Shtayyeh calls for stopping the exclusion of "Israel" from the enforcement of international law and holding it accountable

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on states, governments, international bodies and courts to stop excluding Israel from the enforcement of international and humanitarian law, and to hold it accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity that it continues to commit against the Palestinian people for the eighth consecutive decade.

This came during the cabinet session entitled "The Return Session", today, Monday, which was held in Ramallah, as it coincides with the 75th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.

Shtayyeh said: "The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, will ascend the United Nations platform, where, for the first time, the painful memory will be commemorated in the international body, and his sovereignty will present, on behalf of 14 million Palestinians, an account of the narration of the original land owners, victims of the Nakba in 1948, and refute the false and false Israeli narration." .

He pointed out that the Nakba is a crime that extends over 75 years, and our people are still paying the bill of aggression from their blood and living flesh, and we are continuing to struggle to recover their rights, and to thwart the expansionist Zionist colonial project.

He added, "Our people are still offering martyrs and blood throughout the homeland, in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and in the Gaza Strip, the latest of which is the victims of the barbaric Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which left 33 martyrs, including children, women, and the elderly, and hundreds of wounded and homeless people who were demolished." their homes and lost their homes.

And he continued: "On the seventy-fifth anniversary, our people proved that even if the adults died, the young ones do not forget, and after 75 years of the Nakba, we still believe and fight for the right of return. Return is an inherent right of our refugee people in all parts of the earth."

He said, "The time has come for the global conscience to awaken, and to start lifting the historical injustice that the Zionist movement and the international system inflicted on the Palestinian people. In the words of 14 million Palestinians, we say that we have been subjected to the largest massacre, the greatest injustice, and the largest theft and expropriation of property and property."

He pointed out that the United Nations had established a database for the property of Palestinian refugees, detailing the dispossession suffered by the Palestinian people, and documenting the property of every Palestinian. Copies of this database are available in some countries, but the original copy is deposited with the United Nations.

Shtayyeh addressed the world, saying: "A right has not been lost, behind which there are demands, and that every Palestinian has the right to demand verification of his property, and to file cases before international courts to restore their rights, while continuing our struggle to achieve the collective right of our people wherever they are."

He called for the need to unify all the forces of liberation, justice, peace, and equality in Palestine and in the world to confront colonialism, settlement, exploitation, injustice and racial discrimination wherever it may be.

Shtayyeh stressed that our people are struggling to end the Israeli occupation, and to embody the Palestinian state with sovereignty over its capabilities, with viable parties, with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of return for refugees.

The Council of Ministers, in partnership with the Supreme National Committee for the Commemoration of the Nakba, announced many activities that are launched today in the homeland and all over the world.

IKEA is investing about one billion euros to expand its activities in France

The Swedish furniture giant Ikea has announced its intention to invest an additional 906 million euros in France, between 2023 and 2026, to attract more customers and open a new logistics center near Toulouse, with new jobs that are "highly likely", management told AFP.

In total, the group will spend 1.2 billion euros over four years, according to a statement published Sunday, on the eve of Chose France, a summit of international investors chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron, held Monday in Versailles.

Of this amount, 377 million euros will be used from previously allocated investment funds that have not been fully consumed.

"We are investing in existing sites as well as in new ones," Johan Laurel, head of the Swedish IKEA Group in its French subsidiary, told AFP, in order to "make our offer accessible to as many people as possible," while "accelerating" sustainable development efforts.

France is our "third largest market" in the world, "we think we can grow more there," said Jesper Brodin, head of the holding company "Ingka", which includes most of the IKEA stores and accounts for more than 90% of the total turnover.

The furniture manufacturer, which employs 12,000 employees in France, plans to open a new logistics center in Toulouse in 2024, as well as a similar site in Lemay (in the French Yvelines region) in 2026.

"We don't have numbers today, but we will open new logistics sites and that will probably bring in new colleagues," Laurel said.

Zelinsky arrives in Britain.. and London pledges more military support

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in London on Monday, according to the British government, where he will meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who promised to deliver "hundreds" of anti-aircraft missiles and offensive marches to Kiev soon.

Zelensky's visit comes within the framework of a European tour that led him to Rome, Berlin and Paris, in which he is looking for an additional military pledge from his allies before the counterattack that his army is preparing against the Russian forces.

"The United Kingdom was a pioneer in providing us with additional land and air equipment. This cooperation will continue," the Ukrainian president said in a tweet, announcing his departure to London, which he had previously visited in February.

Zelensky is scheduled to meet Rishi Sunak at Checkers, the summer residence of the prime minister who just before the Ukrainian president's arrival announced new military aid to Kiev.

The United Kingdom will deliver to Ukraine "hundreds" of anti-aircraft missiles and offensive marches with a range of more than 200 kilometers.

And the Presidency of the Government said in a statement that these equipment will be delivered "in the coming months, as Ukraine prepares to strengthen its resistance to the ongoing Russian invasion."

Last week, the United Kingdom announced that it would provide Kiev with long-range Storm Shadow missiles.

"It is a defining moment for the resistance of Ukrainians in the face of the terrible aggression they did not choose," the statement quoted Sunak as saying.

"We must not let them down (...) It is in everyone's interest to ensure that Ukraine succeeds and that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's barbarism is not rewarded," he added.

On Sunday, France, where Zelensky met President Emmanuel Macron, pledged to train a number of Ukrainian battalions and equip them with dozens of AMX-10RC armored vehicles and light tanks, which are often used in reconnaissance missions.

In Berlin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed on Sunday his country's support for Kiev "as long as it is necessary" and announced a new military aid plan for Ukraine worth 2.7 billion euros, which includes many tanks, armored vehicles and anti-aircraft defense systems.

Scholz said that Berlin's support for Kiev amounted to 17 billion euros, the largest contribution after the United States.

On the other hand, no capital has talked about the delivery of combat aircraft, which Kiev insists on requesting.

On the anniversary of the Nakba, we do not need unity

Jerusalem Hadith

The fifteenth day of May coincides with the anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba, as a result of which a large part of our people were displaced outside their homeland, Palestine, and the establishment of the State of Israel on the ruins of our people as a result of an international conspiracy, led by Britain through the ominous Balfour Declaration, and then imposing its mandate on Palestine, and more accurately imposing its colonization. On Palestine and to pass the ominous promise, which is the establishment of a national home for the Jews on Palestinian land, so that the Zionist entity will be a spearhead in the region to preserve colonial interests in the Arab region and prevent the unity of the Arab world, because in its unity it constitutes a danger to the Western colonial countries, because it rejects colonialism and condemnation of the occupying state .

This occasion comes this year, and our people are going through difficult circumstances, whether inside historic Palestine, or in the land of diaspora in neighboring Arab countries and around the globe. In addition to the devastating division, which is on its way to turning into political and geographical separation, there are also conspiracies aimed at liquidating the cause of our people in particular. After the occupying state was able to occupy the rest of the Palestinian land in 1967 and what it is doing and has done in terms of building settlements in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, Judaizing the Holy City, annexing more lands and crimes committed against our people in terms of killings and arrests in broad daylight and in front of the world As a whole, without the occupying power receiving any punishment for these crimes against people, trees and stones.

Despite this, our people are steadfast on their land and reject all the obnoxious attempts of the occupation in order to force them to emigrate abroad so that they can confiscate more lands and expand settlements and establish more of them, bringing the number of settlers in the West Bank to more than one million settlers according to the plans of the occupying state, considering these as the line of defense The first is about the occupying state, as announced by more than one Israeli official, which encouraged and encourages herds of settlers to escalate their attacks and crimes against our people, their land, property, and sanctities, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On this occasion, what we most need these days is the unity of the Palestinian national ranks, to confront the conspiracies and liquidation challenges aimed at ending the conflict in the region in favor of the occupying state, headed by a government that is one of the most right-wing, racist and extremist governments.

Without the unity of the Palestinian national ranks, the liquidation plots will continue and our people will pay more sacrifices on the altar of their national cause, especially since the occupying state is exploiting this devastating division, feeding it and deepening it by all means in order to continue its attempts to liquidate the conflict in its favour.

Will the Palestinian leaders learn, and the interest of the homeland prevails over partisan and individual interests, and face the challenges unified, and rise to the level of field unity embodied and embodied by our people in all confrontations with the occupying state, without regard to which faction this or that citizen belongs to? On the contrary, these The field unit thwarted many of the occupation's plans, and the thing that our people lack is political and geographical unity. Is there any answer?

Operation Revenge of the Free People deepens the wounds of the Israeli deterrence force and undermines one of the conditions for preserving survival

Ahmed Issa

The Israeli occupation army launched a wide and complex military campaign dubbed "Shield and Arrow" on the Gaza Strip at dawn last Tuesday, corresponding to the ninth of May, by launching a surprise strike by a large squadron of warplanes targeting three residential houses in which three of the military leaders of the wing were present. The military movement of the Islamic Jihad Movement (Al-Quds Brigades), which resulted in the promotion of the three leaders and a large number of their family members, especially children and women.

After strenuous and arduous negotiations conducted by the Egyptian mediator, graciously, to reach a cease-fire agreement between Israel on the one hand, and the Islamic Jihad movement, which took the lead in the scene from A to Z, it was announced on Saturday, corresponding to May 13, that the two parties had agreed to a written formula for a cease-fire that would enter into force starting from the hour The tenth of Saturday night, and the formula that was leaked to the media showed Israel's acquiescence to the Palestinian condition by refraining from carrying out assassinations against Palestinian individuals, which shows Israel's retreat and breaking its arrogance, as the Palestinian negotiator considered it a red line, and no formula for a ceasefire can be reached without Israel's approval and commitment to it. , while the latter considered it a red line that cannot be negotiated.

