After the meeting between Trump and Putin, Zelensky heads to Washington to discuss a proposal for a trilateral summit.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will travel to Washington next Monday to meet with his American counterpart Donald Trump, following the summit that brought Trump together with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to explore ways to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

During the summit in Alaska, Trump described the meeting as 'excellent' and emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive peace agreement rather than just a ceasefire. This statement reflects the new direction Trump is seeking to take to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In a phone call with Trump, Zelensky discussed 'positive signals' from the United States regarding security guarantees for Ukraine, reflecting Washington's interest in supporting Kyiv at this critical stage. Zelensky also pointed out the importance of European involvement in all stages related to security issues.

After the call, European leaders issued a statement welcoming Trump's efforts to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine. The statement emphasized the need for strong security guarantees for Ukraine, stressing that Russia cannot oppose Ukraine's aspirations to join the European Union and NATO.

The European statement also noted that European leaders will continue to tighten sanctions on Russia until peace is achieved. This reflects a unified European stance in supporting Ukraine and confronting Russian aggression.

Although the summit in Alaska did not result in an agreement to end the war, Trump and Putin described the talks as productive. This raises questions about the possibility of making real progress in the upcoming negotiations.

Zelensky's visit to Washington is considered an important step in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, especially in light of the security challenges facing Ukraine. Zelensky is looking for greater support from Washington in facing Russian threats.

In conclusion, all eyes remain on the potential outcomes of the trilateral summit between Trump, Zelensky, and Putin, which could determine the fate of relations among the three countries and impact the future of security in the region.

Haaretz: Smotrich is right and the new settlement plan will bury the Palestinian state.

Sources reported that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich confirmed that the new settlement plan will eliminate the idea of a Palestinian state, as he considered that this reality will finally bury the idea of a Palestinian state, because there will be nothing to recognize. These statements come at a time when the Israeli government is preparing to grant final approval for the "E1" project, which is part of a large-scale settlement plan.

The "E1" plan is seen as a death sentence for any possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state, as it involves the construction of 3,412 housing units in a sensitive area between East Jerusalem and the Ma'ale Adumim settlement. This step will consume the last vital spaces in the heart of the West Bank, isolating three major Palestinian cities: Ramallah, East Jerusalem, and Bethlehem.

While the vast majority of countries around the world continue to affirm their commitment to a two-state solution, the Israeli government is moving in a direction that contradicts this trend. This raises concerns that the new settlement plan will enhance Israel's isolation and turn it into a pariah state in the international community.

Analyses indicate that the new plan is merely part of a larger project aimed at officially annexing the West Bank to the occupying state, or at least annexing Area C, which is under full Israeli control. These policies aim to impose new realities on the ground that diminish the Palestinian presence and push it out of these areas.

These plans are accompanied by daily assaults carried out by settlers against Palestinian farmers, in addition to transforming the West Bank into hundreds of isolated enclaves. These enclaves are separated by iron gates that the army can close at any moment, significantly restricting freedom of movement.

Since the start of the war in Gaza, the West Bank has witnessed settlers seizing vast areas of land under the pretext of converting them into pastures for their livestock. These policies constitute an integrated strategy to prevent any possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state and pave the way for a large-scale population transfer from the West Bank.

Israeli warning against entering Gaza occupation.. "It will be like a Vietnam bleed"

The most extreme occupation government in the history of the occupying state is moving towards occupying the besieged Gaza Strip, reflecting a contradiction with Israeli public opinion. This warning comes at a time when the danger to Israeli prisoners is increasing, and the capabilities of reserve forces are eroding, raising questions about the feasibility of this step.

Writer Avi Kalach in Yedioth Ahronoth points out that the bloody American history in Vietnam should be a lesson for the occupying state, as that war claimed the lives of many American soldiers and negatively affected the mental health of many of them. Kalach shows how the current government ignores opposing voices in Israeli society, which could lead to catastrophic results.

Kalach highlights that the current Israeli government is acting in a way that harms the operational capability of the army, despite the opposition of the Chief of Staff. He notes that both the international and regional communities oppose this step, complicating the situation further.

He also points out that the United States opposes the occupation plan, reflecting the growing anti-Israel sentiments within the Democratic Party. He warns that Germany, considered one of the main arms exporters to the occupying state, is considering imposing an arms export ban.

Despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's statements that the intention is not to occupy the sector but to eliminate Hamas, there are legal warnings that the occupation will carry serious responsibilities under international law, complicating the situation further.

Kalach explains that Netanyahu, for the sake of his political survival, seems willing to sacrifice the security of the state, raising concerns about the future of the occupying state. He also notes that the occupation could turn into hell for the world, with increasing international sanctions.

Under these circumstances, Kalach warns that the occupation will lead to legal investigations into war crimes, which will cause long-term harm to the occupying state and to the Israelis themselves.

Kalach concludes by emphasizing that the public and the business sector should seek alternatives, as the continued bleeding in Gaza will lead to dire consequences, and there must be concrete steps to end this catastrophe.

Britain plans to prosecute 60 individuals for supporting the "Palestine Action" movement.

London police announced on Friday that at least 60 people will face trial in Britain for supporting the recently banned "Palestine Action" movement. The police confirmed that they have made arrangements to investigate and prosecute large numbers of individuals on a weekly basis if necessary.

Since the movement was banned in early July, more than 700 supporters of "Palestine Action" have been arrested, including 522 individuals during a protest by the movement last weekend, marking the highest number of arrests recorded at a single protest in the British capital.

Director of Public Prosecutions Stephen Parkinson noted that the decisions regarding the detainees were a result of the large numbers of participants in recent demonstrations, and more charges are expected in the coming weeks.

Earlier this month, three individuals were charged with offenses under the Terrorism Act for their support of the banned movement, following their arrest at a protest in July. The defendants could face a sentence of up to 6 months in prison.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper defended the government's decision to ban the movement, asserting that national security and public safety must always be a top priority for the United Kingdom.

The "Palestine Action" movement was established in 2020 and gained prominence through activities it carried out in Britain following Israel's commencement of genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023. The movement has conducted activities to halt production in factories belonging to companies that deal with the occupation.

The British government banned the movement on July 7, just days after it claimed responsibility for storming an airbase in southern Britain, as a form of response to British military support for Israel in its war on Gaza.

International entities, including the United Nations and Amnesty International, have criticized the ban on the movement, deeming it a violation of the law, and warned that subsequent arrests threaten freedom of expression.

The dead of 6 Palestinians from one family, while the leaders of the occupation army are discussing today the acceleration of operations.

