Netanyahu on Khamenei's assassination: I instructed the army not to grant immunity to anyone in Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu again hinted Thursday at the possibility of assassinating Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, saying he had instructed the military that "no one in Iran has immunity."

In an interview with the official Israeli Broadcasting Authority, in response to a question about previous statements by his Defense Minister, Yisrael Katz, regarding the assassination of Khamenei, Netanyahu said, "I have instructed the army that there will be no immunity for anyone in Iran."

Netanyahu added, "There is no need to disclose more than that. Let the actions speak for themselves."

Earlier Thursday, Katz threatened for the first time to assassinate Khamenei, indicating that this was part of the objectives of the Israeli military operation against Iran.

Netanyahu also hinted earlier Thursday at the possibility of assassinating Iran's Supreme Leader during a meeting with journalists at Soroka Hospital in southern Israel.

Asked about the possibility of assassinating Khamenei, Netanyahu told reporters: "No one is immune. I prefer not to dwell on headlines and let actions speak for themselves."

Regarding targeting Iran's nuclear program, Netanyahu claimed during the interview with the Israel Broadcasting Authority that Israel "can strike all of Iran's nuclear facilities."

Regarding "toppling the Iranian regime," Netanyahu claimed that "the primary goal is to eliminate the nuclear threat, and secondarily, to eliminate the ballistic missile threat."

Claiming that Israel does not aim to overthrow the Iranian regime, he said: "Destabilizing the regime may be an outcome, but it is not the goal. That is a matter for the Iranian people to decide."

Netanyahu said that Israel did not wait for a "green light" from the United States to launch an attack on Iran, but he praised the support of the Trump administration, saying, "They are helping us tremendously in defense. There are American pilots intercepting the drones."

He added, "The United States is helping us on the defense level through the THAAD (air defense) system."

Since dawn on June 13, Israel, with US support, has launched a massive attack on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, military leaders, and nuclear scientists. Tehran responded by launching ballistic missiles and drones into Israeli territory, in the largest direct confrontation between the two sides to date.

According to the latest official death toll announced by the Iranian Ministry of Health on Monday, the Israeli strikes killed 224 people and injured 1,277 others, most of them civilians.

In the absence of any new official updates, the Washington-based Human Rights Activists reported that the death toll in Iran had risen to approximately 639, with more than 1,329 injured, as of Thursday morning, according to a tally based on field documentation.

In contrast, the latest Israeli estimates, citing Hebrew media outlets, including Channel 12, indicate that 25 people were killed and more than 800 others were injured as a result of the Iranian strikes, which included intense waves of missiles and drones.

The risk of an escalation of the conflict looms, with Western and Israeli reports suggesting the United States could join Israel in its aggression against Iran. This coincides with statements by US President Donald Trump calling on Tehran to surrender unconditionally and threatening to target Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Intensive Israeli airstrikes target Iranian nuclear sites, and Tehran warns Washington.

Israel bombed nuclear targets in Iran on Thursday, while Iranian missiles hit an Israeli hospital overnight, as the week-long war escalates with no sign of abating.

Iran yesterday vowed to make Israel "regret and pay the price" for its attacks on the seventh day of the unprecedented war between the two countries.

Iranian media reported that thousands of people were fleeing Tehran and other major cities as Iran and Israel exchanged new missile strikes despite US President Donald Trump's call for Iran to surrender unconditionally.

Israel said Thursday it had struck Iran's Natanz and Isfahan nuclear sites. A military spokesman initially said the attack also hit Bushehr, the site of Iran's only operating nuclear power plant, but a spokesman later said it was a mistake to say so.

Earlier, Israel announced that it had struck the Arak (Khandab) heavy water reactor overnight, where Iran was building a heavy water reactor. It stated that the goal was to prevent the reactor from being rehabilitated for military purposes. Heavy water reactors produce plutonium, which, like enriched uranium, can be used to make the core of an atomic bomb.

Under the 2015 nuclear agreement, Iran agreed to redesign the reactor and pour concrete into its core to prevent its use. However, a former Iranian official revealed in 2019 that Tehran had stockpiled replacement parts for later restart.

State television reported that the facility was evacuated before the attack, and no damage was reported to the surrounding civilian areas. It also indicated that the site does not currently pose a radioactive risk.

Following the airstrike that damaged Soroka Hospital in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Tehran's "tyrants" would pay "the full price."

The UN's International Atomic Energy Agency reported that it had received information that the heavy water research reactor had been bombed, but that it did not contain radioactive material. It had not received any information that another heavy water facility there had been bombed.

Confrontation with missiles and drones

Iranian media reported that air defenses shot down an Israeli drone over the Arak reactor. It was also reported that Israeli drones were shot down over Baghershahr and Kahrizak, south of Tehran, after being detected immediately after entering the capital's airspace. Reports indicated that air defenses shot down a "Haroon" drone.

Iran claims to have shot down three F-35 fighter jets during the seven days of war. It also noted the crash of more than ten drones, some of which were advanced.

Information outage

Seven days into the conflict, assessing the impact of the bombing in Iran has become increasingly difficult, as authorities impose strict restrictions on information in an attempt to control public opinion and prevent panic. Official casualty counts have ceased, images of the devastation have disappeared from the media, the internet has been almost completely cut off, and photography in affected areas has been banned.

According to a Washington-based Iranian human rights organization, at least 639 people were killed in Iran, including 263 civilians, and more than 1,300 others were injured. In response, Iran launched more than 400 missiles and hundreds of drones, killing at least 24 people in Israel and wounding hundreds more.

Iranian police announced Thursday the arrest of 24 people on charges of spying for Israel and working to distort the country's image, according to a statement carried by the Tasnim news agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards. "Twenty-four people were arrested who were spying for the Zionist enemy in person and online," said Kioumars Azizi, commander of the western Tehran police, in the statement. "They were trying to destabilize public opinion and distort and destroy the image of the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Katz threatens Khamenei

On the Israeli front, a new wave of Iranian missiles caused damage to the main hospital in southern Israel and multiple injuries, in addition to targeting residential buildings near Tel Aviv. The Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, reported that "advanced missiles are roaring toward Tel Aviv," while Iranian state television broadcast live footage from Israeli cities.

The Iranian General Staff's operations room said in a statement, "Our forces launched precise and direct strikes against Israeli enemy positions in response to its attacks, and we affirm that operations will continue until the threat is completely eliminated." It added, "Any direct intervention will be met with a harsh response and will expand the scope of the confrontation."

An Israeli military official said that Iran used a missile with multiple warheads in its latest attack, posing a new challenge to defense systems, as the Iron Dome is unable to deal with more than one warhead at a time.

For its part, the Revolutionary Guards' media reported the use of the Sejjil ballistic missile, which is launched from mobile platforms. The Sejjil ballistic missile has a range of 2,000 kilometers and was first tested in November 2008. It consists of two stages and a combined solid-fuel engine.

Netanyahu vowed to eliminate the Iranian nuclear and missile threat. Speaking to reporters outside Soroka Hospital, he said, "Our goal is twofold: to eliminate the nuclear threat and the ballistic missile threat. We are in the final stages of eliminating this threat." He added, "We are fully committed to eliminating the nuclear threat."

Netanyahu has previously said that Israeli military strikes could topple the Iranian regime, and that Israel will do everything in its power to eliminate the "existential threat" Tehran poses to Israel. He said at a press conference on Monday, "The Iranians are realizing that their regime is much weaker than they thought, and this could lead them to certain outcomes."

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Thursday that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei "cannot be allowed to remain" in power, days after reports that the United States had rejected an Israeli plot to assassinate him.

