International expert: The starvation in Gaza is a systematic process by Netanyahu's government.

International Expert: Starvation in Gaza is a Deliberate Plan by Netanyahu's Government

Alex de Waal, an expert on famine and humanitarian response, stated in an article in the "New York Times" that the process of starvation in the Gaza Strip is not a coincidence, but rather the result of deliberate Israeli decisions to restrict aid and prevent relief, with the international community failing to intervene effectively. He explained that famine does not occur randomly, but is intentionally manufactured, and that the suffering will leave lasting effects on children, particularly physically and mentally, threatening a complete social collapse that could lead to an explosion of chaos and violence.

The article quoted a UN-backed group stating that the worst scenarios of famine have already begun, and that the absence of an official classification of what is happening in Gaza as famine is no longer significant, given the severity of the situation on the ground. Since last March, Israel has tightened its grip on the Strip, claiming without evidence that Hamas is stealing UN aid, which has undermined the work of humanitarian agencies.

In May, the occupation imposed a new system for distributing aid through a private organization called the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," which is US-backed, leading to the exclusion of traditional agencies and a decline in the effectiveness of relief efforts. The food rations provided by the foundation are unbalanced and lack essential elements, especially for children suffering from malnutrition, as preparing these foods requires clean water and fuel that are unavailable in Gaza.

De Waal criticized the reduction of aid distribution centers from about 400 to only 4, and their opening for short periods, leading to gatherings near dangerous military sites, where residents faced gunfire and casualties during stampedes. He also downplayed the effectiveness of air drops, describing them as symbolic, as the quantities do not contribute effectively to alleviating the crisis and do not reach the most vulnerable groups.

He pointed out that the Israeli accusations against Hamas of looting aid are not supported by documented facts, although the UN proposed a plan to ensure transparency that includes monitoring through QR codes and GPS tracking, but it has not been activated. He explained that the current chaos, where food is looted or sold on the black market, is a direct result of "deliberate Israeli engineering," and that those who carry weapons do not suffer from hunger first.

In comparison to the situation in Sudan, De Waal confirmed that the disaster there is similar in terms of the severity of hunger, but the difference is that the international community in Gaza is ready and able to intervene immediately if there is political will. He concluded his article with a sharp message stating that Netanyahu's government could allow children in Gaza to have breakfast tomorrow if it wanted, and that what Palestinians need is real permission for relief teams to operate freely and efficiently, warning that the world cannot wait until children's graves are dug or it is declared that what happened is famine or genocide, and then simply say that it will not happen again.

UNICEF sounds the alarm: Children in Gaza are dying at an unprecedented rate

Jerusalem.com

UNICEF warns of the deteriorating situation of children in Gaza amid ongoing war and famine

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has warned of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where children are facing unprecedented mortality rates due to the ongoing blockade and the war that has been raging since October 7, 2023. Ted Chaiban, UNICEF's Deputy Executive Director, explained during a media briefing following his recent visit to the region that children are suffering greatly, with hunger and illness visible on their faces, and that current options will determine the fate of tens of thousands of them between life and death.

Chaiban noted that more than 18,000 children have died since the beginning of the conflict, emphasizing that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has become catastrophic, with the increasing threat of famine endangering the lives of the population, as one-third of the population spends days without food, and the rate of acute malnutrition has exceeded 16.5 percent, a dangerous indicator reflecting the worsening food and health crisis in the sector.

The UN official added that more than 320,000 children are currently at risk of acute malnutrition, and that the situation on the ground is inhumane, requiring a permanent ceasefire and a political path that ensures the end of suffering. He stressed the need to allow at least 500 trucks daily into the sector through all routes to provide essential humanitarian and commercial aid to the population.

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of victims of the Israeli starvation policy since the beginning of the war has risen to 162 deaths, including 92 children, after three deaths were recorded in the past twenty-four hours. These figures come amid the ongoing blockade and restrictions on the entry of aid, as Israel has started since May 27 a new mechanism for distributing food aid through four centers in the south and center of the sector, in cooperation with the United States.

Since the implementation of this mechanism, hospitals have received more than 1,330 Palestinian martyrs, in addition to more than 8,818 injured, due to repeated gunfire from the Israeli army on those waiting for aid, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. Reports confirm that the occupation is committing genocide that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop the aggression.

The aggressive operations have left more than 208,000 Palestinians dead or injured, the majority of whom are children and women, with more than 9,000 missing, and hundreds of thousands displaced, amid a famine that has claimed many lives and led to the destruction of infrastructure and the forced displacement of residents.

