An image of a hungry elderly man in Gaza exposes the horrors of famine and stirs global outrage.

A Photo of a Hungry Elderly Man in Gaza Exposes the Horrors of Famine and Sparks Global Outrage

In a dark corner of his displacement tent, the elderly Salim Asfour lies down, having been forced to leave his town of Abasan al-Jadida east of Khan Younis after the escalation of Israeli occupation attacks in the area. He no longer knows if he is alive or just a shadow of the man who once filled the neighborhood with his call to prayer from the Mosque of the Companions. A recent video recorded him stating that he has not had a piece of bread in five days, and his voice, which used to raise the call to prayer, has faded to a whisper barely audible, as he can no longer stand due to hunger and illness, with his weight dropping from 80 to 40 kilograms as a result of the systematic starvation policy implemented by the occupying forces.

The image of the frail and exhausted elderly man spread across social media platforms, turning into a shocking witness to the rampant famine in the sector. The photo sparked widespread outrage among activists, who considered that his sunken body is not just a sign of malnutrition, but a stark embodiment of a systematic starvation crime pushing the people of Gaza towards a slow death in broad daylight. Many Twitter users confirmed that these scenes are not from movies or fake images created using artificial intelligence, but a bitter reality that residents live daily.

One user wrote: "Honestly, I didn't believe the photo; I thought it was fabricated until I contacted one of his neighbors who confirmed to me that it is real... This is Uncle Salim, the muezzin of the Mosque of the Companions." They pointed out that this is happening at a time when American, Israeli, and Arab media are denying the existence of famine in Gaza, speaking of aid entering and "expected improvement," but they affirmed that "the hungry do not lie... How can they lie?".

One blogger noted that the man who has lost his voice and ability to walk has nothing left of the dawn call to prayer, not even a cry to complain about his hunger, as he lives under a siege similar to what the Companions endured, surrounded by a nation numbering in the millions, yet silent and submissive, as if it has no connection to his suffering. Activists see that what Uncle Salim is experiencing is not an exception, but a model for thousands of cases that embody a tragic reality under a systematic Israeli starvation policy, supported by the United States and European silence.

One person wrote: "Elderly Salim Asfour... a living testimony to the hunger of Gaza and the pain of the siege. His body encapsulates the extent of the suffering and severity of hunger that the residents of the sector are exposed to." Another added: "It is not just a lack of food, but a calculated slow death. This is not a humanitarian crisis, but a war crime committed in full view of the world and its silence." Many confirmed that famine does not need official reports or statistics, for "it is enough to look into Uncle Salim's eyes," as one said, for the world to realize the extent of the tragedy.

The photos highlighted that Uncle Salim has not eaten bread for five days and has become unable to stand except with great difficulty, with his bones protruding from extreme emaciation and hunger. One activist concluded by saying: "This is not just a hungry man, but a living testimony to the world's lies, and that the aid being promoted for entry into Gaza only exists on paper, while the residents suffer from real hunger."

The displacement of the residents of the sector and their forced push into the unknown.

The Palestinian people are subjected to a continuous genocide by the Israeli occupation, and what is happening specifically in the Gaza Strip represents a humanitarian tragedy and a catastrophe that the mind cannot fathom, as well as organized terrorism. The ongoing systematic policy of starvation, which becomes harsher day by day, is nothing but a form of genocide being perpetrated against an unarmed people through the tools of siege and slow death under false and misleading names managed by the Israeli occupation with direct support from the American administration and with shameful international silence.

President Trump's contempt for the world and his statement that the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, is trustworthy and responsible for distributing aid confirms the involvement of the American administration in the crimes of starvation and genocide and plans for displacement. The United States can no longer be considered an honest broker capable of continuing its mediation role, and the American administration must review these weak and unrealistic policies.

The system of death traps claims the lives of dozens of the starving daily, which did not come from nowhere but rather as a precise implementation of a comprehensive plan aimed at crushing the will of the Palestinian people and breaking their steadfastness through starvation, intimidation, and humiliation. This policy, based on starving civilians and depriving them of the essentials of life, is nothing but another face of the war crimes being committed in cold blood under a political cover and American immunity.

The martyrdom of more than 147 Palestinians from starvation, all of whom are children and infants, is a stain of shame on the forehead of humanity and a damning evidence of the horrific humanitarian scene being managed under the auspices of the occupation and those who support it politically and militarily. The attempts of the Israeli right-wing government to deny the existence of famine are nothing but a cheap escape forward and a blatant expression of a racist ideology that does not see the Palestinian people as human beings deserving of life.

What Gaza is witnessing is not an emergency disaster but a systematic project for the displacement of the residents of the Strip and their forced push into the unknown within the plans of the extremist right that treats the existence of Palestinians as an obstacle that must be removed. Furthermore, the silence of the international community and its inaction to this moment is a moral and legal complicity that reflects the collapse of the international system in protecting peoples under occupation.

The Palestinian people are paying a heavy price as a result of the policies of occupation and the international community's disregard for the ongoing violations in the complete absence of international institutions, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross, which is required to intensify its efforts to deliver urgent aid to the Gaza Strip without restrictions, activate its role as a guarantor of the Geneva Conventions, and continue its work in the scope of protecting civilians and monitoring the conditions of Palestinian detainees in the occupation's prisons, especially in light of the detention of hundreds of them in secret places deprived of visits and contact with their families. The committee must resume its visits to the Israeli occupation prisons and pressure to ensure humane treatment for the prisoners.

The time has come to declare the Gaza Strip an internationally recognized disaster area, followed by immediate international intervention under the supervision of the United Nations to save what remains of our people who are being killed every day either by rockets, starvation, or betrayal. The responsibility to protect Palestinian civilians is no longer merely moral but also legal and binding according to the rules of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. There must be intensified international action to achieve a permanent ceasefire, confront the practices of the occupation, and pressure for the protection of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the complete end of the Israeli aggression in preparation for achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the decisions of international legitimacy.

Israel continues to effectively annex Palestinian territories and covers it up with official announcements.

Israel continues to effectively annex Palestinian territories and covers it up with official announcements

The newspaper Haaretz reported that the Israeli occupation has completed the process of annexing large parts of the West Bank, especially "Area C," through unannounced administrative moves, without the need to issue official decisions or legislation in the Knesset. It clarified that the recent vote in the Knesset on declaring "Israeli sovereignty" over Palestinian territories does not represent the beginning of the annexation process, but rather an attempt to cover up the reality of annexation that has been implemented for years through gradual and stable measures on the ground.