The movements of Iran's supreme leader, who has not left the country since assuming office in 1989, are subject to top-secret security measures during times of crisis. US officials said this week that President Donald Trump rejected an Israeli plan to assassinate Khamenei, while he later said there was no current intention to kill him, "at least not at this time." Speaking to reporters in Holon, near Tel Aviv, after a hospital in the southern city of Beersheba was hit in an Iranian attack this morning, Katz said: "A regime like Khamenei's is very dangerous. Its ideology aims to destroy Israel, and it constantly invests all of its state's resources to achieve such a goal." He added: "Such a person cannot be allowed to remain."

In response, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it had targeted an Israeli military and intelligence headquarters located near the hospital. An Israeli military official denied the presence of any military targets nearby and said the attack on the hospital was deliberate.

The Israeli military announced that air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel on Thursday afternoon after detecting missiles launched from Iran.

"Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force is intercepting the missiles... to eliminate the threat," the army said in a statement.

Israeli air and missile attacks on Iran over the past week have eliminated the top leadership of the Revolutionary Guard, damaged its nuclear capabilities, and killed hundreds. In response, Tehran's retaliatory attacks have killed more than 20 civilians in Israel.

"backstage"

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi wrote on Twitter: "Iran will continue to exercise its right to defend itself with dignity and courage, and we will make the aggressor regret its grave mistake and pay the price," accusing his country's arch-enemy, Israel, of seeking to "expand the conflict in the region and beyond."

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Abdolrahim Mousavi, said that Iran "will continue to attack any Israeli target without any restrictions."

Iran's Supreme National Security Council said, "The response will continue until the enemy is punished and pays the price for its actions." It added, "If the Zionist enemy commits a different type of aggression, it will be met with different responses that have been prepared in advance. If a third party intervenes in this aggression, it will be confronted immediately, according to a predetermined plan," according to the state-run Mehr news agency.

Iran's Guardian Council warned the United States on Thursday that any military intervention alongside its ally Israel would be met with a "harsh response."

"The criminal US government and its foolish president must know for certain that if they make a mistake and take action against Iran, they will face a harsh response from the Islamic Republic of Iran," the council said in a statement.

For his part, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi warned against any direct US intervention in the conflict between Israel and Iran, saying that Tehran has "all necessary options on the table."

"If America wants to intervene directly to support Israel, Tehran will be forced to use its tools to teach the aggressors a lesson and defend itself... All necessary options are on the table for military decision-makers," he was quoted as saying by state media. "Our advice to Washington is not to intervene at least if it does not want to stop the Israeli aggression."

"Point of No Return"

Israel launched its unprecedented attack on Iran, asserting that it possessed intelligence indicating that the Iranian nuclear program was approaching the "point of no return." On Thursday, Iran accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of being a "partner" in Israel's "war of aggression," in light of its report on the Iranian nuclear file that preceded the Israeli strikes on Tehran.

"You have betrayed the non-proliferation regime and made the IAEA a partner in this unjust war of aggression," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said in a post on Twitter addressed to IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.

In a post on X, Baghaei responded to a CNN interview with Grossi, in which he said there was no evidence of systematic Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons.

"This came too late, Mr. Grossi," Baghaei said, adding that the IAEA's decision to declare Iran in violation of its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty was used by Israel as a pretext to launch its attack on Iran.

For his part, former Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called for Grossi's dismissal and prosecution, writing on Twitter: "Grossi must be prosecuted for his complicity in the killing of innocent people in Iran, as a result of the Israeli aggression for which his report was used as a pretext."

For his part, Ali Larijani, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader and former Parliament Speaker, issued a threat to Grossi in a video message, saying, "The day will come when these people will be held accountable."

Russian warning

Meanwhile, Russia warned the United States on Thursday against military intervention against Iran, considering any such move "extremely dangerous" and with unpredictable consequences, according to Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

This comes amid speculation that Washington might join the war alongside Israel, although Trump has not ruled out a confrontation with Tehran over its nuclear program.

Trump kept the world in the dark about whether the United States would join Israel in airstrikes on Iran. He backed away from a proposal to use diplomatic means to quickly end the war, hinting at the possibility of the United States joining. He spoke on social media on Tuesday about the idea of assassinating Khamenei, then demanded Iran's unconditional surrender.

Although Tehran maintains that its nuclear program is peaceful, 60 percent uranium enrichment brings it technically closer to the 90 percent level used in nuclear weapons. Iran is the only non-nuclear state to enrich to this level.

In contrast, Israel is the only country in the Middle East believed to possess nuclear weapons, although it has not officially acknowledged this.

Khamenei has rejected US calls to abandon the program, warning that any US military intervention would cause "irreparable damage."

Trump said he was not just seeking a ceasefire, but a "much bigger" agreement, and did not rule out the United States formally joining the Israeli campaign.

In a sign of a possible diplomatic opening, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced his intention to meet with his counterparts from Britain, France, Germany, and the European Union representative in Geneva tomorrow, Friday.

Three diplomats told Reuters that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Araghchi have spoken by phone several times since Israel began its attacks on Iran last week, in an attempt to reach a diplomatic end to the crisis.

The diplomats, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue, said that Araghchi said that Tehran would not return to negotiations unless Israel stopped the attacks that began on June 13.

They added that the talks included a brief discussion of a US proposal presented to Iran in late May aimed at establishing a regional nuclear alliance to enrich uranium outside Iran, an offer Tehran has so far rejected.

A regional diplomat close to Tehran said that Araghchi told Witkoff that Tehran "could show flexibility on the nuclear issue" if Washington pressured Israel to end the war, adding that "the (first) contact was initiated by Washington, which also proposed a new offer" to overcome the deadlock over conflicting red lines.

A European diplomat said, "Araghchi told Lutkov that Iran is ready to return to the nuclear talks, but it cannot do so if Israel continues to bomb it."

"Civilians pay the price"

The United Nations on Thursday condemned Israel and Iran's treatment of civilians as collateral damage in their ongoing war, urging maximum restraint.

"It is horrific to see civilians being treated as collateral damage in the course of hostilities. The threats and inflammatory rhetoric from senior officials on both sides indicate a disturbing intent to harm civilians," UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk said in a statement.

The United States fears that Israel will run out of interceptor missiles.

The Wall Street Journal reported on June 18 that a US official told it that the Israeli military's Arrow missile defense system was "running out of interceptor missiles."

According to the newspaper, this issue raises concerns about Israel's ability to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles.

"The United States has been aware of the capability issues for months," the US official said. "Washington has bolstered Israel's defenses with land, sea, and air systems. Since the conflict escalated in June, the Pentagon has sent more missile defense assets to the region, and now there is concern that the US will also deplete its interceptor missiles."

"Neither the US nor the Israelis can continue to intercept missiles all day long," Tom Karako, director of the Missile Defense Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told the Wall Street Journal.

He added, "The Israelis and their friends must move quickly and consciously to do whatever is necessary, because we cannot just wait."

Washington has deployed additional forces and fighter jets to the region and is participating in Israeli efforts to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles, which have been launched at Israel daily since the war began on June 13.

A former US official told a correspondent for Al-Quds newspaper in Washington: "I don't think this is entirely true. Perhaps the goal behind statements like this is to create additional leverage to justify the US's rapid involvement in the war alongside Israel."

"Interceptor missiles are a complex system, and contain very sophisticated technologies, but the United States certainly maintains large stockpiles of them, many of which are stored in so-called early deployment sites (for any confrontation) - even in Israel, and its factories have the capacity to double production if needed," the official, who requested anonymity, added.

According to the Wall Street Journal, "The Pentagon has sent more missile defense assets to the region, and there is now concern that the United States might destroy interceptor missiles as well."