The President of Finland announces his readiness to recognize the State of Palestine.

The President of Finland expresses his readiness to recognize the State of Palestine if the government submits an official proposal

Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced his readiness to agree to recognize the State of Palestine, provided that his government submits an official proposal in this regard, expressing his stance on the unacceptable humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. This was stated in a post on the "X" platform on Thursday, where he noted that decisions by countries such as France, Canada, and Britain reinforce the trend towards recognizing Palestine, considering that this step is part of efforts to revive the peace process.

Stubb confirmed that recognizing a Palestinian state is a decision made by the head of state based on a proposal from the Cabinet, clarifying that if he receives this proposal, he will approve it. He also pointed out the existence of differing opinions and concerns within Finnish society regarding this issue, calling for an open and honest discussion on the subject. He explained that the far-right party "True Finns" and the "Christian Democrats" oppose recognizing Palestine, according to the French press agency.

On the other hand, Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo renewed his country's support for a two-state solution on Friday, without clarifying whether the government would submit an official proposal for recognition, indicating ongoing consultations with the president until the United Nations General Assembly convenes next September. These statements come amid a growing international movement to recognize the State of Palestine, especially with the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, which has resulted in the deaths and injuries of more than 208,000 people, mostly women and children, according to Palestinian data.

In a related context, Portuguese media revealed on Thursday the country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine during the upcoming session of the General Assembly, in a move similar to what countries like France, Canada, Britain, Malta, and Australia have announced. The recently held "Two-State Solution" conference in New York also called for granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations, instead of its current status as a "non-member observer state" since 2012.

Last week, 15 Western countries, including France, issued a collective call for recognizing the State of Palestine and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Spain, Norway, and Ireland also announced their official recognition of the State of Palestine last May, followed by Slovenia in June, bringing the total number of recognizing countries to 149 out of 193 UN member states.

Fidan: We reject Israel's efforts to displace Gaza and annex the West Bank.

Fidan Rejects Israeli Attempts to Displace Palestinians and Annex the West Bank

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan confirmed today, Friday, his country's firm rejection of any Israeli attempts to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and annex the occupied West Bank, emphasizing that Turkey will remain supportive of the Palestinian cause by all possible means.

In his meeting with a delegation from the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) headed by Mohammed Darwish in Istanbul, Fidan pointed to the continuation of Israeli policies that he described as genocide, by starving Palestinians in Gaza, affirming that these policies reflect the intention of the Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu not to commit to ceasefire efforts.

Fidan stated that Israel aims, through prolonging negotiations, to break the resistance of Palestinians in Gaza and force them to leave their homes, in an attempt to forcibly change the reality on the ground. He explained that the escalation of international pressures has led to increased recognition of the State of Palestine and growing isolation of Israel day by day, affirming that Turkey will continue its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause.

On the other hand, the Palestinian delegation clarified that the aid that Israel recently allowed into Gaza does not meet the needs of the population, especially in light of the worsening famine and malnutrition, which particularly affects children. They noted that the devastating war on the sector, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in over 208,000 martyrs and injured, most of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing and hundreds of thousands displaced.

Gaza is experiencing a suffocating siege and closure of crossings to humanitarian aid since last March, which has increased the suffering of the population, amid ongoing military operations that are destroying infrastructure and exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in an unprecedented manner.

U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff Visits the Protest Site of Families of Detainees in Tel Aviv

U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff visited the protest site in central Tel Aviv on Saturday, where families of Israeli detainees held in Gaza for several months are demanding the release of their loved ones.

During the meeting, Witkoff expressed his country's solidarity with the protesters' demands, affirming that the United States continues to support mediation efforts aimed at reaching an agreement that ensures the release of prisoners, whether they are Palestinian or Israeli.

This visit comes amid increasing internal pressure on Benjamin Netanyahu's government, as the families of the detainees are calling for intensified political efforts and acceptance of a prisoner exchange deal to end their children's suffering, especially with over nine months having passed in some detention cases.

This visit is an indication of the U.S. administration's interest in the prisoners' issue, as part of its broader policy to calm the situation in Gaza and work on reducing tensions between the concerned parties.

Sources: Trump aims to include Azerbaijan and countries in Asia in the "Abraham Accords"

Trump seeks to include Azerbaijan and Asian countries in the Abraham Accords to strengthen relations

Five informed sources told Reuters that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is actively discussing with Azerbaijan the possibility of including it and some Central Asian countries in the Abraham Accords, aiming to enhance its relations with Israel. This move comes as part of efforts to expand the Abraham Accords established in 2020 and 2021, which saw four Muslim-majority countries normalize their relations with Israel following U.S. mediation.