The newspaper pointed out that this announcement does not constitute a substantial legal change, but serves as a "smoke screen" that hides the fact that the occupation has effectively annexed parts of "Area C" through administrative and security changes, without issuing any official legislation. It emphasized that the legal concept of annexation can be realized through the actual reality on the ground, which was affirmed by the International Court of Justice in its opinion issued in July 2024, where it considered that annexation can occur without an explicit declaration if it is done through actual control over the areas.

In the context of the procedures, the occupation government transferred the administration of the West Bank from the military apparatus to civilian ministries, such as the ministries of transportation, education, and agriculture, which reduced the army's role and turned it into a secondary executive body. Figures from the settlers were also appointed to sensitive administrative positions, reinforcing civilian control over the occupied areas and bringing them closer to the Israeli legal system.

Among the important steps mentioned by the newspaper is the dissolution of the independent legal advisory office in the army and subjecting it to political control, which represents a qualitative shift in transferring powers from the military leadership to civilian ministries. Additionally, budgets were reallocated, planning principles were changed, licensing procedures were expedited, and infrastructure was developed for the benefit of the settlements, leading to their gradual integration into the Israeli civil legal system.

The newspaper viewed the recent Knesset announcement as not a substantial change, but rather an extension of a "consciousness engineering" process aimed at enabling the political class to deny the reality of annexation, as long as no official announcement is made, and to cover up the role played by judicial and administrative institutions in facilitating this reality. It warned that the continuation of annexation, despite its violation of international law, has established a system based on discrimination, where areas are managed according to two different legal systems, one for Jews and another for Palestinians, without granting civil rights to Palestinians, within a systematic discrimination in resources and representation.

The newspaper linked this situation to an apartheid system, where the occupation governs two population groups in one area under two different legal systems and unequal political representation, reflecting a pattern of systematic discrimination in rights and resources.

A Palestinian Killed and Widespread Arrests in the West Bank During Escalation of Occupation

Palestinian sources reported this morning, Monday, that a Palestinian from the Jenin camp was killed after being killed while near the town of Qabatiya in the northern West Bank, where Israeli occupation forces bombed a besieged house where militants were taking shelter.

Channel 12 in Israel reported that the Israeli army killed a wanted Palestinian and arrested another near Qabatiya, while activists broadcast footage showing violent clashes around the besieged house, amid rising tensions in the area.

In the context of arrests, Israeli occupation forces arrested three Palestinians, including an injured boy, after raiding and searching their homes in southern Bethlehem, in a widespread arrest campaign targeting various areas of the West Bank.

Occupation forces also stormed the city of Ramallah and several villages and towns, launching a wide campaign of raids and arrests, as part of the escalation of their military operations against Palestinians in the West Bank.

A Palestinian report released on Sunday indicated that occupation forces have arrested about 18,500 Palestinians since the beginning of the genocide war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, amid ongoing military operations and widespread arrests.

The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is witnessing repeated assaults by the army and settlers, amid a military operation that has been ongoing for more than seven months in the camps of northern West Bank, resulting in the martyrdom of more than 1,012 Palestinians and the injury of about 7,000 others, in addition to the arrest of more than 18,000 Palestinians, according to official Palestinian data.

Ifrat Lipovitz condemns the silence of Israeli society regarding the Gaza famine and considers it a betrayal.

Efrat Lipovitz condemns the silence of Israeli society regarding the Gaza famine and considers it a betrayal

The Israeli writer Efrat Lipovitz sharply criticized Israeli society, especially the religious community, considering that the ongoing neglect of the famine and suffering in the Gaza Strip represents a clear betrayal of the values of the Torah and Jewish teachings. In an article published in Haaretz, she pointed out that images of famine and destruction in Gaza remind one of what is mentioned in the Book of Lamentations, which is traditionally recited during mourning rituals for the destruction of the Temple, specifically on the night of the commemoration of the ninth of August.

Lipovitz viewed the current tragedy in Gaza as a tragic reflection of what was written in Lamentations over 2,500 years ago, where images of hungry and sick children, and parents unable to feed their children, evoke sadness and shock. She emphasized that the other side, which has been a victim throughout history, is today repeating the same harm that was inflicted on it before, referring to the tragic humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The writer noted that this collapse in Gaza requires a firm moral stance from the Jewish community, asserting that the greatest shame is not only in committing injustice but in denying its occurrence. She added that what has been happening in Gaza for over 22 months is a crime in itself, and that the silence of Israeli society is a complete testimony to this crime, as those who do not raise their voices to stop the war and the siege acknowledge that famine is part of their objectives.

In a related context, Dr. Khalil Al-Daqran, spokesperson for Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, confirmed that the war of starvation in the Gaza Strip has entered its fifth phase, explaining in a television intervention that the number of malnutrition victims is continuously increasing, with 175 deaths recorded due to starvation, including 6 cases within just 24 hours, in addition to thousands of sick cases that hospitals receive daily.

The suffering in Gaza is escalating: its residents are drinking salty water to stay alive.

Gaza's Suffering Intensifies: Its Residents Drink Salty Water to Survive

Gazan citizen Hassan Harzallah revealed the suffering of residents in the besieged Gaza Strip, where they live in dire humanitarian conditions due to the ongoing Israeli blockade for more than four months, which has led to a severe shortage of water and food, resulted in dozens of martyrs, and threatened the lives of thousands of residents.

Harzallah recounted in his testimony that his day began with a request from his father to fill two water bottles from trucks that sometimes pass near the camp, where he found a long line of citizens suffering from thirst, waiting for the arrival of drinking water trucks that come only about every three days. While waiting, he suddenly felt dizzy, having not eaten since the previous night, and a neighbor helped him sit in a corner by the roadside, bringing him the water bottles after the truck passed, but he couldn't inform his parents about what happened for fear of worrying them.

His health condition deteriorated significantly, as he felt severe dizziness, and the weather was very hot, with residents living in tents without shade under the scorching sun. He tried to buy some food from the market, but found it empty, which added to his sadness, as he said: How will I return to my family empty-handed with nothing?

Despite this, he bought less than a kilogram of grapes for more than 30 dollars to feed his family of six, saying: We will share it and endure hunger; maybe we will find something tomorrow. He returned to his tent carrying the grapes, barely able to walk, and the street was devoid of goods, with people around him having exhausted eyes and stumbling steps, searching for anything to feed their children.

In the context of their suffering, Hassan received a message from his friend Mahmoud asking about the amount of salt he puts in a glass of water, emphasizing the miserable condition they live in, as residents are forced to drink salty water so they don't faint and don't lose more weight, fearing dizziness and falling.