Tel Aviv claims to have achieved complete air superiority over Iran and to have destroyed approximately one-third of Tehran's ballistic missile arsenal, previously estimated at around 2,000 missiles capable of reaching Israel.

Israeli analysts say that more than half of Iran's arsenal remains intact, and that an unknown amount may be hidden in underground facilities.

“Iran has to make very difficult calculations because it has a limited number of missiles and, given their rate of fire, cannot replenish their stocks in real time,” Fabian Hinz, a military analyst at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, told the Washington Post on Tuesday.

As a result, Iranian forces have significantly reduced the number of missiles they have fired daily at Israel over the past two days, compared to what was launched in the first three days of the war.

However, the Washington Post notes that Israel will soon have to begin rationing its interceptor missiles, citing some assessments that the Israeli military cannot maintain its missile defenses for more than 12 days without immediate resupply from the United States.

"They'll need to choose what they want to intercept. The system is already overloaded," an anonymous source familiar with intelligence assessments told the newspaper. While Israel has managed to shoot down several of the rockets fired so far, many have fallen short, causing significant damage and Israeli casualties, and representing a catastrophic failure for Tel Aviv's missile defense system.

Iran has vowed to continue responding to the violent Israeli campaign against it, and has warned of targeting US bases in the region if Washington decides to directly intervene in the war.

75 dead in the occupation's massacres, including 22 starving people in Gaza.

The Israeli occupation army committed new massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, resulting in the deaths of 75 Palestinians, 53 of them in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

Medical sources said that 22 of the martyrs were among those waiting for aid, noting that Al-Awda and Al-Aqsa Martyrs hospitals received 16 martyrs and dozens of wounded as a result of the occupation army's firing of bullets and grenades at those waiting for aid near a distribution center near the Netzarim axis (central Gaza Strip).

Eyewitnesses reported that occupation forces stationed around the Netzarim axis opened machine gun fire on hundreds of young men who had gathered to wait for the opening of the American aid center.

They added that occupation drones dropped a number of bombs on the youths, resulting in deaths and injuries.

The dead and wounded remained on the ground for several hours until ambulance crews were able to retrieve them due to the intensity of the gunfire and the dangerous nature of the area, according to witnesses.

Five Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, while the occupation army blew up houses east of Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Strip.

Meanwhile, Palestinian sources reported from Al-Shifa Hospital that 15 people were killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes on Al-Shati refugee camp and Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City.

In Khan Yunis, six Palestinians were killed and dozens injured when an Israeli vehicle bombed people waiting for aid on al-Tina Street, southwest of the city in the southern Gaza Strip.

Beyond the supervision of the United Nations and international relief organizations, Tel Aviv began implementing an aid distribution plan on May 7 through the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which is supported by Israel and the United States but rejected by the United Nations.

Targeting operations linked to the so-called "US-Israeli aid traps" have resulted in the deaths of 300 Palestinians, the injury of 2,649 others, and the disappearance of nine people since the launch of this plan.

A medical source reported on Thursday that three Palestinians were killed and several others injured when a helicopter fired a missile at an apartment building near the Palestine Mosque in central Gaza City.

The occupation army sponsors organized gangs that loot aid in the Gaza Strip, and has officially acknowledged funding, arming, and protecting them during their operations.

Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.

The genocide, backed by the United States, left more than 185,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing. Hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine claimed the lives of many, including children.

Trump secretly approved plans to attack Iran but did not issue the final order.

The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump informed his senior officials of his approval of plans to attack Iran, but postponed issuing the final order for now.

Sources told the newspaper that Trump is waiting to see whether Iran will agree to abandon its nuclear program, something that is almost certain not to happen. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has rejected the US president's calls for surrender, stressing that Tehran's position is that it will not negotiate while Israel is under attack.

Iran also has no reason to trust the United States at this time, since Trump supported the Israeli attack amid negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

Trump declined to say whether he would launch airstrikes on Iran, telling reporters on Wednesday: "I have ideas about what to do, but I haven't made a final decision yet - I'd rather make a final decision a second in advance."

The newspaper report did not specify the attack plans approved by Trump, but they are likely to include US airstrikes on the Fordow nuclear facility, which is buried deep underground, making it impossible to inflict significant damage without US bunker-buster bombs and the heavy bombers needed to drop them.

Iran has made it clear that it will respond if the United States launches airstrikes, as many American bases in the region are within range of Iranian missiles. Trump may plan limited airstrikes to destroy Fordow, but American casualties could push the United States deeper into the war.

Israeli officials expect the United States to intervene with direct attacks on Iran soon. An Israeli official told CNN on Tuesday, "The entire process is predicated on the fact that the United States will join in at some point."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched the war on June 13, claiming to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. However, US intelligence assessed that Tehran was not seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.

The occupation continues its aggression on Tulkarm and its camps for the 144th day, amid continued home demolitions.

The Israeli occupation forces continue their escalating aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 144th consecutive day, and for the 131st day on the Nur Shams camp, with house demolitions continuing.

According to local sources, occupation bulldozers continued to demolish more residential buildings in Tulkarm refugee camp for the 14th consecutive day, targeting the neighborhoods of Balawneh, Al-Akasha, Al-Nadi, Al-Sawalmeh, and their surroundings.

The sources added that the occupation forces brought a heavy D10 bulldozer to Nour Shams camp today, which has witnessed continuous demolition operations of residential buildings over the past weeks, resulting in the demolition of more than 50 buildings, under the pretext of opening roads and changing the geographical features of the two camps.

This comes as part of the occupation's plan to demolish 106 buildings in both Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps. These include 58 buildings in Tulkarm camp alone, comprising more than 250 homes and dozens of commercial establishments, and 48 buildings in Nur Shams, under the pretext of opening roads and changing the geographical features of the two camps.

The occupation forces continue to impose a tight siege on the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps and their surroundings, with infantry units and vehicles deployed in alleys, neighborhoods, and entrances, preventing residents from reaching their homes to inspect them or retrieve their belongings, and firing directly at anyone who attempts to approach.

In a related development, Israeli occupation forces arrested the head of the Engineers Syndicate in Tulkarm, Khalil Ismail Atir, after raiding his home in the town of Far'oun, south of the governorate.

The city also witnesses intensive 24-hour movement of occupation vehicles, specifically in the middle of the market, on the street of the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, Nablus Street, and the northern neighborhood, where they deliberately obstruct the movement of citizens and vehicles, provocatively sounding their horns and driving against traffic, endangering the lives of citizens.

This escalation is accompanied by a tightening of military measures at the checkpoints surrounding Tulkarm. The occupation has erected surprise checkpoints around the Jabara Bridge gate at the southern entrance to the city, and the Anab military checkpoint to the east. Vehicles are stopped and searched, passengers are subjected to searches and interrogations, traffic is deliberately obstructed, and in many cases, traffic is prevented from passing.

Israeli occupation forces continue to transform Nablus Street into a military barracks, seizing several residential buildings there, as well as parts of the city's northern neighborhood, specifically those facing Tulkarm refugee camp. The occupation forces forcibly evacuated residents of these neighborhoods, some of which have been under occupation control for more than four months, and have deployed heavy machinery and bulldozers in the surrounding areas.

This street, which serves as a link between the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps, has also suffered significant damage due to earth mounds placed by the occupation forces several months ago. The occupation forces are also heavily present, setting up flying and surprise checkpoints, obstructing vehicle movement and exacerbating the suffering of civilians.

The ongoing aggression has so far resulted in the deaths of 13 civilians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens of people have been injured and arrested, and widespread destruction has been caused to infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles.

