israeli analysts linked the military operation carried out by the occupation forces in Nablus to the Knesset elections that will take place in five days. The relationship between the security effort and the political background cannot be ignored.
It is important for the government, a week before the elections, to highlight that it is fighting a new and growing (terrorist) threat. The IDF and the Shin Bet were asked to show results, which also explains the unusual presence of the Army Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, and the Shin Bet chief, Ronen Bar, in the Operations Command Room during the operation" in Nablus, last night.
And that the military operation in Nablus was an assassination operation, not an arrest operation, and that the army and the Shin Bet used intelligence capabilities and the eavesdropping unit 8200 in the Israeli army, and that the Shin Bet used, before the operation, the "Pegasus" program, which was developed by the Israeli cyber offensive company NSO to hack smartphones and spy on their holders and those around them. them.
Analysts wondered about the timing of the operation and the assassination of the activist in the "Lions' Den", the martyr Tamer Al-Kilani, two days earlier, and why this was not carried out until today against an organization whose capabilities are small, but it carried out armed operations in the Nablus area against the Israeli army forces and settlers.
The Israeli army has not done so until now, following a decision taken at the security level in Israel, with the support of the political level.
And that the use of the image circulated by the Israeli army to the Chief of Staff of the Army, Aviv Kochavi, the head of the Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, and the head of the Operation Division, in the Operations Command Room during the military operation in Nablus, will not serve the Israeli deterrence, and broadcasting pictures of a senior leadership of this level managing such an event against a small organization . On the contrary, this ennobles the lions' den even more.
Sometimes it seems that in the security apparatus they speak with two voices. On the one hand, assassins in official statements receive respectable descriptions and are portrayed as leaders of an organization, as if this is one of the prominent (terrorist) organizations in the world. On the other hand, other security officials recommend that this organization not be magnified in this way. And that exaggerated glorification of a successful military operation may return as a boomerang to the security apparatus, and develop the phenomenon of imitating and forming similar organizations in other areas in the West Bank. Although the speed in obtaining important intelligence information, which allowed the execution of an assassination by exploding a motorcycle, confirms that the level of professionalism is low.

Clashes in Iran as protests enter their fourth week

Paris - (AFP) - Protests over the death of Mahsa Amini have entered their fourth week despite a deadly security crackdown, with schoolgirls chanting slogans, workers striking and street clashes erupting across Iran on Saturday.

The death of the 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman on September 16th, three days after her arrest in Tehran at the hands of the morality police, who considered that she was not adhering to the rules of Islamic dress, sparked widespread public anger.

And Iran announced Friday that the investigation had concluded that Amini died as a result of the repercussions of a previous medical condition, and not as a result of "blows" to the head.

But the young woman's father, Amjad Amini, who claimed that his daughter was in good health before her arrest, rejected the result of the medical report in an interview with Iran International, a Persian-language TV channel based in London. He said, "I saw with my own eyes that blood was pouring from my ears and neck."

Activists and NGOs claimed that Amini suffered a head injury while in detention. The report of the Iranian Forensic Medicine Authority did not calm the streets in Iran, and outside the country, marches of solidarity with this protest also continued.

On Saturday, protests led by women continued, while conservative Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi stood to take a group photo with students at Al-Zahra University in Tehran on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.

Women were seen on the same university campus chanting "Death to the oppressor," according to the Oslo-based Human Rights Organization in Iran.

In the city of Saqiz, from which Amini originates, located in the province of Kurdistan (west), schoolgirls were heard chanting "Woman, life, freedom" while they marched in a street while waving their headscarves over their heads, according to video recordings that the "Henkaw" human rights group said were Recorded Saturday.

Videos circulated widely on Twitter of a man appearing to have been killed while driving his car in Sanandaj, while gunfire is heard in one of the recordings.

The provincial police chief, Ali Azadi, said the man was "killed by anti-revolutionary forces".

A widely circulated video showed angry men taking revenge on a member of the Basij militia in Sanandaj, surrounding him and severely beating him.

The cybersecurity and Internet governance monitoring organization "Netblocks" said that the Internet service was interrupted in Sanandaj, also noting that the national mobile phone network was disrupted.

Despite restrictions on internet service to hinder gathering attempts and prevent the spread of security crackdown images, demonstrators adopted new tactics to get their messages across.