Hassan also watched a video of a Gazan woman sitting on the ground in a refugee camp, suffering from hunger and severe exhaustion, having not eaten for five days. He explained that this situation is not individual but represents a symbol of the suffering of the entire community under a suffocating blockade that has lasted for more than four months.

At the end of his testimony, his small orphaned cousin entered and asked a question he didn't know how to answer: Do you have anything to eat?, a question that reflects the depth of the humanitarian crisis faced by residents in Gaza, where many suffer from a severe shortage of food and drinking water.

The escalation of the occupation in Gaza exacerbates the humanitarian crisis amid international efforts to cease fire.

The Occupation's Escalation in Gaza Exacerbates the Humanitarian Crisis Amid International Efforts for a Ceasefire

The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip continues for the 668th day, with a catastrophic deterioration in the humanitarian situation, as massacres and the severe siege imposed by the occupation on the population continue, leading to the death toll rising to over 60,839 since the beginning of the aggression in October 2023, and more than 149,588 injured. The population suffers from famine and malnutrition, with airstrikes continuing in areas close to aid distribution centers, despite the occupation's claims of providing "safe passages."

The Gaza Ministry of Health announced the martyrdom of 6 Palestinians in the past 24 hours, including children, due to famine and malnutrition, in addition to 35 other martyrs who fell to the occupation's fire while waiting for aid distribution. The death toll from famine in the sector stands at 175 martyrs, with ongoing interruptions in medical relief lines and difficulty accessing victims, as many bodies remain under the rubble.

In the context of the escalation, Hebrew media revealed communications between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss a plan that includes a comprehensive ceasefire in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners, disarming the resistance, and placing Gaza under international administration led by the United States. However, disagreements within Hamas hinder reaching a final agreement, as the movement demands the proper entry of aid before returning to negotiations.

The humanitarian coordinator at Oxfam described the situation as "real genocide," noting that the occupation prevents the entry of food and medical aid, and even prevents UN staff from assessing the deteriorating humanitarian situation, which increases the suffering of children and women and threatens the lives of many from hunger and disease.

While Israel continues its military operations, Hamas officials confirmed that any agreement must include the entry of aid, amid ongoing international pressure from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey on the movement. The U.S. envoy is making efforts to organize a deal to end the war, but Hamas's refusal to concede its core demands complicates reaching a final solution, amid ongoing bombardment and aggression.

In the last 24 hours, 18 citizens were martyred, including 13 aid seekers, and many were injured, with direct targeting of civilians in several areas, especially in the northwestern sector. The suffering of the population increases with the continued siege and starvation, while hopes for a political settlement remain slim, amid ongoing military operations and continuous aggression.

Trump Calls on Israel to Feed Gaza Residents and Expresses Concern Over Escalation of Conflict

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Israel should provide food for the residents of the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that his country does not want people to starve and that there are currently difficult conditions in the region. Trump clarified during his remarks in Pennsylvania on Sunday evening that the United States is working to provide food for Gaza's residents, noting that Washington is the only country funding this purpose.

In another context, The Atlantic magazine reported from U.S. officials that Trump believes Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is seeking to prolong the conflict in Gaza, asserting that the military objectives in the area have been achieved and that Netanyahu continues the war to maintain his power. The officials explained that the White House sees Netanyahu's actions as conflicting with the possibility of reaching a ceasefire, and that they do not expect Trump to hold Netanyahu accountable, pointing out that there are sometimes differences in positions among allies.

The officials added that Trump's patience is mainly running out with Hamas, not with Netanyahu, and that he wants to end the war, while being aware of the increasing anger from Israel's supporters within the United States. Trump had described the situation in Gaza as tragic, shameful, and catastrophic, confirming that he provided $60 million in humanitarian aid two weeks ago, and that he aims for the residents to receive food, despite not seeing tangible results from this aid so far.

Regarding the military escalation, occupation forces continue to bombard various areas of the Gaza Strip amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions, with recent airstrikes resulting in dozens of martyrs and injuries, including several humanitarian aid seekers. Medical sources reported that hospitals in the Strip recorded six new deaths in recent hours due to malnutrition and starvation, bringing the total number of victims to 175 martyrs, including 93 children, amid the ongoing systematic Israeli policies of starvation.

Trump describes the war in Gaza as not genocide

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated during his remarks to reporters before boarding the presidential plane in Pennsylvania that the ongoing war in Gaza is not a genocide, adding that the situation there is different from statements that talk about the complete extermination of the Palestinian people.

Trump added that there are many confusions regarding the nature of the military operations carried out by the occupying army, emphasizing that what is happening is an armed conflict and not genocide, and that it is important to understand the context accurately before making judgments.

He continued that statements talking about genocide could lead to escalating tensions, and that the international community must closely monitor the situation to ensure that matters do not escalate to undesirable outcomes.

In this context, Trump pointed out that political solutions are still possible, and that dialogue is the only way to permanently end the conflict, expressing hope that the concerned parties will take steps towards peace.

American coercive diplomacy undermines trust among allies and raises international concerns.

American Coercive Diplomacy Undermines Trust in Allies and Raises International Concerns

U.S. President Donald Trump has relied on a diplomatic style based on coercion and economic pressure, issuing executive orders on July 31 to impose tariffs on dozens of countries, which took effect on August 8, including neighboring and friendly nations, as well as poor countries suffering from complex economic crises.

Trump's policy is not limited to imposing tariffs; it extends to interfering in the internal affairs of countries, including judicial proceedings and foreign policies, using tariffs as a weapon to intimidate and threaten nations that do not comply with his demands, jeopardizing ally relationships and undermining trust in international commitments.

Despite Trump's promises to negotiate and force countries to sign trade agreements in favor of the United States, he has only signed agreements with seven allied countries and the European Union, while raising tariffs on about 70 countries by rates ranging from 10% to 50%, imposing sanctions on allies such as Canada, India, and Brazil.

Trump imposed high tariffs on Canadian imports, reaching 35%, on India 25%, and on Brazil 50%, which observers considered a mix of politics and economics, using economic power as a means of political pressure, especially with his threat to disrupt the balance in relations with Canada after the latter announced its intention to recognize the Palestinian state at the United Nations.

Trump also threatened Brazil, the second-largest economy in South America, with increased tariffs on its goods, including coffee and oil, if it did not stop the trial of former president Bolsonaro, who faces charges related to an attempted coup, reflecting an unprecedented escalation in international relations.

In a related context, Trump raised tariffs on Indian imports by 25%, criticized its relations with Russia, described the Indian economy as "dead," and attacked the Russian S-400 deal, leading to a deterioration of trust among allies and threats of retaliation from India, Canada, and Brazil, which announced its intention to respond in kind.