Israel had announced through its spokesmen, government and army, and had informed some mediators that the Islamic Jihad movement was the only target of the operation for its responsibility for firing rockets into Israel following the death of the prisoner Khader Adnan on Wednesday, 3/5/2023 in his cell in a prison. Al-Ramla after 87 days of his hunger strike to protest his arbitrary detention.

In the media debate that accompanied the operation, many Israeli politicians, soldiers, media professionals, and experts in Israeli national security explained, within their propaganda campaign that is usually part of the military operation, that the aim of the operation is to restore the deterrence force that has been eroding not long ago, and to stop the situation The continuous destruction in Israeli society, as stated specifically by (Amos Yadlin), the former head of the Military Intelligence Division (Aman) and the former head of the Israel Institute for National Security Studies, on Friday, corresponding to May 12, and the separation of the fronts or arenas and the prevention of their unification, as specifically stated by the head of Former Military Intelligence Directorate, and current Managing Director of the Israel Institute for National Security Studies (Tamir Hayman) on Tuesday, May 9.

In its willingness to prevent the Islamic Jihad from inflicting losses on the army and settlers in its expected sure response to this assassination, Israel emptied the settlements in what is known as the Gaza envelope of residents, stopped traffic on the roads in the region, suspended studies and opened public shelters in many Israeli cities. Then the trains were stopped and the boarding and landing of civil aviation from Ben Gurion Airport was diverted to other airports in the north and south of the country.

For its part, the joint room of the resistance factions in Gaza began its missile response to Israeli cities and settlements 36 hours after the massacre was carried out within an operation it called “Revenge of the Free”, which did not stop the Israeli army only on a man and a half, as the Secretary-General of Hezbollah once said. Rather, the entire Israeli society stopped by a man and a text, as this delay in the response, which is considered a precedent in the history of the Palestinian responses to the repeated Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since 2008, increased the Israeli confusion because of the deception, surprise and change in military tactics it entailed.

Despite the Israeli success in assassinating more senior military leaders in the Al-Quds Brigades, which must be carefully examined by the Brigades and all the resistance factions in Gaza in order to address its causes, the Palestinian resistance, led by the Joint Room, over the course of the five days of confrontation rained down large areas of Israel with hundreds of Rockets that carry huge explosive heads, which resulted in deaths and injuries among the Israelis, in addition to causing great damage to many buildings and facilities, especially in the cities of the depth, and they also rained down hundreds of mortar shells on military sites in the areas adjacent to the Gaza Strip. Video clips showed that it attacked army patrols and vehicles with Kornet anti-tank missiles.

Now that the cease-fire has been announced, has Israel achieved its stated goals? Has corroded deterrence restored? Did it stop the growing destruction in Israeli society? Did it stop the unity of the arenas, and did it create a rift between Islamic Jihad and Hamas? Is the jihad movement isolated from Palestinian society?

In its attempt to restore deterrence, deterrence as a comfoam means bringing the other side to a state where it loses its ability not to respond to the first strike it receives, or even to think about a response, and in this regard, the retired general of the Israeli army and principal researcher at the Israel Institute for National Security Studies (Asaf Orion) said On the evening of Tuesday, May 9, during a podcast meeting with another group of principal researchers at the institute, Israel has three options to restore deterrence. It is excluded because Israel is not ready for it now, and the second option is to strike Hamas because it is the party that has sovereignty over Gaza, and this is an unlikely option and threatens to expand the confrontation, which does not serve the interest of Israel, and the third option is to strike the Islamic Jihad because it is the weakest party among these three parties, in addition to being the responsible party Directly about the firing of missiles at Israel a week before the start of the military operation.

At this point, I argue that the mere resorting of Israel to this trade-off to restore eroding deterrence means that the deterrence force, which is considered the main pillar on which national security is based, has reached an inability to be addressed by conventional means, first because of the lack of asymmetry in power between Israel, the nuclear superpower, and a faction. A small Palestinian, and secondly, because this faction, despite its small size compared to the State of Israel, had the upper hand in the last confrontation and that its leadership was not deterred and took the initiative to respond after absorbing the first strike, and thirdly, in addition to the great destructive power of the missiles that were used, it put Iron Dome out of service and reduced its success to 20%.

In its attempt to invest the process in stopping the continuous destruction of Israeli society, I argue in this article that the result is the opposite, as protest demonstrations will return to the streets starting next week, and the government coalition will witness new tensions over Israel's submission to Palestinian conditions, and we will witness a lot of attack and censure against the government and Netanyahu personally. on the pages of local newspapers and through social media, especially since instead of the process increasing the level of security among citizens in Israel, it increased the level of anxiety and fear and confirmed that the upcoming confrontation (which we pray to God not to happen, and that the Zionist leadership and its partners from the West acknowledge failure their colonial project in Palestine), in which the rate of destruction and killing will be much higher than in the current round.

As for its attempt to disperse the arenas, prevent its unity, and isolate the Islamic Jihad movement from its incubating environment, it should be noted here that since the announcement of its establishment in 1948, the first founders of the state understood that it was the building of Israel’s geographical area, the extension of its borders, its lack of geographical depth, and the small number of its population compared to the number of its Palestinian and Arab enemies. Due to its limited natural resources compared to its security needs, the most important condition for preserving existence is to prevent the Arabs from uniting in a single military force, and also preventing them from waging a war on multiple fronts simultaneously, but also preventing them from initiating a coordinated war of attrition on more than one front.

It is true that Israel succeeded in dispersing the Arabs, especially in neighboring countries (Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon) from uniting in a single military force since its establishment until the beginning of the new millennium through many means, most notably diplomatic means. However, since the emergence of the concept of unity of arenas, Israel has been trying to prevent this concept from becoming Indeed, declaring that it is targeting Jihad in its recent aggression against Gaza and not targeting Hamas is an attempt to re-activate the condition of preserving presence, which failed by managing the operation (Revenge of the Free) through the common room that included everyone, even if it seemed that Islamic Jihad had topped the scene. alone.

Israel and Islamic Jihad and a new round

Khaled Khalifa

Khaled Khalifa

Opinion Writer

The assassination of the three Palestinian leaders, and after them the others in Gaza, at the start of the Israeli military campaign against Islamic Jihad, was a premeditated and clearly planned act aimed at obtaining personal and political gains for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He confused the Palestinian reaction in the middle of last Ramadan, when Ben Gvir and the Trustees of the Temple then stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Which led to a response to it by Hamas and jihad from the Lebanese border and the Gaza Strip, and Netanyahu was forced at the time to stop the incursions and allow Muslims to pray and observe i’tikaaf in the last ten days in the blessed month of Ramadan, then Netanyahu said that he would allow the Palestinians to pray, but he did not reveal his intentions and how He will respond to them after the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Indeed, the response was on the night of the eighth of May, when he announced his orders for a simultaneous assassination targeting the leaders of the Islamic Jihad.

This caused a shock among the Palestinians, especially among the Islamic Jihad movement, as they waited for the response and did not launch it directly by firing rockets at Israel, as was the custom in the past.

And the Israeli street waited for a response for more than forty hours, then Israel targeted other leaders, which prompted jihad to respond on the Israeli side, and then a fierce battle began between the two parties, in which tens of thousands of residents of the south were evacuated to the rear areas, and Israel bombed many sites In the Gaza Strip, a hit-and-run battle began between the two parties, and immediately after that, the Egyptian side entered the negotiation line, which tried to reap the price, but it did not succeed much. It has become clear that Israel basically wants to stop the Palestinian bombardment of its populated areas in the area surrounding Gaza from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the area adjacent to them. As for the Palestinian side, it has enumerated its demands related to stopping the assassinations and returning the bodies of the detained Palestinians, members of the Islamic Jihad and others.

Whatever it is, if we want to enumerate the losses and gains for the two parties, we can look at this with a pragmatic vision for the two parties. On the level of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he was able to give the impression to the Israeli street that he is a prime minister who does not forget what Hamas relied on when Israel bombed from the Lebanese border and takes revenge on the Israelis even after For a long time, the theory of deterrence that he pursues is equal to that of his ally in the government, Itamar from Ghfir.

The journalist, Michael Shemesh of Channel 11, revealed that the political commentator, Yaakov Berdugo, has a good relationship with Netanyahu, and he instructed him to take political steps similar to Ben Gvir with regard to these assassinations, but without Ben Gvir participating in the decisions of the government cabinet, and indeed this What happened and despite the fact that the campaign and its background on Gaza has not ended, we see another achievement, which is the support of the protesters for this operation, who are holding weekly protests and demonstrations against this campaign, and claiming that the Israeli army reserve pilots affiliated with these protesters are the ones who carried out the assassinations in the Gaza Strip.

Which strengthens the state of Zionist consensus in Israeli society and all this at the expense of the Palestinians, but these protesters are not satisfied with that process, but rather they want Netanyahu to surrender with a clear surrender and to cancel the constitutional reforms that he proposed, and we will see that very soon, and if this is not done, then instability and disagreement They will continue in Israeli society.
As for the dispute with the Palestinians, it will increase more and more. Although the Islamic Jihad was unable to form a multi-axial front, as many Israelis say, it caused a rift in the theory of deterrence and in the decisive Israeli response against the Gaza Strip. Since the war did not stop, and the Palestinians did not demand a cease-fire through negotiations with the Egyptian side, as expected by the Israeli side.

