15 years since the black division

After his arrest for 17 years, the occupation releases the "Sheikh of the Prisoners" Fouad Al-Shobaki
Today, Monday, the Israeli occupation authorities released the "Sheikh of the Prisoners," Major General Fouad Al-Shobaki, from Gaza City, after 17 years of detention.
Al-Shobaki was transferred to the Tarqumiya checkpoint, in preparation for his transfer to Ramallah, where his family lives.
The Israeli occupation forces had kidnapped him in 2006 from Jericho prison, along with the Secretary-General of the Popular Front, Ahmed Saadat, in addition to their comrades, Ahed Abu Ghulami, Hamdi Qaraan, Basil Asmar, Majdi al-Rimawi, and Yasser Abu Turki.
The military court of the occupation sentenced him to 20 years in prison, which was later reduced to 17 years.
The Israeli Occupation Court had refused to consider his requests for early release, and the court, which was held in the city of Beersheba in occupied Palestine, said: Al-Shobaki still poses a real threat to the security of the occupation.
Al-Shobaki was born on March 12, 1940 in Gaza. He is a Palestinian politician and soldier with the rank of major general. A recent study reconsiders the role of the "love hormone" in basic life behaviors
Tokyo - (AFP) - Oxytocin is known as the " love hormone " for its primary role in romantic relationships between couples and in the care mothers provide for their children, but a recent study conducted on prairie mice reconsidered its role.
The study showed that despite the removal of the receptors associated with this hormone, the prairie mice were still able to establish strong paired relationships, as well as the females continuing to carry and care for their young.
Mice are one of the rare mammalian species whose paired bonds last a lifetime, which makes them very suitable for studies of similar topics.
In previous studies, the rats, after being given a drug that stopped the secretion of the hormone oxytocin, became lonely, while the females were unable to produce milk for their young.
Psychiatrist Devanand Manuli and neurobiologist Nirau Shah worked differently in this study, creating genetically engineered wild rats in a way that deprived them of the presence of oxytocin receptors in their bodies.
The result came as a surprise to them, as the genetically modified mice did not face any problem in mating with other mice of the same kind that had not undergone any modification, while the modified female mice had no difficulty in caring for their young.
The test result was considered an indication that oxytocin is not the primary or sole driver of feelings associated with forming pairs or the care mothers provide to their children.
"Genetics has shown that there is no 'single point of disruption' for behaviors that are absolutely essential to the survival of a species," Devanand Manoli, an assistant professor at the University of California, San Francisco, told AFP.
On the other hand, the research proved that depriving one of the partners of the pair from oxytocin receptors recorded negative effects, according to the study, which was published Friday in the scientific journal "Neuron".
Genetically modified male mice that were mated to unmodified females did not show the violence that was usually recorded when they encountered other females.
And while the transgenic females were able to give birth to young and care for them, some of them gave birth to fewer young, and fewer of them survived, compared to the number of young females of unmodified mice.
In addition, the pups of the modified females weighed less than the pups of the unmodified rats, indicating that the pregnancies of the genetically modified mothers were not healthy enough.
The researchers noted that the experiment included only pairs with one limb modified and the other with a wild type, explaining that pairs consisting of exclusively modified mice could provide different results.
In any case, the study showed that the hormone oxytocin has a different role in various behaviors.
Animals that grew up without oxytocin receptors may have developed "other compensatory methods" that helped them mate and help their young develop, says Shah, the Stanford University professor.
The study indicated that oxytocin is only one of the genetic factors that control social behavior.
"I think our study shows that there are many ways that these very complex behaviors are regulated," Manoli said.
Oxytocin has been used in some cases to treat attachment disorders and other neurological and psychological conditions, but scientific information regarding its effectiveness is still limited.
Shah and Manoli said they hoped to find additional information about hormones and other receptors that play a role in mating and the mother's care of her children.
"These other methods may be used as new therapeutic targets," Manoli said.

Al-Jaafari explained, during his interview with Al-Quds.com, that he told the Shin Bet officer that they had blocked any political horizon for the Palestinians, increased settlements, undermined the two-state solution, disavowed the Oslo tunnels, and worked to spread weapons in the West Bank in a deliberate manner. They brought you as is happening in Nablus and Jenin.
The Fatah leader considered that the purpose of the interview was that the occupation forces want to deliver a message that they are on the lookout if the movement considers the option of resistance officially.

An entity based on aggression..!!