The Israeli occupation army intensified its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip since the dawn of Saturday, announcing its readiness to accelerate the process of occupying the city, resulting in the death of several Palestinians and injuries. Ambulance sources in Gaza confirmed the martyrdom of 6 Palestinians from one family, including 4 children, due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house in the Al-Bureij camp in the center of the strip.

Earlier, local sources reported the martyrdom of 3 people and injuries to others in an Israeli airstrike on tents of displaced persons in the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City. The occupation's machinery also opened fire towards the eastern areas of the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood south of the city, while artillery targeted the southern part of the Al-Sabra neighborhood.

The vicinity of the Islamic complex southeast of Gaza City was also targeted by Israeli artillery shelling, where the occupation demolished several houses in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood using explosives. The targeting of groups at aid distribution points continued, where 6 Palestinians waiting for aid were martyred by the occupation forces in the Netzarim area northwest of the Gaza Strip.

In Khan Younis, the occupation's warboats fired towards the city's beach, resulting in the death and injury of several Palestinians in a bombardment that targeted a tent sheltering displaced persons on Al-Hayya Street in the Al-Qarara town northwestern the city.

On another note, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the army is preparing to accelerate the operation aimed at occupying Gaza City, where army leaders will hold a meeting at the southern command to discuss military operations. Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir is expected to arrive tomorrow, Sunday, to approve the plans for the city's occupation.

Reports indicated that the plans for the occupation of Gaza City include attempts to reduce the likelihood of endangering the hostages, while determining the size of the regular and reserve forces that will be summoned. The Israeli army also confirmed that it will try to minimize the call-up of reserve soldiers to participate in the operation.

In recent days, the Nahal forces and Brigade 7 began operations in the Al-Zeitoun area on the outskirts of Gaza City, where the occupation army announced the implementation of a series of operations on the outskirts of the city before a large attack to control it. The army claimed that it was attacked by an anti-tank missile without any of its personnel being harmed.

The Israeli genocide has continued since October 7, 2023, resulting in 61,827 dead and 155,275 injured, most of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing and hundreds of thousands of displaced persons. Famine has also led to the deaths of 240 people, including 107 children.

The genocide war on Gaza enters its 680th day.

The genocide war waged by the occupation against the Gaza Strip has entered its 680th day, as the aggression continues to commit crimes against civilians, resulting in the death of tens of thousands and the injury of hundreds of thousands. This war has caused the displacement of many families and their starvation, as residents live in difficult humanitarian conditions.

According to reports from the Ministry of Health, the death toll has risen since October 7, 2023, to 61,827 dead, in addition to 155,275 injured with varying degrees of injuries. These numbers reflect the scale of the humanitarian disaster faced by the residents of the Strip.

Since March 18, 2025, reports have recorded 10,300 martyrs and 43,234 injuries, indicating the escalation of aggression and the occupation's violation of the ceasefire. This situation raises international concern and calls for urgent action to save civilians.

In the past hours, the occupation continued its intense bombardment, resulting in the martyrdom of citizen Youssef Moatasem Shaheen Al-Batta and his wife Saja Ghassan Al-Nafar, while three others were injured due to shelling that targeted a tent housing displaced persons in Khan Younis.

The occupation also committed a new massacre in the Al-Bureij camp, where the entire Ghanem family was erased from the civil registry following the bombing of their home. The martyrs from this family are Mohammed Ahmed Ghanem, his wife, and their children.

The occupation's artillery continues to target the areas surrounding the Islamic complex southeast of Gaza, while occupation aircraft launched raids on the Al-Bureij camp, exacerbating the suffering of the residents and deepening the humanitarian crisis.

The continuation of these crimes requires the international community to take serious steps to pressure the occupying state to stop the aggression and protect civilians, who have become victims of this ongoing war.

Palestine demands the Red Cross to intervene to protect detainees in Israeli prisons.

On Friday, Palestine called on the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene to protect Palestinian detainees in the occupation's prisons. This came in a letter addressed by Ibrahim Khreishi, the permanent observer of the State of Palestine to the United Nations, to the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Mirjana Spoljaric Egger.

Khreishi urged the International Committee to take immediate action to protect the lives of Palestinian detainees, who are subjected to torture, starvation, and mistreatment in the occupation's cells. He condemned the occupation's policy that has led to the deterioration of the health and humanitarian condition of leader Marwan Barghouti, who continues to spend years in solitary confinement.

Khreishi pointed out that these violations are part of a systematic policy targeting the Palestinian people and their leadership, holding the occupation fully responsible for the safety of the detainees. He also called for the immediate release of the most vulnerable groups, including the sick, the elderly, women, and children.

Khreishi condemned the assault carried out by the extremist Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir, who stormed Barghouti's cell and threatened him with death, considering this a serious crime that requires urgent international intervention.

Khreishi noted that the fate of Marwan Barghouti and all Palestinian detainees depends on immediate international action, calling on the International Committee of the Red Cross and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions to fulfill their responsibilities.

This request comes amid escalating provocative policies by Minister Ben Gvir, during which the conditions of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation's prisons have significantly deteriorated since he took office. Reports have shown a significant decrease in the weights of prisoners due to the harsh policies imposed in the prisons.

Marwan Barghouti, considered one of the most prominent leaders of the Palestinian prisoner movement, has been detained since 2002 and is sentenced to five life sentences. He was arrested by the occupation forces in April 2002 and was sentenced to life imprisonment five times and 40 years.

Life imprisonment in the occupation is indefinite, as Tel Aviv follows a policy of holding the bodies of prisoners even after their deaths inside the prisons. These policies reflect the ongoing violations of human rights against Palestinian detainees.

"Have mercy on Lebanon".. Parliamentarians criticize Qassem's speech and warn of a civil war.

A number of Lebanese parliamentarians criticized the speech of Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Naeem Qassem, in which he reiterated his refusal to hand over weapons, warning of the dangers of a civil war erupting in the country. This came at a time when political and security tensions are escalating in Lebanon, where some accuse Hezbollah of threatening internal stability.

In his speech delivered on the occasion of commemorating the fortieth day of Imam Hussein in Baalbek, Qassem affirmed that "the resistance will not hand over its weapons as long as the occupation exists," pointing out that the Lebanese government bears full responsibility for any internal strife. These statements provoked strong reactions from several MPs who considered such speeches a threat to national security.

The Lebanese Minister of Justice, Adel Nassar, strongly criticized Qassem's threats, noting that "the threat by some to destroy Lebanon in defense of their weapons puts an end to the notion that the weapon is for the defense of Lebanon." He emphasized that civil peace is not a subject for blackmail or sectarian tension, and that the lives of Lebanese people are not in the hands of any party, faction, or sect.