Additionally, Trump imposed tariffs on key allies such as the European Union, Japan, South Korea, and even Israel, which is considered a close ally, raising widespread concern among allies, especially amid tensions with Gulf countries, which fear Trump's unpredictable policies, particularly after the Aramco attack in 2019.

In a recent study, experts confirmed that American retrenchment policy threatens the security of the Gulf region, calling for the establishment of a collective Gulf security alliance to deter threats, amid deteriorating trust among allies, with the American newspaper "Financial Times" describing Trump's actions as a destruction of global allies, reflecting a loss of trust and international respect.

Hamas accuses Netanyahu of seeking to end the prisoners through starvation.

Hamas Accuses Netanyahu of Seeking to End the Prisoners through Starvation

A member of Hamas's political bureau, Ezzat al-Rashq, accused the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of seeking to end the issue of Palestinian prisoners through a policy of starvation, after his failure to determine their locations and the occupation's bombing of them. He affirmed that Netanyahu and his Nazi government bear full responsibility for this approach, which began with a war of starvation and thirst against the Palestinian people, and its effects have also extended to the prisoners.

Al-Rashq pointed out that the Palestinian resistance treats its prisoners according to the teachings of their religion and the values of their humanity, as they feed them from what they eat and give them drink from what they drink, unlike the brutal policies pursued by the occupation forces. He explained that previous exchange operations showed that the prisoners emerged from the occupation's grip in good health, while today they suffer from hunger, emaciation, and weight loss, a scene that connects the suffering of the prisoners with the besieged people of Gaza.

Al-Rashq noted that the unjust siege imposed by Netanyahu on Gaza also included the prisoners, as they were not spared from the yoke of brutal starvation. He confirmed that images of hunger on the faces of children, women, and the elderly in Gaza, before the image of the Israeli soldier Avitar David, constitute damning evidence of the existence of widespread famine in the sector. He clarified that starvation is part of Netanyahu's plan to end the issue of the prisoners by killing them through hunger, after his failure to locate them or kill them through direct bombing.

In a related context, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released a clip showing the Israeli prisoner Avitar David suffering from severe weight loss due to the ongoing starvation policy. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll due to the Israeli starvation policy has risen to 175 Palestinians, including 93 children, since the onset of the aggression on October 7, 2023.

Israel estimates that there are 50 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while more than 10,800 Palestinians are held in occupation prisons suffering from torture, hunger, and medical neglect, leading to the deaths of many of them, according to Palestinian and Israeli human rights and media reports.

Despite Hamas's readiness to release the Israeli prisoners all at once in exchange for ending the war, the withdrawal of the occupation from Gaza, and the release of Palestinian prisoners, Netanyahu refuses this and imposes new conditions, including the disarmament of Palestinian factions, and insists on reoccupying the sector. Since the onset of the aggression on October 7, 2023, Israel has committed acts of genocide, while continuing the policy of starvation, having closed all crossings to humanitarian aid, leading to the spread of famine and reaching catastrophic levels.

These policies have resulted in the deaths of more than 210,000 Palestinians, including martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and an increase in the number of missing persons, with the spread of famine claiming many lives.

International Organizations: Witkoff's Statements on Gaza are Shocking and Ignore Documented Hunger

Seventeen international human rights and legal organizations expressed their deep shock at the statements made by the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who denied the existence of famine in the Gaza Strip. They considered his remarks to be a deliberate denial of a catastrophic reality supported by evidence and international testimonies. The organizations called on the United Nations and the Security Council to send an urgent international investigation committee to Gaza and to form an independent legal committee under the supervision of the International Court of Justice to investigate the systematic starvation policy against more than two million civilians in the region.

The organizations confirmed that Witkoff's statements ignore documented human rights reports and contradict data from UN organizations that confirmed deaths due to hunger, which reached 159 victims, including 90 children. Witkoff claimed during his meeting with the families of Israeli prisoners in Tel Aviv on Saturday that there is no famine in Gaza, stating: "There is hardship and shortage, but there is no hunger."

This statement came after his visit to a distribution center for aid in Rafah, in the southern part of the Strip, which is affiliated with the U.S. and Israeli-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, operating outside UN oversight. The organizations demanded that the international community pressure Israel to allow journalists into Gaza, after what they described as "the longest media blackout on a conflict area in modern times," aimed at concealing crimes of genocide and mass starvation.

They pointed out that the effects of famine were clearly visible in video recordings of Israeli prisoners inside Gaza, who showed signs of hunger and malnutrition, reflecting the widening crisis and its reach to everyone. Earlier, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of deaths due to the starvation policy since October 7, 2023, had risen to 180 Palestinians, including 93 children, after five people died within 24 hours due to malnutrition.

The government media office also mentioned that Israel allowed the entry of 674 aid trucks since July 27, which is about 14% of the daily minimum required for the region, which is 600 trucks. The organizations warned that the international silence regarding the humanitarian disaster amounts to complicity, demanding urgent action to stop the crime of starvation and hold those responsible accountable.

The list of signatories to the statement included international human rights and media organizations, including the Al-Dameer Network, the Arab Council, Human Rights Monitor, and human rights institutions in Geneva, London, Istanbul, and Paris. They confirmed that the continued siege and media blackout aim to conceal genocide crimes, and that the effects of famine are evident in the recordings of the prisoners, with the humanitarian situation deteriorating at an unprecedented rate.

The World Food Program warned that one-third of Gaza's population has not eaten for days, describing the humanitarian situation in the region as unprecedented in terms of levels of hunger and despair. Despite the accumulation of aid at the entrances to the region, Israel continues to prevent its entry or control its distribution outside UN oversight, while firing on civilians gathering for food, resulting in the deaths of more than one thousand five hundred Palestinians and injuries to more than ten thousand since May 27, 2023.

Since the onset of genocide on October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. support, has continued to impose a comprehensive siege, closing all crossings to aid, leading to the spread of famine and reaching catastrophic levels, resulting in more than 210,000 martyrs and wounded, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced and missing persons, with a serious deterioration in the humanitarian situation.

UN Official: Images of the Hungry in Gaza Are Heartbreaking and Unbearable

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, stated that the images showing the suffering of the hungry in the Gaza Strip are heart-wrenching and represent scenes that cannot be tolerated, emphasizing that the current situation requires a definitive end to the ongoing violence in the region.

Turk pointed out in his statement that the systematic starvation policy pursued by Israel against the Palestinians in Gaza constitutes a blatant violation of human rights, asserting that reaching this miserable humanitarian state is an affront to human dignity and must stop immediately.

