Breaking news| News about hijacking an Israeli ship, “Galaxy Leader,” by Yemeni Houthi group, with 22 people on board (Al-Arabiya)
Axios quoted an Israeli source as saying that the Houthis attacked a ship partly owned by an Israeli company and took control of it.
Israeli Channel 12 reported that Tel Aviv was investigating the Houthis’ seizure of an Israeli cargo ship in the Red Sea.
The Walla website quoted an Israeli official as saying that the Houthis attacked a cargo ship partly owned by an Israeli company and without any Israelis on board.
News spread about the hijacking of an Israeli ship called Galaxy Leader by the Houthi group, and Al Arabiya indicated that there were 22 people on board the ship.
This comes a few hours after Yahya Saree, the military spokesman for the Yemeni Houthi group, announced that it would target ships owned or operated by Israeli companies.
He explained in a statement today: Based on religious, national, and moral responsibility, and in view of the brutal Israeli-American aggression that the Gaza Strip is being subjected to, with daily massacres and genocide, and seeking help for our oppressed people in Gaza, Al-Houthi announces that it will target all of the following types of ships:
1- Ships carrying the flag of the Zionist entity
2- Ships operated by Israeli companies
3- Ships owned by Israeli companies