MP Ashraf Rifi, for his part, warned Hezbollah against repeating the threat of civil war, pointing out that the party "has bequeathed Lebanon occupation and humanitarian and economic disaster." He affirmed that Lebanon needs political and security stability away from threats.

MP Ghayath Yzbek also called for "have mercy on Lebanon," indicating that Qassem's speech threatens the lives of the Lebanese people. He stressed that Hezbollah must take responsibility instead of making threats.

In a related context, Qassem warned that protests against handing over weapons could reach the American embassy in Beirut, noting that Hezbollah and the Amal Movement agreed to postpone any protest movements to allow for discussion before reaching confrontation.

On August 5, the Lebanese Cabinet approved the restriction of weapons to the state, which sparked varied reactions from different political parties. Some MPs considered this decision an important step towards restoring the state's sovereignty.

These developments come amid escalating regional and international tensions, as American envoy Thomas Barak visited Lebanon last July, raising questions about the future of Lebanese-American relations and their impact on the internal situation.

It is worth noting that Lebanon witnessed an Israeli aggression on October 8, 2023, resulting in the deaths of more than 4,000 people and injuring about 17,000 others. This aggression complicated the security and political situation in the country, necessitating dialogue and understanding among all parties.

The Arab Parliament condemns the occupation's announcement of building thousands of colonial units in the West Bank.

The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the announcement by the Israeli occupation government's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich regarding the approval of the construction of 3,400 new colonial units in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem. This step comes at a sensitive time as Israeli violations against Palestinians are increasing.

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, described this step as a blatant challenge to international law and international legitimacy, pointing out that these decisions affirm the illegitimacy of colonialism. He emphasized that the Parliament firmly rejects the policy of escalating colonialism aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause.

Al-Yamahi noted that these actions represent a serious escalation of illegal colonial policies and come within a systematic policy to impose facts on the ground and Judaize Palestinian lands, undermining the chances of achieving just peace.

He also called on the international community, especially the Security Council and the parties sponsoring the peace process, to bear their legal and moral responsibilities. He stressed the need to take effective measures to stop these violations and ensure accountability for the occupation's crimes.

The Arab Parliament renewed its full support for the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The colonial steps taken by the occupation will only lead to further escalation and tension in the region, threatening stability and security in the Palestinian territories.

The "E1" plan.. A settlement plan for demographic change in Jerusalem

The "E1" plan is an Israeli settlement project located between the settlements of Ma'ale Adumim and Pisgat Ze'ev in Area C, which is under Israeli control. The project spans an area of about 12 square kilometers between the towns of Anata, Al-Eizariya, Al-Zaim, and Abu Dis, and aims to connect the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim to occupied Jerusalem while separating it from its Palestinian surroundings.

Historically, Israeli settlement expansion began after the complete occupation of Jerusalem in 1967, when Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin established the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim in 1975. Since then, the occupation's efforts to expel Palestinians and bring settlers to Jerusalem have accelerated, leading to the separation of Palestinians in the West Bank from the city.

In the early 1990s, Ariel Sharon proposed a plan to expand the settlement by building 2,500 housing units, but the government froze the plan due to the Oslo negotiations. However, the occupation's attempts to annex major settlements to Jerusalem continued, including the "E1" plan, which was announced in 1992.

In 1997, the Israeli Minister of Defense approved the plan, and in 2009, work on it was halted due to international pressure, but it resurfaced in 2012 after the United Nations granted Palestine the status of "non-member observer." This change in the international stance gave the occupation the green light to resume work on the plan.

The objectives of the "E1" plan include annexing the settlement of Ma'ale Adumim to the occupying state and separating Jerusalem from the West Bank, thereby enhancing Israeli control over the largest possible area of land. The plan also seeks to alter the demographic balance in favor of Israelis, hindering any opportunity to establish a geographically connected Palestinian state.

The "E1" plan faces widespread opposition from the international community, with many countries and organizations condemning it, considering it undermines peace prospects and threatens the establishment of a Palestinian state. The Palestinian Authority has deemed this plan a declaration of war on the two-state solution.

The Israeli measures to implement the "E1" plan include the confiscation of Palestinian land, the demolition of homes, and the forced displacement of Bedouin communities, reflecting the occupation's policy of promoting settlement at the expense of Palestinian rights.

The Belgian Parliament discusses recognizing the State of Palestine and imposing sanctions on the occupation.

The Foreign Affairs Committee in the Belgian Parliament held an emergency meeting to discuss the repercussions of the aggression against the Gaza Strip, where the debate intensified among coalition government parties regarding the official recognition of the State of Palestine and potential sanctions against the Israeli occupation.

During the session, several deputies called for Brussels to take a definitive stance and recognize the State of Palestine before the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly next September, where other European countries, such as France and Britain, are expected to take similar steps.

Belgian Foreign Minister, Maxim Prevot, announced that the government would hold a meeting in the coming weeks to discuss the position officially, which will address three main axes: the situation in Gaza, recognition of the State of Palestine, and the possibility of imposing sanctions on the occupation.

The discussion reflects a clear division within the coalition government; while the "Flemish Christian Democrats," "Engaged," and "Flemish Socialists" strongly push for recognition of Palestine and economic sanctions on the occupation, other parties take a more cautious stance.

The parties supporting recognition demand concrete actions that go beyond "statements of condemnation," proposing to prevent some extremist occupation ministers from entering Belgium as a means of pressure to stop what they describe as "the Israeli occupation's genocide in Gaza."

In contrast, the "New Flemish Alliance" and the "Reform Movement" oppose what they describe as "hasty" recognition, claiming that the "necessary conditions" for that have not yet been met, and that any Belgian sanctions would not be effective without support from the United States.

This parliamentary discussion reaffirms the advanced positions that Belgium has previously taken, as Foreign Minister Maxim Prevot described the occupation's siege on Gaza as a "war crime," revealing that his government has received proposals to impose sanctions on Tel Aviv.

Prevot then questioned indignantly: "I do not know what other atrocities must occur in Gaza before we can talk about genocide!" referring to the unprecedented humanitarian disaster and the fall of tens of thousands of martyrs and injured, most of whom are children and women.

United Nations: Building thousands of colonial units in the West Bank is illegal.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights issued a statement confirming that the occupying state's plan to build thousands of colonial units in the occupied West Bank, especially near occupied Jerusalem, contradicts international laws. This statement comes at a time when concerns are increasing about the colonial expansion that threatens the rights of Palestinians.