"We are no longer afraid. We will fight," reads a huge banner hung on a bridge over the "Modarres" highway that passes through central Tehran, according to images circulated on the Internet and verified by AFP.

In another video, a man is shown changing the words of a large government banner that reads "The Police Serve the People" to "The Police are the Killers of the People."

According to the agency "ISNA" news, the presence of a heavy security deployment in the capital, Tehran, especially near universities. And she talked about the organization of "scattered and limited gatherings" in Tehran, "during which some demonstrators destroyed public property."

Hencaw, a Kurdish human rights organization based in Norway, stated that "large-scale strikes" were organized in Saqiz, Sanandaj and Diwandar in Kurdistan Province, in addition to Mahabad in West Azerbaijan Province.

It was reported that protests were organized in many neighborhoods of Tehran where bazaar shops were closed, as well as in Isfahan, Karaj, Shiraz, Tabriz and others.

"Videos from Tehran indicate that there are many protests, in every corner of the city, in small and large numbers," wrote US-based Iranian journalist Amad Mamaran on Twitter.

According to the Human Rights Organization in Iran, at least 95 demonstrators were killed in the security crackdown that fueled tensions between Iran and the West, while the official version speaks of about 60 deaths, including 12 policemen.

Raisi, a hardline conservative who in July called for the mobilization of all state institutions to impose the hijab, appealed for unity.

"Despite all the efforts of the haters, the strong and toiling people of the Islamic Republic of Iran will overcome the problems they face with unity and cohesion," he said Saturday, according to what was reported by the official website of the presidency.

The Iranian president also met on Saturday with the heads of the judicial and legislative authorities, according to the official IRNA news agency, and they stressed that "Iranian society needs cohesion and unity among all its components and all its segments, and rejects division raised by enemies against the Islamic Republic."

And a local media outlet quoted a municipal official as saying that the scenes published Friday of fountains in Tehran whose water turned into the color of blood after an artist dyed it red to form a reflection of the crackdown were false and that "there was no change in the color" of its water.

Iran has repeatedly accused foreign powers of sparking the protests and last week announced the arrest of nine foreigners from countries including France, Germany, Italy, Poland and the Netherlands.

On Friday, the French government advised its citizens visiting Iran to "leave as soon as possible," citing the risk of arbitrary arrest.

Likewise, the Dutch government has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to the Islamic Republic and to leave when it is safe to do so.

"There may be demonstrations in many cities of the country that could take a violent turn. The demonstrations are increasing," it said in a statement.

"The police sometimes act harshly and arbitrarily... Iranian authorities may also arrest people with foreign nationalities," she added.

In turn, the British-Iranian Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was detained in Tehran for six years until her release in March, called on the British government to respond to human rights violations in Iran.

"I want (the British government) to watch what is happening and not turn a blind eye," she told Sky News. "I want them to protect us. We cannot be careless about what is happening in Iran."

"If we talk about protecting the rights of our citizens, we have to do something about it. I think we have to hold Iran accountable," she added.

On the other hand, the Human Rights Organization in Iran quoted the non-governmental organization "Baluchi Activists Campaign" as saying that 90 people were killed in the suppression of demonstrations last week in Zahedan in Sistan-Baluchestan Province (southeast of the country), which has nothing to do with the death of Mahsa Amini. According to NGOs, the protests erupted after accusations that a police officer raped a teenage girl.

Gaza: A pause of support for the prisoners who are on hunger strike

Gaza - "Al-Quds" dot com - A stand was organized in the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday, in front of the headquarters of the United Nations High Representative in Gaza City, in support of the hunger-striking prisoners in the occupation prisons.

The participants in the vigil, which was organized by the "Handala" Center for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners, in cooperation with the Ministry of Prisoners and other parties, in the presence of the prisoners' families and faction leaders, raised pictures of the striking prisoners and slogans supporting their struggle.

In her speech, Kamal Hamad, a member of the Political Bureau of the Popular Front, said that the striking prisoners realize that this battle is harsh and long in light of the occupation's escalation of its procedures and practices inside prisons.

Hamad pointed out that the occupation continues with all methods of pressure to block the way for the striking prisoners to end their strike, either by isolating them from the rest of the prisoners, or by obscuring their health conditions, noting that the prisoners continue their steadfastness with unbreakable determination despite all forms of abuse, repression and the policy of medical neglect.

