Spain Championship: Atletico Madrid tightens the screws on its neighbor Real and Morichi deprives Besolano of his first victory with Valladolid

Atletico Madrid continued its uprising recently and achieved its fifth successive victory, tightening the screws on its neighbor and arch-rival Real Madrid when it defeated its host and neighbor Rayo Vallecano 2-1 on Sunday in the twenty-eighth stage of the Spanish Football Championship .

Argentine international defender Nahuel Molina gave Atletico Madrid the lead in the 22nd minute, and celebrated by raising the shirt of his compatriot Angel Correa, who withdrew at the last moment from the squad due to the death of his mother.

The other defender, Mario Hermoso, added the second goal two minutes later with a header from close range (24).

Rayo Vallecano suffered a painful blow by expelling his French defender Florian Lejeune in the 62nd minute, but that did not prevent him from scoring the goal of honor through Fran Garcia in the 85th minute.
Atletico Madrid strengthened its position in third place with 57 points, two points behind its other neighbor Real Madrid, who suffered a sudden loss at home to Villarreal 2-3 on Saturday, while Rayo Vallecano's balance froze at 38 points and fell to ninth place.

Kosovar striker Vedat Murichi denied Valladolid's new Uruguayan coach, Pablo Cesar Besolano, his first victory at the head of the technical management of his team, by equalizing Real Mallorca 3-3 in stoppage time.

Besolano played the first match as coach of Valladolid, which is headed by former Brazilian star Ronaldo Nazario, after he was appointed last Wednesday to succeed Jose Rojo "Bacheta", who was dismissed from his position on Monday.

Valladolid started the match in the best possible way and ended the first half in their favour, with a goal by Kiki Perez in the 33rd minute, but Real Mallorca hit hard at the beginning of the second half by scoring two goals via Morichi (53) and Manu Morlanes (58).
Moroccan international midfielder Salim Amlah equalized one minute after entering the place of Brazilian Lucas Rosa (68), then Moncho gave Valladolid the lead for the second time in the match in the 86th minute.

And at the time when the match was taking its last breath, Murichi managed to equalize in the fourth minute of stoppage time, scoring his second personal goal in the match.

Valladolid fell to the seventeenth place with 29 points, while Real Mallorca strengthened its position in the twelfth place with 34 points.

Cadiz breathed a sigh of relief by defeating Real Betis 2-0.

Cadiz took advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of the landowners after the expulsion of playmaker Regio Canales in the 38th minute, and they succeeded in opening the scoring through midfielder Robin Alcaras in the 53rd minute, and Ramos added the second after six minutes (59).

And the ordeals of Real Betis continued, by expelling its striker, Aitor Roibal, after one minute, so he completed the match with nine players (60).

Canales wrote on his Twitter account after the match: “I am sorry, team, fans, Real Betis,” adding, “Today I made a mistake, a huge mistake, and I am responsible for the defeat.”
"I must be self-critical and continue to work like never before to help you."

Cadiz rose to the fourteenth place with 31 points, one point behind Getafe, who lost to Real Sociedad 0-2 on Saturday, while Real Betis suffered its second successive loss and fell to sixth place after its balance froze at 45 points, two points behind Villarreal.
Almeria followed the example of Cadiz and strengthened its hopes of staying in the first division by defeating its guest, Valencia, 2-1.
Goncalo Melero (49) and Serbian Srdjan Babic (58) scored Almeria's goals, and Samu Castillejo (61) scored Valencia's goal.

Almeria took advantage of Espanyol's loss to Athletic Bilbao 1-2 on Saturday, and Valladolid stumbled against Real Mallorca, so it got rid of the penultimate nineteenth place and rose to sixteenth with 30 points, while Valencia fell to eighteenth place after its score froze at 27 points.
The stage ends on Monday with Barcelona's meeting with Girona.