The Commission warned that these colonial plans could lead to the forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands, constituting a blatant violation of international law. It noted that such actions could be considered a war crime under international standards.

These warnings are part of international efforts to monitor the violations committed by the occupying state against Palestinians. The Commission called on the international community to take effective measures to pressure the occupying state to stop these colonial activities.

The Commission also emphasized the importance of protecting the rights of Palestinians in land and property, pointing out that the continued construction of colonial units exacerbates instability in the region and increases tensions between Palestinians and Zionist settlers.

This statement comes at a sensitive time as international pressure on the occupying state to halt its colonial policies is increasing. Many countries and international organizations have expressed their concern over the implications of these policies on the peace process in the region.

France condemns Israel's demolition of a school under construction in the West Bank.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the demolition by Israeli authorities of a school under construction in the occupied West Bank, which was carried out in early August. The school was funded by the French Development Agency in cooperation with the European Union.

The school was expected to host around 100 Palestinian children, reflecting the importance of the project in supporting education in the region. The French Foreign Ministry held the Israeli authorities responsible for this demolition, noting that it constitutes a violation of the rights of Palestinian children.

It is worth mentioning that this school is the second funded by the French Development Agency to be demolished by the occupation, following the demolition of a school supported by the French Foreign Ministry in East Jerusalem. This raises concerns about the continuity of education in the occupied territories.

On August 5, the Director of Education in the city of Tubas, Azmi Blawna, reported that occupation forces stormed the village of Al-Aqaba accompanied by bulldozers and began demolishing the school funded by the French agency. This incursion reflects an escalation in the occupation's policy towards educational facilities.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Israeli authorities carried out 75 demolition operations in July, affecting 122 facilities, including 60 inhabited homes and 11 uninhabited ones, in addition to 22 agricultural facilities and 26 sources of livelihood.

In the first half of this year, the Israeli army demolished 588 facilities, resulting in the displacement of 843 citizens, including 411 children. Additionally, 556 facilities were notified of impending demolition, highlighting the scale of assaults on Palestinian property.

These policies are considered part of a colonial strategy aimed at undermining the Palestinian presence in the West Bank, threatening the possibility of achieving a two-state solution.

Sources: Egyptian officials anticipate a breakthrough in Gaza negotiations next week.. and Hamas shows flexibility.

A delegation from Hamas concluded its visit to Cairo after a series of intensive meetings with Egyptian officials, where these meetings were dedicated to discussing the humanitarian aid file in light of the worsening famine in the besieged Gaza Strip. Egyptian officials spoke about the possibility of a breakthrough in negotiations during the coming week, raising hopes for an improvement in the humanitarian situation.

Sources confirmed that the Egyptian side requested to include the issue of aid on the agenda, where a direct meeting was held with the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Hassan Mohamed Rashad. However, no decisive results were reached regarding a ceasefire, but political channels remain open with Qatar's participation to push the Israeli occupation towards resuming negotiations.

An Egyptian military official considered that the flexibility shown by Hamas opens the door to the possibility of reaching an agreement. However, the position of the Israeli occupation remains the main obstacle, as the continued preparation for fire does not necessarily indicate an intention to occupy the city of Gaza, but rather an attempt to increase pressure on the movement.

Hamas confirmed during the meetings its readiness to return to the negotiating table in parallel with the introduction of aid, emphasizing its preparedness to enter into a comprehensive deal that ends the war. However, Tel Aviv insists on resuming negotiations from the point where talks were halted, and continues its military operations, hinting at an invasion of the city of Gaza.

A source in Hamas stressed that the movement will not accept negotiations as a cover for the continuation of crimes, denying the existence of any new official offers so far. In the same context, the Israeli occupation insists on rejecting any partial prisoner exchange deal, as the head of the Mossad, David Barnea, informed during a visit to Doha that the occupation is committed to reaching a comprehensive deal.

Hebrew newspapers also reported that the Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, stated that Tel Aviv will only consider a deal that resolves all outstanding issues. Additionally, Channel 12 reported that communications are taking place between Tel Aviv and Washington to arrange a potential visit by U.S. President Donald Trump next month, but the timing of the visit remains linked to the course of battles and developments in the negotiation process.

Israeli analysts: The plan to occupy Gaza faces significant obstacles, and these are the most prominent ones.

Analysts in Israeli media have acknowledged that the plan to occupy the city of Gaza faces significant difficulties, as these obstacles relate to the situation of the occupying army and the risk of sacrificing the detained prisoners. Additionally, the readiness of resistance factions to confront and engage complicates matters further.

Channel "Kan 11" reported that the Israeli army is preparing to implement a plan that includes the large-scale displacement of residents from the city of Gaza, where the number of Palestinians is estimated to exceed 800,000. The plan also includes separating the city from the central Gaza area by re-establishing the Netzarim axis.

A major ground operation in the city will begin simultaneously with extensive airstrikes, further complicating the situation. Israeli officials have noted "humanitarian constraints" that hinder the implementation of the plan, amid international pressures against the displacement of residents.

Channel 12 described the city of Gaza as "the unofficial capital of the Palestinians in the sector," where military and political decisions related to Hamas are made. This means that the occupying army will face a complex urban environment, filled with residents, narrow alleys, and a network of tunnels.

The operational and military challenges facing the occupying army are increasing, especially with estimates of prisoners in the area. Former Mossad Deputy Chief, Udi Leibovitch, called for a red alert regarding the sacrifice of prisoners, pointing to the risks faced by soldiers.

Knesset member Efrat Rayten also described the plan to occupy Gaza as a major adventure, putting the lives of prisoners and soldiers at risk. She emphasized that the resistance in Gaza has prepared a large number of ambushes in high buildings, making the mission more difficult.

Rayten questioned the readiness of military vehicles, noting that army forces are suffering from exhaustion. A week ago, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced that the security cabinet had approved a proposal to take control of the city of Gaza.

Hebrew media: Trump asks Netanyahu to accelerate military operations in Gaza

The Hebrew newspaper Yisrael Hayom revealed that U.S. President Donald Trump has asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to accelerate military operations in the Gaza Strip. This request comes at a time when pressure is increasing on the occupying government from the U.S. administration.

The newspaper explained that the Minister of Strategic Affairs in the occupying government, Ron Dermer, warned during a meeting of the security and political cabinet (the Cabinet) that the U.S. administration's patience with the ongoing war in Gaza is beginning to run out.

This warning reflects the growing concern in Washington about the escalation of violence in Gaza, where the number of martyrs and injured among Palestinian civilians is increasing due to the ongoing aggression.

At the same time, the occupying government continues to carry out military operations in the sector, complicating the humanitarian situation and exacerbating the humanitarian crises there.

