The United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls, Reem Al-Salem, expressed her concern about the increasing cases of rape committed byIsraeli soldiers against women in Gaza.
Al-Salem explained in a post on the “X” platform that it is disgusting that these cases continue in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war for 6 months.
She stressed that rape and other types of sexual violence could be considered war crimes, crimes against humanity, or behavior that may constitute genocide.
The UN rapporteur called for an immediate halt to cases of violence against Palestinian women.