She pointed out that this event comes within a series of ongoing supportive and escalating events in the Gaza Strip in support of the captive movement, stressing that their battle is a battle for all Palestinians, holding the occupation fully responsible for their lives.

It called for effective and urgent action by the various political forces and all national work institutions, with the aim of supporting and aiding the administrative prisoners in the battle of the open strike they are waging.

Insulting the occupation army, not defeating it

Written by: Amer Abu Shabab

Events are escalating in the Palestinian West Bank, and the pace of the Israeli aggression, which has never stopped against the Palestinian people and their rights, is rising, in a battle that will not be the last, with the occupation insisting that the Palestinian West Bank is "Judea and Samaria" as a military, security and economic doctrine whose land is more important than Tel Aviv.

The events of the Palestinian cities revolting as a result of the occupation attacks, the absence of any horizon for peace, and the acceleration of the settlement and Judaization project in Jerusalem, Hebron, and Nablus, came after the Palestinian leadership announced in the largest international forums the suicide of the Palestinian hope for a two-state solution after a quarter of a century of lying.

So.. we are facing a wider round of aggression from which the occupation government wants to break the Palestinian will, and tame the national anger to accept the formula of work in exchange for security, or bread in exchange for right, and in the short term, the Israeli political components want to compete in the election market at the expense of Palestinian blood in front of a society driven by politics systematically towards more extremism, extremism and fear.

The current confrontations have brought the occupation army out of a state of rest and relaxation to the deployment of more than half of the forces in the streets and alleys of the West Bank, to pursue children and young men of stones and popular military cells in exhaustion of the occupation army and the security services, which is a very exhausting process, especially in light of the presence of an army leadership with political ambition in the next round of elections .

In the short and long term, the continued exhaustion of the occupation army with peaceful popular resistance will have a greater impact on the occupation forces, and constitute real pressure on them in confronting the masses of stones, popular marches, and active activities in areas facing settlement operations.

In addition, this type of resistance achieves a real media presence pressuring the occupying state and scenes of humiliation of an army trained in war confrontations, not confronting young men and women, arresting children and running after them, and most importantly, the bill from the blood of our youth will be less in a struggle that requires a long breath within a serious political vision.

The occupation army finds itself in a better position when the confrontation is with a military situation, which it works to amplify to be parallel to its strength, and to show the Israeli community and the world that it is in the midst of a military battle with armed men, and not with an occupied people who are facing an open war to erase their identity, confiscate their land, rob them of their freedom, and steal their rights. .

We have learned from previous experiences that the occupation army always needs a military target in order to extract its war arsenal, and lead a bloody and costly confrontation for our people, as happened in all the rounds since the Al-Aqsa Intifada 22 years ago, and in memory the battle of Jenin when the residents of the camp, including resistance fighters, clashed with the members of the security services in Legendary steadfastness, but it came at a great cost to our people.

It is true that our people have the legal right to armed struggle against the occupation and the other military arm represented by the settler army, but the balance of experience and the nature of the occupation require that we have another tactic to insult the occupation army, not defeat it and be inspired by the experience of the first intifada in 1987, away from all manifestations of militarization that first require unity Patriotism and real alignment around a national project that defines its tools and plan accurately, but now it is not required to lure towards what the occupation wants.

Finally, the national forces must control the anger of the street and melt it within the framework of popular resistance away from manifestations of weapons and militarization in order to prolong the battle and withdraw the Israeli pretexts for besieging cities, using economic pressure and mobilizing the bloodshed of the occupation army.

The national forces must restore consideration to the unified national leadership of the popular resistance, which announced a program of struggle based on the understandings of the Beirut conference, and fusion in a national, popular, peaceful, militant action and benefit from the president's speech at the United Nations and the moment of political frustration with the national authority instead of using these developments for internal quarrels .

We must get out of short-term battles and imaginary partisan gains, towards a liberating, participatory national path that will increase our people’s points in the course of their struggle with new real gains, and raise the level of global solidarity and Arab interest, which was not broken by the transient normalization agreements.

