Israeli writer: International recognition of the State of Palestine is a misleading alternative to punishing Tel Aviv.

International Recognition of Palestine Reflects Political Interests and Threatens Efforts to End the Conflict

Israeli writer Gideon Levy stated that international recognition of Palestine serves as a reward for Israel, as it represents a misleading alternative to imposing sanctions on Tel Aviv, which has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023. He explained that European recognition of the State of Palestine is used as a means to calm angry populations without taking practical measures to stop the massacres.

Levy pointed out that 15 Western countries, including France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Portugal, issued a collective call for recognition of the State of Palestine and a ceasefire, following a conference held in New York chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, attended by Palestinian delegations and absent the American delegation. He emphasized that these statements do not change the fact that Israel ignores those calls, with support from the United States.

The writer addressed London's announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine, where British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he might withdraw his recognition if Israel does not take steps to end the tragic situation in Gaza, reflecting the pressure of fear from the Trump administration on Europe. He explained that Starmer's move has prompted other countries to follow the same approach, although it does not stop the ongoing massacres.

Levy noted that the recognitions by European countries, despite their symbolic stance, do not contribute to ending the massacres but rather provide Israel with a justification to ignore sanctions, and are used as a means to raise the need for a permanent solution to the conflict. He affirmed that practical punitive measures are necessary to force Israel to end the war, especially since the international community has the means to do so.

In a related context, French President Emmanuel Macron announced last July that France would recognize the State of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly in September, followed by Spain, Norway, and Ireland in May 2024, bringing the number of recognizing countries to 149 out of 193 in the United Nations. This comes amid escalating international movements in light of Israel's ongoing war against Gaza, which has left more than 210,000 Palestinians dead or injured, with hundreds of thousands displaced and widespread famine.

Britain welcomes 300 children from Gaza for medical treatment.

Britain Prepares to Evacuate Hundreds of Children from Gaza for Medical Treatment

British media reports indicate that up to 300 children are expected to be evacuated from the Gaza Strip to the United Kingdom in the coming weeks for necessary medical treatment as health conditions continue to deteriorate due to the ongoing aggression in the region.

The British news agency reported that the announcement of these plans will be made soon, with the British Home Office responsible for conducting biometric and security checks on the children scheduled for evacuation before their travel to Britain, to ensure their safety and the safety of their companions.

The evacuation plan includes that each child will be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or relative, if necessary, to provide psychological and security support during the journey and throughout their treatment in Britain.

This initiative is part of the efforts of the "Project Pure Hope" group, which was specifically established to transport sick and injured children from Gaza to Britain for specialized treatment, as part of the international community's support for the humanitarian situation in the region.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed last week that the British government is working to expedite the transfer of children from Gaza, noting that the goal is to provide them with urgent medical care as quickly as possible.

A spokesperson for the British government stated, "We are taking concrete steps to evacuate children who need urgent treatment, and we aim to bring them to Britain for specialized healthcare, which is the best option for them."

He added that the government continues to work at a rapid pace to complete the evacuation operations, and that further details will be announced in due course to ensure transparency and facilitate the transportation process safely and effectively.

Abdel-Aty: Egypt is facing a vile campaign to ease pressure on Israel.

Abdel Aati: Egypt Faces a Despicable Campaign to Alleviate Pressure on Israel

The Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel Aati, stated that Egypt is subjected to what he described as a "systematic despicable campaign" aimed at reducing pressure on Israel by promoting false claims accusing Egypt of negligence in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip. He clarified during the "Egyptians Abroad" conference that Egypt has provided 70% of the humanitarian aid to the sector, and those who attack it are unjustly directing accusations at it.

Abdel Aati pointed to gatherings around several Egyptian embassies demanding the opening of the Rafah crossing for the passage of aid, which Cairo rejects, affirming that Israel obstructs the passage of aid. He confirmed that Egypt has been and remains the true supporter of the Palestinian people since the Nakba, and that its efforts continue to achieve the Palestinians' goals and ensure their right to establish their independent state.

In his comments on those who attack the Egyptian role, Abdel Aati described them as "deluded" and lacking understanding of the geo-strategic considerations of the region, emphasizing that Egypt rejects any attempts to exploit its role in the Palestinian issue and opposes calls for the displacement of Palestinians from their land.

He also affirmed that Egypt takes clear positions in support of the Palestinians and works to protect their rights, noting that any claims accusing Egypt of negligence in providing aid or marginalizing its role in the Palestinian issue are incorrect, and that it will continue to support the Palestinian people until their aspirations are realized.

Lebanese Minister: We will not allow "Hezbollah" to drag the country into suicide.

Lebanese Minister Threatens: We Will Not Allow Hezbollah to Drag the Country into Suicide

Lebanese Minister of Justice Adel Nassar confirmed on Sunday that Hezbollah will choose suicide if it refuses to hand over its weapons, and that the government will not allow it to drag the country into that fate. This came through a post on X platform, ahead of a Cabinet session to discuss the issue of restricting weapons to the state and enhancing its sovereignty over all Lebanese territory.

Nassar stated, "If Hezbollah chooses suicide by refusing to hand over its weapons, it will not be allowed to drag Lebanon and its people with it," according to the Lebanese official agency. He explained that illegal weapons have become a burden threatening internal stability and opening the door to security, economic, and diplomatic disasters for which all Lebanese bear responsibility.

Earlier, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced that the Cabinet will discuss during its next session the issue of asserting the state's sovereignty over its entire territory, including disarming Hezbollah and restricting weapons to the state. For his part, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem confirmed that the party will not hand over its weapons for the sake of Israel, pointing out that the priority now is reconstruction and stopping the aggression.

On July 4, Qassem stated that those who demand the resistance to hand over its weapons should first demand the departure of the Israeli occupation, considering that criticism should be directed at the occupation and not the resistance. President Joseph Aoun also revealed that the United States has made proposals regarding the exclusivity of weapons, clarifying that the amendments made will be presented to the Cabinet soon, including stopping Israeli attacks, the withdrawal of occupying forces, and asserting the state's authority over all territories, including the weapons of all armed forces.

In a related context, the commander of the Lebanese army confirmed that the non-withdrawal of Israeli forces from the south is the only obstacle to completing the deployment of Lebanese units, amid ongoing escalation in southern Lebanon where Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since late November 2024. Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression in October 2023, which developed into a wide war, more than 4,000 have been killed and 17,000 injured.

On November 27, 2024, a ceasefire agreement between Hezbollah and Israel came into effect, but Israel violated it more than 3,000 times, resulting in 262 deaths and 563 injuries. Despite this, Israel carried out a partial withdrawal from southern Lebanon, while continuing to occupy five hills it seized during the last war.