The harshness and brutality of the Israeli response and the targeting of civilians were also evident, as more than twenty civilians were killed, most of whom were children who were sleeping in their homes. On the other hand, the Palestinians did not target Israeli civilians, as the Israelis did, as Israel evacuated huge strategic areas adjacent to the borders with the Gaza Strip, especially In the southern region and the cover of Gaza, the movement of work in the center area and its environs was paralyzed, so that Israel announced, through the analyzes of Israeli journalists, that it is not based on a long-term war and a war with multiple axes and fronts, as its analysts claim.

There is a complete collapse of Netanyahu's idea and strategy of waging war against Iran, Lebanon and Syria at the same time, so that Israel is not included in Iran's calculations. It is included in these momentary calculations, and it is sufficient for it to be exhausted by the conflict with the Palestinians.

US National Security Adviser Jack Saliban visited Saudi Arabia last Friday, May 5, with the aim of meeting with Saudi officials and developing normalization relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel, but he waited two days in Jeddah until Sunday, May 7, until Mohammed bin Salman met him for this. The purpose and did not achieve any actual result, so he left empty-handed from there, and the next day Biden's envoy in the Middle East met with Netanyahu for this purpose to inform him of that, but Netanyahu carried out the assassination on the same night, which dispelled all American endeavors.

Likewise, the American side did not stand in the way of Netanyahu with regard to the killing of Palestinian children and civilians in Gaza, and contented himself with calling for an end to the Israeli operation.

With regard to the requests of the Islamic Jihad movement from the Israeli side related to stopping the assassinations, it is difficult for Israel to implement this just Palestinian demand that is contrary to all international laws, since the policy of continuous continuation of the occupation is based on building prisons and placing Palestinian prisoners in them continuously, and continuing with raids and assassinations. If it is willing to sign such an agreement, we can see it decide to prevent the media march next week in Jerusalem and any Israeli incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestinian cities in the West Bank, and this is difficult to happen, and therefore the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues with full force.

And Israel should not give the impression that it can carry out regional strikes against other Arab countries, as its dispute with the Palestinians is sufficient for it for a long time.

Abdel Nasser in the Palestine war

Abdullah Al-Senawy

Abdullah Al-Senawy

Opinion Writer

After 75 years of the Palestine war, the necessity of reviewing appears again, so that the facts can be ascertained with as much documentation as possible, so that we know what exactly happened? Why were we defeated in 1948?

This is a question of the present, not of history. From a political point of view, the entry of the Arab armies into the war in the manner in which it took place represented a certain defeat. Like most of the ruling elites, Egyptian Prime Minister Mahmoud Fahmy al-Naqrashi did not agree with the military intervention.

The opinion of Haj Amin al-Husseini - the Mufti of Palestine and the first spokesman for its people - was to assign the task of military confrontation to groups of volunteers and support them with weapons and money, provided that the armies remain stationary on the borders, alert and ready.

There was no semi-convergent political vision, nor a strategy that brought together the Arab armies.

In the military view, the defeat was attributed to two men:

The first is the Egyptian Major General Ahmed al-Mawawi, the leader of the Palestine Campaign. After the war, he tried to clear his name, revealing letters he wrote to his commanders protesting the sending of troops without adequate training or necessary weapons.

And the second - the English general John Bagup Gallup, who was entrusted with the general command of the Arab armies, and he was taking his instructions in the course of the war from London!

The young officer, Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was barely over thirty years old, arriving by military train to Gaza on June 3, 1948, could not have expected, or crossed his mind, that the experience of the war in Palestine would rule the broad lines of his directions and push him - after the cessation of its battles and return. Cairo - to rebuild the "Free Officers" organization again and form its constituent body, which appeared on the flaming political theaters on July 23, 1952.

Under the glow of the flames in Palestine, the course of his life changed once and for all. This is a fact that cannot be denied in light of what Gamal Abdel Nasser, Chief of Staff of the Sixth Battalion, recorded in his personal diary, which he wrote on a desk with a gas lamp above it during the Palestine War.

The most sincere thing attributed to a man is what he writes in his handwriting, expressing his feelings and observations at the moment of the event, without expecting that anyone will look at what he wrote, even after decades.

The diaries are closer to flashlights that illuminate the atmosphere of the Palestine war and confusion in it. There was no military preparation, strategic planning for combat orders, nor the slightest combat readiness for the Arab armies to enter Palestine.

In his handwriting, he recorded sharp and continuous criticism of a high degree of intensity and anger, for "there is absolutely no reserve from the platoon for the brigade... and there are no wires or any fortifications other than digging."

Before the start of the war, the Jewish Agency was able to mobilize 81,000 fighters, most of whom were officers who gained military experience during the years of World War II, while the combined numbers of the Arab armies were 37,000 officers and soldiers!

The number of aircraft in the possession of the Jewish forces, as it was called at the time, was 78 aircraft at the beginning of the war, while it did not exceed 30 aircraft on the Arab side.

The differences in arms were not hidden, or suddenly caught the decision-makers by surprise. According to what Professor Muhammad Hassanein Heikal reported in “Al-Arush wa al-Jawish,” a two-part reference book that is important in terms of its documentation, as it includes a complete record of Egyptian military telegrams during the war, the facts announce themselves. The telegrams paint a complete picture of the battlefields, its championships and its failures.

Surprisingly, it has not yet been studied with the attention it deserves, scrutiny and comparison with the documents of the other side in the war.

The Journal of War is usually the most complete historical document, for a picture of the battlefield and the political backgrounds connected to it.

“The War Diaries,” its publication was delayed for decades until near the end of the twentieth century, as happened in the written diaries of Gamal Abdel Nasser.

Both times he kept his deposits before he decided to publish them, the first time - by his decision to put their documents in the custody of history and researchers.. and the second time - at my insistence so that the full picture becomes clear. And his belief was - as he told me: "Every publication has its time."

The worst thing that has been written about the 1948 war is its defeat attributed to Abdel Nasser! This was a deliberate ignorance of the reasons for political revenge and the consolidation of defeat in the public conscience.

The 6th Battalion, trapped in Fallujah, was not ready to surrender, emphasizing fighting to the last man, according to the official cables.

In his handwriting, he wrote on October 28, 1948: "...we will resist to the last man...". That categorical statement of a young fighter - due to her anger - is almost the real beginning of his whole story, as if it were an early point of enlightenment in a long fictional text.

The Palestine war, with its heroics, sacrifices, and pains, and what it revealed of the dysfunctional conditions in the leadership of the army and the leadership of the country, was the first mover of what happened in Egypt after less than four years, with the overthrow of the entire regime. In agreement with the Gulf

A month after the war in Sudan, there is no way out on the horizon

Before the war, Sudan was mired in political and economic chaos. After a month of battles between the forces of the two generals fighting for power, the country is threatening to collapse, which raises the concern of neighboring countries amid the crises that they themselves suffer from.

The war between the army commander, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the commander of the Rapid Support Forces, Lieutenant General Muhammad Hamdan Dagalo, left more than 750 dead and thousands wounded, in addition to nearly a million displaced persons and refugees.

Across Sudan, one of the poorest countries in the world, 45 million people live in fear and suffer from food crises bordering on hunger.

A third of the country's population, who before the war depended on international food aid, is now deprived of it. The stores of humanitarian organizations have been looted, and many of these organizations have suspended their work after the killing of 18 of their employees.

Liquidity became scarce. Banks, some of which were looted, have not opened their doors since the fifteenth of April, while prices have risen sharply, reaching four times for foodstuffs and 20 times for fuel.

The five million residents of Khartoum live in hiding in their homes, awaiting a cease-fire that has not yet been achieved, while air raids, battles with heavy weapons and artillery fire continue that do not even reach hospitals and homes.

In Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the two sides are holding talks about a "humanitarian" ceasefire to allow civilians out and aid to enter.

But so far they have only agreed on humanitarian rules on evacuating civilians from combat zones and providing safe passage for aid.

Researcher Ali Faraji says, "If the two parties do not change their way of thinking, it is difficult to imagine a real translation on the ground of the commitments they sign on paper."

Experts and diplomats repeat that both generals are "convinced that they can resolve the matter militarily."

And each of them has a large number of men and great support from abroad, as Daglo is a great ally of the Emirates and enjoys the support of the mercenaries of the Russian Wagner Group, while neighboring Egypt throws its weight behind Al-Burhan.

This makes the two generals prefer a long-term dispute to making concessions at the negotiating table in order to reach a settlement.
In fact, every time they pledge to a ceasefire, they violate it from the first minutes.

Alex Rondos, former EU representative for the Horn of Africa, said, "The army and RSF regularly breach the truce, demonstrating an unprecedented degree of impunity, even by Sudanese standards for the conflict."

Sudan has known many conflicts. In Darfur, the repression of ethnic minorities at the turn of the millennium during the era of Omar al-Bashir (1989-2019) by the army forces and the then allied Dagalo forces resulted in 300,000 deaths and the displacement of more than 2.5 million people.

The region is still unstable today. And with the outbreak of war between the two generals in Khartoum, everyone is fighting in the western region of Sudan, the army, the Rapid Support Forces, tribal fighters, and armed civilians.

"We are getting reports that snipers are shooting at anyone who goes out of their house," Mohamed Othman of Human Rights Watch told AFP.

He added that "people who were wounded in battles two weeks ago are dying in their homes" because they cannot leave.

Doctors Without Borders says that the Darfur displaced in the camps "are now eating one meal a day instead of three meals."