Because what is required is escaping from the bloody Israeli ambush, which will not end with the results of the elections, but rather the endeavor of the occupying state to implement the deal of the century through the operations of the Defensive Wall in the drawers of the occupation army, which sees the Russian model in annexing the land as an opportunity to resolve the demographic and geographical conflict in the Palestinian West Bank before any peace conference that may be imposed by balances International later.

The results of the Palestinian colony elections

Written by: Hamada Pharaoh

Without bidding on anyone, perhaps the total number of active Palestinian political forces, whether their parties operating in the 48 areas, or the factions operating in the 67 areas, may they realize, understand and act on the basis that: 1- Armed struggle, 2- Popular uprising, 3- Negotiations, 4- Elections are the means to reach the desired goal, and tools to achieve the aspirations of the Palestinian Arab people to restore their full rights in their homeland.

The aforementioned tools and means are not preliminary headings for adhering to this method or that, with this tool or another, as part of the Palestinian rights. They are not principled and not part of the rights. Rather, they are devoted according to the available data to achieving and restoring the rights of the Palestinian people, during the transitional phase, and the gradual and cumulative programming represented by Phased in order to achieve: 1- Equality in the 48 areas, 2- Independence for the 67 areas, 3- The return of refugees.

As long as this is the case, the Palestinian leaders are required to learn the lesson, understand the numbers and their implications, and the sins they recently committed in the 48 areas, which led to these results that strengthened the role of the Israeli right, increased its value, and its impact on the political and practical decision of the colony, and its negative repercussions on the Palestinian situation. The mistakes made by the Palestinian political movement gave the Israeli extreme right the positions it reached, one of the reasons for which is the lack of a sense of responsibility among the leaders of the three Palestinian lists, which led to the defeat of the National Democratic Assembly and its failure to exceed the threshold, and its failure to reach Parliament.

The assembly obtained 138,000 votes, which were completely lost because it did not reach the decisive rate, which is 3.25 percent of the number of those who reached the polls, which amounted to 4,436,365 votes, which means that exceeding the threshold requires 154,000 votes, and that one seat needs 36,000 voice.

The alliance of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality with the Arab Movement for Change, obtained 179 thousand votes, and succeeded with five seats, even if the alliance between the three parties remained as it was in the previous session 24 in 2021, and they had collectively obtained 212 thousand votes at the time, while in this session The total votes of the three parties reached 317 thousand votes, and this number gives them 9 seats in parliament instead of the 5 they obtained in the absence of the coalition and because of the division that occurred between them.

The Islamic Movement - the United List alone received 194,000 votes in this session, and if the alliance between the four parties had remained, they would have obtained 511,000 votes, as happened to them and to them in the 23rd Knesset session in March 2020, which again gives them 15 seats instead of ten. They obtained it in this session, and if the result were like this, the coalition of the extreme Israeli religious right and right, headed by Netanyahu, would not have reached what it has reached. Will the bright-minded leaders of the four Palestinian parties in Areas 48 realize the sin they committed, and I will not be extremist, harsh with them Because of my personal affection for all their leaders, and my appreciation for their militant political role, and if it were not for that, I would have said that they might realize the extent of the crime they committed against themselves and their people.

The arrest of the former public prosecutor and 64 police and military personnel in the case of the disappearance of students in Mexico

Mexico City - (AFP) - The Mexican judiciary ordered, on Friday, the arrest of the country's former public prosecutor and 64 police and military personnel in the case of the disappearance of 43 students in a school in Ayotzinapa, in the south of the country in 2014, a day after the publication of a report by an official committee that described the incident as a "state crime."

The Public Prosecution said in a statement that the former Public Prosecutor, Jesus Murillo Karam, was arrested on Friday evening at his home in Mexico City on charges of "causing enforced disappearance, torture and violations against the administration of justice," explaining that he did not show any resistance.

Then she announced that the judiciary had issued an order on Friday to arrest 64 army and police officials for their supposed involvement in the disappearance of the students, a case that caused great shock in Mexico and abroad. She explained that they are wanted on charges of "organized crime, enforced disappearance, torture, murders and misdemeanors against the administration of justice."
The identities and ranks of the wanted men were not revealed.

Maurio Karam, who was a public prosecutor under President Enrique Peña Nieto (2012-2018) and led a controversial preliminary investigation into these disappearances. He is a former member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party that ruled Mexico for 71 years without interruption until the year 2000.

