It is unlikely that Netanyahu will visit Washington without an invitation from Biden

Experts in Washington deplored that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Washington without an official invitation from US President Joe Biden to him to visit the White House, when such a visit would carry burdens and problems that may have unforeseen consequences for Netanyahu, who faces many political and judicial problems in Israel and in the Middle East. United State.

Vice President of the "Carnegie Endowment for International Peace", Aaron David Miller, who worked as a US official in peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israel in the eighties and nineties of the last century, said on Monday: "I do not think that Netanyahu will visit Washington, or that Netanyahu will accept the invitation (Leis Kevin) is disastrous to visit Washington, because coming to Washington without visiting the White House makes Netanyahu look weak."

Miller added that if Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu accepts McCarthy's invitation, he (Netanyahu) will be seen as mismanaging US-Israeli relations, and it is expected that there will be massive protests against him wherever he goes (in the United States), which will complicate his problems. .

It is noteworthy that the Republican Speaker of the US House of Representatives, John Boehner, invited Netanyahu in 2015 to address the US Congress to oppose and thwart the efforts of the administration of then US President Barack Obama and his vice president, Joe Biden, to reach an agreement with Iran regarding its nuclear program (at the time), which left great bitterness. When Obama and Biden, experts believe that it still bothers them.

Experts add that the matter is more complicated at the present time, especially since there is no excuse for negotiations to reach a new agreement with Iran, as was the case in 2015 prior to the signing of the agreement.

The controversy erupted Monday in the American capital, after the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Republican Kevin McCarthy, who is visiting Israel to participate in its founding celebrations, told the right-wing newspaper "Israel Hayom" on Sunday that he would invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Washington to deliver a speech before Congress if he did not US President Joe Biden invited Netanyahu to visit the White House soon.

Biden has not yet invited Netanyahu to visit the White House, as is customary, due to the ongoing demonstrations against Netanyahu’s decision regarding judicial reforms that the Biden administration does not support.

For his part, a spokesman for the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, said on Monday evening that he believes that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the White House at some point, but there is no schedule now for the date of such a visit.