The sources clarified that Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries, which have long-standing relations with Israel, would benefit from the expansion of the accords in areas of trade and military cooperation, although the expansion would be largely symbolic. However, the rising death toll in Gaza and the famine in the sector, resulting from the obstruction of aid and Israeli military operations, has led to increased Arab anger, hindering efforts to add other Muslim-majority countries to the accords.

Health authorities in Gaza indicated that the war has claimed the lives of more than 60,000 people, including women and children, which has sparked global outrage, and Canada, France, and Britain announced their intention to recognize an independent Palestinian state. Additionally, the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which is a prerequisite for Azerbaijan's inclusion in the Abraham Accords, represents a major point of contention, as discussions have focused on the necessity of achieving peace between the two countries in the Caucasus region.

In this context, Trump's special envoy for peace, Steve Whitehouse, visited Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, in March to discuss the possibility of reaching an agreement, and met with President Ilham Aliyev. His assistant, Aryeh Lightstone, also met with Aliyev to discuss the details of expanding the accords. Officials from Azerbaijan have also reached out to their counterparts in Central Asian countries, such as Kazakhstan, to gauge their interest in the initiative, although the positions of other countries remain unclear.

The U.S. State Department stated that expanding the accords is one of the main objectives of the Trump administration, while the Azerbaijani government declined to comment, and the White House, Israeli Foreign Ministry, and Kazakhstan Embassy did not respond to requests for comment.

The government appeals to the international community to exert pressure to open the crossings of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian government issued an urgent call to the international community and its humanitarian institutions to exert more pressure on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings of the Gaza Strip for the entry of aid trucks that are piling up in the vicinity of Gaza, at a time when food insecurity levels have reached 100%, according to reports from specialized UN institutions, and to stop the escalating use of hunger as a weapon to kill our people in the sector that is facing a genocide.

The Palestinian government also praised, in a statement issued today, Saturday, the ongoing efforts made by international humanitarian and UN institutions that provide their contributions to our starving people in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the need to secure more resources necessary to complete relief operations on a wider scale as soon as larger quantities of aid are allowed in and a ceasefire is established.

The government expressed its high appreciation for the joint coordination between Jordan, the UAE, France, Spain, and Germany, which led to the air dropping of aid packages over the sector, amid the escalating hunger crisis reaching unprecedented dangerous and catastrophic levels.

The United Nations warns of the ongoing massacres and humanitarian disaster in Gaza.

The United Nations Warns of Ongoing Massacres and Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza

The United Nations Office for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories reported that the occupying forces committed a new massacre in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, killing 105 Palestinians and injuring more than 680 others during the days of July 30 and 31, in the areas of Zikim and Morag near Khan Younis. The office confirmed that the occupying forces continued to fire and bombard Palestinians gathered around aid convoys, despite the occupying army announcing a temporary halt to military operations in western Gaza during specified hours, aimed at improving humanitarian response.

The report indicated that the number of Palestinians who were martyred while searching for food since the beginning of the blockade on May 27 reached 1,373, of whom 859 were near the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" and 514 on the roads leading to aid convoys. It clarified that the majority of the victims were men and boys, with no evidence of their involvement in hostile acts or threats to security. The number of deaths among children, the elderly, the sick, and the disabled has also increased due to famine and malnutrition, as they are unable to reach areas where aid is available, and there is a lack of sufficient humanitarian support for them.

The United Nations confirmed that what is happening in Gaza is a "human-made humanitarian catastrophe" resulting from the policies imposed by the occupation, which have led to a sharp reduction in the quantities of essential life-saving aid. It emphasized that targeting civilians not participating in hostilities and using starvation as a method of warfare by depriving the population of basic needs and preventing the arrival of aid constitutes war crimes, and may rise to crimes against humanity if committed as part of a systematic attack on civilians.

Since the beginning of March, the occupation has renounced the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas, which began on January 19, and resumed acts of killing and destruction, rejecting all international initiatives to stop the aggression. Despite UN and Palestinian warnings of an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, the occupation continues to close the crossings of the Gaza Strip since March 2, as part of the systematic starvation policy it uses as a weapon against the Palestinians.

It is noteworthy that since October 7, 2023, the occupation has been waging a genocidal war on Gaza, including killing, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop the aggression. This war, directly supported by the United States, has resulted in the death and injury of more than 204,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has led to the deaths of many Palestinians.