Death of a Palestinian prisoner in the Israeli Megiddo prison

Death of a Palestinian prisoner in Israeli Megiddo prison sparks Palestinian outrage

Two Palestinian institutions announced on Sunday the death of a prisoner from the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank in Israeli Megiddo prison, which sparked a wave of anger and condemnation in Palestinian circles. The Palestinian Prisoners' Club and the Palestinian Authority's Commission of Detainees' Affairs confirmed in a joint statement that the administrative detainee Ahmad Saeed Saleh Tazazaa, 20 years old, was martyred inside the prison.

The General Authority for Civil Affairs, the official Palestinian body responsible for communication with the Israeli side, clarified that the information it received indicates that the martyr had been detained since May 6 of last year, without precise details available regarding the circumstances of his death. The statement mentioned that Ahmad Tazazaa was held under administrative detention, a decision that allows for the detention of Palestinians without formal charges, usually lasting for six months and subject to extension, during which the detainee is prohibited from accessing the secret files presented to the court.

Hidden agendas.. How does Washington exploit aid in Gaza to achieve its goals?

Hidden Goals of Washington Through Gaza Aid: Political and Humanitarian Exploitation

Widespread accusations have emerged regarding the United States' exploitation of humanitarian aid provided to the Gaza Strip, as the underlying goals behind these initiatives are multiple, despite the official announcement of a desire to alleviate the suffering of the population. On the ground, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an American company backed by Israel, emerged, established last February and began its work in May, claiming to aim at reducing hunger; however, its distribution centers have turned into death traps, according to testimonies from Israeli soldiers and Hebrew media.

A report by Yedioth Ahronoth revealed that the distribution centers managed by the foundation have become a site for killing Palestinians, increasing anger towards its operational mechanism. In an attempt to contain the criticisms, the U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, visited a distribution center in Rafah and briefed President Donald Trump on his assessment of the situation. However, doubts surround the neutrality of the foundation, especially with the ambiguity of its funding sources and the background of its executive director, John Moore, a former advisor to Trump, during whose tenure the number of casualties rose and the dignity of aid seekers was violated.

In the context of international movements, 170 relief organizations called for the closure of the foundation, and 92 Democratic members of the House of Representatives urged the State Department to investigate its ownership and operational mechanisms, pointing out that it receives funding from Israel. France, through its foreign minister, described the foundation's system as disgraceful, while Palestinian resistance factions considered the distribution of aid through it an insult to humanity and an implementation of Israeli plans aimed at eliminating the role of international organizations, especially UNRWA, which has the expertise and resources necessary for effective aid distribution.

Conversely, Palestinian factions believe that these institutions are subjected to a conspiracy aimed at eliminating the true humanitarian role, especially after Israel closed all crossings with the Gaza Strip, prompting the search for alternatives in coordination with the United States. Washington attempted through the failed floating Gaza port project and also through dropping aerial aid, but those attempts were ridiculed, as some aid fell in combat areas and resulted in the deaths of Palestinians.

In the end, it becomes clear that the true aim of U.S. intervention is to eliminate the humanitarian role of the United Nations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and to give Israel free rein to use starvation as a means of pressure on Palestinians, either through extermination or displacement, reflecting a premeditated intention to exploit aid for political and security purposes at the expense of the suffering of civilian populations.

Netanyahu pleads with the Red Cross to secure food and medical treatment for Israeli detainees in Gaza.

Netanyahu Calls on the Red Cross to Provide Food and Medical Care for Detainees in Gaza

In a new step within the humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has requested the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide food and medical treatment for detainees in the region, amid increasing international demands to stop the suffering of civilians and to implement a ceasefire.

A statement issued by Netanyahu's office indicated that he contacted Julian Larison, head of the committee's mission in Israel and the Palestinian territories, and directly requested him to provide food supplies and urgent healthcare for the detainees, in an attempt to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

This request comes amid growing pressure on Netanyahu's government from the international community, which is calling for an end to the aggression against Gaza and for humanitarian aid to be allowed, as the living conditions for civilians in the region continue to deteriorate.

The region is witnessing an increase in international calls to end the humanitarian crisis, with ongoing military escalation leading to a significant deterioration in humanitarian conditions, and a rise in the number of detainees and civilian casualties.

Dukas Criticizes the Israeli Ambassador and Denounces the Focus on Anti-Semitic Graffiti

Harris Dukas, the Mayor of Athens, sharply criticized the Israeli ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, after he accused local authorities of failing to remove graffiti deemed anti-Semitic and offensive to Israeli tourists. This came in a post on X, where he affirmed that city authorities reject violence and discrimination in all its forms, adding that "we do not accept lessons in democracy from those who kill civilians."

In response to the Israeli ambassador's statements reported by the newspaper "Kathimerini," in which he accused the Municipality of Athens of not making enough effort to protect the city from organized groups writing anti-Semitic slogans, Dukas pointed out that most of the graffiti he referred to had already been removed, and that the focus on this graffiti comes at a time when unprecedented genocide is being committed against Palestinians in Gaza. He emphasized that the priority should be holding accountable those who commit major crimes against humanity, not just focusing on wall drawings.

Athens has witnessed ongoing protests since the beginning of the Israeli war on Gaza, organized by activists and leftists to denounce the bombing and military aggression against the sector, and protests have also erupted in some Greek islands in objection to the arrival of cruise ships carrying Israelis. Dukas noted that the number of Israelis obtaining the "golden visa" for investment in Greece has increased by more than 90% over the past year, amid a rise in the number of tourists coming from Israel since the outbreak of the war on Gaza.

In the context of international relations, the Greek government finds itself in a sensitive position, as it maintains its historical relations with Arab countries while working to strengthen its partnerships with Israel in defense and energy sectors, despite the increasing voices in the West announcing their intention to recognize the Palestinian state, reflecting the complexity of the political landscape in the region.

Assange Joins Massive March in Support of Palestinians in Sydney

Tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters participated in a massive march in Sydney, Australia, where they closed the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Among the participants was WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who returned to Australia last year after being released from a British prison under strict security measures.

Assange did not address the crowd or speak to the media, but he was seen walking alongside former Australian Foreign Minister Bob Carr, who previously served as Premier of New South Wales, while being surrounded by family members. Protesters raised signs bearing the names of thousands of Palestinian children who have been martyred in Gaza since the outbreak of the Israeli war in October 2023, amidst chants like "Ceasefire now" and "Freedom for Palestine."

