While an official Israeli political official said that Tel Aviv will not commit to Egypt or any party to stop the assassinations in exchange for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.


In a statement distributed by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the official confirmed that no ceasefire agreement had been reached, indicating that contacts are continuing with Egypt and no commitments or promises have been made to it.


He said: "We did not commit to stopping the assassinations. They can demand that, but we will not abide."


Regarding handing over the body of the martyr Khader Adnan, the official said: "Israel did not agree to hand over his body within the framework of the ceasefire," referring to the possibility of handing him over at a later date.


This morning, direct negotiations began between the Egyptian intelligence and the leadership of the Islamic Jihad movement, following the continuous Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip.


Egypt is seeking through these direct negotiations to try to achieve progress in the stalled negotiations that it has been leading since last Tuesday evening in an attempt to prevent an escalation of the situation in the Gaza Strip.

Islamic Jihad denies the arrival of bran to Egypt

The Islamic Jihad Movement denied, on Wednesday, that its Secretary-General Ziyad al-Nakhala had arrived in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.


The movement said in a brief statement that this news is not true.


Some media reported that Al-Nakhala had arrived in Cairo for talks after yesterday's developments.