Democratic leaders urge Trump to end the war on Gaza

Democratic Leaders Urge Trump to End the War on Gaza and Resume Negotiations

Leaders from the Democratic Party in the U.S. House of Representatives have called on President Donald Trump to take urgent steps to end the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip by working with all concerned parties to resume political negotiations. They emphasized in a joint letter that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is seriously worsening, with deteriorating living conditions for the population, rising levels of hunger, and the urgent need to significantly increase humanitarian aid.

The signatories of the letter pointed out that the continuation of military operations threatens to increase regional tensions and leads to an unbearable humanitarian disaster, demanding that Trump use all diplomatic leverage to push for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire and to achieve a lasting and just peace in the region. They affirmed that the military objectives of the war have long been achieved, and it is time to bring all parties back to the negotiating table without delay.

The Democratic leaders also stressed that a permanent ceasefire should be the primary goal of diplomatic efforts, firmly rejecting any plans aimed at forcibly displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. The letter was signed by Representatives Gregory Meeks, Rosa DeLauro, Jim Himes, and Jamie Raskin, coinciding with the visit of U.S. envoy Stephen Wittykoff to the region, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and visited a relief center in Rafah in southern Gaza.

Wittykoff stated that he spent more than five hours inside Gaza, meeting with officials from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and other relief agencies, aiming to clearly understand the humanitarian situation. He explained that his visit aims to assist in developing a new plan to deliver food and medical aid to the needy population and to work on improving the humanitarian situation in the sector.

For his part, the U.S. president confirmed that Wittykoff's meetings in Israel focused on ways to bring food and medicine into Gaza, expressing the importance of feeding the population in the sector, noting that the priority now is to provide the basic needs of the civilian population.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza announces the entry of trucks carrying medicines and medical supplies through the World Health Organization

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced that on Saturday, August 2, 2025, trucks loaded with medicines and medical supplies will arrive at hospitals in the sector, through the World Health Organization (WHO).

The ministry clarified that the incoming trucks do not contain food items, but rather essential and highly important supplies, which are classified as high-need categories, aimed at supporting the health sector and continuing to provide care for patients and the injured.

The ministry confirmed that these medicines and medical supplies are crucial for saving the lives of critical cases and providing necessary treatment amid the difficult humanitarian conditions the sector is experiencing.

The Ministry of Health also issued an urgent appeal to citizens, dignitaries, families, and relevant parties to protect the convoy and ensure its safe arrival at hospitals, and not to interfere with it, to guarantee the continuity of health services.

This step comes as part of international efforts to support the health sector in Gaza, especially in light of the ongoing blockade and the difficult humanitarian conditions faced by the population, which significantly affect the availability of essential medicines and medical supplies.

Dozens of dead and wounded as the occupation targets the gatherings and tents of the displaced.

The Destruction and Casualties in Gaza Escalate as the Israeli Aggression Against Civilians Continues

The Gaza Strip witnessed a dangerous escalation in the pace of Israeli aggression today, as dozens of Palestinians were martyred and injured due to the occupation's targeting of displaced persons' camps and citizens' homes, amid ongoing systematic demolitions of neighborhoods and destruction of homes.

A source at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital reported that a Palestinian was martyred in an Israeli airstrike targeting the west of Al-Zawayda town in the central Gaza Strip, while the martyrdom of five other Palestinians was announced in an airstrike that targeted a residential apartment in the same town.

In Deir al-Balah, local media reported that the targeting of a house belonging to the Al-Qurainawi family resulted in the death of four Palestinians and injuries to several others, while a young man was martyred in a bombardment that targeted a house in the Al-Yarmouk neighborhood in the Al-Daraj area of Gaza City, according to local sources.

In the context of targeting humanitarian aid, 12 Palestinians were killed while gathering in front of a distribution center belonging to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation near the Netzarim axis in the central Gaza Strip, as they awaited aid trucks, amid conditions of hunger and malnutrition suffered by the population due to the ongoing siege.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society clarified that more than 90 people were injured and transferred to Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza after the occupation forces targeted aid gatherings, while the previous day's toll reported the killing of 15 Palestinians near an aid center in Rafah, including children and women.

In the southern Gaza Strip, a source at Nasser Medical Hospital confirmed that three Palestinians were martyred and others injured due to a drone strike targeting tents of displaced persons west of Khan Younis city, where the occupation forces also targeted the vicinity of the Al-Amal neighborhood and launched airstrikes on the Japanese neighborhood, in addition to shelling by warboats on the Rafah beach.