New South Wales Police indicated that they deployed hundreds of security personnel throughout Sydney to ensure the march proceeded peacefully, despite the strong winds and rain accompanying the event. Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi described the march as "historic," calling for "the harshest sanctions on Israel," accusing its forces of committing "massacres" against the people of Gaza.

Faruqi criticized New South Wales Premier Chris Minns, who opposed the organization of the march, urging for a firmer stance on the Palestinian issue. Labor MP Ed Husic also called on his governing party, led by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, to recognize the State of Palestine, emphasizing the importance of supporting Palestinian rights in the international community.

Report highlights Israel's arrest of more than 18,000 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 2023

A joint Palestinian report released on Sunday revealed that Israeli occupation forces have arrested approximately 18,500 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank since the onset of the aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. This report comes from the Palestinian Authority for Prisoners and Released Prisoners, the Palestinian Prison Club, and the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association.

The report indicated that Israeli army forces carried out extensive arrest operations during their aggression in the West Bank, which included the arrest of those who remained detained, in addition to those who were later released, according to the agency's correspondent. It clarified that the number of prisoners in occupation jails reached about 10,800 prisoners by the beginning of July, including 49 women and 450 children, which is the highest number since the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000.

The report also noted an increase in the number of arrests among women to about 570, noting that these figures do not include women detained from the Gaza Strip, which is estimated to be in the dozens. It added that the number of arrests among children in the West Bank reached at least 1,500 cases, while more than 194 journalists have been documented as arrested, with 49 of them still in detention to date.

The death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza rises to more than 60,000

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the toll of Palestinian dead due to the continuous Israeli operations since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, has exceeded 60,839 dead, in addition to more than 149,588 injuries. The ministry clarified that the number of deaths in the past 24 hours reached 119 martyrs, with 866 new injuries.

The ministry indicated that the toll of victims since the resumption of Israeli aggression on March 18, 2023, has reached 9,350 dead and 37,547 injuries so far. It also confirmed that the judicial committee responsible for following up on the files of notifications and missing persons recently added data for 290 dead to the overall statistics, as part of its efforts to document the victims.

In a related context, the ministry reported that the number of victims among those waiting for humanitarian aid since May 27, 2023, has reached 1,487 dead and 10,578 injuries, as hospitals received 65 dead and more than 511 injuries from these waiters in the past 24 hours. The areas designated for distributing aid are subjected daily to gunfire from Israeli forces, leaving civilians caught between dying of hunger or bullets, according to a statement from the government media office in Gaza.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces, supported by the United States, are committing genocide in the sector that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop the aggression. This aggression leaves hundreds of thousands displaced, in addition to hundreds missing, and an increasing number of bodies that have not yet been identified, as well as famine that has claimed the lives of many innocents, with the majority of the victims being children and women.

A humanitarian message from air and land: the UAE and Jordan carry out a new air drop and continue to send aid to Gaza.

In a scene that embodies active Arab solidarity and organized humanitarian work, the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan carried out a new joint air drop operation on Wednesday to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as the pace of the humanitarian disaster within the besieged enclave accelerates.

The operation was part of a precise coordination between the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the UAE Air Force, using two C-130 aircraft, in collaboration with the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization. A total of 16 tons of food supplies and baby formula were dropped in various areas of Gaza, bringing the total amount of aid airdropped in recent days to approximately 73 tons.

These operations reflect a part of the qualitative and exceptional efforts made by the UAE and Jordan to support the resilience of the Palestinians, amid the ongoing suffocating blockade and the complete collapse of the food and medical supply system, making this aid a lifeline for the besieged civilians.

According to official figures, the Jordanian Armed Forces have conducted 130 air drop operations to date, alongside 270 other operations carried out with the participation of Arab and foreign countries, as part of an integrative initiative aimed at delivering aid to those in need despite the complexities of the field situation.

In parallel with the air support, the UAE continued its ground efforts, with 58 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip today through various land crossings, carrying food, medical, and relief supplies as part of a comprehensive support plan.

This step is part of an ongoing Emirati project to extend water lines from desalination plants, aimed at alleviating the water crisis faced by residents amid widespread destruction of infrastructure and the failure of most essential services.

This joint Emirati-Jordanian initiative not only provides assistance but also sends a clear message that effective solidarity does not require slogans, but rather tangible actions and urgent field responses, at a time when shocking figures from Gaza race against time.

The number of livelihood dead in Gaza rises to 1,487

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that the toll of livelihood victims has risen to 1,487 dead, in addition to more than 10,578 injuries in the past hours. The ministry clarified that the number of martyrs from livelihood has increased by 65 martyrs in the last 24 hours, while 511 new injuries were recorded.

Data indicates that the total number of dead in the sector since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on October 7, 2023, has reached 60,839 dead, with 149,588 injuries recorded, amid the inability of ambulance and civil defense crews to reach many areas that remain under rubble and in the streets.

In a related context, the report indicated that the toll of martyrs since March 18, 2025, until today has reached 9,350 dead, with an increase in the number of injuries to 37,547 cases. The ministry confirmed that many victims are still under the rubble, and that rescue efforts face significant difficulties due to the ongoing aggression and siege.

Regarding livelihood martyrs, the report clarified that 65 dead and 511 new injuries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of livelihood victims to 1,487, with more than 10,578 injuries. These figures come amid the deterioration of humanitarian conditions and the severe suffering experienced by the residents of the sector.

The current situation reflects the depth of the humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians in Gaza, with the ongoing Israeli aggression exacerbating the suffering of the residents and threatening the lives of thousands of civilians, especially in light of the shortage of available medical and humanitarian resources.

The volume of aid that has reached Gaza since Israel announced the easing of restrictions is very small.

While aid has begun to gradually enter the besieged Gaza Strip, nearly all humanitarian agencies say it is insufficient to prevent a "widespread famine that is significantly increasing death tolls."

Last Sunday (27/7/2025), Israeli occupation authorities announced that they would halt military activities in some areas to allow more aid to enter Gaza, following international outrage over the spread of famine and deaths resulting from malnutrition caused by the Israeli military assault and restrictions on aid.

However, humanitarian organizations say that the amount of aid that has entered the sector is inadequate, and without more food, an increasing number of Palestinians will die of hunger, especially children.

NBC News examined the amount of aid that has entered Gaza during the week since Israel announced the new system, and how it meets the needs of citizens.

Counting the Aid

Humanitarian aid is currently entering Gaza through three methods: aerial drops, distribution by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) supported by the United States and Israel, and by the United Nations and other relief organizations using "humanitarian corridors" established by the Israeli army last week.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which began distributing aid in the sector in late May, has faced widespread condemnation due to the deaths of hundreds of people, often at the hands of Israeli soldiers, near its aid sites, and due to its limited distribution. Last Sunday, GHF distributed about one million meals, and at least 1.2 million more meals from Monday to Wednesday, and 1.3 million meals on Thursday. GHF apparently did not publish the number of meals distributed on Friday, but announced on Saturday that it had distributed at least 1.7 million meals.