Written by: Rashid Hassan
You do not find an entity based on aggression and the extermination of the other, as is the Israeli entity, which was built on the ruins of more than 530 Palestinian villages that were completely destroyed, the establishment of Zionist settlements on their ruins, and the commission of more than “50” massacres.. in addition to the seizure of all Palestinian cities in the geography that He established this racist entity in it after forcibly displacing its people in the Four Winds of the Earth, so there are no more than 150 thousand Palestinian people left. Balfour until today
Putting dots on the letters.. Just yesterday, June 6, marked the 40th anniversary of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the 89-day siege of its capital, Beirut. Before that, the inauspicious 55th anniversary of the defeat of June 67 passed, and a few days before that May 15th... the enemy celebrated the establishment of its usurping entity on 78% of the Arab land of Palestine... and the displacement of more than "6" million Palestinian refugees.
And if we review the attacks launched by the Zionist enemy, we would find that it was not satisfied with attacking the Palestinian people and displacing them. Rather, its attacks included all the Arab countries that stood with the Palestinian right. The daily, continuous, all combined, is the description of ethnic cleansing.
He participated in the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956, struck the Iraqi nuclear reactor in 1981, occupied southern Lebanon and established a sectarian puppet mini-state «Saad Haddad 1978», and launched more than one aggression against Lebanon, the most dangerous of which was the 2006 war, as he suffered heavy losses, and he had to To withdraw from Lebanon under the pressure of the resistance in 2000, without restriction or condition, after it committed the worst massacres in history, the massacre of “Sabra and Shatila” in partnership with the isolationist Kataeb Party.
As for the aggression on Gaza, it is a continuous aggression. Not a single day passes without enemy planes, artillery and tanks striking the Strip, after imposing an unjust blockade on it since 2006.. which led to depriving it of electricity, clean water and treatment, and turned it into a health abomination unworthy of human beings. As described by the visit of former US President Carter.
The series of Zionist attacks has been going on for more than a hundred years and still is, and Zionist terrorism has become state terrorism, affecting humans, animals, stones, sanctities, and trees. Indeed, the settler mob uprooted more than one and a half million olive trees since the 1967 aggression... and here they are carrying out A malicious Jewish program for the sections of Al-Aqsa Mosque, temporally and spatially.
There is no state in history that was founded on aggression, and its existence became conditional on waging wars, bloodshed, and ethnic cleansing.
What is happening in the occupied Palestinian territory confirms that we are facing outlaw gangs, and not before a state that respects laws and regulations, which confirms the return of the Haganah, Stern and Lehi gangs that paved the way for the establishment of this usurper entity in 1948.
It is an existential war. To be or not to be.. The people of the mighty have determined to be, for here they are standing up to the Mongols of the age.. the new racists.. and they will be victorious with the help of the Almighty..

The number of job vacancies in the United States rose again in September
Washington (AFP) - The number of job vacancies in the United States rose again in September, reaching 10.7 million, according to the US Census Bureau in a statement.
The number of job vacancies increased by 437,000 during the month, partially reversing the decline recorded in August, according to data published in the Employment Opportunities and Labor Market Turnover report (Jolts).
The total number of vacancies was much higher than analysts' expectations, which, unlike the results, were expecting a decrease of about 500,000 jobs compared to the previous month, according to the specialized "MarketWatch" website.
In details, the increase in the number of vacancies was mainly driven by the logistics, health and social assistance sectors, in addition to hotels and restaurants.
"Job opportunities have increased unexpectedly," said Rubila Farooqui, chief economist at Human Factors Engineering in the US, which indicates continued strong demand in the labor market, which is not slowing despite the US central bank's tightening monetary policy.
While the number of vacancies increased, appointments decreased, on the other hand, to 6.1 million (compared to 6.3 million in August), due to a decline in the manufacturing sector as well as in the field of education, according to data published by the US Census Bureau.

Madrid does not want to "ignite sterile differences" with Algeria
Madrid - "Alquds" dot com - (AFP) - The Spanish Foreign Minister confirmed on Monday that he "does not want to fuel sterile differences" with Algeria, after the Algerian president condemned the shift of the Spanish position in favor of the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara.
"I will not fuel sterile disputes, but Spain has made a sovereign decision within the framework of international law and there is nothing else that can be added," Jose Manuel Paris said on Onda Cero radio.
Albaris was asked about the statements of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who described Saturday the shift in Spain's position on the issue of Western Sahara as "morally and historically unacceptable."
Tebboune said that Algeria "has good relations with Spain," but the recent stance of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on the Sahrawi issue "changed everything."
He added, "We will not interfere in Spain's internal affairs, but Algeria, as a country observing the Western Sahara file, as well as the United Nations, considers that Spain is the power managing the region as long as a solution is not reached" to this conflict.
And Paris announced on Monday that "among all these statements, what I reserve is the full guarantee to supply Spain with Algerian gas and respect for international contracts."