On Friday, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced the death of about 82 Palestinians, including 49 aid seekers, and the injury of 554 others in various areas of the Strip, with the aggression continuing since the beginning of last March, which resulted in the death of about 9,163 Palestinians and the injury of more than 35,000, according to official data.

Since the beginning of the ongoing aggression on October 7, 2023, Israeli operations have resulted in the death of more than 60,000 Palestinians and the injury of more than 147,000, in a scene described as a genocide targeting civilians and infrastructure in the Strip systematically.

"The tsunami of recognition of the State of Palestine is sweeping the world."

Dr. Abdul Majid Suwailem: Some European countries no longer see any strategic interest in unconditional support for Israel and consider that this support has harmed their political interests

Nizar Nazzal: The tsunami of recognition of the State of Palestine reflects a profound European shift, but it does not necessarily mean that the state is at the doorstep

Dr. Saad Nimer: The announcement by 15 countries of their intention to recognize the Palestinian state is merely a symbolic step aimed at evading decisive positions against Israel

Noor Awda: The State of Palestine on the 67 borders has been in place since 1988, and recognition should not be treated as a favor but as a legal political act that carries clear obligations

Dr. Nadia Sabra: Palestinians may be granted recognition, but they will not achieve a state unless the balance of power changes, and "a state that is seized is not like a state that is gifted"

Firas Yaghi: Unless Europe takes real measures against Israel, such as the sanctions previously imposed on South Africa, the dream of a Palestinian state will remain postponed

In an unprecedented political scene for decades, the world is witnessing a "tsunami" of successive European recognitions of the State of Palestine, which may reflect a fundamental change in the global political mood towards the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, coinciding with the announcement by about 15 countries of their intention to recognize Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967. This shift is described by observers as the beginning of a fracture in traditional Western support for Israel and an expression of increasing popular pressures demanding justice for Palestinians, especially in light of the ongoing crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Writers, political analysts, specialists, and university professors, in separate conversations with "Y," believe that this accelerating wave of recognitions does not come in isolation from broader political contexts, the most prominent of which is the decline of European trust in American policy, and the rise of new political currents in Europe pushing for more independent positions in line with international law and human rights. Additionally, Israel's moral exposure before global public opinion, following the massacres in Gaza, has contributed to accelerating this shift, restoring momentum to the Palestinian cause internationally, even at the level of political discourse.

They point out that despite this diplomatic momentum, the fundamental question remains: Does this recognition lead to a real Palestinian state, or is it merely a symbolic step that lacks implementation tools? Despite the notable shift in the positions of some countries, structural obstacles remain, whether within Israel with laws preventing negotiations on the Palestinian state, or in the absence of binding international measures against the occupation towards practical steps to establish the Palestinian state. Nevertheless, some see recognition as an attempt to beautify international impotence, while others view it as a historic opportunity, but the future of the Palestinian state remains contingent on a balance of power that has not yet shifted.

Increasing popular pressures demanding justice for Palestinians

Political writer and analyst Dr. Abdul Majid Suwailem believes that the wave of European recognitions of the State of Palestine, the latest being the intention of about 15 countries, reflects disparities between countries that have succumbed to increasing popular pressures demanding justice for Palestinians, and others that are trying to formulate an independent position distancing themselves from the traditional policies of the United States, which has long supported Israel unconditionally.

Suwailem clarifies that some European countries no longer see any strategic interest in unconditional support for Israel, but rather consider that this support has harmed Europe’s political interests as a whole.

Suwailem emphasizes that this change reflects an increasing European sentiment that the United States is no longer a trustworthy partner, having turned its back on its allies and confined its alliances within narrow frameworks that serve the agenda of the American right, which has "suspicious" and intertwined relations with the Israeli right, based on racism, political savagery, and shared interests.

Suwailem highlights the character of American President Donald Trump, describing him as a "failed showman" who has not achieved any notable political success and possesses a "volatile personality, lacking in sobriety and wisdom."

Suwailem points out that Trump's humiliating treatment of some world leaders – including French President Emmanuel Macron – reflects a state of political and moral contempt rooted in his leadership of the United States.

Suwailem believes that this behavior has contributed to increasing European discontent with Washington and a decline in trust in its leadership of the world, prompting many countries to reconsider their alliances and foreign policies

Hebrew media: Zamer may threaten to resign due to the stalled prisoner exchange deal.