According to the latest data, the escalation has displaced more than 5,000 families from the two camps, representing over 25,000 citizens. At least 400 homes have been completely destroyed, and 2,573 others have been partially damaged. The entrances to the camps remain blocked with barriers, transforming them into almost lifeless areas.

Netanyahu does not rule out assassinating Khamenei: "All options are on the table"

Israel has admitted that it seeks to overthrow the Iranian regime by "destabilizing it," Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said Thursday morning, following an Iranian missile attack that targeted various areas in Israel, including Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

During his visit to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not rule out the assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, adding, "All options are on the table, but it's best not to discuss it in the media." Regarding the United States joining the war, he said, "It depends on President Donald Trump."

Israeli Defense Minister Katz also threatened that Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, "will pay the price for his crimes," adding that "the Iranian tyrant launched guided missiles at hospitals and residential buildings in Israel," calling it "one of the most serious war crimes."

Katz continued, "We have instructed the Israeli military to intensify strikes against strategic targets in Iran, and against regime sites in Tehran, with the aim of removing threats to Israel and destabilizing the regime" in Iran. Katz reiterated his threats to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Later, Katz told reporters in Holon, "The existence of a regime like Khamenei's is very dangerous. Its ideology aims to destroy Israel, and it continually invests all of its state's resources to achieve this goal." He added, "Such a person cannot be allowed to remain."

For his part, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "The terrorist tyrants in Iran fired missiles this morning at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba and at civilians in central Israel," adding, "We will exact the full price from the rulers of Tehran."

Following the launch of the aggressive war against Iran early last Friday, Netanyahu publicly stated that the overthrow of the Iranian regime would be a result of Israeli military operations. As part of this escalating war, Israel seeks to create chaos within Iran through various operations.

For his part, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated that "the Iranian regime launched a ballistic missile toward a hospital, deliberately targeting civilians," according to his claims, adding that the regime in Tehran "is committing war crimes without any red lines. We have taken that into account."

For his part, Health Minister Uriel Buso described the rocket fire at Soroka Hospital as "an act of terrorism, a crossing of a red line, and a war crime that deliberately targeted innocent civilians and medical personnel." He said his ministry had prepared in advance, averting a major disaster.

This attack, according to the Israeli account, comes after approximately 30 rockets were launched from Iran on Thursday morning. Several of them landed in Beersheba, where Soroka Hospital was directly hit; in Holon, where a residential building was damaged; and in Ramat Gan, where the Stock Exchange neighborhood was hit. Rocket hits were also reported in Bat Yam and Ariel. The reported toll of injuries is at least 137, including six serious cases.

Israeli Transportation Minister and member of the political-security cabinet, Miri Regev, said, "It is time to plunge Tehran into darkness," as she put it, adding, "The Iranian regime is receiving severe blows, and the Israeli army is striking hard at the heart of Iran, causing significant damage to its nuclear infrastructure, missile factories, and command headquarters."

These Israeli statements come amid Israel's escalating targeting of medical facilities in its aggressive operations in the region, particularly in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. Since October 7, 2023, Israel has almost completely destroyed the healthcare system, rendering most hospitals out of service, and targeting medical personnel and patients, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians.

In this context, Israel is seeking to capitalize on the Soroka Hospital attack to promote its narrative of what it describes as "Iranian attacks on civilians." Foreign Minister Sa'ar has issued directives to establish a special media room within the hospital, dedicated to addressing foreign media.

According to an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will set up a media operations room at Soroka Hospital in Beersheba "to expose the Iranian regime's deliberate attack on the hospital and civilians in Israel." The statement added that this step is being implemented "in cooperation with the Government Press Office, the Ministry of Health, and the hospital administration."

"The main target of the attack was the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) C4I command and intelligence base and the army's intelligence camp in the Gav Yam technological complex, near Soroka Hospital," Iran's official news agency IRNA reported, adding that the hospital "was only hit by the blast... The direct and precise target" was the military facility.

Local sources said that the occupation forces stormed the town entrance and the main road connecting the towns of Adh Dhahiriya and Ar Ramadin with military vehicles and bulldozers. They completely closed the road, preventing citizens from moving, bulldozing the entrances to a large number of shops and commercial establishments, and building a trench along the road.

She explained that these shops and establishments comprise a chain of stores spread along the road, and constitute the primary and sole source of income for a large number of families. She explained that the occupation's objective behind these bulldozing operations is to prevent residents and customers from accessing them and force their owners to close their businesses.

About a week ago, the occupation forces notified more than 30 shops and commercial establishments in the area of demolition. In December of last year, they demolished more than 40 shops and commercial establishments in the same area after forcibly evacuating their owners.

Damage Unknown: Israel Bombs Arak Nuclear Reactor in Central Iran | Al Arabiya TV

Israel continues to target Iranian nuclear facilities as its aggression against Iran enters its seventh day. It targeted the Arak heavy water nuclear reactor in central Iran, but there was no radiation hazard, according to Iranian media.

The Israeli military announced in a statement Thursday that it had targeted a non-operational "nuclear reactor" in Arak overnight, also confirming that it had again struck the Natanz nuclear facility.

The statement confirmed that the strike targeted "the reactor core seal structure, a key component in plutonium production," which surrounds the core of the nuclear reactor, sealing it tightly and maintaining its integrity. It noted that the goal of the attack on the reactor was to "prevent its restart and use in developing nuclear weapons."

He added that the Air Force targeted a nuclear weapons development site in the Natanz area, and that approximately 40 warplanes participated in the night raids that targeted "dozens of sites."

Al-Arabiya TV in Tehran reported that media outlets affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that Israel launched an attack on the Arak reactor, as well as another facility in Khondab, noting that there is no precise information regarding what was targeted.

He explained that there was no trace of radiation and that the nuclear reactor area was empty, without providing further details, according to the same media outlets. He also stated that the losses resulting from the strike were unknown.

He pointed out that Israel had previously warned residents of Arak and Khondab in central Iran to evacuate ahead of an airstrike.

Al-Arabiya TV reported that Israel's airstrikes targeting Iranian air defense systems may have paved the way for Israeli fighter jets to hover more frequently in Iranian skies, particularly over areas containing reactors and facilities related to the nuclear program.

Military and strategic expert Mohammed Al-Samadi told Al-Arabiya TV that the Iranian nuclear project is on the Israeli occupation's list of targets. This includes nuclear reactors and all associated facilities, which are being targeted and may be retargeted several times until they are destroyed.

Al-Samadi noted that it is noteworthy that Iranian air defenses were able to shoot down the Hermes 900 drones, which are used for damage assessment following airstrikes.

He pointed out that these aircraft can remain in the air for 40 hours at an altitude of 30,000 feet, and conduct photography and broadcast live images to control stations, early warning aircraft, and command and control aircraft to assess damage.

The Prisoners' Authority warns of the danger of the occupation's continued prevention of lawyers from visiting detainees.

The Palestinian Prisoners' Affairs Commission warned on Thursday of the danger of the Israeli occupation authorities continuing to prevent lawyers from visiting detainees.

She pointed out that this ban weakens the ability to monitor their health conditions, given the spread of diseases and epidemics and the repressive measures they are subjected to.

The Commission announced last Monday that the Israeli Prison Service had decided to cancel lawyer visits to detainees until further notice. This decision comes in light of the exceptional circumstances the detainees have been experiencing since the start of the genocide, exacerbating their isolation and escalating anxiety and risks to their fate.

This measure is an extension of the policy of total isolation practiced against detainees since the beginning of the genocide. Families are denied visits, the International Red Cross is also barred, and detainees are stripped of all their belongings, which would have enabled them to monitor events outside the prisons. This has forced them to live in the harshest and most intense isolation in years.

What if...?