About a quarter of the gas that Spain imported came from Algeria in the first quarter of the year.
On March 18, Madrid announced its support for Morocco's autonomy plan for Western Sahara, considering it now "the most serious, realistic and credible basis for resolving the conflict."
Algeria denounced Madrid's "transformation" and recalled its ambassador to Spain the next day.
There are several differences between the two countries, most notably over the Western Sahara, the vast desert region of which Rabat controls the bulk of which the separatist Polisario Front, backed by Algeria, demands its independence.

Google slows hiring pace amid uncertain global economic outlook
Mountain View (America) (dpa) - Alphabet , the parent company of Google , intends to slow the pace of hiring for the rest of the year and support investments until 2023, according to CEO Sundar Pichai.
And he admitted in an email sent to employees that the ambiguity of the global economic outlook was the thing that dominated his mind when making the decision, indicating that Google is not immune from economic difficulties like all companies.
"Because of the hiring progress that has been made so far this year, we will slow the hiring pace for the rest of the year, while continuing to support our most important opportunities," Pichai said.
For 2022 and 2023, the company intends to focus on hiring in engineering, technical and other important positions, in addition to long-term priorities.
He pointed out that Google hired about 10,000 new employees during the second quarter, and it also had a large number of commitments during the third quarter, which partly reflects the seasonal aggregate hiring agenda.
As of March 31, the number of employees at Alphabet amounted to about 163,906 workers, an increase of 17% compared to the previous year.
Technology companies have recently slowed or stopped hiring due to high inflation and growing concerns about economic challenges.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Microsoft Corporation announced plans to reduce a small percentage of its staff, reflecting periodic adjustments at the beginning of its fiscal year, and the high-speed delivery company, Joe Buff, reduced its workforce by 10%, or about 1,500 employees.
And Bloomberg News reported in early June that businessman Elon Musk wants to stop all hiring around the world, as Tesla has become overcrowded with workers in some areas.
After that, Musk indicated that the planned cuts will mean a 3.5% reduction in the workforce.

TEHRAN, (Xinhua) -- The Russian Embassy in Iran announced on Sunday that the reports about Iranian arms being sent to Russia are "substantial," the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.
The embassy said in a statement carried by Iranian media that "the information published in some media outlets about sending Iranian weapons to Russia is false and does not correspond to reality."
The British newspaper (The Guardian) reported on April 12 that "Russia is using weapons smuggled by Iran from Iraq against Ukraine."
And she said: The Iranian-made (Bavar 373) missile system, which is similar to the Russian (S-300) system, was donated to Moscow as well, by the authorities in Tehran, who also returned the (S-300) system.
The Iranian embassy in Britain strongly rejected the Guardian newspaper's news of Iranian arms shipments to Russia, saying it was "unrealistic and unfounded".

Study: The high rate of uterine cancer deaths in the United States
LOS ANGELES - (Xinhua) -- U.S. uterine cancer deaths have risen, according to a recent study published Thursday, adding that the highest death rate was among non-Hispanic black women.
The study, which was led by researchers from the US National Cancer Institute, showed that higher death rates were associated with a higher incidence of aggressive subtypes of uterine cancer.
The researchers found that from 2010 to 2017, deaths among women of all racial and ethnic groups from uterine cancer overall increased by 1.8 percent annually.
Deaths from subtypes of non-endometrial cancer, which are more aggressive than endometrial cancer, increased by 2.7 percent annually, while death rates from endometrial cancer were stable during this period.
The death rate among black women due to uterine cancer in general and non-endometrial subtypes was more than double that of other racial and ethnic groups, according to the study.

Italian Championship: Napoli soar in the lead, and Milan is the only runner-up
(AFP) - Napoli took the lead by defeating Atalanta 2-1 on Saturday in the thirteenth stage of the Italian Football League , while Milan took the runner-up at the expense of the Bergamo club in particular, by defeating its guest Spezia 2-1.
The southern club came from behind with a goal from Nigerian Ademola Lukman (19 from the penalty spot), to victory thanks to the latter’s compatriot Victor Osimhen (23) and Elif Elmas from North Macedonia (35).
And Napoli, the leader and the only one who had not yet lost in the “Serie A”, hit two birds with one stone, so he regained the winning tone after losing to Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, and moved away by 6 points from his new runner-up, Milan (35 versus 29), while Atalanta, who retreated to the center, fell behind. The third, by 8 points, during the stage that witnesses another summit match between Juventus and Inter on Sunday.
Napoli achieved a wonderful start to the season locally and continually, which was only disturbed by its recent loss against Liverpool, but after guaranteeing qualification before playing it, then it managed to maintain its lead despite its loss, by winning the first leg 1-4.