In a country with a population of about two million, this averages to about half a meal to just under a full meal per person per day.

According to the station, the Israeli military branch responsible for overseeing the entry of aid into Gaza, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (GOCAT), allowed approximately 230 trucks to enter Gaza daily from last Sunday to Thursday, according to data published online. It states that these trucks are in addition to "the hundreds" already in the sector waiting to be received by relief organizations, but it did not disclose the exact number. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories did not respond to a request for more information about the total number of trucks waiting to be received.

According to data from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, at least 920 aid trucks were collected and distributed that were allowed to enter the sector by the United Nations and other humanitarian organizations from last Sunday to Thursday. Before the start of the Israeli assault on Gaza, about 500 trucks loaded with aid entered Gaza daily, according to the British Red Cross and other organizations. The chart below illustrates how the amount of aid entering Gaza significantly increased during the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, before stopping during the Israeli blockade, with only minimal amounts entering in the months following its lifting.

Monthly Aid Entering Gaza

The months following Israel's lifting of its comprehensive blockade on aid, which lasted nearly three months, saw some of the lowest levels since the beginning of the war.

When asked by NBC about the number of trucks allowed to enter Gaza that were collected by humanitarian organizations on Friday and Saturday, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories did not respond immediately.

Although the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories published information about the trucks that entered Gaza and were collected by relief organizations on its social media pages over the past week, it has not updated its electronic dashboard related to aid entering Gaza since Monday, despite international focus on this issue.

According to the World Food Program, only about two-thirds of the food quantity requested by the UN agency from the Israeli authorities has been approved for entry into Gaza as of Thursday since the Israeli army began tactical ceasefire periods.

How Did Israeli Restrictions Cause the Hunger Crisis?

The hunger crisis in Gaza significantly worsened in March after Israel imposed a blockade preventing aid from entering Gaza (on March 2, 2025), amid a ceasefire with Hamas (which Israel violated on March 18, 2025).

Israel lifted the suffocating blockade in May, but only allowed limited aid to enter the sector, most of which was distributed by

Hidden goals behind demonizing UNRWA and the emergence of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression, Gaza has witnessed an escalation in systematic attacks against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), as Israel, supported by Washington, launched a wide-ranging smear campaign against the agency, claiming the involvement of some of its employees in previous attacks, leading to investigations and the dismissal of some staff, with confirmation that the majority of the accusations were baseless.

In March, as the ceasefire deteriorated, discussions began about the necessity of establishing a new mechanism for delivering aid, amid Israeli measures preventing food and medical supplies from reaching the sector. On May 26, the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" was announced, which has a soft name but is backed by a network of former U.S. officials in defense and intelligence, in coordination with Israel, with the aim of creating a military security model to control aid and turn it into tools of killing and displacement.

Under the banner of humanitarian aid, the foundation works to implement hidden objectives related to imposing military and security control, with the death toll resulting from its policies reaching 175 Palestinians, including 93 children, according to reports. Part of the funding is used to pay the salaries of security and military contractors responsible for securing aid distribution centers, under the direct supervision of the Israeli army, according to journalistic investigations.

In June and July, hundreds of Palestinians were martyred while trying to reach the foundation's centers, and a former American soldier working within the foundation's security team accused his Israeli and American colleagues of deliberately targeting civilians. The UNRWA commissioner confirmed that the foundation's plan is designed for military, not humanitarian, purposes, while Palestinian and international organizations refused to cooperate with it, pointing to the imposition of strict security oversight and its use as a tool for the soft and dangerous displacement of Palestinians.

In a related context, the foundation's executive director, Jake Wood, resigned in June, expressing his belief that the foundation could not fulfill its mission without compromising the principles of neutrality and integrity, raising questions about its true objectives. As accusations mounted, the international system in Gaza was dismantled and replaced by a private American-Israeli company involved in corruption and the blood of Palestinians, according to Western reports.

Conflicts within the occupation leadership are escalating amid the depletion of forces and the refusal to set war objectives.

Conflicts within the Occupation Leadership Escalate Amidst Troop Exhaustion and Refusal to Define War Objectives

Criticism is escalating within the military institution of the Israeli occupation regarding the management of the war in the Gaza Strip, with increasing signs of deep exhaustion among the troops and a widening gap between the army leadership and the political government. Hebrew media reports indicated that the Chief of Staff of the occupation army, Eyal Zamir, is seriously considering resigning due to disagreements with the political level over the course of military operations.

The newspaper "Maariv" quoted reserve officers stating that "the military effort has been exhausted," and that the priority should now be "to rescue the hostages," while one of them pointed out that "military pressure in Gaza will not achieve substantial changes," clarifying that Hamas "has extracted heavy costs from the army through guerrilla warfare that could last for years."

The military correspondent for the newspaper, Avi Ashkenazi, revealed that Zamir has been demanding for days to hold a session to discuss plans for continuing the fighting in Gaza, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refuses to allow this session to take place, which has increased frustration among the ranks of the army. Ashkenazi confirmed that senior military sources have begun to publicly question the objectives of the war in the absence of a clear political or military horizon, with Zamir calling for the definition of a "target plan" after the "Gideon" campaign, but Netanyahu rejected that as well.

According to Channel 13, Zamir has devised a plan for regular units to engage in "three months of fighting followed by a month of rest," due to the significant fatigue experienced by the troops. The occupation army radio clarified that the erosion has not been limited to reserve forces, but has also affected the regular army, and that the new plan is "necessary" but conditional on not assigning the army the task of "fully occupying the Gaza Strip," a step opposed by the army which prefers instead to "encircle areas where Hamas fighters are located and control the governing areas."

"Maariv" quoted political sources stating that extending the fighting in Gaza will have long-term repercussions on the units and soldiers, warning of massive exhaustion among the troops on the front lines. Meanwhile, Israeli journalist Ben Caspit considered that "Israel has shifted from being a hunter to a hunted," criticizing the focus of the upcoming government session on "threats against the Prime Minister and his family" instead of "the hostages held in the tunnels of Gaza," describing the scene as "a nightmare and a farce at the same time."