The United Nations has warned that hunger will affect 19 million Sudanese within six months, if the war continues.

Every day, thousands of refugees enter Egypt, Chad, Ethiopia and South Sudan, which are the border countries with Sudan, which raises the concern of Cairo, which is experiencing the worst economic crisis in its history, while other countries fear that the contagion of war will spread to their rebel movements.
There is no longer an airport in Khartoum, nor foreigners after they were all hastily evacuated in the first days of the fighting, nor commercial centers, as they were all looted.

Government departments were also closed "until further notice," and the two generals only spoke to exchange accusations through the media.
The remnants of the state moved to Port Sudan, 850 kilometers east on the Red Sea coast.

There, a small United Nations team seeks to negotiate the passage of humanitarian aid, and some ministers and senior officials hold daily press conferences in which they are keen to send messages of reassurance.

"With the destruction of food processing plants or small factories, this war caused a partial decline in industrialization in Sudan," Faraji told AFP.

"This means that Sudan will become a poorer future for a long time," he added.

The memory of the first martyrs of the captive movement, the martyr Abdul Qadir Abu al-Fahm

Yasser Abu Bakr

Opinion Writer

In the year 1969, the occupation government established Ashkelon prison to be a place where the prisoners of the Palestinian resistance are disciplined - as they put it - and for that purpose it pursued a policy of repression, terror, beating with batons, and forcing the prisoners to extremely humiliating procedures, which made their lives in prison harsh and bitter.

On May 5, 1970, the revolutionary human will exploded in this prison to announce the prisoners' uprising against the decisions of the occupation government and its prison administration, rejecting the policies of abuse and torture against them.
This uprising was led by the first pioneers of the captive national movement, the martyr captive Abd al-Qadir Abu al-Fahm, the martyr liberated captive Abu Ali Shaheen, and the martyr captive Omar al-Qasim. .

Despite his poor health and being wounded by several bullets in one of his military operations, the imprisoned fighter Abd al-Qader Abu al-Fahm refused to excuse him from participating in the hunger strike, and insisted on participating despite his wounds, advancing the ranks with a solid will.

The prison administration, at the time, resorted to the most heinous methods of repression and abuse, with the aim of ending the prisoners' strike, and affecting the prisoners' determination and steadfastness, which was the strongest pillar in this battle.

On May 11, 1970, Abu al-Fahm’s health condition deteriorated, and the prison clinic conspired against him and prevented him from any kind of treatment. The hero, Abu al-Fahm, rose to martyrdom, opening, with his brave departure, the door to progress for the hunger of the prisoners who bore the covenant of blood and loyalty to the martyrs in their hearts as a beacon that lit the march of struggle, struggle, and resistance. For generations to come on the path of liberating the homeland.

The martyr Abdel Qader Abu al-Fahm was born in the village of Berber in Palestine in 1929. He immigrated with his family in 1948 due to the catastrophe and displacement, to reside as a refugee in the Jabalia camp in the Gaza Strip. He married and had two children, Fathia and Hatem.

In 1953 he joined the Egyptian forces and obtained several military courses, and when the formation of the Palestine Liberation Army began, he was "Abu Hatem" the officer in charge of the Khan Younis Training Center, and he fought the wars of 1956 and 1967, where he was part of the Thunderbolt Battalion that fought fiercely, and in one of his battles in 1969 he was wounded He was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment by the Israeli occupation authorities. The captive martyr, Abd al-Qadir Abu al-Fahm, is considered the first Palestinian prisoner to die during the open hunger strike in the occupation prisons.

This memory comes to remind us that the account with the occupation has not yet been closed, and that it increases every day with every martyr, prisoner, and wounded.

The suffering of the prisoners did not stop at just leaving them in prisons for long years, to the extent that there are more than (400) prisoners in the occupation prisons whose years of detention exceeded twenty years?! Since 1967, 236 prisoners have been martyred in these prisons, a number that can rise at any moment. Prisoners who are sick with chronic diseases are lethal if not treated properly, which of course is what happens in occupation prisons under the pretext of medical negligence. Their number has exceeded (600) prisoners, not to mention the chilling crime of holding the bodies of the martyred prisoners and continuing to imprison them in prison behind bars while they are lifeless corpses, their number has reached (13) until now, our fellow prisoners even after they passed away from us, and they remained in our hearts and minds They are still physically under chains, and they are the martyrs, the captive heroes:
1- Anis Dawla, whose body has been held since 1980
2- Aziz Owaisat, whose body has been held since 2018
3- Fares Baroud, whose body has been held since 2019
4- Nassar Taqatqa, his body has been withheld since 2019
5- Bassam Al-Sayeh, his body has been held since 2019
6- Saadi Al-Gharabli, his body has been withheld since 2020
7- Kamal Abu Waar, whose body has been held since 2020
8- Sami Al-Amour, his body has been withheld since 2021
9- Daoud Al-Zubaidi, his body has been held since 2022
10- Muhammad Maher Turkman, whose body has been held since 2022
11- Nasser Abu Hamid, whose body has been held since 2022
12- Wadih Abu Ramuz, his body has been held since January 2023
13- Khader Adnan, his body has been withheld since May 2023

Send to my jailers the story of my pride *** in letters of glory and peace is my beginning
Even peace if you start it with regret *** Peace is with our religion and with my face
Do not think that shackles were shackled *** Do not think that imprisonment is the weakest of my strength
The shackle is a chain that adorns my wrist *** And prison is a school that increases my fear
And if you think the whips humiliate me *** then the weakness is in you and my will is steadfast
Struggle, for the spirits are not shackled *** The soul is not shackled and my revolution
And if our blood flows with your whips *** The blood will prevent my humiliation

We do not remember the martyrs in order to honor them, for He honored them from His generosity that does not run out. The Most Generous, Glory be to Him in the Most High, named Him, and He made them rejoice in what they were given of bounty, and He is of great bounty. Rather, we remember them so that we do not forget that we are still under a brutal and merciless occupation, an occupation that was and still is the reason. Behind all our pains, torments, and wounds that do not heal, there is an occupation whose time has come for its departure from us. We reject it as resistance, martyrs, prisoners, and wounded, and the land rejects it, expels it, and expels it because it is a pure land in which the martyrs are purified. ?! Then what mask can today hide behind the ugliness of the occupation and the ugliness of its crimes and massacres, and its impurity?!

We remember the martyrs so that we do not forget that this world is a neglectful world that does not do justice to the oppressed, does not protect the victim, but rather stands insolently to support the oppressor against the oppressed and the perpetrator against the victim, and to utter ornate words in the corridors of the United Nations, choosing them from among thousands of words and meanings from the dictionary of diplomacy and false democracy. , to issue a shy statement calling on both sides, the murderer and the murdered, to work together to stop the escalation and violence between them, as if the victim’s resistance to her rapist is not a right guaranteed by morals and religions, before any man-made laws. But what morals with the occupation?! The occupation has no morals and the occupation has no religion, and the occupation comes at the highest level of terrorism and organized crime.
This is the occupation, terrorism, and nothing else. Anyone who chooses to be neutral or dissociate himself from resisting it and striving to remove it once and for all is definitely an accomplice to this occupation and one of the war criminals of his army and the army of those who are silent about the truth.

Today, we remember a martyr among the thousands of heroic martyrs of Palestine, a martyr who dreamed of freedom from his prison, so he rose to the heights in it before he gained his freedom.

Today, more than ever, we are required to stop considering martyrs as mere numbers, because behind every martyr, prisoner, and wounded, there is a story of pain and pain, not a family or a family, but an entire people who are subjected to killing, looting, and persecution every day.

Moreover, it is not enough to tell the story at the moment of martyrdom and then remain silent, as silence here is a crime. Therefore, here comes the importance of following the transformation and the catastrophe that befell his family and his family, just as the importance of remembering these martyrs, even if every year, comes to remind us of the catastrophe and heroism in Palestine.

Then it is not permissible for us to remember a particular martyr without another with every year and commemorate his memory and merits to the exclusion of others. How many martyrs of a leader rose with him, other martyrs who were with him, so he and the other martyrs are remembered and remain in oblivion and on the sidelines, alive and dead. This is a shame and disgrace, all our martyrs were great Or young, whether they were leaders or soldiers, they are one in our custom, and all of them shed their blood to irrigate the riches of this country.

The Palestinian narrative that we defend without being crowned by the martyrs and prisoners, is an incomplete narrative, subject to rebuttal and refutation, for these people and their blood and suffering are the true witness to the massacres of the occupation, and the inhumanity of the occupation.

Palestine loves all men *** Be one or live in the graves
Be good to yourselves, O bones *** It will be written about you for all eternity
And for glory he embraced without returning *** so nothing is left but the cowardly vanity
A generation competes for heaven, and the next generation builds palaces
So be patient and patient, a child will be born *** trampling with the soles of the tyrants of the ages

Lessons from the battle of revenge of the free

Mustafa Barghouti

Mustafa Barghouti

Opinion Writer

After reaching the calm, and the end of the last battle that took place between the Israeli occupation government and the valiant Palestinian resistance, there are clear conclusions as the sun of qualitative developments, compared to recent similar confrontations, and the state of the Palestinian national struggle for freedom.

First, there is no way to confront the racist occupation government, and to deter its crimes, except through resistance on the ground.

The relationship between the Palestinian people and Israel is a state of clash, conflict and national struggle, after all recent governments have blown up the illusions of compromise with them.