Napoli has been panting after its first title since 1990, when the late Argentine star Diego Armando Maradona led it to its second title in its history.
Napoli lost three of its pillars during the summer, with the departure of its Belgian attackers, Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne, to Galatasaray, Turkey, and Toronto, Canada, respectively. Senegalese defense pole Kalidou Coulibaly moved to Chelsea, England.
At home in Bergamo, Atalanta pressed early and got a penalty kick after a handball inside the area on Nigerian Napoli striker Osimhen, and after returning to the video assistant referee “VAR” for confirmation, the latter’s citizen Lucman struck a powerful shot to the left of goalkeeper Alex Merritt (19). , in his sixth goal in the “Serie A” this season.
Napoli did not delay in responding through Osimhen in particular, who made up for his mistake with the equalizer with a header to the left of Argentine goalkeeper Juan Musso (23).
It is the Nigerian international's eighth goal in the league this season.
And coach Luciano Spalletti's men translated their possession of the ball by 68 percent, and their team play with 205 successful passes out of 230 attempts since the start of the match, to the second goal after a ground pass from Osimhen to midfielder Elmas from North Macedonia, who controlled the ball, dodged the goalkeeper and shot with his foot. Left-handed Brazilian Ederson failed to clear the net (35).
With the start of the second half, Atalanta almost equalized after a breakthrough from the left corridor into the area, and a shot from Dane Joachim Malh was blocked by goalkeeper Merritt, to return to Luckman who hit the crossbar (55).
The two coaches made several substitutions to change the course of the match, and Argentine substitute Giovanni Simeone, the son of Diego, coach of Atletico Madrid, almost added the third to Napoli 3 minutes after he came on in place of Osimhen, but his ground shot from the penalty spot passed near the post (78).
Atalanta coach Jean-Pierrot Gasperini commented on his team's loss, "We were at the level of the match and sometimes we were superior. We did not deserve to lose this match, but we can feel proud because the team is developing well."
He continued, "I was curious to measure myself against Napoli, and I saw young players who could guarantee us good things."
Milan returned to the winning tone after losing to Turin 1-2 in the last stage, with a difficult victory over Spezia 2-1.
The “Rossoneri” owes its victory to its savior, veteran substitute French striker Olivier Giroud, who scored the winning goal in the 89th minute, after he had opened the scoring through his captain, French defender Theo Hernandez (21).
Just for the guests, Daniel Maldini, loaned from Milan himself, son of defense legend Paolo and current sports director of the home team (59), opened his first goal in the league this season.
Milan is going through a good period at the local and continental levels, as it qualified for the final price of the Champions League competition for the first time since 2014, by occupying second place in Group E behind leaders Chelsea.
Milan, who avenged its loss at home to Spezia 1-2 last season, armed itself with its success in the San Siro, as it scored since the start of the season 18 points out of 21 possible, with 6 victories against a defeat by Napoli 1-2.
And at the San Siro stadium in Milan, the owners of the land opened the scoring after a pass from the Algerian Ismail Bennacer, who was tamed by defender Hernandez with his chest and hit it with his left foot to the right of the Polish goalkeeper Bartolomei Dragowski (21), confirmed by the video assistant referee “VAR” for fear of an offside situation on the captain the team.
It was Hernandez's second goal in the league this season, after his first in a 4-2 win over Udinese on August 13.
The Frenchman almost added the second, but Spezia's goalkeeper was on the lookout for his shot (39), before the Portuguese striker Rafael Leao's shot (45 + 4) was blocked by the crossbar.
With the start of the second half, the “Rossoneri” was once again the most dangerous after a shot from the Belgian Divock Origi to the right of the penalty area, which was blocked by the goalkeeper (50), but the guest team snatched the equalizing goal outside the course of the game in the 59th minute, thanks to Daniel Maldini.
Coincidentally, Maldini Jr. scored his first goal in his career in 15 matches he played with Milan since 2020 against his current team in a 2-1 home win last season.
The defending champion believed that he had returned to the lead thanks to the goal of substitute Sandro Tonali, who entered the place of Bennacer, but “VAR” canceled the goal due to a mistake on fellow defender Fikayo Tomori at the start of the attack (65).
Substitute Giro shuffled the cards again by scoring the winning goal 17 minutes after he came on for Origi, following a pass from Tonali on the right to the second post, followed by the 36-year-old with a shot on the fly with his left foot into the net (89), to return and be sent off after he took off his shirt to celebrate. He received two yellow cards.
Jiro had scored two goals and passed two decisive balls in the victory over Austrian Salzburg on Wednesday in the main continental competition.