He stressed that saving lives should be everyone's priority, calling for the lifting of restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid to the sector, as Israel continues to impose strict limitations on the arrival of aid, exacerbating the suffering of the civilian population.

Turk stated that the aid allowed to enter is far less than the actual need, demanding that Israel immediately permit the delivery of sufficient aid to those in need without obstacles, affirming that this would alleviate suffering and reduce loss of life.

He clarified that depriving civilians of access to food constitutes a war crime, and possibly a crime against humanity, urging the international community to take immediate action to stop these violations.

Turk reiterated his call for the immediate release of Israeli detainees in the Gaza Strip, and urged third parties to refrain from contributing to violations of international law committed by any party to the conflict, emphasizing the necessity of exerting pressure to prevent the continuation of these violations and to put an end to them.

He noted that since the start of its operations on October 7, 2023, Israel has been committing acts of genocide, having intensified its measures on March 2, by closing all crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine and reaching "catastrophic" levels of its indicators.

These crimes, supported by the United States, have resulted in over 210,000 Palestinians being killed or injured, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, with the number of victims increasing due to the famine that has claimed many lives.

Palestine condemns the visit of the U.S. House Speaker to a settlement in the West Bank

On Monday, Palestine condemned the visit of U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson to the "Ariel" settlement built on Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank, considering it a provocative step that contradicts international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the visit, affirming that this step represents a blatant violation of the rights of the Palestinian people and constitutes a serious escalation that threatens peace prospects and undermines international efforts to halt settlement expansion.

The ministry also condemned the inciting statements made by Johnson, in which he called for the annexation of the West Bank, considering that this reflects a premeditated intention to legitimize settlement and impose facts on the ground that contradict the declared U.S. position regarding the necessity of halting settlement.

The ministry pointed out that all settlement is illegal and undermines the two-state solution, threatening the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

In a related context, the international community has repeatedly confirmed that settlement is illegal and obstructs efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, calling for its immediate cessation without preconditions.

The occupied Palestinian territories are witnessing an escalation in Israeli assaults, as the occupation forces and settlers continue their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the martyrdom of more than a thousand Palestinians since the beginning of October 2023, including children and women, and injuring thousands, in addition to the arrest of tens of thousands.

In Gaza, the occupation forces are committing genocide since the beginning of the recent aggression, resulting in hundreds of deaths and injuries, and massive destruction of infrastructure, while forced displacement and famine continue to claim the lives of many civilians.

At the same time, assaults in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, are escalating, where the occupation has killed more than 1,013 Palestinians, injured about 7,000 others, and arrested more than 18,500 Palestinians, according to official Palestinian data.

The President of Ireland Calls on Guterres to Activate Chapter Seven Against Israel

Irish President Michael Higgins has called on United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres to activate Chapter Seven of the United Nations Charter against Israel, in light of the crimes committed in Gaza by the Israeli occupation, which include genocide, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement.

In statements made to local "RTE" radio, Higgins emphasized that the United Nations must take decisive action, saying: "I believe that the Secretary-General of the United Nations should use the procedures outlined in the United Nations Charter, utilizing Chapter Seven," which pertains to the maintenance of international peace and security and grants the Security Council the authority to take strict measures against those who threaten or violate peace.

The Irish president added that the right to take action remains valid even if there is a veto by Security Council members, noting that the Secretary-General has the right to seek to form an international defense for the Palestinian people, despite international objections.

He pointed out that 6,000 aid trucks have been prevented from entering Gaza, despite being sufficient for three months, stating: "This is a terrible situation," expressing his dismay at the tragic scene experienced by the Palestinian people, where children are starving, and women are suffering from dehydration while trying to feed their children, calling for urgent action to save the situation.

In a related context, the government media office in Gaza announced that Israel has allowed only 674 aid trucks to enter since July 27, which is about 14 percent of the daily minimum required for the sector, estimated at around 600 trucks, amid the ongoing blockade and restrictions on the entry of aid.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with the support of the United States, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop these crimes. These operations have resulted in the martyrdom of more than 210,000 Palestinians, including many children and women, and injured tens of thousands, in addition to over 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, and famine that has claimed many lives.

Hebrew media: Documents confirm Netanyahu's rejection of security proposals for the return of prisoners

Hebrew Media: Documents Confirm Netanyahu's Rejection of Security Proposals to Release Prisoners

A Hebrew channel revealed protocols from secret meetings held by the political and security leadership in Israel during the last ceasefire deal in Gaza, proving that there was a possibility to release all prisoners and stop the war, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu deliberately rejected that, according to sources. Channel 13 explained that security institution leaders believed that reaching a comprehensive deal was possible, and that resuming the war was an option on the table, but Netanyahu intentionally obstructed that.

It pointed out that the Israeli leadership miscalculated that pressure on Hamas regarding humanitarian issues would lead to its surrender, and that Israel's behavior in delivering aid to Gaza harmed its international standing without affecting Hamas. The protocol discussed the first meeting on March 1, 2025, days after the martyrdom of Palestinian prisoners, where there was hesitation about moving to the second phase of the deal, which concerns discussing the terms for ending the war and releasing more prisoners.

In the meeting, Major General Nitzan Alon, responsible for the prisoners' file, stated that the only opportunity to release the captives lies in negotiating the terms of the second phase, but Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer responded that he was not prepared to end the war while Hamas was still in power, expressing his belief that matters would escalate once negotiations began. The head of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) at the time, Ronen Bar, clarified that the preferred option was to reach the second phase, with the possibility of returning to fighting if necessary.

Tel Aviv estimates that there are about 50 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, of whom 20 are alive, while more than 10,000 Palestinians are imprisoned under occupation, suffering from torture, starvation, and medical neglect, leading to the deaths of many of them. Sources confirmed that Israel categorically refused to negotiate the second phase, despite the existence of options to save the prisoners, and instead continued military escalation against Gaza, resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of Palestinians, including children and women, and the displacement of hundreds of thousands.

In their comments on the channel's report, families of Israeli prisoners stated that what was mentioned proves that the government was capable of reaching a comprehensive deal, but deliberately aborted it to maintain its hold on power, especially with the rising internal and external pressures. They confirmed that dozens of their relatives were captured alive, but were killed while waiting for a deal that the government had no intention of implementing, and that since the end of the previous deal, 50 Israeli soldiers have fallen, with none of the captives being returned.

Palestinian and Israeli reports confirm that Hamas is ready to release the Israeli prisoners all at once in exchange for ending the war, halting the aggression, and returning the Palestinian prisoners. However, Netanyahu insists on implementing partial deals, fearing the collapse of his government, especially with the escalation of the Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in hundreds of thousands of martyrs and injured, widespread destruction, and an increase in the number of missing and displaced persons.