Hebrew Media: Possibility of Zamir's Resignation Due to Stalled Prisoner Exchange Deal

Hebrew media reported that tensions have escalated between Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir and Benjamin Netanyahu's government, with indications of a possible resignation if the deadlock in the prisoner exchange negotiations with Hamas persists. The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" stated that Zamir is at a critical crossroads in his relationship with the political leadership, and he has the option of resignation as the only solution if the negotiations fail.

This tension comes after 150 days since Zamir took office, amid increasing disagreements with the government regarding the management of the file of prisoners held in Gaza, and the continuation of military operations without a clear political plan. The newspaper noted that the crisis goes beyond usual disagreements and has worsened due to statements and behaviors from some ministers during meetings of the security cabinet, which were described as an institutional insult to the army.

The newspaper states that reaching a prisoner exchange deal could alleviate the crisis within the security establishment, but continued failure in the file may push Zamir to reassess his continuation in office. On the other hand, Channel 12 reported from informed sources that Zamir expressed his dissatisfaction with the rising tensions between the political and military leadership, and demanded clear decisions regarding the continuation of the war on Gaza.

Reports indicated that Prime Minister Netanyahu tends to avoid making decisive decisions, leaving the management of field operations to the military establishment, in the absence of clear political guidance. This comes alongside a round of direct negotiations between Hamas and Israel that began on July 6 in Doha, under Qatari and Egyptian sponsorship, and with American support, aimed at reaching an agreement for a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire.

However, Israel and the United States recently announced the withdrawal of their teams from the negotiations for consultations, which was interpreted as an indication of the process stalling. Since the onset of the genocide on October 7, 2023, Israel continues to commit crimes of starvation against Palestinians in Gaza, having tightened its measures on March 2 by closing all crossings to humanitarian and medical aid, leading to a famine reaching catastrophic levels.

This genocide, supported by the United States, has left more than 208,000 Palestinians dead or injured, with over 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming many lives, amid the ongoing dangerous military and humanitarian escalation.

Israeli official: Reaching a comprehensive agreement in Gaza will take time.

Israeli Official: Reaching a Comprehensive Agreement in Gaza Requires Time and Long Efforts

The newspaper "Times of Israel" reported that an Israeli official said on Friday that progress towards a comprehensive agreement in Gaza depends on the continued efforts of the United States and Israel, noting that the current halt in negotiations complicates matters significantly. The official explained that if Washington and Tel Aviv abandon their efforts to reach a phased agreement with Hamas, achieving a comprehensive agreement would take a long time and would involve the release of all captives in exchange for ending the war.

He pointed out that negotiations have been stalled and face a deadlock since Israel and the United States withdrew their delegations from Doha, although Arab mediators have confirmed that the disagreements are still solvable, despite Hamas's response that has slowed the progress made so far. Currently, an agreement is being proposed that includes the release of 28 captives out of 50 during a two-month ceasefire, with the possibility of releasing the remaining captives if a permanent ceasefire agreement is reached during that period.

In a related context, the newspaper "Haaretz" quoted an Israeli source as saying that Tel Aviv has not yet made a decision regarding the occupation of Gaza or how military operations will proceed if negotiations with Hamas fail, expressing doubts about the possibility of resuming negotiations at this time. The source clarified that there is a prevailing sense of doubt regarding the possibility of reaching a ceasefire at the present time.

Earlier, the Israeli army issued a statement from Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, who confirmed that in a few days it will be known whether it is possible to reach an agreement regarding Gaza; otherwise, military operations will continue without interruption. Zamir said during a field tour: "I believe we will know in the coming days whether we will reach a partial agreement for the release of the hostages," adding that failing to reach that means the fighting will continue relentlessly.

Zamir also confirmed that Israeli forces have established a security zone in the sector, providing operational opportunities, including defending Israeli communities and maintaining a continuous offensive effort, while reducing the operational burden on the forces and avoiding falling into Hamas's traps. He considered that the current campaign of false claims about deliberate starvation is a deceptive attempt to accuse the Israeli army, which has confirmed that the only party responsible for the killing and suffering in Gaza is Hamas, and that the soldiers of the army act with integrity in accordance with international law.

The Jordanian and Emirati Foreign Ministers Agree to Enhance Efforts to Deliver Aid to Gaza

The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Emirati counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed discussed during an official meeting ways to enhance cooperation in efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as part of joint international efforts to assist the populations affected by the ongoing conflict.

The two ministers emphasized the importance of fully and swiftly opening all border crossings to ensure that aid enters all areas of the Strip immediately, stressing that air drops are not a substitute for land routes, but rather complement and support them under the current circumstances.

