Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi rejected a request from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to have the army begin distributing humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip instead of international humanitarian organizations.
According to Channel 12, Halevi opposed such a move and considered it very dangerous for the Israeli army.
She explained that Halevi prefers that international organizations take responsibility for distributing this aid in Gaza.
The cost of this project is estimated at 40 billion shekels annually.