Former officials in the Mossad and Shin Bet urge Trump to pressure for an end to the war in Gaza.

Former Officials in Mossad and Shin Bet Urge Trump to Pressure for an End to the War in Gaza

Former officials in Israeli security agencies, including Mossad and Shin Bet, and the military presidency, have called on former U.S. President Donald Trump to pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end military operations in the Gaza Strip, according to the Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post."

The newspaper published a letter addressed to Trump from a group called "Leaders for Israel's Security," which includes over 600 senior former security officials, containing a clear call for Trump to take decisive action to end the ongoing war in Gaza. The letter included signatures from former Mossad chief Tamir Pardo, former Shin Bet chief Avi Dichter, and former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli army Matan Vilnai.

The text of the letter states that the group is asking Trump to "stop the Gaza war," noting that this comes on behalf of the largest gathering of former military and security leaders, who affirmed that the time has come to end military operations in the sector, as they did previously in Lebanon. The group emphasized that Trump's credibility with the majority of Israelis gives him the ability to direct Netanyahu and his government towards ending the war, releasing the prisoners, alleviating the suffering of the population, and forming an international regional coalition to support the Palestinian Authority in providing an alternative to Hamas.

Regarding potential steps if Hamas refuses negotiations, senior officials clarified that what is needed is for Israel to announce its readiness to end the war in exchange for the return of all detained prisoners, a proposal that Hamas had made since the beginning of the conflict. The group also called for acceptance of the proposed international framework, which stipulates that Egypt, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, along with a restructured Palestinian Authority, would manage Gaza after the war ends.

Opposition officials reported that Netanyahu might intervene to maintain his government if Israel were to strike such a deal with Hamas, but he has rejected this option, as he also refuses to grant the Palestinian Authority a foothold in Gaza, given his strong opposition to any efforts that could lead to the establishment of a Palestinian state, even if it were under the Authority's management and not Hamas's.

Abu Ubaida: Al-Qassam Brigades are ready to cooperate with the Red Cross to bring in medicine and food for the prisoners

The spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, announced that the movement is ready to cooperate positively with the Red Cross to bring medicine and food to the prisoners held by the Israeli occupation, emphasizing the importance of permanently opening humanitarian corridors to enable the delivery of food and medicine to all members of the Palestinian people in all areas of the Gaza Strip.

Abu Ubaida pointed out that the Al-Qassam Brigades condition the continuous opening of humanitarian corridors to ensure the regular passage of food and medicine, expressing the movement's readiness to respond to any request from the Red Cross in this regard, confirming that the prisoners will not receive special privileges in light of the crime of starvation and the siege imposed on them by the occupation.

He clarified that the Al-Qassam Brigades do not deliberately starve the prisoners, but rather they eat what their fighters and the general population of the Palestinian people eat, noting that the difficult conditions faced by the prisoners are a result of the ongoing siege and aggression on the Gaza Strip, and that the movement seeks to improve their conditions within the available capabilities.

The West Bank.. Israeli army closes downtown Hebron as part of military deployment.

Closure in Hebron and Israeli military deployment to enhance settlers' incursions into an archaeological site

Israeli army forces closed the center of Hebron city in the southern occupied West Bank on Sunday evening, as part of an extensive military deployment aimed at securing settlers' incursions into an archaeological site known as "the Tomb of Hebron" on one of the city's streets. The area witnessed a wide deployment of occupation forces that closed central and vital markets, forcing shop owners to close their stores, which led to the area being emptied of Palestinians.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation forces were heavily deployed on Beer Sheva Street, where settlers invaded the archaeological site in groups, accompanied by Israeli army personnel, and performed Talmudic rituals at the site that settlers claim is the tomb of "Hebron" or "Ben Kanas," believed to belong to a Jew who lived in Hebron in the past. Palestinians assert that the tomb is located inside the basement of a Palestinian home, a claim denied by the Jewish narrative.

In the context of the escalation, the Israeli army and settlers have increased their assaults in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of at least one thousand two hundred and twelve Palestinians, and injuring about seven thousand others, in addition to the arrest of more than eighteen thousand five hundred people, according to official Palestinian data. Israel continues its genocidal campaign in Gaza since the beginning of October 2023, which has resulted in over 210,000 martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, with more than nine thousand missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming the lives of many innocents.

Turkey strongly condemns Ben Gvir's raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Turkey strongly condemns Ben Gvir's raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque and emphasizes the responsibility to protect holy sites

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its strong condemnation on Sunday of the raid by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir on Al-Aqsa Mosque in East Jerusalem, accompanied by settlers and under the protection of Israeli police forces. The ministry confirmed in an official statement that protecting Islamic holy sites and the religious identity of Jerusalem is not only a regional responsibility but a shared humanitarian duty that requires international efforts to preserve them.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry pointed out that these systematic provocations and the recent calls to annex parts of Jerusalem by Israel aim to undermine the foundations of the two-state solution and cause severe damage to hopes for peace and stability in the region. Turkey called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the escalation and work towards establishing a lasting peace based on the two-state solution, ensuring the rights of Palestinians and halting destabilizing occupation practices.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry reiterated its strong condemnation of the incursions by some Israeli ministers into Al-Aqsa Mosque, confirming that this was done under the protection of Israeli police and with the participation of groups of Israeli settlers. It stated that these actions constitute a blatant violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and represent a serious escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region.

On Sunday morning, the leader of the far-right "Jewish Power" party, Ben Gvir, again raided Al-Aqsa Mosque, where he led a Talmudic prayer in its courtyards to commemorate what they call the "destruction of the temple." Hebrew media outlets, including "Israel Hayom" and Channel 7, published video clips showing the raid carried out by Ben Gvir, amid a heavy presence of settlers.

This was preceded by hundreds of settlers raiding Al-Aqsa Mosque, where they performed Talmudic prayers in view of the police forces that provide protection for the incursions, which are under Ben Gvir's authority. These actions are provocative and continuously escalate, increasing tensions in the region and threatening opportunities for calm and peace.

600 Former Israeli Officials Urge Trump to Pressure for an End to the War in Gaza

The Israeli newspaper "Jerusalem Post" reported that more than 600 former security officials from Israel sent a message to former U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to intervene and pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the ongoing military operations in the Gaza Strip.

These former officials include Tamir Pardo, the former head of the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad), and Ami Ayalon, the former head of the internal security agency (Shabak), as well as former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israeli Army, Matan Vilnai. They emphasized in their message that the situation requires urgent action from the U.S. administration to ensure regional stability and protect Israel's security.

