Jordanian parliamentarians agree to imprison anyone who publishes a drawing or symbol that insults religious feelings
Amman - (dpa) - The Jordanian Parliament, during its discussion today, Monday, of the draft law amending the Penal Code, increased the penalty for insulting religious feeling or belief.
According to the Jordan News Agency (Petra) today, the council raised the penalty to imprisonment for a period of no less than four months and no more than two years, with a fine of no more than 500 dinars.
The agency indicated that the current penalty is imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months, or a fine not exceeding 20 dinars.