Empoli beat Sassuolo 1-0, and Salernitana drew 2-2 at home to Cremonese.
And the stage continues on Sunday, and he plays in the second summit, Rome against Lazio in the capital’s derby, Bologna with Turin, Monza against Verona, and Sampdoria with Fiorentina.

Indonesia deports two Russians over a nude photo at a sacred site in Bali
Denpasar - (AFP) - Bali intends to deport a Russian online influencer and her husband after they took pictures of themselves naked on a sacred tree, thus violating the rules of local culture, officials on the Indonesian island announced Friday.
Alina Vaslieva, whose Instagram account is followed by thousands of users, took pictures of her naked on a 700-year-old tree in a Tabanan temple.
The photo, taken by her husband Andrei Vaslev, went viral on Instagram, angering the communities in Bali.
Mountains, trees and other natural factors are considered sacred in Balinese Hindu culture, as they are believed to represent the dwellings of the gods.
"It has been proven to us that they have carried out activities that threaten public order and do not respect local rules," the official in charge of immigration affairs in Bali, Jamaruli Manihuruk, told reporters, adding, "They will be punished subsequently by deportation."
He added that the couple will be banned from visiting Indonesia for at least six months, and they must participate in a purification ceremony organized in the sacred area in line with local beliefs.
Vasleva posted an apology on her Instagram account in both English and Indonesian, admitting that she had "made a grave mistake".
"There are many sacred places in Bali, and a number of them lack explanatory information, as in the site where we took pictures," she said, adding that "behaving respectfully towards local traditions and while visiting holy places is a very important step."
Bali Governor Wayan Koster confirmed that his administration will no longer tolerate tourists who do not respect the sanctity of local sites.
About two hundred tourists were deported from the island last year, due to some of them violating the rules imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
And last month, a Canadian actor who claims to be a spiritual guide faced deportation from Bali after a video went viral of him performing a traditional Haka dance naked at the sacred Mount Batur.

Before Labor Day... German unions demand higher wages
Berlin - (dpa) - A day before Labor Day, which falls on Sunday, German unions have called for a significant increase in workers' wages to offset high inflation.
The head of the IG Metall union for workers in the industrial and mining sector, Jörg Hoffmann, told the German newspaper "Rheinische Post" published today, Saturday: "For two years, we have adopted a responsible salary policy due to the pandemic ... the focus was on preserving job opportunities." In the midst of the deepest post-war recession in our history, our members now expect a significant increase in wages."
Hoffman added that "balancing inflation cannot be a matter for the trade unions alone," explaining that "this is also an issue for the state, which must ease the burdens to ensure that workers can afford high energy prices."
Hoffman does not expect the risk of a spiral of wages and prices, which means that higher wages inevitably lead to higher product prices, explaining, on the other hand, that “given the high demand resulting from the catching-up process from the crisis and the decrease in supply partly in return due to the disruption of supply chains, companies were able to transfer Almost all increases in energy and raw material prices are passed on to consumers.
According to preliminary calculations by the Federal Statistical Office, the inflation rate in Germany in April was 7.4 percent on an annual basis.
The head of the "Verdi" union for workers in the service sector, Frank Wernicke, said that the ball is now in the employers' court.
"In the rounds of collective bargaining, we want at least compensation for price increases, and if it is possible to achieve an increase in real wages," Wernicke said in remarks to the German newspaper "Augusburger Allgemeine" issued today, Saturday.

National Office: The occupation bids farewell to Biden with new settlement projects
Nablus - "Jerusalem" dot com Imad Saadeh - The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization confirmed that the failure to include the settlement file on the agenda of US President Joe Biden in his recent talks and meetings with Israeli leaders is a negative indication of the administration's position. The US is out of this file and out of the two-state solution, which the US president pretends to support.
In its weekly report on the settlements, the National Bureau expressed its conviction that the current US administration is following in the footsteps of the previous administration, but with soft means, an administration that distanced itself from describing the settlements as illegal or contrary to international law.
He added that in connection with Biden's visit to the region, the policy of the occupation government was overshadowed by misleading maneuvers, which are an extension of the Israeli misleading maneuvers that do not stop whenever it comes to settlement activity, which it is carrying out in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and this is what we have been witnessing in political stations. different, especially when it comes to the relations of the occupying power with the United States of America.
The report recalled what happened in 2010 and 2016 when Joe Biden paid visits to Israel while holding the position of Vice President of the United States at the time, when the government of Benjamin Netanyahu slapped the US administration by announcing bids to build thousands of settlement units in the West Bank, with a focus on building in the city. Jerusalem. Thus, in all his visits to Israel as Vice President, the Israeli governments used to receive Joe Biden by promoting new settlement tender decisions.
