Crowds in the Iranian capital Tehran are preparing today, Thursday, to participate in the funeral of the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, Ismail Haniyeh, and his companion after their assassination yesterday morning in the north of the capital.

Haniyeh's body and that of his companion were placed in a public Islamic shrine in the Iranian capital, Tehran, for a final farewell.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is scheduled to deliver a speech during the funeral.

Haniyeh's body and his companion will later be transferred to the Qatari capital, Doha, for funeral and burial there.