Secondly, the two settler racist fascists belonging to the fundamentalist religious Jewish parties, Ben Gvir and Smotrich, represent a determined force in the Israeli government that is constantly pushing towards a comprehensive escalation, and is dragging Netanyahu with them towards very dangerous adventures. Finally, one of the most important motives for the aggression was Netanyahu's attempt to save his government from collapse, so that he would not end up in prison because of corruption cases, as well as an attempt to contain the opposition that supports him in every action against the Palestinians.

Third, Israel's plan to unilaterally impose calm on the Palestinians has completely failed.

In the sense that Israel tried to perpetuate the results of the Aqaba and Sharm al-Sheikh meetings, in which it was neither correct nor logical for a Palestinian party to participate, and its content, from Israel’s point of view, is that it can continue settler colonialism, annexation and Judaization of the West Bank, attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and religious sanctities, and arrests and assassinations against Palestinian militants without facing Palestinian resistance. And since the resistance did not participate in those meetings and rejected them, the Israeli attack came in an attempt to subdue the resistance, so the magic turned against the magician, and its great failure was that resistance to its plans would not only continue, but would escalate.

Fourth, Israel failed to split the ranks of the resistance and repeat its colonial strategy, by adopting the "divide and rule" approach by targeting the Islamic Jihad movement to isolate it and separate it from the other resistance forces. About the jihad movement.

Fifth, Israel has failed to separate the Palestinian arenas from each other, and to undermine its unity, just as its attempts to liquidate the resistance in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the interior, by striking the resistance in the Gaza Strip, have also failed.

Sixth, despite Israel's success in assassinating resistance leaders, the recent Gaza battle was accompanied by manifestations of Israeli military and intelligence failure, including its failure to anticipate the reactions of the Palestinian resistance, which managed the battle wisely and with scientific planning, without haste or emotional outbursts.

In addition to the repeated failure of the Iron Dome in confronting Palestinian missiles. Despite the huge disparity in military capabilities between the two sides, the clash wore an equal equal character, and the Palestinians demonstrated their courage and distinguished ability to resist, compared to what happened previously between the Israeli army and official Arab armies. Without a doubt, the failure of the Israeli defense and intelligence systems, including Iron Dome, will cost Israel many losses in terms of selling (and exporting) its weapons and systems, which lost during the battle not only an important part of its capabilities, but also its reputation.

Seventh, the Palestinian resistance, with its intelligence and the strength of its performance, was able to expose and expose Netanyahu's lies, maneuvers, and media theatrics. It seemed absurd and a subject of ridicule to the Israeli media itself, when it came out boasting that it stripped the Islamic Jihad of its capabilities, so that within minutes the missiles fell on the Israeli depth, including on the perimeter Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, in addition to Ashkelon, Sderot, and the settlements surrounding Gaza.

Eighth, the resistance in the Gaza Strip, as well as the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank, proved that the policy of assassinating leaders and resistance fighters is a failure, and it will not benefit the criminals who implement it. For every leader who is assassinated, ten people replace him, and for every martyr who resists, a hundred young men rush to take his place.

Ninth, the last battle confirmed what we have always known and confirmed, that there is no difference between the so-called Zionist opposition and the Israeli government when it comes to suppressing and oppressing the Palestinian people, as the opposition rushed to support Netanyahu with all its energy and supported him in passing racist laws against the Palestinian people who are facing One unified Zionist project that seeks to Judaize its homeland and liquidate its cause.

Tenth, Israel failed in its attempt to break the Palestinian deterrence force. Rather, it strengthened the approach of resistance and deterrence at the expense of the failure of the illusions of the negotiation project owners and waiting for a solution from the outside.

Eleventh, the battle revealed, more clearly than ever before, the extent of the fragility and weakness of Israeli society, and its inability to bear a long-term confrontation, due to its weaknesses represented in its extreme sensitivity to human losses, its sensitivity to economic losses, and its sensitivity to moral and ethical losses, and it has received blows in the each of these points.

There is no doubt that Israel is paying the price for its transformation into a luxury society that does not tolerate losses and sacrifices, and perhaps the published information about the presence of 700,000 Israelis abroad who refuse to return to Israel is an important indicator of that.

Twelfth, unfortunately, the Palestinian Authority seemed isolated and completely out of the picture, not only because it chose the path of distancing itself from engaging in the conflict, but also because of its wrong decision to participate in the Aqaba and Sharm el-Sheikh meetings, and its lack of response to national reconciliation efforts, including the failure to implement the Algiers Agreement. It was not a party to the ongoing resistance, nor a party to the truce talks.

Thirteenth, to the extent that the presence of the joint and unified operations room in the Gaza Strip was a decisive factor in thwarting the Israeli attack and plans, to the extent that the absence of a unified Palestinian national leadership adopting a national struggle strategy of resistance constituted a weakness factor that must be addressed, in order to translate the sacrifices of the Palestinian people And his valiant resistance to political results.
It was not the first battle of revenge for the free, and it will not be the last. It is a round of open conflict and struggle waged by the Palestinian people in order to achieve their freedom, end the occupation and overthrow all the system of apartheid and racial discrimination in all of Palestine.

Seventh clash round

Hamada Pharaohs

Hamada Pharaohs

Opinion Writer

Finally, after five bloody days, from the dawn of Tuesday 9/5/2023, until the evening of Saturday 13/5/2023, the seventh round of targeting the Israeli colony of the Gaza Strip, and the intended Islamic Jihad movement, has ended.

Since Hamas took control in June 2007, unilaterally, of decision-making and power, the colonial forces and their military and security tools carried out a series of bloody criminal rounds, according to their names, in the following years:

1- 2008-2009 Cast Lead.
2- 2012 Pillar of Cloud.
3- 2014 Protective Edge.
4- 2019 Black Belt.
5- 2021 Guardian of the Walls.
6- 2022 The Breaking of Dawn.
7- And finally, May 2023, shield and spear.

During which the people of Gaza paid heavy prices, appreciated leaders left, great sacrifices, and legendary steadfastness, in the face of the unjust and inhuman siege, and in the absence of real supportive levers.
At all the confrontational stations, a calm and cease-fire agreement is reached, with the absence of a Palestinian program that sets the required priorities, namely the demand:

1- By lifting the siege on Gaza and ending the state of impoverishment and starvation.

2- Presenting Gaza as a model for the people of Palestine, who managed to push the colonial forces to leave after dismantling the settlements and removing the occupation army bases from the entire Gaza Strip in 2005.

Who thinks outside the box, in order to set lifting the siege on Gaza as the desired goal and the necessary requirement, and then to make Gaza a model of pluralism, dignity, and resorting to ballot boxes in the management of institutions from university student councils, to trade unions, to municipalities, to other phenomena of broadening the base Partnership in the management of institutions, instead of exclusivity, unilateralism and dominant domination.

Did Hamas win this round?? After it proved that it strictly adheres to the truce decision, and does not violate it, by not participating seriously in the confrontation, and observers in the Gaza Strip confirm that the Popular Front alone lost a number of martyrs as a result of the bombing of a site it participated in the bombing of the colony’s sites in the areas 48.

The loss of the Islamic Jihad movement was exorbitant, with the assassination of its best military leaders, and despite the pain that befell it, but it refrained from expressing disagreement, recording public remarks, or directing criticism of those who practiced misleading under the roof of the joint operations room, which is a positive nominal phenomenon, but it was not effective. It was not serious, and it lacked credibility, and for this reason, the Secretary General of the Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala, did not mention it and did not address it. Thus, it lost the Islamic Jihad with unprecedented honor, pride, and pride.

A round of martyrdom is added to the course of the sacrifices of the Palestinian people, which indicates their non-compliance and the continuation of the path that truly leads in the end to freedom and independence.

A tour that can really be benefited from if the faction leaders were able to assess what happened, perhaps they would reach the importance of reading the colony’s ability in technology and aerial photography, because there are illusions that the penetration operations are the reason for the occupation forces being able to reach the positions of the jihad leaders, and the painful truth is that the capabilities of the colony Technology is the means used to reach their aggressive goals, to carry out their crimes.

The seventh round is not the last and it will not be, because the people of Palestine will not be complacent and will not be stingy in their giving, sacrifices and the legitimacy of their struggle towards achievement and victory, no matter how heavy the sacrifices are and how long it takes.

Five days of war on Gaza... What did Netanyahu achieve?

Hani Akkad

Hani Akkad

Opinion Writer

The sudden assassination in the early hours of dawn of three senior members of the Military Council of the Al-Quds Brigades affiliated with the Islamic Jihad movement ended something called the cease-fire understandings that Egypt had reached after a short round of confrontation following the assassination of the martyr (Khader Adnan) in captivity. This assassination was expected. And we were constantly warning about it. It was not expected in this way that the occupying power would target the residential apartments in which these leaders and their families reside, and thus eliminate them and their families, women and children, a well-planned and studied crime, but the occupation did not believe that the Islamic Jihad would delay its response for 34 hours, and it was expected To respond in time, and the confrontation lasts for a few hours and ends like a short confrontation in Gaza, and there are more of these short confrontations, as they exceeded fifteen short confrontations during the two years. The occupation was disappointed in its estimates, and its leaders in (Kiriah) waited 32 hours for the Islamic Jihad’s response with many questions about the reason for the delay in the response. The military experts did not reach an answer, which confused their calculations, but the Islamic Jihad adopted a new tactic in response, which is playing with the nerves of the occupier before the response, which was intense. And qualitatively and at different ranges, by a decision of the joint operations room of the Palestinian resistance, which confused the occupation’s accounts again and constituted a shock to its military system.