These developments come at a sensitive time, as Trump seeks to strengthen his position in U.S. foreign policy, and it seems he prefers to take more drastic steps to support the occupation in the context of the ongoing conflict.

It is worth noting that U.S. pressure on the occupation is not new, but it is noticeably increasing under the current circumstances, raising questions about the future of relations between the two sides.

The day after the war ends: A national vision with full Palestinian sovereignty over Gaza

Dr. Rabhi

Dr. Rabhi

Opinion Writer

Today, Gaza is experiencing one of the bloodiest and most brutal wars in its history, a war that has transcended the boundaries of military violence to a systematic destruction of the human, the place, and the identity. While regional and international parties race to outline the features of the "next day," the most important question arises: who has the right to self-determination in Gaza? Will the future of the sector reflect the Palestinian will, or will it be the result of external impositions dressed in the guise of "reconstruction" and "civil administration"?

Since the Nakba until now, geopolitical factors have not separated Gaza from the West Bank except by the act of occupation. The unity of Palestinian land does not accept division, and Gaza is not a separate entity managed by a deal or a temporary understanding. What applies to the West Bank applies to Gaza, and sovereignty is indivisible, just as its future can only be shaped by a collective Palestinian national will.

Some international initiatives speak of a civil administration for Gaza in the "next day," proposing names of figures – such as Samir Halila – to manage the sector, whether we agree with him or not. However, these proposals, even if wrapped in civility and pragmatism, lack Palestinian legitimacy and open the door to a form of "guardianship" over the sector, unless they come in accordance with a Palestinian vision endorsed by the leadership of the Palestinian people represented by the Palestine Liberation Organization.

Any externally imposed administration, even if it comes with a Palestinian facade, will ultimately be subject to non-national agendas, and this must be categorically rejected. It is unacceptable for a part of Palestine to be managed by a non-Palestinian decision, nor for Gaza to be rebuilt at a political price paid by the Palestinian people in their dignity and rights.

Arab coordination and support are welcome, but under clear Palestinian conditions, and within the framework of full respect for independent national decision-making. Palestinians do not reject support; rather, they demand it, provided it does not turn into a tool of political pressure or a means to reshape Palestinian leadership from outside the national framework.

Any Arab intervention must support reconciliation and unity, not replace it or come at its expense. Arab roles should complement the Palestinian role, not replace it.

What we do not accept is for a ruler to be imposed on Gaza from abroad under any pretext, whether in the name of "competence" or "necessity," just as we categorically reject any civil administration established under a humanitarian cover while, in essence, it is an extension of the occupying authority, and we refuse to compromise any of our national constants, whether under the pressure of reconstruction or through attempts to arrange security situations at the expense of Palestinian rights.

Sovereignty is not a service... but a right, and the right to self-determination is also a right under international law.

Gaza, like the West Bank, derives its dignity from the dignity of every Palestinian. Those who wish to participate in its reconstruction or organize its life after the war must first respect the blood of its people and their right to self-determination. The next day must be a distinctly Palestinian day, where the features of the future are written by Palestinian hands, not by the pens of donors or the calculations of occupation. There is no homeland without sovereignty, no sovereignty without unity, and no unity without a free will that rejects dependency and insists on dignity.

Global newspapers: Only Trump can stop the occupation of Gaza and save Israel from its government.

Many global newspapers have addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to occupy the city of Gaza, noting that U.S. President Donald Trump may be the only one capable of stopping this plan. Concerns are growing about the escalation of the situation in Gaza, where U.S. intervention is deemed necessary to avoid catastrophe.

In an article by Israeli writer Gideon Levy, the assassination of Anas Sharif, a prominent correspondent for Al Jazeera, was highlighted, considering it a deliberate execution. Levy strongly criticized the occupying army for killing journalists, pointing out his lack of trust in a state that prevents free coverage of the war.

Levy also criticized the Israeli media for adopting the army's narrative, asserting that Sharif was braver than any Israeli correspondent and could teach Israeli media lessons in the fundamentals of journalism. This criticism reflects the significant gap between media narratives and the true accounts of events.

An analysis in the American magazine Foreign Policy pointed out that Netanyahu's plan to control Gaza is illogical and a disaster for everyone. Trump is seen as the only hope for changing the course, as he could provide a plausible justification for Netanyahu to back down from his plan, helping to avoid escalation.

In the occupied West Bank, an investigation by The New York Times found that Zionist settlers are carrying out violent campaigns against Palestinian villages. With the world preoccupied with the Gaza war, these attacks have become routine, reflecting an escalation in assaults against Palestinians.

The investigations indicate that these campaigns by Zionist settlers are among the most violent since Israel's occupation of the West Bank in 1967. These events raise concerns about the humanitarian situation in the region and increase the suffering of Palestinians.

In another context, The Washington Post discussed the Trump-Putin summit, where the writers noted a fundamental misunderstanding mixed with hope and fear. Hope for Trump's success in pressuring Putin to end the war, and fear that Trump might heed Putin's demands.

The White House is lowering expectations about what can be achieved at this summit, reflecting a state of anxiety about the outcomes of the meeting. On the other hand, The Moscow Times viewed the summit as evoking feelings of anger and anxiety, but it also carries hopes for a diplomatic breakthrough.

The mere possibility of an American president receiving his Russian counterpart, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court, in a U.S. state that was once Russian territory, represents a confirmation of Washington's deviation from its traditional allies.

These developments reflect the complexities of the international political situation and its impact on the Palestinian cause, where hope remains pinned on interventions that could change the course of events.

Guterres calls on Israel to immediately halt the plan to divide the West Bank.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on the Israeli government to immediately halt its plan to divide the occupied West Bank into two parts. Guterres emphasized that the establishment of settlements, including those in East Jerusalem, is a clear violation of international law.

In a statement, Guterres pointed out that these illegal settlements will further entrench the occupation and exacerbate tensions in the region. He added that construction in the area known as "E1" will separate the northern West Bank from the southern part, seriously undermining the possibility of establishing a viable Palestinian state.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the approval of a settlement plan in the "E1" area, which would separate Jerusalem from the West Bank. Yedioth Ahronoth reported that Smotrich, who also holds a position in the Ministry of Defense, announced the approval for the construction of 3,401 new settlement units near the Ma'ale Adumim settlement and 3,515 units in the surrounding area.

Smotrich stated that the plan "connects Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem and cuts off Arab communication between the cities of Ramallah and Bethlehem," considering that the plan buries the idea of a Palestinian state. He affirmed that this area is strategic for both Palestinians and the international community.