Israel bids farewell to Biden with new settlement projects
The report concluded that the scene in 2022 has not changed in substance. In previous years, Israeli governments headed by Benjamin Netanyahu used to receive the vice president with settlement decisions that bore quite a bit of direct insult to the American administration.
This time, in 2022, the transitional Israeli government headed by Yair Lapid decides to bid farewell to the president by promoting new settlement bids for planners in East Jerusalem. On the day Joe Biden was landing his plane at Ben Gurion Airport, it was scheduled to discuss promoting two new settlements in East Jerusalem, however, the head of the Israeli transitional government, Yair Lapid, reversed the trend and canceled the planned discussion of the Jerusalem District Planning Committee that was supposed to be held on July 18, in order to avoid embarrassment during Biden’s visit to the region, so that the discussion would be decided after a week, i.e. in July 25th.
The Israeli Planning Committee was discussing depositing two plans for the construction of 2,000 units, which deals a severe blow to the development of East Jerusalem as a Palestinian capital, as it closes the plans related to “Givat Hashakid” near Beit Safafa and the scheme for the lower canal between “Har Homa” and “Givat Hamatos”, the last remaining corridor. It connects Beit Safafa, Sharafat, and the rest of the Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem.
Continue to change the reality in Jerusalem
At the same time, the Minister of Jerusalem Affairs, Construction and Settlements in the occupation government, Ze'ev Elkin, announced that Israel will continue to change the reality in East Jerusalem and consolidate its annexation according to the government's plan for the year 2018 and close what he called the gaps and differences between it and West Jerusalem. His ministry, in partnership with the occupation municipality, announced the establishment of Two centers at a total cost of 50 million shekels in Issawiya and Beit Hanina, and completing the penetration of the first tunnel under the settlement of the French Hill to link the settlements of the Jordan Valley and "Ma'ale Adumim" with occupied Jerusalem, and from there to the city of "Tel Aviv" via the bypass road (443), which ends with work Mid year 2024.
It confirmed that the tunnel is one of four tunnels under the French Hill settlement built on the lands of Jabal al-Masharif in occupied Jerusalem, with a total length of about (4.4 km) and a depth of about (40 meters). There are two lanes in each direction, and two tunnels towards the "Pisgat Ze'ev" settlement, and in the direction of the reflector.
The establishment of these tunnels comes as part of a plan to change the traffic and transportation system in the city of East Jerusalem, facilitate the entry and exit of settlers as soon as possible, bring more settlers and build more settlements within the "Greater Jerusalem" plan, which among its provisions includes the annexation of East Jerusalem's flank or (Eastern Gate), which is 67 1,000 dunums extending from the Kedar settlement, southeast of Abu Dis, to the village of Mikhmas, northeast of Jerusalem.
A network of tunnels and bridges
The occupation is working to establish this network of roads, tunnels, and bridges within a settlement belt that wraps around East Jerusalem, swallowing its lands and besieging it in favor of the settlement project, establishing welfare and social care buildings in the neighborhoods in the east of the city, and helping the residents to obtain better service, according to repeated allegations, and easing congestion in public institutions in the city. west of town.
The occupation municipality also claims that an important achievement has been recorded in the level separation project at the French Hill junction, as the first underground tunnel was penetrated at the French Hill junction towards Ma'ale Adumim and another tunnel towards "Pisgat Zelev", as part of the future transportation system in Jerusalem, which also includes Expanding the number of entrances to the city, at a cost of about 1.2 billion shekels, to reduce congestion and the flow of settlers to and from East Jerusalem towards Highway 443 Tel Aviv-Jerusalem, and facilitate access to light rail services at Al-Hatta below the settlement of French Hill in one of the most central and busiest intersections in Jerusalem.
outposts
In a related context, the occupation authorities continue to settle the situation of settlement outposts, which have turned into safe havens for Jewish terrorist organizations, and whitewash them in accordance with the so-called "settlement law", where the Israeli Ministry of Interior recognized about 29 outposts, in different areas of the West Bank, within a year of The far-right minister, Ayelet Shaked, assumes her position as Minister of the Interior, as part of her attempts to court the settlers, as the ministry transfers annually 3.3 billion shekels ($970 million) as a grant to about 200 settlements.
Shaked claims that the Interior Ministry's recognition of these outposts and the transfer of a budget for them will open the way for them to receive budgets from other ministries.