The ministers underscored the necessity of exerting all international efforts to achieve a permanent and immediate ceasefire in Gaza, with the aim of ending the humanitarian suffering and halting the ongoing military escalation.

In a related context, both Jordan and the UAE carried out an air drop of humanitarian aid, which also involved France, Germany, and Spain, aimed at providing urgent support to the populations affected by the conflict in Gaza.

These actions come as part of ongoing international efforts to support the Palestinian people, especially in light of the continuous military escalation, which has significantly deteriorated the humanitarian situation in the Strip.

The Israeli ambassador in the UAE faces an "ethical crisis".. what's the story?

The Israeli Ambassador in the UAE Faces an Ethical Crisis After Inappropriate Behavior

Israeli media revealed inappropriate behavior by the Israeli ambassador to the UAE, Yossi Shelley, leading to calls for his replacement after his involvement in scandalous conduct. An informed Israeli official reported that Shelley crossed a "major red line" during an outing in Abu Dhabi with friends, where he acted in a degrading manner, which the Emirati government learned about and expressed anger to Israel through unofficial channels.

The ambassador's security guards reported the incident to their superiors, while an Israeli official confirmed that harassment of women and physical assault is completely unacceptable. The bar incident was kept from the media for several months, although the UAE informed Israel through an intermediary that Shelley's behavior was unacceptable. Shelley now faces a difficult situation, as no one wants to meet with him, according to Israeli sources, while the Israeli Foreign Ministry declined to comment or allow him to respond.

Reports indicated that Shelley, a former head of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's staff, became angry with his security guards when they insisted on informing him of his desire to leave his residence two hours earlier than scheduled, with his angry remark: "What is this? Am I in prison?". He also transported guests in his car without identifying them, which jeopardized his security and was deemed irresponsible behavior.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported on discussions between the Israeli Foreign Ministry and Emirati authorities regarding Shelley's behavior, which his hosts considered disrespectful. Israel is currently seeking a new role for Shelley after his dismissal from his position, but the Prime Minister's office denied that there was a decision to return him to Israel. In a statement, the office confirmed that Netanyahu has not yet made that decision.

In a related context, Emirati sources conveyed that if it were not for Shelley's position, the UAE would have ordered him to leave the country. Shelley stated in a statement that he was informed of disrespectful behavior by Emiratis, that it occurred at a private event, and that he took the matter into consideration. A previous incident occurred last September on a flight to New York, where he suddenly hugged a flight attendant, a behavior that journalists deemed inappropriate, especially with the repeated inappropriate touching of women.

Shelley is 65 years old, is close to Netanyahu, and is an activist in the Likud party. He previously served as Israel's ambassador to Brazil, where he was ridiculed in 2019 after attempting to hide the serving of lobster during an official meeting using Photoshop, as it is considered forbidden food in Jewish law.

Lapid and Golan Attack Netanyahu's Government After Video of Prisoner Avitar in Gaza is Released

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized Benjamin Netanyahu's government on Friday after Hamas's military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, released a video of Israeli prisoner Avitar David, who is held in the Gaza Strip. Lapid urged government members to watch the video and reflect on the suffering of the prisoners, stating that they should imagine how Avitar is trying to survive inside the tunnel.

For his part, the leader of the opposition "Democrats" party, Yair Golan, accused Netanyahu of not securing the release of prisoners because he believes it harms his political interests, asserting that this is the truth. In a related context, the mother of the prisoner, Galya David, expressed her hope that her son is alive, noting that for the first time she dared to watch a recording showing him.

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that the families of the detained prisoners and former detainees demanded that the government quickly finalize a prisoner exchange deal to end their children's suffering in Gaza. The video released by the Al-Qassam Brigades showed prisoner Avitar suffering from severe weight loss due to Israel's starvation policy in Gaza, as he appeared sitting on a bed in a narrow room, with his bones visible due to malnutrition.

The video also included previous footage of him inside a car with another prisoner, watching the release ceremony of prisoners as part of a previous deal in January, and "Al-Qassam" confirmed that the prisoners have "eaten and drunk what we eat and drink," along with scenes of children in Gaza suffering from malnutrition amid the ongoing Israeli blockade.

In statements to the media, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was seen discussing the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, saying: "Allowing the minimum amount of aid to enter," while National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir stated: "I believe the next phase should include sending bombs to Gaza," referring to the continuation of the starvation policy.

