Israeli occupation forces continued to escalate their military operations in the Gaza Strip, launching a series of intense aerial raids and artillery shelling targeting various areas. Field sources reported that a Palestinian citizen was injured by occupation bullets in the town of Al-Zawiya, located in the central part of the Strip, this Friday morning, as part of the direct targeting of civilians.
In another incident, Israeli military vehicles fired their machine guns at citizens on the vital Salah al-Din Street, specifically near the Gaza Valley bridge. This targeting resulted in a second injury among Palestinians, reflecting the severe security tension imposed by the occupation on major movement axes.
On the ground in the southern part of the Strip, sources stated that occupation artillery shelled the eastern areas of Khan Yunis city with several projectiles, causing panic among residents. This shelling coincided with intense and prolonged flights of Israeli drones that did not leave the Strip's skies, signaling more imminent attacks.
Gaza City experienced a harsh night, as occupation aircraft carried out violent raids targeting Al-Shati camp west of the city, leading to the complete destruction of a residential block, leveling it to the ground. The aerial raids also targeted residential homes in Deir al-Balah city, causing massive destruction to infrastructure and private property of citizens.
The tents of displaced persons in the southern areas were not spared from the Israeli war machine, as aircraft launched a raid targeting tent gatherings crowded with thousands of displaced families. This raid resulted in the destruction of large parts of temporary shelters, exacerbating the suffering of displaced persons who are now homeless, without shelter to protect them from fluctuating weather conditions.
These continuous violations and night attacks have led to new and forced waves of displacement for Palestinians trying to escape imminent death. Displaced families face extreme difficulties in finding safe places, in light of the lack of alternative tents or shelters that can accommodate the increasing numbers of displaced persons.
The occupation imposes strict geographical restrictions by expanding what is called the 'Yellow Line,' which has practically led to the confiscation of more than 60% of the total area of the Gaza Strip. This spatial constriction crowds more than two million people into very narrow areas that lack the minimum necessities for a dignified life and are filled with waste and rubble.
These developments come amidst a catastrophic humanitarian reality experienced by the residents of the Strip, as the occupation continues to destroy basic living conditions through the systematic targeting of homes and tents. Options for civilians remain very limited with the continued siege and closure of all crossings that could provide them with protection or urgent relief.
The Israeli occupation has confiscated more than 60% of the Gaza Strip, where more than two million Palestinians live, amidst a pile-up of rubble and waste.