The Israeli government had allocated an amount of 29.5 million shekels in order to connect random settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank to the electricity network and to prepare structural maps for them in preparation for their legalization. This amount was allocated through the Settlement Department of the Zionist Organization, which constitutes an executive arm of the government. Yamina party, according to the coalition agreement. It was endorsed by the former prime minister and former Yamina president, Naftali Bennett, who currently holds the settlement portfolio.
Funding random outposts is an important item in the Settlement Department's action plan for the current year. Connecting the settlement outposts to electricity is conditional on the approval of the political level, with the aim of legalizing these outposts, and after the approval of the Minister of Defense, Benny Gantz.
In recent weeks, the Settlement Department has mapped dozens of random outposts, with the aim of implementing what it calls "security improvements", such as installing cameras or fire suppression vehicles. The "Civil Administration" is working to approve any settlement outpost connected to electricity and in which "security improvements" will be implemented.
In recent years, the so-called "Youth Settlement Forum" has been active in order to legitimize random settlement outposts and connect them to the electricity grid. Israeli governments have called these outposts "youth settlement".
Settler violence escalates
In this context, settler violence against Palestinian citizens and their property is increasing under the full cover of the army, the occupation authorities, and its civil administration. This was confirmed by the Israeli human rights organization B'Tselem, which considered settler violence part of a governmental policy for official forces, not only allowing it, but allowing its implementation and participation in it, as part of the Israeli apartheid regime's strategy to expand and complete the process of seizing Palestinian lands. The violence of the occupation, whether formal or informal, is “an integral part of the Israeli apartheid regime that aspires to Judaize the place, i.e. the entire area between the river and the sea, and this regime considers the land a resource that was found mainly to serve the Jewish public only. This consideration is the semi-privileged land Exclusively for the needs of the existing Jewish settlements in terms of developing, expanding and establishing new Jewish towns.
Expansion of settlement activities
In terms of expanding settlement activities, the occupation authorities have approved a set of settlement plans to expand construction in a number of settlements established in the occupied West Bank. The settlement projects target settlements in the governorates of Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Hebron, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Jenin and Salfit, and that seven settlements out of nine Those targeted by these plans are located in the area known as the "Western Segregation Zone".
The most prominent of these plans is the plan in the "Beitar Illit" settlement, which targeted 303 dunums of the lands of the towns of Nahalin and Husan in Bethlehem to build 1061 new settlement units, as well as the settlement plan that targets the "Mevo Horon" settlement in Ramallah, with 258 dunums of the neighboring Palestinian lands. Which belong to the villages of Beit Nuba and Beit Liqia, to build 210 additional settlement units in the settlement in the northeastern side of it. Two plans were approved that targeted the settlement of "Efrat", specifically the two settlement outposts to the north of it, namely "Givat Hadagan" and "Givat Hatmar", where the two outposts were supported by further expansion with 223 settlement units at the expense of the neighboring Palestinian lands that belong to each of the towns of Al-Khader and Artas. As well as a plan to establish a “services development” center in the area between the “Shaked” settlement, the “Hananit” and “Tal Menashe” settlements, and a plan in the “Kiryat Arba” settlement in the heart of Hebron to establish 30 settlement units on an area of 9 dunums of land. The President of the European Commission calls on India to support measures against Russia
Brussels - "Jerusalem" dot com - (dpa) - The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, indirectly asked India to support the measures being taken against Russia in response to its invasion of Ukraine.
"We urge all members of the international community to support our efforts for a lasting peace," Der von der Leyen said during her visit to New Delhi on Monday.
The European Commission President added that the European Union has designed its sanctions to remain for a longer period of time, adding that "this gives us a tool of pressure to reach a diplomatic solution that will achieve lasting peace."
She also recalled her visit to the town of Bucha, near Kiev, where Russian forces were reported to have committed war crimes, and stressed the importance of ensuring that "unprovoked aggression unjustified by strategic failure" leads to Yemen.
It is noteworthy that India condemned the massacre of civilians in Bucha, but at the same time refrained from criticizing the Russian invasion, and maintains close diplomatic, commercial and military relations with Russia, as it buys oil at a cheap price, after European countries imposed sanctions on Russia in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It is also very dependent on Russian arms supplies.
The European Union and India also plan to launch a joint trade and technology council in an effort to boost cooperation between them.
"Both sides agree that the rapid changes in the geopolitical environment underscore the need for deep and joint strategic cooperation," von der Leyen said in a statement.
She added that the agreement would allow them to coordinate artistic work and submit reports to the political level.
Bloomberg news agency quoted an informed source as saying that this move is part of a broader European plan to accelerate trade talks with India.
The source, who requested anonymity, added that the federation seeks to provide India with a viable alternative to diversify away from Russia.
