TEHRAN, (Xinhua) -- The Russian Embassy in Iran announced on Sunday that the reports about Iranian arms being sent to Russia are "substantial," the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.

The embassy said in a statement carried by Iranian media that "the information published in some media outlets about sending Iranian weapons to Russia is false and does not correspond to reality."

The British newspaper (The Guardian) reported on April 12 that "Russia is using weapons smuggled by Iran from Iraq against Ukraine."

And she said: The Iranian-made (Bavar 373) missile system, which is similar to the Russian (S-300) system, was donated to Moscow as well, by the authorities in Tehran, who also returned the (S-300) system.

The Iranian embassy in Britain strongly rejected the Guardian newspaper's news of Iranian arms shipments to Russia, saying it was "unrealistic and unfounded".
