World Cup 2022: FIFA will distribute more than $ 200 million to the clubs concerned

(AFP) - The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced on Tuesday that it will distribute 209 million US dollars to clubs that will release their players in order to participate in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

And the international body said in a statement that each club will benefit from “about 10 thousand US dollars for every day that one of its players stays with its national team in the 2022 World Cup, including the days of official preparations, and every club for which the participating player played in the last two previous years will benefit.” for the 2022 World Cup, which will be held from November 20 to December 18.

This initiative has already seen 416 clubs from 63 member associations benefit from the same amount after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to FIFA.

The International Federation established this system before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, after an agreement with the European Clubs Association, whose teams include most of the players participating in international competitions.
