The Palestinian child, Amir Emad Al-Bashiti, 13 years old, was martyred as a result of gunfire by the Israeli occupation army late on Saturday night. The crime occurred in the Batn Al-Samin area, south of Khan Yunis city, adding to a series of direct targeting of civilians in the southern areas of the Gaza Strip.
The martyrdom of child Al-Bashiti coincided with the martyrdom of three other citizens, including a sanitation worker, following raids and artillery shelling that targeted a gathering of residents in Khan Yunis and a landfill near the Bureij refugee camp in the central Strip. The occupation army had officially admitted to killing 20 Palestinians in the past week, claiming they belonged to Palestinian resistance factions.
Field sources reported that occupation forces committed more than 3,000 violations of the ceasefire agreement concluded in January 2025. The sources clarified that these continuous aggressions resulted in the martyrdom of 986 Palestinians and the injury of about 3,122 others with varying degrees of injuries since the agreement was supposed to come into effect.
Official statistics indicate that the total number of martyrs in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 72,000 since the start of the genocide war on October 7, 2023. These numbers come amidst the continuation of military operations targeting infrastructure and what remains of the basic necessities of life in various governorates of the Strip.
On the ground, the occupation army continues its policy of land encroachment by moving what is known as the 'Yellow Line' towards the western areas of the Strip. These movements are accompanied by intensive gunfire targeting areas near the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City and areas adjacent to the central governorate, forcing hundreds of families to displace again.
Amidst this field escalation, the occupation authorities continue to impose strict restrictions on the flow of life-saving humanitarian and medical aid to the besieged population. The humanitarian crisis is exacerbated by the continued closure of crossings and the prevention of essential supplies, threatening a complete collapse of what remains of the health and service system in Gaza.