He is the most important person arrested so far in the framework of these investigations, which were resumed from scratch after leftist President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador came to power in 2019.

The Public Prosecution issued arrest warrants for 14 members of the drug smuggling gang "Gueiros Unidos".

The case concerns a group of students from the Teachers' Training School in Ayotzinapa, in the state of Guehiro (south), who went on the night of September 26 to 27 to the nearby city of Iguala in order to "request" buses to go to Mexico to participate in a demonstration.

The investigation revealed that the police arrested 43 of them as part of a case linked to the drug trafficking gang "Guehiro Oneidos", then shot them and burned their bodies in a dump for reasons that are still unclear. Only the remains of three of them have been identified.

The official report of the "Truth Commission in Ayotzinapa" set up by President Lopez Obrador stated that Mexican soldiers bear part of the responsibility in this crime.

"Their actions, omission or participation allowed the students to disappear and be killed, as well as the killing of six other people," Alejandro Encinas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, said during the presentation of the report.

Encinas explained that "no work was carried out with a mandate from an institution, but there were clear responsibilities for elements" of the armed forces, without specifying whether these "elements" were still working in the army.

Encinas has several times described the Ayotzinapa case as a "state crime".

Another commission, the "Multidisciplinary Group of Independent Experts" set up under an agreement between the government of former President Peña Nieto and the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, asserts that soldiers falsified evidence found at the rubbish dump where the bodies were cremated.

The first official report by Maurio Karam, whose findings were rejected by independent experts and the families of the victims, did not hold the army responsible. That report accused a drug cartel of killing the students, believing them to be members of a rival gang.

Lopez Obrador stressed Friday that "making this terrible and inhumane situation public and punishing those responsible at the same time makes it possible to prevent such unfortunate events from happening again" and "strengthens institutions."

The Mexican president said he would continue to urge Israel to extradite the former head of the criminal investigation agency of the Attorney General's office, Tomas Zeron.

Waziron is accused of being involved in the Ayotzinapa case but maintains his innocence. This former senior official fled to Israel, where he sought asylum.

Developments of the Israeli security doctrine

Written by the captive: Muhammad Hamami

Today, the Palestinian territories are witnessing a state of discontent and anger, led by the Palestinian youth, who are losing hope in the future, a better tomorrow, and a stable and secure life, in light of the arrogance and violence of the occupation and its escalating military security arms with the orgy of settlers in Jerusalem and the West Bank in particular, not far from the siege of Gaza, and the situation is the same. He says: As long as the occupation continues and as long as the settlement engulfs the land, the future, and the prospects for a just solution, then there will be nothing left for us as young people but to think about escaping from the occupation and by every possible or impossible means without looking at the balance of power. .

Today, Israel operates in accordance with its security doctrine, on the basis of which all its security services, army, and state institutions are founded, and it only cares about consolidating and preserving the occupation. Therefore, the occupation army innovates for us every day a military operation with the names of what God has revealed in terms of authority, so the lawn mowing and the breakwater are two operations that have been introduced for a while in the West Bank and aim to weaken and amputate any struggle that may form against the occupation, which depends on the limited and quick operations of a number of its battalions that have become professional killers. And the assassination, and since the beginning of its two operations, it has killed more than 100 Palestinians under the pretext of security. The last of these operations was on October 1, 2022 AD in the city of Nablus, where a force from the special units of the occupation army surrounded and arrested one of the wanted persons, then withdrew, leaving behind the destruction as usual, and days before that, they stormed the city of Jenin and its camp, which resulted in four martyrs and dozens of injuries, and after that it withdrew to leave behind the smell of sadness. Destruction is in the air.

