Report: Israel is laying the foundations for a long occupation and the return of settlements in Gaza

The occupation army is intensifying the expansion of military checkpoints called axes, especially the Netzarim axis, which divides the Gaza Strip into two parts and prevents traffic from the south of the Strip to the north. This step indicates Israel's intention to stay for a long time, perhaps establishing a permanent settlement with settlement construction.

According to a report by Maariv newspaper, the Israeli army expanded the axis, and built and expanded it to a width of eight kilometers to prevent what it called sniper fire.

The report added that due to the presence of the Israeli army in the area, it was decided to pave the axis to allow the movement of military vehicles even in stormy weather conditions, and to avoid accidents in which vehicles get stuck in potholes or landslides.

The Netzarim axis is eight kilometers long from the east, near Kibbutz Be'eri, to Gaza City and runs parallel to the Gaza River.

The occupation army has also worked to build and establish infrastructure, and it seems that Israel is planning a long-term presence of Israeli army forces on the axis.

In addition to building the main road, the Israeli army established a number of camps, water and fuel lines were extended, and a solar communications infrastructure was built.