According to Yedioth Ahronoth, Smotrich's approval revives the "E1" project, which has been stalled for decades under international pressure, as this project is seen as a strategic barrier to the establishment of a Palestinian state, meaning that the occupying state is pushing towards the annexation of the occupied West Bank.

The "E1" project aims to connect Jerusalem with several Israeli settlements located east of it in the West Bank, such as Ma'ale Adumim, by confiscating Palestinian lands in the area and establishing new settlements, thereby preventing any potential Palestinian expansion.

The head of the Ma'ale Adumim settlement confirmed that the project will completely eliminate the dream of a Palestinian state, while the head of the regional council for West Bank settlements stated that the announcement brings the occupying state closer to establishing full sovereignty over the West Bank.

Palestinians maintain that East Jerusalem is the capital of their hoped-for state, based on international legitimacy resolutions that do not recognize the occupation of the city by the occupying state in 1967 or its annexation in 1980.

Settlers shoot 3 Palestinians and burn vehicles in the West Bank.

The Ramallah Governorate in the occupied West Bank witnessed new attacks by Israeli settlers on Friday, resulting in the injury of 3 Palestinians and the burning of 3 vehicles and a house. These attacks come in the context of ongoing violations faced by Palestinians in the occupied territories.

According to eyewitnesses, a group of settlers attacked the town of Al-Mazra'a Al-Sharqiya east of Ramallah, leading to clashes with Palestinians. During these confrontations, settlers fired at citizens, resulting in at least 3 Palestinians being injured, who were transferred to the Ramallah Medical Complex for treatment.

In another incident, Israeli settlers assaulted the town of Attara north of Ramallah, where they completely burned two vehicles and partially burned a third. They also set fire to one of the houses, causing parts of it to burn, according to local residents.

These attacks come amid escalating violence by Israeli settlers against Palestinians, with data indicating that at least 1,014 Palestinians have been martyred since October 7, 2023, in addition to around 7,000 injured and 18,500 detained.

These attacks are accompanied by a campaign of genocide launched by the occupying state in the Gaza Strip, which has resulted in a large number of martyrs and injured, reflecting the extent of the suffering experienced by Palestinians in all occupied territories.

Israeli violations continue to disregard international calls and demands to stop the aggression, further complicating the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories and reflecting a state of chaos and instability.

The plan has officially begun.. How does the occupation practice deception regarding the occupation of Gaza?

Field sources have announced that the occupation has effectively begun implementing its plan to occupy the city of Gaza, despite its official denial. The plan includes the displacement of residents and the demolition of buildings, as the Chief of Staff of the occupation army, Eyal Zamir, approved the central idea of the plan last Wednesday.

Information indicates that the occupation forces have started to advance towards the southeastern neighborhoods of the city of Gaza, coinciding with extensive bombing and demolition operations. The Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, for example, is experiencing unprecedented bombing, leading to the displacement of its residents towards the overcrowded western areas.

More than 300 homes have been destroyed in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, especially in areas close to Salah al-Din Street. The demolition and bombing operations have also extended to the Al-Sabra neighborhood, where the occupation forces are targeting inhabited homes with the aim of displacing the remaining residents.

The occupation forces are controlling the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood and large parts of the Al-Sabra neighborhood through aerial fire, spreading terror among the residents. The past hours have witnessed the destruction of inhabited homes, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of dozens, amid the inability of ambulance crews to reach the area.

The plan to reoccupy the Gaza Strip has sparked widespread criticism around the world, with warnings of further Palestinian casualties. The occupation ignores international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to cease the aggression.

Since the beginning of the aggression in October 2023, the occupying state has committed genocide in Gaza, resulting in more than 61,000 martyrs and 154,000 injured, most of whom are children and women. The humanitarian situation is deteriorating dangerously, with hundreds of thousands of displaced people and famine threatening the lives of many.

Dead and wounded in the shelling and gunfire of the occupation in several areas of the Gaza Strip.

A number of citizens were killed and injured at dawn today, Friday, in the shelling and gunfire of the Israeli occupation in several areas of the Gaza Strip. Medical sources reported the death of 3 citizens, including a child, due to the occupation's shelling of a group of citizens near the Communications Roundabout west of Rafah city.

Another citizen was killed and three others were injured due to the occupation's shelling in the central Gaza Strip, in addition to injuries from the occupation's gunfire in the city of Asda in the northwest of Khan Younis. These events come as part of the ongoing escalation by the occupation army against Palestinian civilians.

The occupation army carried out 5 demolition operations of buildings in the Zaitoun neighborhood of Gaza City, leading to the destruction of many Palestinian homes. The occupation's warplanes also launched an airstrike on the western part of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip, exacerbating the suffering of citizens in that area.

Medical sources announced last Thursday evening the death of 32 citizens across the Gaza Strip due to the gunfire and shelling of the Israeli occupation forces. This toll reflects the scale of the ongoing aggression faced by the sector.

The toll of the occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen since October 7, 2023, to 61,776 dead and 154,906 injured. These figures indicate the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the residents of the sector under the weight of occupation.

Hebrew report reveals "Legalization Cell": Secret unit in the occupation army to justify targeting journalists in Gaza

A detailed report revealed the formation of an intelligence unit by the occupation army known as the "Legitimization Cell," which was established after October 7. This unit works on fabricating intelligence narratives aimed at justifying the targeting of Palestinian journalists in the besieged Gaza Strip, amid increasing global outrage towards these assaults.

The mission of the "Legitimization Cell" is to gather intelligence used to improve the occupation's image in international media, focusing on searching for alleged evidence regarding the use of schools and hospitals by Palestinian factions. The unit also seeks to document failed resistance rocket launches, reflecting its propagandistic nature.

One of the most dangerous tasks of this unit is identifying journalists in Gaza and portraying them as covert elements within Hamas, leading to their legal protection being stripped away and presenting their killings as legitimate acts. According to the report, the goal was to "find one journalist who could be accused of belonging to Hamas," justifying the killing of dozens of others.

The report quoted a source stating that the political level within the occupation entity was directly directing the unit's work, and the information collected by the unit was regularly handed over to the United States, reflecting the close coordination between the occupation and international powers.

The report provided several concrete examples of the "Legitimization Cell's" involvement in disinformation campaigns, such as the case of Anas Al-Sharif, where the cell was involved in the incitement campaign preceding his assassination, led by the spokesperson for the occupation army to the Arab media, Avichay Adraee.

The unit also attempted to attach military charges to journalist Ismail Al-Ghoul after his martyrdom, relying on old documents referring to military ranks he obtained as a child. These examples illustrate how the unit seeks to distort facts and justify assaults.