The newspaper noted that the initiative is part of efforts led by these officials, along with prominent figures from the police and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, within the group "Leaders for Israel's Security," which now includes more than 600 former security officials. Their aim is to urge Trump to effectively intervene to end the military escalation in Gaza, which significantly threatens the security of the region.

In a related context, they confirmed that the continuation of military operations could exacerbate the situation, increase the suffering of civilian populations, and further threaten regional stability. They called for the necessity of working towards a ceasefire and opening a political dialogue that leads to a permanent solution to the crisis.

The Occupation Energy Minister Threatens Firmly Against Hamas and Affirms No Surrender

The Israeli occupation's Energy Minister announced that Tel Aviv will not retreat or surrender to Hamas, affirming that any attempt to achieve an illusory peace with the movement will face severe consequences in the future.

In statements he made, the minister indicated that Israel will remain steadfast in its position and will not concede its rights, warning that those seeking to achieve a false peace with Hamas will pay a heavy price in the long term.

In a related context, the British Foreign Secretary called for the immediate release of all detainees in Gaza without preconditions, emphasizing that Hamas must disarm and relinquish control of the sector.

On the other hand, French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that the current priority is the immediate release of hostages without delay, along with the reimposition of a ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible.

Macron also stressed the importance of disarming Hamas and excluding it from any future role in managing the sector, affirming that a political solution requires radical steps to ensure the security and stability of the region.

Israeli writer: International recognition of the State of Palestine is a misleading alternative to punishing Tel Aviv.

International Recognition of Palestine Reflects Political Interests and Threatens Efforts to End the Conflict

Israeli writer Gideon Levy stated that international recognition of Palestine serves as a reward for Israel, as it represents a misleading alternative to imposing sanctions on Tel Aviv, which has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. He explained that European recognition of the State of Palestine is used as a means to calm angry populations without taking practical measures to stop the massacres.

Levy pointed out that 15 Western countries, including France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal, issued a collective call for recognition of the State of Palestine and a ceasefire, following a conference held in New York chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, attended by Palestinian delegations and absent the American delegation. He emphasized that these statements do not change the fact that Israel ignores those calls, with support from the United States.

The writer addressed London's announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine, where British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he might withdraw his recognition if Israel does not take steps to end the tragic situation in Gaza, reflecting the pressure of fear from the Trump administration on Europe. He explained that Starmer's move has prompted other countries to follow the same approach, although it does not stop the ongoing massacres.

Levy noted that the recognitions by European countries, despite their symbolic stance, do not contribute to ending the massacres but rather provide Israel with a justification to ignore sanctions, and are used as a means to raise the need for a permanent solution to the conflict. He affirmed that practical punitive measures are necessary to force Israel to end the war, especially since the international community has the means to do so.

In a related context, French President Emmanuel Macron announced last July that France would recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly in September, followed by Spain, Norway, and Ireland in May 2024, bringing the number of recognizing countries to 149 out of 193 in the United Nations. This comes amid escalating international movements in light of Israel's ongoing war against Gaza, which has left more than 210,000 Palestinians dead or injured, with hundreds of thousands displaced and widespread famine.

Britain welcomes 300 children from Gaza for medical treatment.

Britain Prepares to Evacuate Hundreds of Children from Gaza for Medical Treatment

British media reports indicate that up to 300 children are expected to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip to the United Kingdom in the coming weeks for necessary medical treatment as health conditions continue to deteriorate due to the ongoing aggression in the region.

The British news agency reported that the announcement of these plans will be made soon, with the British Home Office responsible for conducting biometric and security checks on the children scheduled for evacuation before their travel to Britain, to ensure their safety and the safety of their companions.

The evacuation plan includes that each child will be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or relative, if necessary, to provide psychological and security support during the journey and throughout their treatment in Britain.

This initiative is part of the efforts of the "Project Pure Hope" group, which was specifically established to transport sick and injured children from Gaza to Britain for specialized treatment, as part of the international community's support for the humanitarian situation in the region.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed last week that the British government is working to expedite the transfer of children from Gaza, noting that the goal is to provide them with urgent medical care as quickly as possible.

A spokesperson for the British government stated, "We are taking concrete steps to evacuate children who need urgent treatment, and we aim to bring them to Britain for specialized healthcare, which is the best option for them."

He added that the government continues to work at a rapid pace to complete the evacuation operations, and that further details will be announced in due course to ensure transparency and facilitate the transportation process safely and effectively.

Abdel-Aty: Egypt is facing a vile campaign to ease pressure on Israel.

Abdel Aati: Egypt Faces a Despicable Campaign to Alleviate Pressure on Israel

The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aati, stated that Egypt is subjected to what he described as a "systematic despicable campaign" aimed at reducing pressure on Israel by promoting false claims accusing Egypt of negligence in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip. He clarified during the "Egyptians Abroad" conference that Egypt has provided 70% of the humanitarian aid to the sector, and those who attack it are unjustly directing accusations at it.

Abdel Aati pointed to gatherings around several Egyptian embassies demanding the opening of the Rafah crossing for the passage of aid, which Cairo rejects, affirming that Israel obstructs the passage of aid. He confirmed that Egypt has been and remains the true supporter of the Palestinian people since the Nakba, and that its efforts continue to achieve the Palestinians' goals and ensure their right to establish their independent state.

In his comments on those who attack the Egyptian role, Abdel Aati described them as "deluded" and lacking understanding of the geo-strategic considerations of the region, emphasizing that Egypt rejects any attempts to exploit its role in the Palestinian issue and opposes calls for the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

He also affirmed that Egypt takes clear positions in support of the Palestinians and works to protect their rights, noting that any claims accusing Egypt of negligence in providing aid or marginalizing its role in the Palestinian issue are incorrect, and that it will continue to support the Palestinian people until their aspirations are realized.

Lebanese Minister: We will not allow "Hezbollah" to drag the country into suicide.

Lebanese Minister Threatens: We Will Not Allow Hezbollah to Drag the Country into Suicide

Lebanese Minister of Justice Adel Nassar confirmed on Sunday that Hezbollah will choose suicide if it refuses to hand over its weapons, and that the government will not allow it to drag the country into that fate. This came through a post on X platform, ahead of a Cabinet session to discuss the issue of restricting weapons to the state and enhancing its sovereignty over all Lebanese territory.

Nassar stated, "If Hezbollah chooses suicide by refusing to hand over its weapons, it will not be allowed to drag Lebanon and its people with it," according to the Lebanese official agency. He explained that illegal weapons have become a burden threatening internal stability and opening the door to security, economic, and diplomatic disasters for which all Lebanese bear responsibility.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced that the Cabinet will discuss during its next session the issue of asserting the state's sovereignty over its entire territory, including disarming Hezbollah and restricting weapons to the state. For his part, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem confirmed that the party will not hand over its weapons for the sake of Israel, pointing out that the priority now is reconstruction and stopping the aggression.

