The European Union announced on Friday that it had allocated a new aid package worth 16 million euros to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
In a post on the “X” platform, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell affirmed the bloc’s commitment to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people.
He added that the European Commission today allocated 25 million euros to the Palestinian Authority, to fulfill its obligations towards its employees in the West Bank.
He explained that the Commission also allocated 16 million euros to UNRWA, to be used in activities related to Palestinian refugees.
This brings the value of European aid to the UN agency to 66 million euros, since the beginning of the current year 2024.