In the incident of the Baptist hospital explosion, the unit presented a phone call it claimed was between Hamas members, but it later turned out that the voice of one of the speakers belonged to a Palestinian human rights activist unrelated to any faction, highlighting the extent of the evidence fabrication.

The report confirms that the occupation army treats the media as if it were a "battlefield," ordering the declassification of sensitive information not for security purposes, but to use it in the information war under the banner of "this is good for legitimacy." This policy reflects the occupation's attempt to impose complete media blackout on what is happening in Gaza.

The report concludes that these systematic policies are part of the occupation's attempt to silence every voice documenting war crimes, placing all journalists working in Palestine in direct danger.

Targeting journalists in Gaza is not merely an assault on individuals, but an assault on press freedom and the community's right to know, necessitating a serious response from the international community.

On the dawn of Friday, citizen Khadr Jum'a Al-Nawaj'a and his wife Fatima Khalil Al-Nawaj'a were assaulted by Zionist settlers in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, resulting in injuries and bruises.

Activist Osama Makhamra reported that the settlers attacked the homes of citizens in the village of Susiya, using sticks and batons in their assaults, which led to injuries to the couple's heads.

The injured were transferred to Yatta Government Hospital for treatment, where medical examinations revealed injuries that required medical care.

This assault comes in the context of escalating attacks carried out by settler gangs against Palestinian citizens, aimed at displacing them from their lands for the sake of colonial expansion.

Attacks continue to increase, as settlers enjoy the protection of the occupation army, exacerbating the suffering of Palestinian citizens in their areas.

These incidents are part of the ongoing policy of occupation targeting Palestinians, necessitating international action to stop these violations.

Colonizers burn 4 vehicles and parts of a house in Attara, north of Ramallah.

On the dawn of Friday, the town of Attara, northwest of Ramallah, witnessed a new attack by settlers, who set fire to four vehicles and parts of a house. This attack comes as part of a series of violations faced by Palestinians in their areas.

Local sources reported that the settlers attacked the eastern area of Attara and threw Molotov cocktails at a house, causing significant material damage. They also wrote racist slogans on the walls, reflecting the escalation of tension and violence in the area.

Firefighting vehicles rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames that had ignited in the vehicles, but the damage had already occurred. This attack adds to a series of assaults carried out by settlers in the area, targeting Palestinians and their properties.

In a related context, the occupation army stormed the area to provide protection for the settlers, raising questions about the role of the occupation in protecting the aggressors instead of safeguarding Palestinian civilians.

Last Thursday, settlers re-erected colonial tents on the lands of Mount "Khirbat Tarafin" near the entrance of the town of Attara, after the occupation army had demolished them four times previously. This mountain is considered an archaeological area, with an estimated area of about 2000 dunams.

The ongoing assaults by settlers reflect the occupation's policy of seizing Palestinian lands, increasing the suffering of Palestinians and exacerbating the state of tension in the region.

Gaza and the Legacy of Concentration Camps.. When History Awakens in the Present

In the midst of intellectual and political discussions about the Israeli war on Gaza, former Tunisian minister and political thinker Ahmed Qalloul sheds light on the dimensions of this war through a deep historical reading. Qalloul connects the present with the past, invoking the experiences of peoples in confronting colonialism and hegemony, and considers that what is happening in Gaza is a continuation of the policies of collective punishment witnessed in Western history.

Qalloul begins by analyzing the roots of these policies, pointing out that what the Palestinian people are experiencing today is very similar to what other peoples have suffered in history. He invokes the concept of "detention camps" as a reality threatening Gaza in the twenty-first century, where Palestinians are subjected to harsh and inhumane conditions.

The history of concentration camps, as Qalloul mentions, dates back to World War II, where the Nazis committed horrific crimes against humanity by detaining hundreds of thousands in harsh conditions. These events have become part of Western memory and were later used to justify Israeli occupation policies in the region.

Qalloul reviews how the Israeli occupation has exploited this historical memory to justify its violations against Palestinians, noting that French philosopher Roger Garaudy considered these crimes to be part of serious violations of human rights, akin to the practices of other authoritarian regimes.

As the two-year mark approaches for the war waged by Israel on Gaza, Qalloul questions the objectives of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his plan to sweep through the sector. He points out that history teaches us that tyrannical powers resort to radical solutions when they fail to suppress oppressed peoples.

Qalloul asserts that the expected step from Netanyahu is not merely the occupation of Gaza, but its transformation into a detention camp for the twenty-first century, where the occupation seeks to starve the Palestinian people to death. He indicates that these camps aim to control the enemy and impose collective punishment.

The author reviews historical experiences of detention camps, starting from Spanish colonial rule in Cuba, through British occupation experiences in South Africa, and reaching the practices of the United States in the Philippines. These experiences illustrate how colonial powers used these tactics to suppress resistance.

Qalloul emphasizes that what is happening in Gaza today is an extension of a long history of crimes committed by the Western system, and that the Israeli occupation represents the culmination of this savagery. He points out that the crimes committed by Netanyahu are no different from those perpetrated by this system in the past.

In conclusion, Qalloul stresses that what the Palestinian resistance is doing in Gaza is a defense of human conscience, and that the scene of martyrs and the injured in Gaza should shake the conscience of the world. He affirms that hope for liberation will only be realized through the unity of the nation and Egypt's support for the Gaza cause.

What is happening in Gaza today is a struggle for survival, and there must be real international action to lift the siege on the sector, otherwise history will repeat itself, and Gaza will remain a symbol of resistance against injustice.

Inside Israel, the movement to stop Netanyahu’s Gaza war is gaining momentum

Although the suffering of the Palestinian population has capturing the attention of media and leaders worldwide, voices expressing empathy for Gazans are still a minority in Israel.