On July 4, Qassem stated that those who demand the resistance to hand over its weapons should first demand the departure of the Israeli occupation, considering that criticism should be directed at the occupation and not the resistance. President Joseph Aoun also revealed that the United States has made proposals regarding the exclusivity of weapons, clarifying that the amendments made will be presented to the Cabinet soon, including stopping Israeli attacks, the withdrawal of occupying forces, and asserting the state's authority over all territories, including the weapons of all armed forces.

In a related context, the commander of the Lebanese army confirmed that the non-withdrawal of Israeli forces from the south is the only obstacle to completing the deployment of Lebanese units, amid ongoing escalation in southern Lebanon where Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since late November 2024. Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023, which developed into a wide war, more than 4,000 have been killed and 17,000 injured.

On November 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect, but Israel violated it more than 3,000 times, resulting in 262 deaths and 563 injuries. Despite this, Israel carried out a partial withdrawal from southern Lebanon, while continuing to occupy five hills it seized during the last war.

Death of a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli Megiddo prison sparks Palestinian outrage

Two Palestinian institutions announced on Sunday the death of a prisoner from the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank in Israeli Megiddo prison, which sparked a wave of anger and condemnation in Palestinian circles. The Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Palestinian Authority's Commission of Detainees' Affairs confirmed in a joint statement that the administrative detainee Ahmad Saeed Saleh Tazazaa, 20 years old, was martyred inside the prison.

The General Authority for Civil Affairs, the official Palestinian body responsible for communication with the Israeli side, clarified that the information it received indicates that the martyr had been detained since May 6 of last year, without precise details available regarding the circumstances of his death. The statement mentioned that Ahmad Tazazaa was held under administrative detention, a decision that allows for the detention of Palestinians without formal charges, usually lasting for six months and subject to extension, during which the detainee is prohibited from accessing the secret files presented to the court.

Hidden agendas.. How does Washington exploit aid in Gaza to achieve its goals?

Hidden Goals of Washington Through Gaza Aid: Political and Humanitarian Exploitation

Widespread accusations have emerged regarding the United States' exploitation of humanitarian aid provided to the Gaza Strip, as the underlying goals behind these initiatives are multiple, despite the official announcement of a desire to alleviate the suffering of the population. On the ground, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an American company backed by Israel, emerged, established last February and began its work in May, claiming to aim at reducing hunger; however, its distribution centers have turned into death traps, according to testimonies from Israeli soldiers and Hebrew media.

A report by Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the distribution centers managed by the foundation have become a site for killing Palestinians, increasing anger towards its operational mechanism. In an attempt to contain the criticisms, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, visited a distribution center in Rafah and briefed President Donald Trump on his assessment of the situation. However, doubts surround the neutrality of the foundation, especially with the ambiguity of its funding sources and the background of its executive director, John Moore, a former advisor to Trump, during whose tenure the number of casualties rose and the dignity of aid seekers was violated.

In the context of international movements, 170 relief organizations called for the closure of the foundation, and 92 Democratic members of the House of Representatives urged the State Department to investigate its ownership and operational mechanisms, pointing out that it receives funding from Israel. France, through its foreign minister, described the foundation's system as disgraceful, while Palestinian resistance factions considered the distribution of aid through it an insult to humanity and an implementation of Israeli plans aimed at eliminating the role of international organizations, especially UNRWA, which has the expertise and resources necessary for effective aid distribution.

Conversely, Palestinian factions believe that these institutions are subjected to a conspiracy aimed at eliminating the true humanitarian role, especially after Israel closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, prompting the search for alternatives in coordination with the United States. Washington attempted through the failed floating Gaza port project and also through dropping aerial aid, but those attempts were ridiculed, as some aid fell in combat areas and resulted in the deaths of Palestinians.

In the end, it becomes clear that the true aim of U.S. intervention is to eliminate the humanitarian role of the United Nations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and to give Israel free rein to use starvation as a means of pressure on Palestinians, either through extermination or displacement, reflecting a premeditated intention to exploit aid for political and security purposes at the expense of the suffering of civilian populations.

Netanyahu Calls on the Red Cross to Provide Food and Medical Care for Detainees in Gaza

In a new step within the humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide food and medical treatment for detainees in the region, amid increasing international demands to stop the suffering of civilians and to implement a ceasefire.

This request comes amid growing pressure on Netanyahu's government from the international community, which is calling for an end to the aggression against Gaza and for humanitarian aid to be allowed, as the living conditions for civilians in the region continue to deteriorate.

The region is witnessing an increase in international calls to end the humanitarian crisis, with ongoing military escalation leading to a significant deterioration in humanitarian conditions, and a rise in the number of detainees and civilian casualties.

Dukas sharply criticizes the Israeli ambassador and denounces the focus on anti-Semitic cartoons.

Dukas Criticizes the Israeli Ambassador and Denounces the Focus on Anti-Semitic Graffiti

Harris Dukas, the Mayor of Athens, sharply criticized the Israeli ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, after he accused local authorities of failing to remove graffiti deemed anti-Semitic and offensive to Israeli tourists. This came in a post on X, where he affirmed that city authorities reject violence and discrimination in all its forms, adding that "we do not accept lessons in democracy from those who kill civilians."

In response to the Israeli ambassador's statements reported by the newspaper "Kathimerini," in which he accused the Municipality of Athens of not making enough effort to protect the city from organized groups writing anti-Semitic slogans, Dukas pointed out that most of the graffiti he referred to had already been removed, and that the focus on this graffiti comes at a time when unprecedented genocide is being committed against Palestinians in Gaza. He emphasized that the priority should be holding accountable those who commit major crimes against humanity, not just focusing on wall drawings.

Athens has witnessed ongoing protests since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, organized by activists and leftists to denounce the bombing and military aggression against the sector, and protests have also erupted in some Greek islands in objection to the arrival of cruise ships carrying Israelis. Dukas noted that the number of Israelis obtaining the "golden visa" for investment in Greece has increased by more than 90% over the past year, amid a rise in the number of tourists coming from Israel since the outbreak of the war on Gaza.

In the context of international relations, the Greek government finds itself in a sensitive position, as it maintains its historical relations with Arab countries while working to strengthen its partnerships with Israel in defense and energy sectors, despite the increasing voices in the West announcing their intention to recognize the Palestinian state, reflecting the complexity of the political landscape in the region.