During the process of responding to the resistance's bombing of many settlements around the Gaza Strip in the various settlement blocs and Tel Aviv and its environs, Netanyahu wanted to perpetuate the policy of assassinations and prove it as an equation in this confrontation. Over the course of the five days and every new assassination, the Islamic Jihad Movement was responding with missile salvoes of various ranges, between short and medium, to reach even areas in (Etzion) south of Bethlehem. Weakening it and forcing it to stop incitement to carry out more revenge operations as a movement that is difficult to contain and submit to any understandings to stop the truce in Gaza. This is in addition to Netanyahu’s attempt to neutralize the jihad movement by settling scores with those he accuses of supplying the resistance brigades in Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarm, Balata and Hebron refugee camps with money and weapons.

On the Israeli domestic level, Netanyahu believed that by war on Gaza, targeting the Islamic Jihad Movement and killing many of its leaders, he could restore his fractured coalition and convince the opposition to unite around this coalition, thus ending the Israeli street protests that are worrying his coalition and threatening his extreme right-wing government. As for the political level in the affairs of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Netanyahu was and is still planning to break up the resistance front in Gaza and completely deviate from what is happening in the West Bank, in preparation for resolving the issue of Jerusalem through Judaization, settlement and displacement of Palestinian citizens in the neighborhoods of East Jerusalem. This is in addition to imposing Israeli sovereignty over large areas of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley, and thus More blows occur to the two-state solution plan, which is in its final breath, especially since the United States of America, the central countries, and the United Nations have not yet presented any initiatives to save the two-state solution. It is a tool in the hands of the occupation, nothing more.

Netanyahu's campaign against Islamic Jihad in Gaza failed, and thus he achieved nothing but failure. He hurried out after five days with minimal losses, after arduous negotiations by the mediators to prevent the scene from erupting and the war rolling into an all-out war in which Netanyahu would be forced into a military confrontation on more than one front. Now we can confirm that Netanyahu was planning for this round of fighting to be a short military operation that would bring significant results in terms of restoring calm, and thus he would say to his opponents and opposition and to the Israeli people that he had managed to weaken the Islamic Jihad movement, which incites terrorism, according to his claim, and thus his country would restore calm for a long time, but I believe that this will not be achieved according to Netanyahu's perceptions. He was unable to neutralize the Islamic Jihad movement and prevent it from supporting the resistance in the West Bank and continuing to resist the occupier. Yes, Netanyahu could come out the day after the fragile ceasefire to say that he had settled his scores with military leaders in Jihad who are behind the recent military operations in the West Bank, and that the Islamic Jihad movement needs a long time to rearrange its ranks and compensate for its loss, and this is what will preoccupy it from caring about the resistance file in the West Bank. bank, he believes.

The day after the cessation of the military operation on Gaza, the Israeli public and the opposition will discover how much lies Netanyahu practiced to portray to the Israelis that he achieved great results from this war, but it seems that the Israeli public is not deceived by such lies, as it knows that Netanyahu was the cause of the destruction of many From the buildings in the settlements, extending from the settlements of the edges of Gaza to (Holon and the mountains of Jerusalem), and it was the cause of paralyzing half of its country from the south to the center for five consecutive days, in addition to the refuge of more than 4.5 million settlers to shelters and the complete disruption of commercial movement, trains and transportation. The truth is that Netanyahu, with this military operation on Gaza, lost a lot, and the first loss was that he became a laughing stock for many leaders and opposition men, and the second is that he did not repair the deterrence system, which military experts know has increased cracks due to the skill of the Islamic Jihad administration for this battle on the ground, and to achieve deterrence to the occupation, the results of which will be known after any An assassination of any of the movement's leaders in the future, and he will know in return that the operation to weaken the jihad failed and that it also failed to distance the movement's men from adopting, supporting and backing the resistance in the cities of the West Bank as an important Palestinian front on the lines and circles of engagement with the Israeli occupation.

"Citizen's Rights" submits a petition to return money deposited by Palestinian detainees

The Association for Civil Rights submitted a petition to the Israeli Supreme Court against the head of the Civil Administration, asking him to return the money that the Palestinian detainees were forced to deposit as a guarantee for their release from detention, or as a guarantee of their compliance before the judicial bodies.

The association said: "The Civil Administration must return the bail money that the Palestinians were forced to deposit, which is estimated at tens of millions of shekels, despite the expiration of the terms of its detention."

She added, "The continued withholding of funds in the treasury of the Civil Administration is theft of the most vulnerable population, and is a serious violation of Palestinians' right to property, and their right to due process."

In its petition, the association also called for the publication of a public announcement in Arabic and Hebrew explaining to the public the issue of the initiative to return bail money, as well as the establishment of a fund for non-returnable funds, to be devoted to the well-being of the Palestinian population in the territories of the West Bank.

According to the association, the talk is about an amount of more than 50 million shekels belonging to Palestinian citizens that had accumulated in the treasury of the "Civil Administration", and it was required to return it according to the law.

According to lawyers Roni Bailey and Reut Shaer, who represent the Association for Civil Rights in the petition, “this behavior is contrary to the duty of the Civil Administration, under the rules of administrative law and international law.

And they affirmed, "Continuing to withhold money in the administration's treasury is nothing but a theft, and it is a serious violation of the right to own property and the right to appear before a fair procedure. It also constitutes gross discrimination against the Palestinian population, and an exploitation of the well-known and understood fear of the Palestinian population of going to the authorities." as stated in the petition.

Exciting details.. This is how the Jihad leaders were assassinated in Gaza!

On Monday, the Hebrew newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, published new details about the assassinations carried out by the Israeli army in its military operation that took place in Gaza in the past few days.

According to the newspaper, the opening strike, which shocked the Islamic Jihad movement after the assassination of 3 of the most prominent leaders of its military wing, was simultaneous, with a difference of only 4 seconds between each strike.

Those operations targeted Jihad Ghannam in Rafah, Khalil al-Bahtini and Tariq Ezzedine in Gaza City.

According to the newspaper, the unprecedented damage inflicted on the organization made it lose its ability to command and control.

The newspaper indicated that the operation lasted more than 116 hours, and included 4,000 flight hours in which various aircraft flew over the skies of the Gaza Strip, during which the Israeli Air Force dropped nearly 400 bombs, including 115 by drones, and 289 targets were attacked.

The newspaper says that after the Islamic Jihad launched rockets in the month of Ramadan after the events of Al-Aqsa, and until the start of the surprise operation last Tuesday, the movement’s senior leaders were under the supervision of the “Shin Bet” service, and the strike was postponed at least twice due to operational conditions, and the desire of the Israeli army to get rid of Senior Islamic Jihad leaders at the same time during normal days, in a surprise operation that maximizes the success of the operation.

The newspaper indicates that the Air Force preferred to attack the Jihad leadership from different sides, to surprise the specific concentrated targets.

And regarding the assassination of the leader of the Islamic Jihad, Ahmed Abu Daqqa, deputy head of the missile unit, the Israeli army said that it was behind all the rocket launches in the Gaza Strip during the past two years.

According to the Hebrew newspaper, when Abu Daqqa was assassinated, those in charge of the operation took into account that the building had no supporting walls, and therefore its roof would collapse on it without the entire building collapsing. Therefore, the operation was carried out with care and careful planning, just as the assassination of Tariq Ezzedine was carried out with careful planning as well.

Spanish Championship: Barcelona secured the 27th title in its history and the first since 2019

Barcelona secured the title of the Spanish League champion for the twenty-seventh time in its history and the first since 2019 on the land of its neighbor and host, Espanyol, by beating it 4-2, thus increasing the difficulty of his task to remain in the first division on Sunday in the thirty-fourth stage of the Spanish Football Championship.

Barcelona decided the outcome of the match in its first half by scoring a hat-trick, including a brace for its Polish international scorer Robert Lewandowski in the 11th and 40th minutes, raising its tally to 21 goals at the top of the scorers list, and a goal by defender Alejandro Balde is his first in the colors of the Catalan club (20).

The other French international defender, Jules Conde, strengthened Barcelona's lead in the second half with a fourth goal (53), while substitute Javi Boadu (74) and Joselu (90 + 2) scored the two goals of honor for the landowners (74).

Barcelona achieved the most important because it needed to win to clinch the title four stages before the end of the season, and had what it wanted, strengthening its position in the lead with 85 points, 14 points ahead of its traditional rivals, last season's champion, Real Madrid.

It is the second title for Barcelona, led by its coach, former international midfielder Xavi Hernandez, after the first in the local Super Cup competition earlier this year in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

On the other hand, Espanyol's task of survival became more difficult after its score froze at 31 points in the penultimate nineteenth place.
"It's a great feeling, (from) a job well done," Xavi's coach told Movistar after the match.

He added, "Ten months of work and sacrifice. The fans deserve it, the club. This gives us stability and security that things are going well. We concluded LaLiga with a great match, and we were shining."

Espanyol rushed from the start, but without danger to the German goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, while Barcelona was the most dangerous and almost opened the scoring early through Pedri, who received a ball on a plate of gold from French defender Jules Conde inside the area, and hit it with his right next to the right post (6) .

And Lewandowski succeeded in giving Barcelona the lead when he took advantage of a cross for his country from the left, and followed it up with his left knee from close range into the empty goal (11).

Baldeh added the second goal, taking advantage of a cross pass to Pedri, which he followed with his left into the empty goal (20).

