On Thursday, the occupation army claimed to have killed 3 “militants” who attempted to enter Israel from the Rafah area in the southern Gaza Strip.
The army statement indicated that its forces, which were searching the area, "encountered two gunmen who opened fire at the army. The forces responded to them, and after air support came, the gunmen were killed."
The statement continued, "A third gunman was killed a short time later, after an Israeli tank opened fire on him."
The Times of Israel newspaper indicated that the army is investigating whether a “fourth gunman” had fled the scene, but remains inside the Gaza Strip.
The army confirmed that the gunmen were unable to cross into Israel.