The "Recognition Awards Hamas Lie"

Gershon Baskin

August 2, 2025

Recognition of the State of Palestine by countries that have supported the two-states solution for years but only recognized one of them is not a reward for Hamas or for terrorism. It is a correction of a policy of duplicity and places action where only (empty) words were uttered until now. Whoever makes that claim the recognition of the State of Palestine rewards Hamas is clearly not interested in Israeli-Palestinian peace. It is not surprising that this claim is being made by right-wing Israelis, including illegal settlers, and right wing politicians from around the world.

Let’s set the record straight - Hamas have never supported the two-states solution. Hamas was officially launched after Yasser Arafat declared Independence of the State of Palestine and recognized Israel on November 15, 1988. Hamas opposed then any kind of recognition of Israel as it does until today. Recognition of the State of Palestine is an affirmation that the horrific war in Gaza must be the last Israeli-Palestinian war and that from the traumas and horrors of the past 22 months, peace must emerge.

There are 7 million Israeli Jews and 7 million Palestinian Arabs living on the land of Israel/Palestine between the River and the Sea. They have been fighting, dying, willing to kill for a territorial expression of their identity. The way to resolve the conflict and make peace is for both peoples to have the right to self-determination and the moral and historic obligation of the international community is to recognize the national rights of both peoples on the Land. If 192 Member States of the United Nations recognize the State of Palestine, but Israel does not, the occupation and the conflict will continue. But that does not relieve the Member States of the UN from its responsibility and obligation to recognize both states now: the State of Israel and the State of Palestine.

If you believe in Israeli-Palestinian peace then you understand that only the two-states solution can resolve the conflict. So recognition of the State of Palestine now is a recognition and support to those who want to live in peace in Israel and Palestine.

From the River to the Sea On Two States We Agree!

The rise in suicide cases among Israeli soldiers is linked to the challenges of the war in Gaza.

The Rise in Israeli Soldier Suicides Linked to Challenges of the War in Gaza

A recent investigation by the Israeli army revealed that the majority of suicides among soldiers are directly linked to the psychological challenges they face during the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, where many soldiers suffer from severe mental and physical exhaustion.

According to reports, the army recorded 16 suicide cases since the beginning of the year, including four cases in July alone, raising concerns about the spread of the phenomenon among the armed forces, especially with the increasing number of soldiers committing suicide over the past two years compared to previous periods.

In a related context, Israeli media reported an unofficial tally indicating that suicide cases have reached at least 18 this year, with a predominance of suicides among reserve forces in active service, reflecting significant psychological pressure on the soldiers.

As suicide cases continue both in and out of the camps, the Israeli army radio reported from sources that psychological exhaustion is increasing among soldiers due to the ongoing military operations in Gaza, prompting leadership to consider plans for granting leaves and alleviating pressure on officers and soldiers.

In a related context, officials noted that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir is working on a plan for long-term leaves aimed at reducing psychological pressures; however, the Israeli army does not officially recognize that soldiers who commit suicide are considered war casualties, reflecting complexities in addressing the phenomenon from an official standpoint.

Nine Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation fire near relief centers in northern Rafah.

Martyrdom of Nine Palestinians by Israeli Occupation Forces Near Relief Centers in Northern Rafah

Palestinian medical sources announced the martyrdom of nine Palestinian citizens and injuries to others due to the Israeli occupation forces opening fire on a group of civilians near humanitarian aid centers in northern Rafah, Gaza Strip.

The sources clarified that the occupation forces directly targeted a group of Palestinians who were present near the relief centers, leading to these significant human losses among unarmed civilians.

The area is experiencing a state of high tension, as Israeli assaults on residential areas and humanitarian centers continue, in a new escalation that threatens the lives of civilian residents and increases the suffering of the people in the sector.

Palestinians, through officials and activists, condemned these assaults, which are considered a serious escalation reflecting the occupation's intention to deliberately target the lives of citizens, amid calls to confront the escalation and for the international community to take responsibility to stop these violations.

In a related context, humanitarian institutions confirmed that the targeting of civilian areas by the occupation forces exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in the sector, where residents suffer from a lack of basic services and rising injury rates among children and women.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has deteriorated with the rising number of casualties and the worsening famine.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza deteriorates as casualty numbers rise and famine worsens

Ted Chaiban, UNICEF's Deputy Executive Director, reported that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is worsening, with data indicating that one in three people in the area spends entire days without food, a serious indicator of the deteriorating humanitarian condition in the region.

In a related context, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza confirmed that hospitals recorded seven deaths in the past twenty-four hours due to starvation policies and malnutrition, including one child, amid the ongoing Israeli escalation against the besieged strip.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll from famine has risen to 169 people, including 93 children, as the humanitarian crisis continues to worsen and living conditions for the population suffering from severe food and healthcare shortages deteriorate.

In another development, the government media office in Gaza indicated that the number of aid trucks that entered the strip on Saturday did not exceed 36 trucks, confirming that most of them were looted and stolen due to the security chaos created by the Israeli occupation, reflecting a serious escalation of the humanitarian crisis.

Aside from the efforts of the United Nations and international organizations, Israel has begun since May 27 to implement a plan for distributing aid through the Gaza Humanitarian Relief Foundation, an entity supported by Israel and the United States, but rejected internationally, as Palestinians believe that this mechanism aims to gather the population and force them into displacement, paving the way for the reoccupation of Gaza.

In previous statistics, the Ministry of Health reported that the death toll of Palestinians awaiting aid reached 1,422 martyrs and more than 10,000 injured since the beginning of the operation, with ongoing killings and destruction supported by the United States since October 2023, resulting in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons and waves of famine that have claimed many lives.

The escalation of the Israeli occupation targets humanitarian facilities and the cities of Gaza

The Israeli occupation army continues its military escalation on the Gaza Strip, having recently targeted the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent in Khan Younis, resulting in the martyrdom of one of the workers at the headquarters and igniting a fire inside. It also targeted the first floor of the administrative building in the Hope City, resulting in one death and several injuries, amid ongoing heavy bombardment on various areas of the sector.

The correspondent for Al-Arabiya reported that the death toll from these attacks has reached two martyrs, in addition to several children injured due to shelling from drones on the Tunnel Street in Gaza. He confirmed that the bombardment focused on multiple areas, including the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood and the Tuffah neighborhood, with continued targeting of homes and infrastructure, leading to the destruction of many houses and exacerbating the suffering of the residents.

In this context, the media official at the Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza, Raed Al-Nimsa, stated that medical and relief teams continue to provide their services despite the repeated targeting of their headquarters and personnel, confirming that 51 members of the teams have been martyred since the onset of the aggression, and 35 others have been arrested, calling on the international community to hold the occupation accountable for its crimes and to secure the operations of the Red Crescent from threats and obstacles.