Amin Al-Hajj

Amin Al-Hajj

Opinion Writer

Since October 7, the situation in Palestine has shifted from a chronic state of "no war, no peace" to a raging regional war, encompassing Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen, and then, for the first time, to a direct exchange of fire between Tel Aviv and Tehran.

This event was not merely a local explosion, but a seismic moment that shattered the traditional balance of deterrence. Tel Aviv saw this as an opportunity, which it exploited well. It mobilized East and West behind a distorted narrative, and with their support, it plunged into Palestinian bloodshed, creating an unprecedented humanitarian tragedy and redrawing the map of regional alliances.

The question, “What if October 7 had never happened?” provides an opportunity to explore this, the opportunities that were “wasted” and the “alternative” paths that were completely closed.

Humanitarianally, the aggression claimed the lives of nearly sixty thousand martyrs, most of them women and children, and the internal displacement of two million Palestinians. International reports documented starvation, killing, and systematic genocide. Hospitals were transformed into morgues, with water and electricity being cut off. Had it not been for this, Gaza would have avoided this devastation, and the minimum level of services, which were destroyed by more than 80%, would have continued.

Economically, Gaza was experiencing unemployment of nearly 45%, one of the lowest per capita incomes in the world, international "subsistence" networks, food programs, limited job opportunities in settlements, and projects that were being studied. However, the aggression halted everything. Unemployment jumped to nearly 80%, the crossings were closed, the blockade was tightened, and any prospects for economic growth evaporated.

Diplomatically, October undermined the normalization process in the region, which had reached advanced stages, with symbolic incentives for the Palestinians, such as a partial "freeze" on settlement construction and a "broader" security role for the Palestinian Authority in some of its areas of influence. The continuation of these incentives made it likely that a framework agreement would be reached, restoring the Palestinian Authority's political and financial room for maneuver, and presenting Hamas with a choice: reconciliation or increasing regional "isolation."

Regionally, this pushed the confrontation to a direct confrontation stage, with Tel Aviv bombing the Iranian consulate in Damascus, followed by Operation True Promise, where hundreds of Iranian missiles were launched towards occupied Palestine. Tel Aviv then targeted nuclear facilities inside Iran, and Tehran responded with ballistic and hypersonic missiles. In the alternative scenario, the situation would have remained within the framework of a “grey war,” with cyber attacks, spy networks, and limited assassinations that did not threaten to drag the region and the world into an open war. Tehran would have maintained greater freedom of maneuver and continued enrichment without preemptive strikes.

Internally, the aggression and legendary steadfastness generated widespread popular sympathy for the resistance in general, leaving the government without a clear political project and sliding into the most dangerous internal paths. It was possible to envision a gradual reconciliation process, under Arab-American sponsorship, conditional on the unification of power and arms, and funding for development and reconstruction plans.

Tel Aviv, for its part, has lost the stability of its "quiet deterrence" and the boom in normalization and investment with the escalation of the war. Its economy has suffered hundreds of billions in losses, due to the cost of the war and capital flight, and its internal front has been fractured politically and socially. However, it has also removed key "players" from the scene and reaped unprecedented Western support and exceptional arms packages.

Internationally, October brought the Palestinian cause back to the forefront, sparking diplomatic activity, a wave of global solidarity, media debates, international courts, and a momentum that would not have been as loud as it had been under the "peace for security" approach, cementing a status quo that marginalized Palestinian rights.

The comparison reveals a situation without October 7th. It would have saved tens of thousands of lives, preserved infrastructure, and saved the dignity of many countries around the world, allowing them to continue to praise humanitarian values. It would have kept the door to partial settlements open, and prevented a regional nuclear slide. However, it would also have entailed a loss for the Palestinians: it would have consolidated the status quo, frozen it without resolving it, as regional deals were concluded over their heads, and issues postponed for decades, such as Jerusalem and refugees, would have been marginalized indefinitely. It would have kept Gaza under siege, without a political horizon, and prolonged a fragile “cold peace” that would explode in the future, under more dangerous circumstances.

The status quo, which has been characterized by minimal violence, may seem like a comfortable option for the powerful parties, but it is fueling potential explosions. The absence of October may have delayed the outbreak, but it does not guarantee lasting stability unless the core of the dilemma is addressed: ending the occupation and providing a political horizon for the Palestinians. Therefore, the "alternative scenario" will remain an additional argument for the necessity of achieving rights before the region pays the price of a new, more costly, and more bloody "what if?"

What comes after the US threat to Iran?

Hamada Faraana

Hamada Faraana

We disagree with Iran, yes, and no one can outbid Jordan and Jordanians in the harm we have previously been subjected to by groups or gangs linked in one way or another to agencies or institutions similar in their orientations against Jordan from within or outside Iran.

But whose interest is this aggressive Israeli attack on Iran? It serves the interests of Israeli expansion, hegemony, domination, and occupation of Palestine, southern Lebanon, and southwestern Syria. This approach poses direct risks to Jordanian and Arab national security. This explains the Jordanian leadership's awareness and vigilance in its understanding of Israeli aggression and its clear stance rejecting the Israeli aggression against Iran.

It was therefore not surprising that a statement was issued by twenty Arab and Islamic countries, led by Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Algeria, Kuwait, and the UAE, whose three islands are occupied by Iran or which disagree with it over the inclusion of three Emirati islands: Lesser Tunb, Greater Tunb, and Abu Musa, on the Iranian map.

The statement of June 16, 2025, by the foreign ministers of the twenty Arab and Islamic countries, clearly states the following:

“The necessity of respecting the sovereignty of states, their territorial integrity, the principles of good neighborliness, and the settlement of disputes by peaceful means,” “stressing the necessity of halting Israeli hostilities against Iran, which come at a time when the Middle East (the Arab world) is witnessing increasing levels of tension, and the importance of working to reduce tensions to achieve a ceasefire and comprehensive calm,” the statement stressed “the importance of freeing the Middle East region of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction in accordance with relevant international resolutions and without selectivity, and emphasizing the necessity of all countries in the region quickly joining the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons,” which includes the Israeli colony that possesses dangerous nuclear weapons.

He also stressed "the necessity of not targeting nuclear facilities subject to International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards, in accordance with relevant IAEA and Security Council resolutions, as this constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law under the 1949 Geneva Convention," noting "the necessity of returning to the negotiating track as soon as possible, as this is the only way to reach a sustainable agreement on Iran's nuclear program."

The statement by the twenty Arab and Islamic countries represents a political gain for Iran. It must recognize its dimensions and courage, especially since the majority of these countries maintain close relations, in one way or another, with the United States, which supports, sponsors, and backs the Israeli colony.

The bias of the twenty Arab and Islamic countries through the statement of their foreign ministers reflects official Arab and Islamic sympathy with Iran, despite the differences between them or between some of them with Iran. However, the aggression and attack of the colony on Iran pushed these countries to take a political step or steps towards Iran. In return, this reflected the position of these countries towards the Israeli colony and its aggressive expansionist policies. It occupies the entire map of Palestine and lands in Lebanon and Syria, and violates the sacred Islamic and Christian sanctities in Palestine, in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. This is in addition to the massacres, genocide and ethnic cleansing practiced by the colony's forces in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian West Bank camps, and the human rights violations and racism in the Arab Palestinian Negev region against the Bedouins, and their "stripping" of their lands and expulsion from them.

US President Trump's statements and threats are dangerous. They were made in response to the painful strikes Iran launched against the colony, and in response to the statement by twenty Arab and Islamic countries. The question is, after the US threats, will Russia and China stand by and wait for US partnership in attacking Iran?

Is the Fordow facility pushing America toward a comprehensive confrontation with Iran?

