Bloomberg reported that Israel is intensifying its preparations for a possible comprehensive war with Hezbollah, in light of the escalating risks resulting from new developments in the confrontation with Iran and its arms.

The American agency quoted the Israeli army as saying that Israel is currently developing measures to confront hostilities “if necessary,” including additional military training for the land, sea, and air forces in the north of the country.

The army said in a statement, “Local commanders in the region were briefed on the operations, to accelerate preparations for continued fighting,” noting that “additional storage facilities are being established to enable the rapid and widespread mobilization of Israeli army forces to the front line.”

An Israeli official pointed out that "Hezbollah is one of the most powerful militias in the Middle East, and it is believed to have about 150,000 missiles and shells, some of which have a long enough range to reach almost anywhere in Israel."

According to the Israeli official, if an “all-out war” breaks out, Israel estimates that “the basic scenario is the launching of up to 5,000 missiles daily from Lebanon, in addition to several hundred more by other Iranian proxies in Yemen, Iraq, and Syria.”

The official stated, "Hezbollah will likely attempt to strike infrastructure facilities, such as power plants and water pipelines, as well as seaports, airports, and communications sites."

According to the agency, Israel "has been preparing for war with Hezbollah for more than 15 years, as it established a national emergency authority to coordinate between government ministries, local authorities, and other agencies, to prepare for any surprise attack."

It also has a plan known as “The Compass,” a secret document that outlines Hezbollah’s capabilities, the maximum damage that attacks could cause, along with emergency stocks that Israel will buy in preparation for war, and potential evacuations from affected areas.