Al-Nimsa pointed out that the Red Crescent continues to document all Israeli attacks and submits reports to the Security Council and international bodies, holding the occupation responsible for disrupting the work of humanitarian institutions, despite the international community's demands not to target the Red Crescent personnel, which are continuously ignored.

In Khan Younis, the occupation targeted a shelter center in the Hope neighborhood, resulting in the martyrdom of two martyrs and several others with serious injuries, according to our correspondent in Deir al-Balah, Abdullah Muqaddad. The occupation has also intensified its bombardment and destruction of homes in the western areas of the city, while sirens sounded in the Gaza envelope and east of Gaza City, as Israeli aircraft launched raids on the Tuffah neighborhood and the Nuseirat and Al-Bureij camps.

In contrast, sirens were activated near the Third Eye area east of the sector, where Israeli sources reported that the Iron Dome system intercepted a missile launched from the southern sector towards the cities of the Gaza envelope, while the Israeli army announced that it had likely intercepted another missile launched from the same area, in an attempt to mitigate the missile attacks on the surrounding settlements.

"The Red Crescent" announces the death of one of its employees in an Israeli bombardment that targeted its headquarters in Gaza.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced today, Sunday, the death of one of its employees and the injury of three others in an Israeli bombardment that targeted its headquarters in the city of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. The organization issued a statement via X platform, stating that the occupation forces targeted the building, leading to a fire on the first floor and the destruction of parts of the building. A video clip published by the organization showed moments of the attack, with flames raging and debris scattered around the building.

The organization clarified that the incident resulted in the martyrdom of one of its employees and injuries to others, while rescue teams continued to work to extinguish the fires and provide first aid to the wounded. It pointed out that the fire broke out mainly on the first floor of the building, and that the flames were burning intensely, reflecting the extent of the destruction caused by the attack.

This attack came two days after the visit of U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to a distribution center for aid in Gaza, which is supported by the United States, as part of his efforts to facilitate the entry of food supplies into the besieged and devastated sector. Local sources confirmed that the Israeli bombardment resulted in a number of casualties, as the civil defense in Gaza announced that at least 32 Palestinians had died in ongoing airstrikes and bombardments in various areas of the sector, including 14 killed by Israeli army fire near aid distribution centers managed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

In a related context, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reported that eight Red Crescent paramedics, six civil defense personnel, and one employee from UNRWA were killed in Israeli attacks in southern Gaza during last March, indicating the continued targeting of medical and civilian personnel in the sector. These events confirm the escalation of violence and destruction in Gaza, amid the deterioration of humanitarian conditions and the increasing suffering of the civilian population.

Strategic Shift in Gaza Negotiations: A Comprehensive Approach to Ending the War and Freeing the Hostages

Strategic Shift in Gaza Negotiations: A Comprehensive Approach to End the War and Free the Hostages

The Gaza negotiations have witnessed a significant shift in U.S. strategy, as informed sources announced that President Donald Trump's administration has adopted a new policy demanding a comprehensive agreement that includes all hostages in exchange for ending the war, with key conditions including the disarmament of Hamas. This shift comes after the failure of previous partial negotiations, which resulted in the release of only 33 hostages before halting with the escalation of the occupation's military operations last March.

In a two-hour meeting in Tel Aviv, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff informed the families of the Israeli hostages that President Trump seeks a fundamental change in the negotiation approach, emphasizing that the previous strategy did not yield tangible results and that the current administration is adopting an "all or nothing" policy. He noted that the new plan holds a glimmer of hope, despite the lack of details revealed yet, considering that gradual negotiations have exhausted their purposes.

These statements come at a time of prolonged stagnation in the negotiation process, amid increasing pressure from the families of the hostages and a decline in public confidence in the effectiveness of partial deals. Earlier, the occupying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had informed the families of the hostages that the occupation continues its efforts to bring back all hostages from Gaza, affirming that the efforts have not ceased.

Sources indicate that the Trump administration preferred from the beginning to reach a comprehensive agreement, but initially supported the interim plan of the occupying Prime Minister, taking into account the interests of the occupation. With the escalation of pressures, Washington decided to fundamentally reconsider the course of negotiations, focusing on reaching a comprehensive solution that meets the objectives of both parties and puts an end to the current crisis.

New York Declaration, Ceasefire, and Recognition of the State of Palestine

Sari Al-Qudwa

Sari Al-Qudwa

The world has witnessed an unprecedented international consensus on the outcomes of the New York Conference for a two-state solution and the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, and the implementation of the two-state solution, which was endorsed by the joint presidency of Saudi Arabia and France for the international conference, and the heads of working groups. At the forefront of all this is enabling the State of Palestine to exercise its jurisdiction over the Gaza Strip. The New York Declaration represents a historic turning point for the recognition of the State of Palestine and the respect for the rights of the Palestinian people, leading to peace, security, and stability, and ending the aggression of the Israeli occupation.

We highly appreciate the efforts of countries and their commitment to taking concrete, time-bound, irreversible steps as soon as possible to realize an independent, sovereign, and viable State of Palestine and to provide political and economic support for it, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the Madrid references, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative, based on ending the occupation, resolving all outstanding issues and final status issues, ending all claims, achieving a just and lasting peace, and ensuring security and sovereignty for all countries in the region.

Within the international approach to establish mechanisms for action after the day following the war, the conference outcomes emphasized the importance of enabling the State of Palestine to exercise its political and legal jurisdiction over all the territory of the State of Palestine, including the Gaza Strip. The participating countries in the New York Conference praised the Palestinian state, emphasizing the necessity of continuing to recognize the State of Palestine as a contribution to peace and in preserving the only solution, the two-state solution.

The continued Israeli occupation and aggression against civilians, especially in Gaza, poses a threat to regional and international stability, and the international community must stop this injustice and hold the perpetrators of violations accountable under international law. The courageous positions and outcomes of the New York Conference come at an important historical moment. In this context, it is essential for countries that have not recognized the State of Palestine to do so, in order to give hope for a genuine international will seeking to end the occupation and achieve peace based on international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and to realize an independent State of Palestine along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, so that the region may enjoy security, peace, and prosperity.

The international community must work seriously, and it is necessary for the countries of the world to bear their responsibilities in stopping the aggression against the Palestinian people, delivering aid to the Gaza Strip, preventing famine, establishing a ceasefire throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, preventing forced displacement, and the importance of continuing international campaigns to mobilize political and financial support for the Government of the State of Palestine to fulfill its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip and throughout the occupied Palestinian territories, and to support the Arab-Islamic plan for recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

There is no doubt that the New York Declaration and its accompanying outcomes from the work of the eight working committees constitute an effective practical plan at the political, economic, legal, and security levels. Its serious implementation within a clear timeline will support the foundations of peace, security, and stability in the Middle East. The countries participating in the conference and all countries must hasten to join the declaration as it represents the practical tool for building international momentum to implement the two-state solution and build a better future through taking practical and effective steps to transform speeches and statements into actions and commitments from countries, and to turn actions into justice applied to the rights of the Palestinian people, providing strong international guarantees decisive towards ending the Arab-Israeli conflict and working to end the occupation and achieve just and comprehensive peace.