On Saturday evening, during TV primetime, activists from Standing Together, a Jewish-Arab movement for peace, stormed the live Israeli broadcast of Big Brother. Three young women, wearing “We’re Leaving Gaza!” T-shirts, sat on the stage while the anchor was heard saying: “Everything’s fine, everything’s fine.” They, on the contrary, wanted the Israeli public watching the show to know that everything isn’t fine – far from it. Hauled away, one managed to shout: “The war has to stop!”One of the protesters, Ariel Dukelski, told Democrat TV: “Inside Big Brother’s house, the show with the highest ratings on TV today, the residents are arguing about the cigarette budgets and ice pops, when only an hour and a half away, children are dying of hunger, there is mass extermination and the hostages are left to die.”The protests – which the activists vow to continue – have escalated after the decision last week by the Israeli security cabinet to “take control of Gaza City.” While the suffering of the Palestinian population is capturing the attention of media and leaders around the world, voices such as the ones of Standing Together, expressing empathy for the civilians of Gaza, are a minority in Israel. However, the majority of Israelis – 74 per cent, according to a July poll from Channel 12 – want to see the end of the war in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages. The recent videos of two young emaciated hostages, Rom Braslavsky and Evyatar David, have revived a sense of urgency. The families of the hostages, exhausted but nevertheless determined to do everything possible to save the lives of their loved ones, are calling for a nationwide strike on Sunday.Mothers of Israeli hostages fear renewed Gaza offensive could endanger their sonsOpinion: Even in war, attacking medical facilities must remain off limitsHigh tech companies, the Israel Bar Association, universities and some municipalities have announced they would take part in the strike. “It is our moral duty,” said a statement by the University of Haifa.

Momentum is building as Israel buckles under the weight of 22 months of war. Women’s organizations are banding together and speaking out. “The fighters in Gaza, our sons, are asking us to call for the end of this war,” Moran Michel from the new coalition Wars End When Mothers Rise told me. “This war serves no security or diplomatic purpose, only a political agenda.”According to media reports, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has also pushed back, arguing that the plan to take over Gaza City might be a “death trap” for soldiers and further endanger the hostages. Reserve and retired Israel Air Force pilots are also calling for the war to end.Open this photo in gallery:Enav Zangauker, mother of hostage Israeli Matan Zangauker, cries by a fake coffin during a protest in Tel Aviv.

However, during a news conference last Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a point of showing not everyone in Israel opposes his military strategy. He read a note a reservist soldier wrote to his wife: “We are very strong, motivated and capable to do any amount of reserved duty necessary to beat Hamas.”

The Prime Minister’s aim was to show that even though the streets might become packed over the next few days with people opposing the war, and specifically, the plan to invade Gaza City, there are also soldiers who support him and his decisions. “We are able to finish Hamas and we will finish Hamas,” said Mr. Netanyahu. In an interesting twist, his far-right minister Bezalel Smotrich, who advocates for a total occupation of Gaza, expressed his disappointment with Mr. Netanyahu’s plan. “I have lost faith that the Prime Minister is able and willing to lead the IDF to a decisive victory,” Mr. Smotrich said. The plan appears to leave the door open for a partial hostage deal, which could halt the military operation. Nevertheless, Mr. Smotrich is not threatening to quit the government.

For now, Mr. Netanyahu remains politically strong and in a position to ignore the loud voices rising from across the country. At last Saturday’s weekly rally for the hostages, organizers said 100,000 people took to the streets of Tel Aviv and other cities. This Saturday, a significant turnout is expected, and Sunday’s general strike will likely get wide support.Every Israeli wishes Hamas would end the war by releasing the hostages, disarming and relinquishing power in the Gaza Strip, but they also know such outcomes are unrealistic from a terrorist jihadi organization. Therefore, they are turning to their government to find a way to end to the longest war in Israel’s history. Not only has it failed to achieve its objectives by now – destroying Hamas and bringing back all the hostages – but it has also sunk the standing of Israel internationally.Large numbers will be out on the streets this weekend. The government will hear, but it doesn’t mean it will listen.

4 Reasons Behind the Occupation Intensifying the Demolition of Residential Neighborhoods in Gaza

The Israeli occupation army destroyed more than 300 homes in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City within three days, as part of a focused military operation that includes systematic bombing and demolition of homes. These operations are part of a strategy implemented since October 7, 2023, where the occupation seeks to achieve multiple objectives by destroying residential neighborhoods.

According to military expert Hatem Karim Al-Falahi, the main objective of the demolition operations is to weaken the resistance factions and their infrastructure located in residential areas. This type of aggression is considered an effective means of pressuring the resistance, which may force it to make concessions or provoke public anger against it.

Changing the demographic and geographic composition of the area is another goal of the demolition operations, as the destroyed neighborhoods become uninhabitable, leading to the forced displacement of residents. This displacement contributes to the creation of buffer security zones, making it easier for the occupation to control the geography later on.

Reports indicate that there are areas within the Gaza Strip that have been destroyed by up to 80% or 90%. This extensive destruction will lead to significant repercussions that may last for long periods, such as the length of the reconstruction process, which will require substantial resources and a long time.

Major Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense Authority in the Gaza Strip, confirmed that the occupation army is using high-explosive bombs aimed at destroying the vicinity of the targeted home, causing the greatest possible loss of life and property.

Al-Falahi pointed out that the anticipated Israeli incursion into Gaza City with the aim of occupying it will be a major challenge for the occupation army, due to the density of the buildings and their ability to obstruct visibility for advancing forces, making it easier for resistance fighters to move within these areas.

In light of this information, the statements from the Israeli Chief of Staff about military operations that may extend to 2026 seem logical, as Gaza City is the largest in terms of area and population and will require a long time to subdue.

9 answers that clarify the ambitions of the occupation in the "Greater Israel" project.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza, acknowledged that he is "very much" connected to the idea of "Greater Israel." This announcement came in an interview with a news network, provoking strong reactions from several Arab countries.

The "Greater Israel" project is an ideological and political concept in Zionist thought, referring to expanded borders of the Israeli state that include lands located between the Nile River in Egypt and the Euphrates River in Iraq, as well as parts of neighboring countries such as Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

Historically, this concept is linked to biblical narratives about the divine promise to the Children of Israel for a land extending from the Nile to the Euphrates. The Zionist movement adopted this idea since its inception, using it to justify expansion and settlement.

In the early days of the occupation state in 1948, there was no official declaration adopting the project, but some leaders like Menachem Begin and Moshe Dayan spoke about the necessity of retaining the territories occupied after 1967 as part of "historical Israel."

Netanyahu's statement is the first of its kind in which a high-ranking official expresses his vision for achieving "Greater Israel" officially, reflecting the presence of this vision in Israeli political, party, and settlement discourse.

This concept has led to Arab fears of Israeli expansion at the expense of neighboring countries, as these fears have intensified due to some of the expansionist settlement policies of the Israeli occupation in areas of the West Bank and the occupied Golan Heights.

International law rejects any Israeli expansion by force and considers settlements in occupied territories illegal. The international community, including the United Nations, does not recognize the concept of "Greater Israel."

Within Israel, there is opposition to the idea from some secular and leftist political forces that see adherence to the concept of "Greater Israel" as an obstacle to peace and a threat to the demographic and democratic character of the state.

Netanyahu's justifications for announcing the expansionist project include religious and historical justifications, in addition to security and national justifications that reject the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders.
