5 injured in a police vehicle explosion in Damascus
A police vehicle exploded today (Wednesday) within the campus of the Barzeh district police station in the Syrian capital, Damascus, wounding an officer and four members, according to the Syrian official media.
The Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the Ministry of the Interior as saying in a post on its page that a police vehicle exploded this morning within the campus of the Barzeh Police Station in Damascus, injuring an officer and four members of varying degrees.
According to the ministry, forensic evidence and the Damascus Fire Brigade were immediately present, and the injured were taken to hospital.
The ministry said that investigations are still continuing to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
The capital, Damascus, remained safe after the defeat of the armed opposition factions in Eastern Ghouta, in the eastern countryside of Damascus, the Yarmouk camp, and Al-Hajar Al-Aswad, south of Damascus, in 2018, and limited explosions occurred without causing major damage.
On the second of last April, an explosive device exploded in a car in the Al-Mazzeh neighborhood, west of Damascus, causing material damage.