Bones from Gaza

Isa Qaraqe

Isa Qaraqe

Opinion Writer

A man from Gaza,

a dry frame, bones clattering against each other as if asking:

"Am I alive? Or has death forgotten to take me?"‪.

Eyes wide open…

not to life, but to a bitter astonishment,

the astonishment of the hungry when they find not even death to satisfy them.

It is not clear:

Is this gaze from hunger?

Or from silent oppression like our graves?

Or from a fear suspended between the sky and the ceiling?

Or from a disappointment deeper than the siege?

Disappointment with the world, with justice,

with everything you call "humanity."

The man does not cry...

Because tears are a luxury, and water is scarce,

and because crying in Gaza is a luxury only the living can afford.

Oh world:

Do you hear? Do you feel?

This one collapsing before us was not a beggar,

he was a father, he was a teacher, he was a human being,

but you ignited genocide,

you closed the crossings,

you left him to become a skeleton stripped of everything but dignity,

Oh world,

do you understand what it means for bones to become a banner of protest?

For the gaze of the hungry to be more eloquent than all your parliaments?

For disappointment to become a face that does not close its eyes,

even after death?

A man from Gaza…

did not die from a shell,

nor from lack of food,

but from an excess of lies,

from a global silence more impactful than all explosions,

a skeleton from Gaza, not only falling today from hunger,

but from betrayal.

If I returned alive,

I would not demand food,

but one question:

Why does all this death need permission to be condemned?

And why do we alone need to die so much?

For us to be called human,

My bony body is Gaza now,

I died of hunger, but not because food was absent,

but because you closed the roads,

and turned the siege into a trade,

and invested death in the economy of extermination,

hunger in Gaza has become a heavy industry,

The American sanctions are a preemptive step to obstruct the recognition of the Palestinian state.

Dr. Dalal Arikat: These sanctions are not new but a repetition of usual pressure tactics used by Washington to subjugate the Palestinian political path to its dictates.

Dr. Hussein Al-Daik: The sanctions come within the framework of employing U.S. domestic law as a political tool for pressure at a sensitive time witnessing a broad international shift towards recognizing the State of Palestine.

Nabhan Khreisha: The more pressure increases on Israel and the pace of recognition of the Palestinian state rises, the more intense the U.S. response to Palestinian movements becomes.

Dr. Irini Said: The United States seeks to undermine the European path towards recognizing the State of Palestine through unconditional support for Israel.

Dr. Raed Al-Dab'i: Washington aims to deter the PLO from continuing to internationalize the Palestinian-Israeli conflict after the failure of bilateral settlement efforts.

Oreib Al-Rantawi: The U.S. sanctions reflect its steadfast position rejecting explicit recognition of the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state.

In a move with deep political implications, the United States imposed a new package of sanctions on officials in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), at a time of extreme international sensitivity, amid a rising wave of European recognitions of the State of Palestine. This places the sanctions in a broader context of Washington's attempts to curb this international momentum and reset the Palestinian path within traditional American frameworks, even attempting to bury the two-state solution.

Writers, political analysts, specialists, and university professors confirm in separate conversations with "Y" that the sanctions go beyond mere legal or diplomatic restrictions, as they are used as a strategic pressure tool to obstruct Palestinian efforts to internationalize the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and Palestinian engagement in international judicial institutions, particularly the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice.

The writers, analysts, specialists, and university professors believe that this American escalation, coinciding with the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly, carries a clear message: there will be no international recognition of the Palestinian state without passing through the American gate.

However, analysts and specialists believe that these sanctions may stimulate further international movements supporting Palestine and highlight Washington's inability to contain the rapidly changing European and global positions regarding the rights of Palestinians and their demand for an independent state.

The Palestinian response must match the event

Dr. Dalia Arikat, a professor of diplomacy and conflict resolution at the American University of the Middle East, states that the recent U.S. sanctions imposed on the PLO and the PNA come within the context of old American policies that rely on pressure and coercive diplomacy, aimed at undermining the role of the organization and the authority as legitimate entities representing the Palestinian people in international forums.

Arikat points out that representatives of the PLO primarily obtain U.S. entry visas of the "waiver visa" type due to the classification of the organization as a "terrorist" organization in some U.S. laws, emphasizing that these sanctions are not new but a repetition of usual pressure tactics used by Washington to subjugate the Palestinian political path to its dictates.

Arikat believes that the Palestinian response should match the event by sending an official message to Ambassador Mike Huckabee, who recently visited Ramallah officially at the invitation of the PLO, to directly inform the Trump administration that the organization is the legitimate and sole partner in any upcoming peace process.

Arikat clarifies that these punitive measures contradict Washington's statements about supporting peace and demonstrate political hypocrisy by punishing the only Palestinian entity committed to international legitimacy.

A direct response to the diplomatic momentum in favor of Palestine

Arikat confirms that the sanctions came as a direct reaction to the growing diplomatic momentum in favor of Palestine, especially with the Saudi-French initiative and the increasing recognitions of the State of Palestine, described as a "diplomatic tsunami," which alarmed the U.S. administration that seeks to maintain its traditional control over the Palestinian file.

Arikat sees that the sanctions aim to diminish the role of the PLO and exclude it from international platforms like the United Nations, which effectively harms the representation of the Palestinian cause and complicates efforts to achieve peace.

Arikat proposes three steps for Palestinian confrontation: First, adherence to international legitimacy and working to strengthen the front of countries supportive of Palestine; second, smart political communication through sending official and popular messages to the United States to

International criticism of Israel has escalated, and its global image has deteriorated amid the ongoing war in Gaza.

International criticism of Israel escalates and its global image deteriorates amid the ongoing war on Gaza

International criticism of Israeli policies is escalating, especially following the continuation of the war on the Gaza Strip, where global newspapers have revealed the heavy costs Israel is paying as a result, which have largely failed to achieve its objectives, to the point that international support for it has begun to noticeably decline.

The Jerusalem Post highlighted the significant costs incurred by Israel and raised questions about its delay in withdrawing from the Gaza Strip, noting that Israel is paying a heavy price beyond imagination, with 900 soldiers killed and thousands injured, alongside an unprecedented rise in suicide cases among the army, reflecting the depth of the psychological crisis facing the Israeli military.