 Khaled Saeed Nazal

Khaled Saeed Nazal

Opinion Writer

In a scene reminiscent of the Middle East's worst nightmares, the exchange of blows between Israel and Iran escalates in June 2025. The numbers reveal a horrific paradox: 8.25 billion shekels ($2.25 billion) is the bill for 3.5 days of war for the Israelis, while Iran wages the battle with frozen funds and a collapsing currency after a decades-long blockade. Will these costs be enough to prevent the outbreak of a full-scale war?

Axis One: Israeli Pressure on Washington - The "Fordo" Dilemma

- Urgent military demands

Netanyahu's insistence on destroying the Fordow nuclear facility, which is fortified under the Qom Mountains (80 meters underground), and is capable of producing 9 nuclear warheads within 3 weeks.

The inability of Israeli weapons to penetrate it prompted the request for the exclusive American bomb (GBU-57 A/B) that penetrates 60 meters of concrete.

- American leaks

"Moving B-52 bombers to Diego Garcia means Washington can destroy Fordow in 48 hours."

—Unnamed Pentagon official

Axis II: American Calculations - Red Lines and Economic Burdens

Duality and frequency interference

Red lines

Washington refuses direct intervention unless Iran targets American interests, something the Iranian regime has avoided so far.

The Trump administration's warning of the repercussions of closing the Strait of Hormuz (through which 60% of the world's oil passes).

- Internal conflict.

The administration is divided between the conservative faction (supporting preemptive strikes) and the military faction (warning of a prolonged war).

Trump's provocative statement.

Civilians must leave Tehran immediately.

— A subliminal message warning the Iranian leadership that “the moment has not yet arrived.”

Axis III: The Bill of War - The Economics of Collapse

Israel: Expenditures Threaten Financial Stability

- $2.25 billion in war expenses in less than 4 days (double the annual emergency budget)

- The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange collapsed (-2.8%) and gas production in the Karish and Tamar fields stopped (losses of $500 million per day).

Iran: A Three-Dimensional Blockade

- Asset freeze: $120 billion unusable in banks in Europe and Asia.

- Financial collapse.

The Iranian rial has fallen 40% since the beginning of the war.

-Rampant inflation exceeding 50% (prices of basic commodities rose 200%).

Reconstruction costs $1.5 billion to repair Tehran's destroyed infrastructure.

Axis Four: The Catastrophic Scenario - A War with No Victory

Expected disaster sequence

1. American strike on Fordow.

- The risk of a radiation leak threatens 4 million people in Qom Province (IAEA warning).

.2 Iranian response.

- Closing the Strait of Hormuz - Paralyzing 20% of the world's oil supply - Price rising to $250+.

- Missile attacks on US bases in Qatar (Al Udeid) and Bahrain (Riffa).

3. Intervention of the great powers

Russia supplies Iran with S-500 defense systems.

China warns of a "collapse of the international order" and threatens counter-sanctions.

Expert warnings

"A comprehensive war would cost America $3 trillion and open 7 regional fronts... Victory in it is impossible,

Dr. Henry Kissinger, former US Secretary of State.

Conclusion: Why is Washington backing away from the brink?

Several factors freeze the decision to go to war.

1. Economic brake

Washington's fear of a global recession if oil reaches $250 (stock market crash + hyperinflation) is unbearable. The US economy cannot sustain it: inflation, energy prices, and the costs of previous wars continue to hurt American citizens. Any new war will exacerbate the crisis and expose the ruling party to electoral losses.

2. Electoral impasse

Trump refuses to risk losing the support of war-weary voters before the 2024 election.

- Electoral pressure: As the election approaches, Trump (or any candidate) realizes that entering into an unjustified war could lose him independent and swingeing electoral bases, especially with shifts in public opinion toward Israel.

4. Fear of extended chaos: Any strike against Iran could trigger reactions within the United States itself, whether through cyberattacks or “symbolic” violence, something no one wants to risk.

5. Politically "rebellious" states: States with a democratic character (such as California) have begun to take hardline positions against the Biden or Trump administration (depending on who is in power), threatening to become independent in their decisions, which weakens the federal decision-making position at critical moments.

6. Limited gains

The destruction of Fordow does not end Iran's nuclear program, which can be rebuilt within 24 months thanks to secret facilities in Isfahan and Natanz.

The real battle is not in the skies of Tehran or the Fordow tunnels, but on two fronts.

The economic front: where Iran's resilience is being tested under a siege that resembles a slow hanging.

The deterrence front: where America balances its military superiority with the nightmare of unforeseen costs.

Conclusion: Yes, the current American domestic situation cannot tolerate open war, and it is one of the most prominent factors inhibiting any potential military adventure.

The only solution? Indirect negotiations through Omani/Qatari mediation, sparing the region a war that no one will win... except arms dealers and those who prophesy doom.

Closing Al-Aqsa, Ibrahimi Mosque, and Al-Qiyamah Mosque: Creating Pretexts to Impose a Fait Accompli

Sheikh Hatem Al-Bakri: The presence of our people in Al-Aqsa and Al-Ibrahimi Mosques is the only available means now to protect the identity of these two mosques and preserve their sanctity.

Aziz Al-Assa: Everything the occupation authorities are doing is an assault on the freedom of worship of Muslims and Christians, which is guaranteed by international and humanitarian laws and conventions.

Dr. Hassan Khater: The occupation is exploiting the current events to isolate Muslims from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque and prevent them from reaching them.

Hatem Abdel Qader: Arab and Islamic countries must shoulder their responsibilities in defending Islamic and Christian holy sites and pressuring the occupation to halt its violations.

Khaled Zabarqa: The Israeli action is essentially political and aims to exploit regional conditions to control Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation authorities have exploited every opportunity or event to implement their expansionist plans in the Palestinian territories, impose facts on the ground, and resolve the conflict unilaterally through brutal force. This includes holy sites, which have always been at the center of the storm and targeted through closures, restrictions, and attacks on worshippers, without any regard for any earthly or heavenly rights, covenants, or norms.

Since Friday, the occupation authorities have imposed a complete closure, preventing worshippers from reaching the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron. They have cited concerns for their safety following Israel's massive attack on Iran early Friday morning and Iran's missile response.

Religious figures, politicians, activists, and writers who spoke to "I" confirmed that the occupation is exploiting the current events to isolate Muslims from Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque and prevent them from reaching them, in an assault on the freedom of worship of Muslims and Christians, which is guaranteed by international and humanitarian laws and conventions.

They emphasized the necessity of the Palestinian people's presence at Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque, as this is the only available means of protecting the identity of these two mosques and preserving their sanctity. They called on Arab and Islamic countries to shoulder their responsibilities in defending Islamic and Christian holy sites and to pressure the occupation to halt its violations.

The closure of Al-Aqsa and Al-Ibrahimi Mosques carries worrying indicators.

Sheikh Hatem Al-Bakri, preacher at the Ibrahimi Mosque and former Minister of Endowments, said that in light of the difficult circumstances the region is experiencing, as a result of the accelerating and successive events, especially those resulting from the ongoing war on Gaza for more than a year and ten months, in addition to the recent escalation represented by the current war on Iran, the situation in the West Bank has become extremely difficult, and the impact of this has also extended to the holy sites, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Al-Bakri explained that serious measures were taken against these two mosques, including their closure. This entails grave risks, as such closures have not occurred for decades, except in rare instances. Furthermore, the Ibrahimi Mosque was only closed after its infamous massacre, for a few days.

Sheikh Al-Bakri added that this closure carries deeply worrying implications and could lead to unintended consequences, as religious sites are sensitive areas, and any violation of them or their being drawn into conflict zones could threaten the stability of the entire region.

