Netanyahu blames Iran for West Bank attacks, will convene cabinet

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday evening has blamed Iran for "encouraging and funding" the attacks in the occupied West Bank.

His joint statement came with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant after a security assessment on the shooting attack in the South Hebron Hills, which saw one female settler killed and another wounded.

The Israeli cabinet will convene on Wednesday over the security situation, with one political source telling Israeli media

that the meeting will focus on "Iran flooding the West Bank with money," and the options available to combat it.

Netanyahu added that Israeli is "working around the clock to catch the killers...but we have to understand that part of this wave of terror comes from outside."

On his part, Gallant said that the attack was "directed by Iran, which is looking for every way to harm the citizens of Israel."