In an article for Yedioth Ahronoth, writer Oron Nahari stated that Israel's image before the world has significantly deteriorated, as it has become a "toxic brand," after being supported by most countries, and it has become difficult for the media to confront the negative image it portrays of starving children in Gaza, warning that Israel should have anticipated this before reaching this level of international isolation.

In the American press, writer Jackie Coles expressed the impossibility of defending Benjamin Netanyahu's policies, who is facing legal prosecution, warning that this threatens the historic American support for Israel and increases the rift in relations between the two countries, noting that Israel, which was once a symbol of global sympathy, is now responsible for horrific images from Gaza, reflecting a significant moral and political failure.

In a report by The Guardian, observers noted that Israel has closed 88% of the investigations into violations committed by its forces in Gaza, without reaching any conclusions or punishing the perpetrators, including the killing of hundreds of Palestinians who were trying to obtain food supplies, reflecting a pattern of impunity that threatens regional stability and exacerbates international tensions.

In a related context, The New York Times discussed a lawsuit filed by the families of the victims of the October 7, 2023 massacre against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), accusing it of supporting Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah, following a shift in the American stance towards the agency during Trump's presidency, which opens the door to imposing sanctions on institutions linked to it and complicates the political situation in the region.

Massacre in Gaza claims the lives of dozens of Palestinians and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis.

Al-Quds Dot Com

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip has documented the martyrdom of 62 Palestinians since dawn on Saturday, including 38 aid seekers, as a result of the ongoing Israeli escalation that is ravaging the sector. Military operations and starvation have led to the martyrdom of many civilians, while the sector suffers from limited aid entry that meets only a small part of the needs of nearly two million people.

The area has witnessed direct targeting, where five Palestinians were martyred due to Israeli shelling that targeted a residential apartment in the town of Al-Zawayda in the middle of the sector. The bodies of the martyrs were buried from Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. Ambulance teams also reported the martyrdom of three Palestinians and injuries to others near an aid center north of Rafah, while Red Crescent teams recovered the bodies of two martyrs in Jabalia and other wounded individuals.

In Khan Younis, the headquarters of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was directly targeted by Israeli shelling, resulting in the martyrdom of one employee and injuries to three others, with the building suffering significant damage and a fire igniting on the first floor. Medical sources confirmed that several aid seekers were injured by the fire of the occupation forces in the vicinity of the Zikim area, with some injuries being serious.

In the context of the humanitarian crisis, the director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex announced that hospitals in the sector recorded seven deaths within 24 hours due to hunger and malnutrition, including one child, while the number of starvation victims has risen to 169, including 93 children, amid a severe shortage of humanitarian aid. The government media office indicated that only 36 aid trucks had entered, with repeated incidents of looting and theft due to the security chaos imposed by the occupation.

The head of the Gaza NGO Network, Amjad Al-Shawa, stated that about 900,000 children are suffering from malnutrition due to the restrictions on aid imposed by the occupation. Regarding the escalation, the Israeli army announced the interception of a missile launched from the southern sector, while the Palestinian resistance fired mortar shells at gatherings of occupation forces in Khan Younis, where Al-Qassam Brigades targeted Israeli sites south of the city.

Since the beginning of the aggression on October 7, 2023, Israeli operations, supported by the United States, have resulted in the deaths of about 208,000 Palestinians, including martyrs and wounded, with more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals and an unprecedented humanitarian disaster in the sector.

Hamas denies its intention to lay down arms and describes the visit of the American envoy as a deceptive spectacle.

Hamas Denies Intention to Disarm and Describes U.S. Envoy's Visit as a Deceptive Stunt

The Hamas movement has firmly denied its readiness to disarm, asserting that resistance is a legitimate right and national duty, and that it cannot be relinquished except with the end of occupation, which aligns with international charters and norms.

The movement's statements came in response to remarks by U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, who visited Israel and the Gaza Strip, and claimed during his meeting with the families of the captives that Hamas had shown willingness to disarm, and that his country’s administration does not plan to expand the war, but to end it definitively.

Witkoff stated during his visit, which began on Thursday and included meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials, followed by a visit to the Gaza Strip and meetings with the families of the abductees, that "Hamas does not oppose reaching a deal, but on the condition that the war ends, which requires the disarmament of the movement," adding that "it's all or nothing" is the approach adopted by his administration.

In reaction to Witkoff's statements, Hamas described his visit as a play aimed at misleading public opinion, asserting that the visit does not reflect genuine intentions to reach a political solution, and that it is an attempt to impose Israeli conditions on the movement in exchange for stopping the war.

Hamas officials also indicated that Witkoff's remarks raise doubts about the possibility of reaching a comprehensive deal, clarifying that the movement does not oppose dialogue, provided that the war is completely ended, which requires lifting the siege and stopping Israeli aggression, not just disarmament.

Escalation of Violence in Berlin Against Supporters of Gaza and Widespread Arrests During Pro-Palestinian Protests

The German capital, Berlin, witnessed an escalation in the use of force by police against demonstrators supporting the Palestinian cause, as a large number of participants were arrested during protests organized on Kurfürstendamm Street near Breitscheidplatz. These protests came in condemnation of the genocide and starvation campaign being carried out by Israel against the Gaza Strip, where hundreds of supporters of the Palestinian cause gathered to demand an end to military operations and the opening of humanitarian aid.

The demonstrators raised anti-Israel slogans and banged empty pots and pans to express the hunger crisis faced by the residents of Gaza due to the blockade on humanitarian aid. Shortly after the protest began, the police asked participants to disperse, but the protesters continued their chants, and some refused to leave, sitting on the ground in protest, which led to violent intervention by security forces who dispersed them and arrested several.

In a related context, another solidarity demonstration with Palestine took place in Wittenberg Square in Berlin, where demonstrators held signs reading "Stop the genocide in Gaza," "Send food to Gaza now," and "Stop the hunger in Gaza, and bring bread." They also raised other signs accusing Israel of being "terrorist" and "child killers," demanding an end to military operations and the opening of humanitarian crossings.

During this demonstration, the police arrested at least four protesters, while the situation showed continued tension in the city. Earlier on Saturday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the death toll of civilians suffering from hunger and starvation had reached 1,422 martyrs, with more than 10,000 injured since the beginning of the aggression on May 27.

Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has been experiencing a genocide war waged by Israel with the support of the United States, involving killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and judicial orders to cease operations. This war has left more than 209,000 Palestinians dead or injured, with over 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming the lives of many innocents, especially children and women.