Lewandowski almost added his second and third personal goal to his team with a powerful, creeping left-footed shot that goalkeeper Pacheco pushed to a corner (24), before he did it in the 40th minute after a cross pass by Brazilian Rafinha from inside the area, followed by his left into the empty goal (40).

The former Barcelona international striker, Martin Braithwaite, wasted a golden opportunity to reduce the difference when he received a ball inside the area, which he prepared for himself, and hit it powerfully, which Ter Stegen sent to a corner that did not bear fruit (45).

Condé strengthened Barcelona's lead with a fourth goal with a header from close range, following a cross by Dutch international Frenkie de Jong (53).

Ter Stegen saved his goal from the goal of honor for the guests by blocking a powerful shot by substitute Javi Boadu (70).

Boadu succeeded in his second attempt when he received a ball behind the defense and Peter Stegen singled it out before playing it falling from outside the area into the empty goal (74).

Joselu scored the second goal in the second minute of stoppage time, taking advantage of a rebound with the left post.
Elche, who finished last and first to be relegated to the second division, served Real Madrid when they beat Atletico Madrid 1-0.

Videl scored the only goal of the match in the 41st minute.

It is only Elche's fourth win this season and it came only two weeks after it was officially relegated to the second division after losing to Almeria 1-2 in the last stage.

Elche stopped a series of three consecutive victories for the second pole of the capital and inflicted the seventh loss this season, providing a great service to the Royal Club by depriving Atletico of regaining second place.

Atletico Madrid snatched second place from Real Madrid by defeating Cadiz 5-1 and losing Real Madrid to Real Sociedad 2-0 in the last stage, but the men of Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti regained their position by beating Getafe 1-0 on Saturday and losing the men of Argentine coach Diego Simeone today. .

Atletico Madrid fell to third place with 69 points, two points behind Real Madrid and 13 points behind leaders Barcelona, who has the chance to win the title if it beats its neighbor and host Espanyol later.

Simeone said in a press conference after the match: "We made some mistakes, they were sharper than us and played a good match. We started badly, and when we had chances to come back to the score in the second half, we were not realistic."

He added, "I want to congratulate Elche for the commitment shown by its players despite their relegation to the second division, this is the beauty of football. They managed to score the goal that we gifted them. We have four matches left to secure a place in the Champions League, which is also an important goal and difficult to achieve year after year." general".

And Valencia breathed a sigh of relief by defeating Celta Vigo 2-

1
Valencia scored early, specifically in the eighth minute, by Dutch striker Justin Kluivert, and Swiss international Haris Seferovic equalized for Celta Vigo at the beginning of the second half (60), before Alberto Mari snatched the winning goal for the guests two minutes before the end of the regular time.

Valencia's Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista was sent off in the third minute of stoppage time by receiving a second yellow card.

Valencia took advantage of Almeria's loss against Osasuna 1-3 on Saturday, and Cadiz against Real Mallorca 0-1 on Friday at the opening of the stage, and Getafe against its host Real Madrid, with the same result yesterday, so it got rid of the eighteenth place, rising to the fourteenth, with 37 points, enhancing its chances of survival.

On the other hand, Celta Vigo suffered its third consecutive and fifteenth loss this season, so its balance froze at 39 points in thirteenth place.

And Seville continued its impressive results, led by its new coach, Jose Luis Mendelibar, when it beat its host Valladolid 3-0.

It is the sixth victory for Seville in eight matches led by Mendilibar, against the backdrop of the dismissed Argentine Jorge Sampaoli, in La Liga (he drew once and lost the same), so he rose to the tenth place with 47 points, with a difference between the two direct confrontations behind Osasuna the eighth and the winner over Almeria 3-1 on Saturday, with a difference The same against Athletic Bilbao, who suffered a humiliating loss at home to Villarreal 1-5 on Saturday as well.

Seville prepared well to host Juventus next Thursday in the second leg of the Europa League semi-finals, after imposing a 1-1 draw in the first leg in Turin, and it was just around the corner from returning with a Gal victory had it not been for the equalizing goal scored by the old lady's team in the last minute of time. overtime.

England Championship: Manchester City is one win away from the title after Arsenal fell

Manchester City is one victory away from crowning the title for the third time in a row and the fifth in the last six seasons, with its outright victory over its host Everton 3-0, and the loss of its direct chaser Arsenal at home against Brighton, with the same result, Sunday, in the thirty-sixth stage of the England Football Championship.

City raised its tally to 85 points, compared to 81 for Arsenal, who played one more match, and only two matches remain for the last. Even if he wins them, he will raise his score to 87 points, while City needs a victory in the last three matches to secure the title, or perhaps to two points, given his superiority by 20 goals over Arsenal. .

At Goodison Park, Manchester City raised its winning streak to 11 in a row, after defeating its host Everton by three.

For the second time in a row, German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan led Manchester City to victory. After his double against Leeds last week, he repeated the same scenario in today's match, while the giant Norwegian striker Arling Haaland scored the other goal.

Haaland strengthened his position at the top of the scorers list with 36 goals.

Manchester City is preparing to face Real Madrid in the second leg of the semi-finals at the Etihad Stadium next Wednesday, after the two teams drew 1-1 in the first leg.

Manchester City also reached the FA Cup final, where it will meet its neighbor Manchester United on June 3 at Wembley Stadium, and thus has the possibility of achieving a rare treble that only Manchester United in 1999 preceded in England.

Spanish City coach Pep Guardiola rested some of his key players, most notably Belgian playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, Portuguese winger Bernardo Silva and Jack Grealish, and replaced them with Argentine striker Julian Alvarez, Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden.

Everton, threatened by the specter of relegation, held out for 37 minutes before conceding the first goal, when Mahrez passed a perfect cross into the area, which Gundogan controlled and winked with a wonderful technical movement into the net.

Soon, Gundogan turned from a scorer to the owner of the decisive pass, from which the second goal for City came by Haaland, who raised his head above everyone else and deposited it in the net (39).

In the second half, Gundogan added his team's third goal from a direct free kick, which he cunningly hit against English international goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (51).

And at the Emirates Stadium in north London, the hopes of Arsenal, who topped the standings for most of the season before their level declined in the final meters, to win the title for the first time since 2004 became very slim, with a big fall at home to Brighton with three clean goals.

And Arsenal paid the price for its decline last April when it scored only 3 points in four matches through three draws and a severe loss against Manchester City in particular 1-4.

Arsenal's Norwegian captain, Martin Odegaard, was asked if the dream of winning the title had finally vanished. He replied, "Yes, that is the feeling. We must be frank, it will be very difficult now. It is a heavy blow."

"The feeling is not good at the moment, it seems that there is no hope at the moment," he added.

As for Arsenal's Spanish coach, Mikel Arteta, he said about his team's chances of winning the title, "Mathematically, hope still exists, but we do not think about this matter. We have to digest this loss and analyze the offer we presented, especially in the second half."

"I have to apologize to our supporters because what we did in the second half is not acceptable," he added.

After the first half ended in a goalless draw with few chances for the two teams, the three goals were scored in the second and opened by the young Paraguayan striker Julio Enciso (19 years), who found himself unattended in front of the goal, so he followed a cross with his head easily into the net (51).

And Arsenal threw all his weight to turn the score in his favor, but his attacks were relatively shy before Brighton took advantage of the many spaces left by the Gunners' defense at the end of the match and added two goals, the first through German substitute Dennis Ondav, who took advantage of a wrong pass from the Belgian Leandro Trossard, and hit it over Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale ( 85), and the second by Ecuadorian left back Pervis Estobian III in the sixth minute of stoppage time.

In another match, Brentford defeated its London neighbor, West Ham, with two clean goals scored by Cameroonian Brian Mbomou (20) and Congolese Yoan Wissa (43).

The stage ends on Monday with Leicester City meeting Liverpool.

Italian Championship: Monza drops champion Napoli, and Juventus consolidates its second position

Monza dropped Napoli, who was crowned Italian soccer champion 10 days ago for the first time since 1990, by beating it 2-0 on Sunday in the thirty-fifth stage.

Monza advanced with a goal by Danny Motta after 18 minutes, after a wonderful joint game, and Andrea Petagna, Napoli player last season, added the second goal against his former team (53), and finally settled the result in favor of his team.

Monza is in his first season in the league and is currently ranked ninth.

Napoli played the match with its backup squad for the most part, after securing the third title in its history, after an exceptional season in which Nigerian scorer Victor Osimhen and Georgian winger Khvica Kvaratskhelia starred.

On the other hand, Monza entered the match having only lost once in the last 11 league matches.

In the battle for the European seats, Roma wasted two valuable points by falling into a tie trap with its host, Bologna, and thus failed to take advantage of its fourth neighbor, Lazio, with Lecce, 2-2, on Friday at the opening of the stage, and the loss of Milan V in front of its host Spezia 0-2, and Atalanta in front of its host. Salernitana 0-1 Saturday.

Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho's men are preparing to face their German host Bayer Leverkusen, Thursday, in the second leg of the European League semi-finals (Europa League), noting that the Italian capital team advanced at home, Thursday, 1-0.

It is noteworthy that Roma did not win in its last five matches in the league (3 draws and two losses).

Juventus beat its penultimate guest, Cremonese, with two clean goals.

Juventus increased its score in second place with 69 points, 3 points ahead of Inter III, but the most important thing is that it also moved away by 8 points from fifth-place Milan.

Juventus is still at risk of withdrawing points from it due to illegal financial activity on May 22, which was suspended on April 20 for re-evaluation, according to what the Italian Federation reported in the middle of this week.