Von der Leyen is planning to meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
It should be noted that the European Union is India's third largest trading partner with a merchandise trade volume of 62.8 billion euros (67.8 billion dollars).

Marine Le Pen is a far-right who emerged from her father's cloak, not from his positions
Paris - (AFP) - For the second time in a row, far-right leader Marine Le Pen reaches the decisive round of the French presidential elections, crowning a decade she spent improving her image in public opinion without changing her program.
The ambitious lady, known for her sharp nature, is the youngest daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, founder of the National Front and one of the most controversial faces in the modern history of French politics.
Like her father in 2002, Marin reached the second round of the 2017 elections, when she lost to Emmanuel Macron, whom she will face again on Sunday.
For decades, Le Pen Sr. remained the dominant name in the French far right. However, he could not have dreamed of the extent to which the youngest of his three daughters had reached.
However, Marin's presence was not exclusively the result of political inheritance. Rather, her success in achieving this was mainly due to her work to dismantle what her father had established, especially the removal of all the racist and anti-Semitic deposits that marked his speech.
Le Pen proceeded to "de-demonicize" the National Front, and went so far as to expel her founding father in August 2015, after she became convinced that his controversial and controversial positions would remain an obstacle to any victory at the national level.
In this regard, she said, "I followed the example of this man (...) I fought a lot for him, but at a certain moment, I had to stop."
Le Pen has worked to change the image of the party she has headed since 2011, through the path of "normalization", one of which was changing the name, as the "National Assembly" replaced the "National Front" in 2018.
The game of names is no longer strange to its political bloc: the heavy legacy left by Jean-Marie prompted the party to run the election campaign, focusing on the name "Marine" instead of her nickname, which was a burden on her for many years.
In an interview with Closer magazine, she said that during her youth, "it wasn't easy for people to get romantically involved with Marine Le Pen" because of the name she bore. "I remember that one of the men chose to separate from me because of the pressure his social environment imposed on him," she added.
Le Pen, 53, is the mother of three children from two marriages that led to divorce.
Beyond personal issues and names, Le Pen has sought during the past years to present a more friendly image: less emotional reactions in the face of journalists' questions, clothes in light colors, and a smile present even in the midst of the televised debate with Macron days before the decisive day.
In the political core, he focused on the economy, which was marginal in the list of priorities of the National Front, seeking to attract voters who had been "lost" by globalization.
Le Pen focused in the 2022 campaign against Macron, the former banker whom some describe as a "president of the wealthy", on the purchasing power that has become a preoccupation for the French with the rise in global energy and food resources prices in light of the Russian war on Ukraine.
The relationship between Le Pen and Russia, which she visited during 2017, was mainly present in the televised debate with the president.
The latter accused her of being financially dependent on Russia because of a loan she had obtained from a Russian bank, and that she had become "dependent" on Russian President Putin. Le Pen responded by affirming her support, "A free Ukraine that does not belong to the United States, the European Union, or Russia, this is my position."
The two rivals engaged in a heated debate over the European Union, which is a main focus of Macron's foreign policy, while Le Pen denied accusations that she wanted to take France out of the bloc.
"I want to develop this European organization, but Mr. Macron, I did not think you would adopt a conspiracy theory," she said, while the outgoing president considered that Le Pen's positions make Sunday's elections a "referendum with or against Europe."
In the first round, to the right of Le Pen was candidate Eric Zemmour, who holds extremist and controversial positions.
Zemmour left the race after winning about seven percent of the vote, but called for a vote for Le Pen in the second round.
The former competitor stirred controversy during his campaign. He has said, for example, that he would require families to give their newborns "French names," and might set up a "re-immigration" ministry to expel unwanted foreigners. Although she also belonged to the extreme right, Le Pen avoided being drawn into Zemmour's sharp stances.
Associate researcher at the Institute of Political Sciences in Paris, Cecile Aldoi, said that compared to the "radical and even crude discourse" adopted by Zemmour, "Marine Le Pen chose the opposite, to normalize, moderate and soften her discourse."
Aldoy, a specialist in the study of the far right, stressed that "the (Marine Le Pen) program did not deviate at all from the foundations of the National Front such as immigration and national identity, but it chose other words to justify it."
She explains that Le Pen is now "attacking Islam and wants to radically limit non-European immigration under the pretexts of secularism, republican values, and even feminism."
A newly published Jean-Joris study concluded that Le Pen's positions on immigration have become more hardened.
The far-right candidate wants to include in the constitution "national priority", which would deprive foreigners of several privileges.
Like Zemmour, it also wants to expel illegal immigrants, criminals and foreign offenders, as well as those suspected of extremism and foreigners who have been unemployed for more than a year.