Israel's policy in the West Bank is nothing but a guarantee card for the continuity of its existence, which depends mainly on security and faithful faith, in which the danger is determined according to the degree of threat to the Israeli presence, and according to the capabilities, capabilities, and military strength of the opponent. Therefore, the Israeli security compass turned towards the danger represented by the Iranian nuclear file and its axis. The regional situation after the Arab Spring in 2011 AD, and the situation changed radically, and other dangers emerged represented by radical Islamic organizations that float to the surface at times and fade at others, and the collapse of some armies and regimes in the region, which in the past posed a real security threat, so that Iran’s nuclear file and its regional ambitions became the common Arab-Israeli danger. . Therefore, Israel sought to "sell" its relations with (moderate) Arab countries, using these fears and regional conditions, in an attempt to assume the role of policeman in the region in light of the noticeable absence of the American administration in the Middle East region, and Israel succeeded in attracting some Gulf countries such as the Arab Emirates and Bahrain publicly. And Qatar and Oman in a non-public manner and out of flirtation with the state that is economically balanced and on an Arab-Islamic level, which is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The talk began to take place through Yair Lapid, the director of the Israeli government’s work, about the two-state solution and other proposed solutions, such as the “Raymon” airport for Palestinian use, and facilities in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, among others. One of the proposals that did not leave the offices, and all of this, is to establish relations and an alliance (security and military) with Saudi Arabia, which, if implemented, will lead to the daring of more Arab and Islamic countries to declare succession.

Within this framework, Israel sought to withdraw pretexts from Hezbollah after its threat to Israel if the gas was extracted from the disputed water borders before the demarcation of the borders, and it postponed the extraction of gas time after time until it reached an Israeli-Lebanese agreement, and thus it is working to give sedatives to the northern and southern fronts. , mowing the lawn and breaking waves in the West Bank until now.

Israel is a government and army that does not see any problem or harm in what settlers are doing in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, due to the compatibility of visions, interests and goals between the government and the settlers who are the vanguard of the state and its spearhead and implementers of Zionist goals. And to achieve the government's policies and desires, including the constant pressure on the Palestinians to force them to voluntarily emigrate. The possibility of Israel exploiting the current regional and global circumstance and an auxiliary circumstance that it might create, such as directing a military strike against Iran or the outbreak of a third world war, and its evidence and indicators are numerous, such as the Russian-Ukrainian war and the escalating tension between China and the United States of America, to revive Plan D and start ethnic cleansing in the West Bank Just as it happened in the years 1947-1948 AD, and it is thus the core of the Israeli security doctrine, restoring one of its most important means, which is ethnic superstition, and introducing others.

Israel dealt with these emerging dangers by developing its pillars and security doctrine. After the 2006 Lebanon War, the pillar of defense was added alongside the previous pillars of the security doctrine, deterrence, warning, and decisiveness. It was added to it after the Arab Spring 2011, along with the strategic alliance with the United States, the alliance with the countries of the region, cyber, space and air. The sea, the land and the underground "tunnels", and succeeded in overcoming the danger of radical Islamic organizations at the level of the Syrian front in northern Israel and in southern Israel opposite Sinai and in Iran succeeded in targeting scientists, targeting nuclear facilities and recruiting agents to collect information, while it succeeded in selling some Gulf countries for the benefit of its goals and may exploit it to strike Iran militarily, using its airports, cut off the Iranian military supply lines to Hezbollah in Syria and hit the tunnels on the Lebanese-Israeli border.

Israel relied on drawing lessons and avoiding mistakes after every confrontation. Accordingly, it spent billions of dollars on defense systems and their development, developing systems to detect and destroy tunnels in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, in addition to developing the Iron Dome and Arrow systems as anti-surface missiles and others. In this regard, and also to train the ground forces and transfer the army from being the people’s army to a small, professional and specialized army. It succeeded to a large extent in all of the above except for the ground force. The ground army failed in the military operation “Protective Edge” in 2014 against the Gaza Strip, and after eight years From the preparation, training and planning that the army received, which followed the Second Lebanon War in 2006 AD, with a clear difference in numbers, equipment, strength, and capabilities between Hezbollah and the resistance factions in Gaza, with superiority in favor of the party.

In conclusion, Israel interacts with all changes and developments in the region and the world on the basis that they are security threats to its state, which always pushes it to develop its tools and means to confront these changes and to carry out developments on the Israeli security doctrine, one of which is the development of a pillar that states sell for the benefit of its security. This is confirmed by Israel expanding its relations with Arab and Islamic countries outside the region, east and west, in order to confine the conflict to the Palestinian and not the Arab-Islamic framework, and thus Israel singles out the Palestinian people and the Palestinian cause, which is confirmed by all military measures and operations today against the Palestinian people and the resistance of its people, and towards more He sowed the seeds of a future intifada for the Palestinian people, and it is the seed whose harvest time has come for a new, third Palestinian intifada, the essence of which only its men know. Freedom for Palestine.