He stressed the need to keep these holy sites away from provocations and escalatory measures, as this could lead to undesirable consequences. He also emphasized the need to protect them from political tensions and occupation measures, such as preventing worshippers from reaching or performing prayers there.

Sheikh Al-Bakri called on the Palestinian people to remain present at these sites, but only for prayer, saying, "In this delicate period, we ask nothing more of our people than to head to Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque to pray, seclude themselves, remember God, and recite the Quran."

The occupation seeks to impose new facts on the ground.

He explained that this symbolic step is the only available means now to protect the identity of these two mosques and preserve their sanctity, especially in light of the escalating tensions in the region following the Israeli war against Iran, which has become a major focus of attention.

He emphasized that Palestinians' closeness to the two mosques, through prayer and worship, aims to protect them from Judaization and to safeguard their religious status as symbols of Islamic identity.

Sheikh Al-Bakri pointed out that Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque have profound religious and historical dimensions. Al-Aqsa Mosque is the third of the two Holy Mosques, and the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, urged people to travel to it, saying: “Travel should only be undertaken to three mosques: the Sacred Mosque, my mosque, and Al-Aqsa Mosque.”

As for the Ibrahimi Mosque, it is associated with the Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, who is considered the grandfather of the prophets, and the grandfather of our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, which gives the mosque a great religious status.

Sheikh Al-Bakri concluded his remarks by emphasizing that these two mosques, given their significant religious significance, must be respected and appreciated, and kept away from the cycle of tension and occupation measures that seek to impose new facts on the ground.

Israel denies all agreements and treaties

For his part, writer and researcher specializing in Jerusalem affairs, Aziz Al-Asaa, said that the ruling right-wing government in Israel is turning its back on all agreements, treaties, and understandings concluded between the occupation and the Palestinian leadership, at least since the Oslo Accords in August 1993.

He added: It also turns its back on all those who live on the land of Palestine, from the sea to the river, other than the Jews. I mean here, primarily, the Muslims and Christians, who are subjected to religious and ideological persecution, through daily, organized and programmed attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, and attacks - from time to time - on Christian religious sites, in various parts of the Palestinian homeland, especially the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Al-Assa pointed out that this government, represented by its ministers, denies the right of followers of both religions—Islam and Christianity—to worship, and disregards their feelings, beliefs, and moral and emotional needs to connect with their religious sites and practice their rituals and practices.

He said: In accordance with the strategy described above, based on the logic of force, indeed excessive force, in dealing with the Palestinian people, and against the backdrop of the aggression against Iran, starting at dawn on Friday (13-06-2025), the decision was made to close the holiest places in the world, namely: the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Ibrahimi Mosque, by preventing worshippers from reaching where they worship the One and Only God, the Almighty and Omnipotent over His servants.

Al-Aqsa is almost empty of worshippers

He added: "Since that day, the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque has been almost empty of worshippers and attendees, and all gates are subject to strict inspection, preventing worshippers from entering the mosque."

He added: "However, the gates are open to intruding settlers, who can enter whenever they wish to perform various rituals, which constitute a violation of the sanctity of the mosque, which is a place of worship for Muslims alone, with no one sharing ownership or exclusive right to pray there."

He added, "This also constitutes a blatant assault on Muslims' freedom of worship in their mosque. The same applies to Christian worshippers, whom the occupation authorities prevent from reaching the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, disregarding the repercussions this has on their feelings and the psychological and moral harm it causes."

Al-Assa addressed the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, noting that it is shackled by Judaization measures that negatively impact Muslims, who are permitted to use the mosque for worship in the narrowest of circles. Even services and facilities are now off-limits to Muslims, with the keys held by settlers.

Al-Assa believes that everything the occupation authorities are doing is an assault on the freedom of worship of Muslims and Christians, which is guaranteed by the laws, regulations, and laws of the people under occupation.

Israel uses the pretext of war on Iran

He said: As for using the war on Iran as a "pretext" for these measures, and the pretext of fear for the safety of worshippers, we see it as a statement of "truth intended to be false", in fact it is falsehood itself, and we cannot rule out that this will be reflected in future measures, in which the current measures may turn into a "status quo", granting the occupation government itself the authority to tighten control over the religious sites under discussion, and other Islamic and Christian religious sites, especially the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is located in the House of Judaization fire that has begun to threaten to devour everything that the settlers seek to seize.

At the end of his statement to Al-Quds, Al-Assa stressed the need for official and popular action, led by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in accordance with the Hashemite guardianship, which grants the Jordanian state the undisputed right to protect the religious rights of Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem. This is in order to restrain the occupation from encroaching on Islamic and Christian religious sites, particularly in Jerusalem, and to prevent worshippers from enjoying the right to worship guaranteed by divine and earthly laws.

The occupation claims that it is concerned for the safety of worshippers!

In turn, Dr. Hassan Khater, director of the International Jerusalem Center, said there are two main reasons for the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the restriction of the number of worshipers to Waqf employees and a small number of other employees:

First: The occupation is exploiting the current events to isolate Muslims from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevent them from reaching it. This is considered one of the strategic goals of the occupation, which is to exploit all circumstances and events in order to isolate Al-Aqsa Mosque and distance Muslims from it under any available pretext. In this case, the occupation's pretext is to prevent large gatherings in order to protect people's lives.

Secondly, and perhaps most importantly under these circumstances, according to Khater, is the occupation's fear that the congregation of worshippers at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque will amount to a large celebratory gathering in response to the ongoing events and rocket attacks on Israeli cities, something the occupation does not want.

He stressed that the occupation does not want to ignite the feelings and emotions of the Palestinian people, especially from the heart of Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Ibrahimi Mosque, as such large gatherings could, under such circumstances, ignite a major uprising against it. He added that the occupation is well aware that the situation in the West Bank is highly and unprecedentedly charged, and it is known to the occupation that there are no places more attractive for people to gather for such major events than Al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards, as well as the Ibrahimi Mosque and its surroundings.

Khater believes that confronting this assault on the two mosques lies in raising the voices of the Jordanian and Palestinian Islamic endowments and protesting the occupation's actions through all means and channels. This could lead to a popular movement and numerous interactions to lift the closure and siege on the two mosques.

The occupation seeks to impose new facts on the ground in Jerusalem.

For his part, Hatem Abdel Qader, Secretary-General of the Islamic Christian Committee for the Defense of Jerusalem and Holy Sites, believes that the Israeli occupation is attempting to exploit the war on Iran to impose new realities on the Palestinian territories, particularly in Jerusalem. He is exploiting the world's and the media's preoccupation with the issue to cover up its plans for the Holy City and its Islamic and Christian holy sites, most notably Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

He explained that the occupation's closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque aims primarily to empty them of worshippers, undermine their religious symbolism and Islamic identity, and pave the way for settlers to continue their incursions and perform their Talmudic rituals, both in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Abdul Qader pointed out that preventing worshippers from performing their religious rituals constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights and freedom of worship, a serious provocation of Muslim sentiments, and an additional factor in fueling the escalating tensions in the region.

Changing the historical and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque

He stressed that this closure cannot be separated from the escalating violations perpetrated by the occupation against Al-Aqsa Mosque, which aim to alter its historical and legal status and undermine Jordanian and Palestinian religious and administrative sovereignty over it and over the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron.

Abdul Qader emphasized that these serious and ongoing violations require all official and popular bodies to uphold their responsibilities, confront this aggressive policy, and mobilize all possible efforts to protect these holy sites from Judaization schemes.

He also called on Arab and Islamic countries to shoulder their responsibilities in defending Islamic and Christian holy sites and to utilize all their energies to pressure the occupation to halt these violations.