In January, the Court of Appeal of the local association of the game imposed a 15-point deduction penalty for Juventus, according to sports justice, for regularly recording exaggerated capital gains in its accounts when selling some players.

But the Sports Guarantee Board of the Italian Olympic Committee, which Juventus resorted to, temporarily returned these points to the Bianconeri in April by requesting a review of the sanctions imposed on the club.

Returning to the course of the match, Juventus advanced with a goal through Niccolo Faioli, taking advantage of a pass from Federico Chiesa (55), before Brazilian defender Bremer added the second in the 79th minute.

French Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba played his first major match for more than a year, specifically since his former team, Manchester United, lost to Liverpool 0-4 in April 2022, in a match he did not complete after leaving with a calf injury after about a quarter of an hour.

Pogba missed the first division of the league after returning to Juventus and missed the World Cup finals after undergoing knee surgery.

His return to the stadiums was intermittent, if he played some matches as a substitute in late February before he was injured again and was absent from the stadiums for an additional period.

However, Pogba did not enjoy much, because the injury returned to him when he hit a powerful ball after 23 minutes had passed before he lay on the field. Juventus doctors tried to treat him at the level of the thigh, before he came out with his face hidden in front of the old lady's applause.

It was not known how long Pogba would be absent from the stadiums again, but it is likely that he will be absent until the end of the current season.

Juventus drew 1-1 at home against Seville, Spain, in the first leg of the European League semi-finals (Europa League) on Thursday, after the team led them with a goal before equalizing in the seventh minute of stoppage time before the return match between them next Thursday.

French Championship: Marseille regains its balance, and Clermont weakens Lyon's chances in a continental card

Marseille regained its balance by defeating its guest Angers 3-1, while Clermont-Ferrand weakened the chances of its guest Lyon in the competition for a qualifying seat for a continental competition next season, when it defeated it 2-1 Sunday in the thirty-fifth stage of the French Football League.

In the first match, Marseille succeeded in regaining its winning streak after losing to its host Lens 1-2 in the last stage, and turned the tables on its guest Angers, the first to be relegated to the second division 3-1.

Angers was the first to score through Senegalese striker Abdullah Sima (28), but the southern team responded with three goals for Chilean international Alexis Sanchez (34), Dimitri Payet (48) and Jordan Verito (77 from a penalty kick).

Marseille strengthened its position in third place, with 73 points, two points behind Lens, who beat Reims 2-1 on Friday, in the opening stage.

In the second, Lyon advanced through its captain and scorer Alexandre Lacazette in the 22nd minute, raising his tally to 25 goals, in second place on the scorers list, one goal behind Paris St.

Lacazette failed to snatch a deadly draw for his team when he failed to translate a penalty kick in the sixth minute of stoppage time, and Lyon suffered its eleventh defeat this season in the league.

Lacazette had scored a super hat-trick for Lyon against his guest Montpellier, including a penalty kick in the tenth minute of stoppage time, from which he scored the winning goal.

Lyon's balance froze at 56 points in seventh place, four points away from Lille, the last fifth-place finisher who qualifies for a continental competition, which tied negatively with its host Monaco.

The hopes of Monaco, who qualified fourth for the European League competition, “Europa League” next season, evaporated, in the competition for the second card that qualifies directly to the Champions League, after the difference between him and Lens the twelfth became ten points, and it made his task difficult to compete for the card that qualified for the third round of the continental competition. The difference between him and Marseille III is now eight points.

Rennes regained his balance and tightened the screws on Lille by honoring him and benefiting his guest, Troyes, with a clean four, which was alternately scored by the Belgian Arthur Thiet (14), Benjamin Borrego (65) and Cameroonian Carl Toko Ekambi (71 and 74).

Rennes raised its score to 59 points, one point behind Lille, while Troyes joined Angers and Ajaccio to the second round, after its score froze at 22 points.

The match saw Rennes pay tribute to the AFP journalist Armand Soldin, who was killed Tuesday in Ukraine, and who grew up in the club's ranks as a teenager.

The players and the public stood before the starting whistle in the "Roazon Park" stadium and applauded warmly, while the screens showed a picture of the journalist, who died at the age of 32.

And the club announcer announced, "With courage and commitment, he did not stop conveying to people the reality of an ongoing struggle," adding, "He is passionate about football and a loyal fan of the red and black team. He wore our shirt between 2006 and 2008."

For this occasion, the club invited about thirty of Söldin's relatives and family members residing in Rennes and friends who came to stand by them, including his sister who lives in the city of Mostar in Bosnia.

Brest strengthened its chances of survival by defeating its guest, Auxerre, with a single goal scored by Jeremy Le Douaron in the 69th minute.
Brest strengthened its position in fifteenth place with 38 points, four points ahead of Auxerre sixteenth.
Montpellier tied with Lorient with a goal by Vito Mawasa (90 + 4) against a goal by Roman Fever (68).

Toulouse also drew 0-0 at home to Nantes.

The Moroccan international Zakaria Abu Khalal (Toulouse) and the Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed (Nantes) missed the match because they refused to play in the rainbow colors of homosexual support.

And the newspaper "La Dipeche du Midi" stated that Abu Khalal, who plays in the squad regularly, refused to wear this shirt, after it had previously indicated that defender Logan Costa from Cape Verde and Algerian international midfielder Fares Chaibi, in turn, refused to wear the shirt, despite their appearance on Match sheet.

Chaibi entered in the 61st minute, in place of the Japanese, Ado Onayewu, while Koshta sat on the bench.

He was also absent for the same reason, the financial Musa Diarra and the Dutchman of Bosnian origin, Saeed Hamulic.

And AFP learned from sources close to Nantes club that Mostafa Mohamed refused to play in the same shirt.

Toulouse said in an anonymous statement that other players "expressed their disagreement with having their image associated with the colors of the rainbow representing the LGBT movement."

The club, which won the French Cup title the week before last, added, without specifying the names of the players involved: “Out of respect for the individual choices of the players, and after many exchanges of views, the club chose to exclude these players from the match.”

"Openness to the world is an integral part of the club's DNA," he said, stressing that the club "would finally like to recall its longstanding commitment to combating homophobia and all forms of discrimination."

And on the occasion of the annual campaign "Gay or Transgender, We All Wear the Same Shirt", this weekend all the first and second division players will wear a shirt embroidered with the colors of the rainbow, the same colors that are on the captain's armbands.

Stuttgart was the first to score through Guinean striker Serho Gerassi in the 57th minute from a penalty kick, and Bayer Erkusen equalized from a penalty kick, also for which Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Palacios successfully set out (70).

It is the third match in a row in which the men of Spanish coach Xabi Alonso fail to win the Bundesliga, so they fell to seventh place with 49 points, on goal difference behind Wolfsburg, who took sixth place from it by defeating Hoffenheim 2-1 on Saturday.

Leverkusen wished to return to the winning streak before hosting Rome, Italy, on Thursday in the second leg of the European League semi-finals, "Europa League", after losing to it 1-0 on Thursday at the Olympic Stadium in the first leg.

On the other hand, Stuttgart neglected the factors of the land and the public, and Schalke 04 lost to leaders Bayern Munich 0-6 on Saturday in order to get rid of the penultimate seventeenth place leading to the second degree.

Stuttgart was satisfied with one point, raising its tally to 29 points, one point behind Schalke 04, the sixteenth-placed club, which forces its owner to play a play-off with the third in the second division in order to survive, and two points behind his former partner in the seventeenth place, Bochum, who beat Augsburg 3-2. Can Israel be held accountable for its crimes in the Nakba?

75 years after the Nakba of Palestine and the crimes committed by the Zionist gangs, and then the leaders of those gangs declared the establishment of the State of Israel, many questions are raised about the possibility of holding Israel accountable for these crimes, as experts and human rights activists assert that these crimes do not fall under the statute of limitations as a global principle, but the dispute is in The possibility of holding the perpetrators of these crimes accountable. Can Israel really be held accountable for the crimes committed during the Nakba?

Omar Rahal, Director of the Human Rights and Democracy Media Center "Shams", said in an interview with Al-Quds.com: "As it is known, crimes do not fall under the statute of limitations, and the crimes committed by the Zionist gangs in the Nakba are a violation of international humanitarian law and the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions, and the hadith The possibility of holding Israel accountable for these massacres is important and possible.

Rahal indicated that accountability is possible in light of the confessions that were documented in audio and video, as happened in the movie Al-Tantura, and of their will.

As for the death of the perpetrators of these crimes, Rahal affirms that the occupying state bears the political, legal and moral responsibility, and is prosecuted as a matter of compensation for the crimes that were committed, and the rehabilitation of the refugees who were displaced from their homes, and the families of the victims, whose number in the Nakba reached more than ten thousand martyrs. .

According to Rahal, the occupying state can be held accountable through international human rights institutions by going to the International Court of Justice, and in order to establish the right of return, especially since the suffering of refugees is still continuing and they are unable to return to their countries from which they were expelled, and it is assumed that the occupying state will be held accountable for that. crimes.

Rahal stressed the international legal reference to the right to self-determination as an absolute right for all peoples and ethnic, racial, linguistic or cultural groups that are still suffering under the rule and oppression of colonial occupation, considering this right as a collective right guaranteed by many international covenants.

Rahal said: "The Palestinian people are still robbed of the right to self-determination, and they are still living through the Nakba, tragedy and suffering as a result of the identification and conspiracy of the colonial countries with the Israeli occupation state in robbing the rights and capabilities of the Palestinian people through a settler-colonial occupation of their land and national capabilities and the practice of the apartheid system against the Palestinian people."
