It was revealed, on Sunday evening, that the thwarting of the arms smuggling operation from the Jordanian border at the end of last July, which was described at the time as unusual, contained Iranian-made explosive devices.
According to the Hebrew channel Reshet Kan, these devices were apparently on their way to armed cells in the West Bank, or they were on their way to other cells inside Israel that were apparently recruited to carry out attacks.
The channel indicated that the Shin Bet is still investigating the smuggling attempt.
These developments come in light of the continuous Israeli accusations, at the political and security level, of Iran trying to ignite the situation in the West Bank and financing armed cells there to carry out attacks.