Abdul Qader concluded his remarks to Al-Quds by saying, "We believe that the occupation's continued violations will inevitably lead to a dangerous situation, and it will bear full responsibility for all possible repercussions."

Great risks to the future of the mosque and its Islamic identity

Lawyer Khaled Zabarqa, who specializes in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa affairs, said: "The closure of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, a place of worship and prayer for Muslims, by the Israeli occupation poses significant risks to the future of the mosque and its Islamic identity.

He explained that concerns have recently increased as a result of this closure, despite it being unjustified and not based on any logical or realistic reasons.

Zabarqa added, "The occupation is trying to exploit the current regional circumstances in a vicious way, targeting the identity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Arabs and Muslims are not paying attention, especially with the attention being focused on the Israeli-Iranian war, which has deepened concerns about the fate of the mosque."

He pointed out that the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque remained filled with worshippers and Muslims throughout the years of occupation, and that it was the popular and public support that contributed, after the grace of God Almighty, to protecting and defending the mosque.

Jordanian and Islamic intervention is required

Therefore, official Jordanian intervention, along with action by Islamic countries, is an urgent requirement to pressure the occupation to lift its control over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Zabarqa stressed the need to refrain from this dangerous measure, which carries significant threats. He also called for people to flock to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and rally around it, given its religious and national significance.

He stressed that the presence of the public, worshippers, and those performing I'tikaf, along with focusing attention on what is happening inside the mosque, is the need of the hour, especially in light of these complex circumstances.

He continued: "We, in Jerusalem, must keep our attention focused on Al-Aqsa Mosque and our inalienable right to enter it, pray there, and practice our religious rituals freely."

Zabarqa considered the Israeli action to be essentially political, aiming to exploit regional conditions to advance an occupation agenda aimed at controlling the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

If I were a president!

The White House returnee never stops repeating his favorite phrase, "If I were president, what happened wouldn't have happened." This phrase has become a staple of all his speeches, talks, and interviews, with which he opened his second term, making him a persecuted person after having been a persecuted person, as he said yesterday.

Trump mocked his predecessor for repeatedly stumbling on his feet as he climbed the stairs of his plane, and for his tongue, which always seemed to outsmart his head, making him appear "out of control," as our ancestors used to say. He then made those stumbling mistakes before his hands could help his stumbling feet as he jumped up the stairs of his plane.

Trump has become a president sitting in a luxurious chair, surrounded by a group of people. He has seals and an arsenal of pens with which he signs orders for revenge and retaliation against his enemies and opponents, those who persecuted him during the years of his decline.

Trump, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning president, has rightfully earned the title of "Keeper of Hell." While he plays the role of firefighter by talking about peace, he actually means surrender, and he puts out fires with gasoline.

Yesterday, Trump took off his tie and put on his hat, threatening Iran with what no eye has seen and no human mind has ever imagined, if it does not submit to his orders and surrender!

“In a week or less, the world will witness a great deed,” said the man, fascinated by his return to the White House, like a prophet saved by God from a bullet that passed by his ear, to restore stability to the world.

If Trump says he's going to negotiations, know that he's sitting in the cockpit of a jetliner, a battleship sailing in warm waters. He's not far off from reviving the Truman story with Japan, should the event happen and Tehran sink one of his destroyers, or kill a number of his forces scattered across the arc of fire extending from Baghdad to Beirut to Sana'a to Tehran.

Will Iran fall into the same trap that Saddam fell into?

Huckabee suggests Trump use a nuclear bomb against Iran and follow heaven's guidance.

US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee suggested to US President Donald Trump that he might use a nuclear bomb against Iran, urging him to listen to the heavens and follow their guidance when making decisions regarding Israel's war on Iran.

In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, Trump shared a screenshot of a long text he said was sent to him by Huckabee, an evangelical and Christian Zionist whom Trump calls a "great person!"

In the text, Huckabee says that Trump's current decision about whether to involve the United States in attacks on Iran is similar to the decision President Harry Truman faced in 1945—when Truman dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people in Japan and destroying two cities. Huckabee also says he is not seeking to persuade Trump, but rather to "encourage him." He writes, "God saved you in Butler, Pennsylvania, to be the most consequential president in a century—and perhaps ever." He adds, "There has never been a president in my lifetime like you. Not since Truman in 1945."

This lengthy letter is deeply ironic, given that Huckabee is suggesting that Trump use a nuclear bomb against Iran in a war initiated by Israel to target Iran's nuclear weapons program, even though most of the targets and victims so far appear to have been civilians.

Huckabee also urges Trump to listen to his "voice," an apparent reference to God, saying Trump will "hear from heaven" on the issue.

Like many evangelical Christians in the United States, Huckabee is a Christian Zionist who believes that Israel must control Palestine to fulfill the prophecy of the end of the world and the second coming of Jesus Christ. Christ will rule Israel in the new age, when all people will worship Christ or be annihilated and condemned to hell.

Some Christian Zionists have openly preached that Israel should claim hegemony over enemies like Iran, who would seek to destroy it in pursuit of complete control over Palestine. Huckabee has been heavily criticized for erasing the occupied West Bank, which he refers to as Judea and Samaria, and for once saying that "there is no such thing as a real Palestinian."

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who has spent more than a decade urging the United States to go to war with Iran, praised Huckabee's text, saying it was "on point."

“Now is the time to end this terrible chapter in the Middle East and begin a new one,” Graham said, apparently referring to an old neoconservative fantasy about regime change in Iran. The text, which seeks to urge Trump to use excessive force against Iran, comes at a critical moment as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is publicly urging Trump to attack Iran, giving Israel additional support in addition to existing defensive support from U.S. military assets. Similar to Trump’s Tuesday statement ignoring the U.S. intelligence community’s assessment that Iran is not seeking a nuclear weapon, Haccappel’s invocation of a higher purpose echoes President George W. Bush’s bizarre rationale for starting the Iraq War. Just months after the initial U.S. invasion began, Bush reportedly told an Israeli-Palestinian summit that he was “motivated by a mission from God.”

It's unclear what Trump's next move will be. He has repeatedly said that his goal is to force Iran to surrender to his administration's demands for a nuclear deal. He wrote on the Truth Social website on Tuesday that he wants "total surrender" from Iran. Trump has said he may send Vice President J.D. Vance or his Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, to conduct negotiations. According to sources quoted by Axios, the president was reportedly considering a strike on Iran before a war meeting with his national security team in the White House Situation Room on Tuesday, but decided to wait until after the meeting.

Trump also held another meeting with the National Security Council on Wednesday at the White House.

Trump kept his people and the world guessing on Wednesday about whether he had decided to launch a US strike on Iran.

"I might do it, I might not. I mean, nobody knows what I'm going to do," Trump told reporters at the White House amid growing speculation the United States was close to joining the Israeli attack.

Trump added that it is not too late for Iran to abandon its nuclear program, while continuing to explore the possibility of direct US intervention in Israeli military operations aimed at eliminating Iran's nuclear program.

A poll conducted by The Economist in partnership with YouGov between June 13 and 16, and published Wednesday, shows that as speculation grows about whether US President Trump intends to directly enter the war alongside Netanyahu in his war on Iran, Americans are expressing dissatisfaction with the way US President Donald Trump is handling issues related to the warring countries, according to the poll published Wednesday.

Majorities showed they support diplomacy over the use of force. A majority (56%) believe the United States should enter into negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, including 58% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans. This represents a sharp drop in opposition compared to 2015, when 32% of Americans—most notably 52% of Republicans—opposed nuclear talks during the Obama administration, according to a YouGov poll.

At the level of general American trends that transcend partisanship, only 16% of Americans believe that the United States should intervene militarily, while 60% oppose it.