Last February, "Al-Qassam" broadcast a video showing moments of the handover of Israeli prisoners, including Avitar, who appeared to be suffering from malnutrition, pleading with Netanyahu to save him and return to his homeland, expressing his shock at Israel's treatment of prisoners. The two prisoners confirmed that their lives are in danger and that they demand to return to their homes.

"Al-Qassam" accuses Israel of not caring about the lives of prisoners for its political interests, while Hamas and Israel began direct negotiations in Qatar last July, aimed at a prisoner exchange and a ceasefire, but the negotiations recently stalled after Washington and Tel Aviv withdrew their teams from Doha.

Since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israel has continued to impose a severe blockade, leading to widespread famine and the death and injury of thousands of Palestinians, including children and women, with hundreds of thousands displaced, amid a catastrophic deterioration of humanitarian conditions, and American support for the policies of occupation.

Arab Protests Demand an End to Israeli Starvation of Gaza and Support for the Palestinian Cause

Tens of thousands of protesters participated in several Arab countries, including Morocco, Mauritania, and Yemen, in demonstrations in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, demanding the opening of crossings for humanitarian aid and an end to the starvation policy implemented by Israel against the region.

In Morocco, the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Issues of the Nation organized 90 demonstrations in 58 cities, including cities like Taza and Oujda in the east, and El Jadida and Casablanca in the west, as well as Agadir in the southwest, following Friday prayers and at other times. Participants raised Palestinian flags and displayed images highlighting Israeli starvation policies, chanting slogans in support of the Palestinian cause and calling for continued support.

In Mauritania, hundreds of people took to the streets in protests in the capital Nouakchott, rejecting Israel's ongoing war of starvation and extermination against Gaza, demanding an end to the aggression against Palestinians. The demonstrations began after Friday prayers in front of the Grand Mosque, where participants raised Palestinian and Mauritanian flags, chanting slogans in support of armed factions in Gaza. These events were organized by the Student Initiative Against Zionist Penetration and in Defense of Just Causes, a non-governmental organization that organizes support activities for the Palestinian people.

In Yemen, tens of thousands demonstrated in several governorates, especially in Al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sana'a, with protests extending to other governorates such as Al-Hudaydah, Saada, and Ibb. Protesters raised Yemeni and Palestinian flags, alongside banners affirming steadfast solidarity with Gaza. These demonstrations come amid Israel's escalation of its policies, having closed all crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid since March 2, 2023, leading to widespread famine and catastrophic levels of hunger.

The Israeli operations, supported by the United States, have resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties, including martyrs and injured, among them children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals, as famine continues to claim many lives amid the escalating aggression aimed at exterminating the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Gaza War: UN Accusations Against Israel of Turning the Aid System into a "Death Trap,"

Gaza War Escalates with UN Accusations and Warnings of Famine and Bloody Clashes

The U.S. envoy to Gaza, Steve Witkoff, visited the enclave on Friday and promised to increase humanitarian aid amid rising international pressure on Israel due to the deteriorating humanitarian conditions. Before the visit, Human Rights Watch criticized the aid distribution system managed by Israel and the U.S. through the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," describing the system as having become a "death trap" for the residents of the enclave, where a war has been ongoing for more than two years between Israel and Hamas.

The United Nations warned that the Gaza Strip is facing the risk of widespread famine, especially as more than two million people primarily rely on food and medical aid. The Civil Defense in Gaza reported that 22 Palestinians were killed by Israeli army fire on Friday, including eight who were waiting for aid distribution, and two of them were killed near a distribution point belonging to the same foundation in the southern part of the enclave.

Commenting on Witkoff's visit, Louay Mahmoud, a resident of Gaza, said, "The visit is just a media stunt, and Israel will not see the real hunger, but will show the narrative it wants." Witkoff explained that the goal of his visit, which lasted more than five hours, was to provide a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation in Gaza and to devise a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the population, according to reports from U.S. media.

In a UN report, Human Rights Watch accused Israel of using the aid distribution system as a means to commit war crimes, stating that the killings targeting Palestinians seeking food are considered war crimes, and that starvation is being used as a weapon of war. It confirmed that the catastrophic humanitarian situation is a direct result of Israel's deliberate obstruction of aid entry and the securing of basic services, with Israeli investigations into civilian casualties near distribution areas.

In the context of aid, several countries have begun conducting air drops of food aid, as footage from Gaza showed residents rushing to the packages dropped from the air in areas like Jabalia. The Jordanian army announced the execution of seven air drops to deliver humanitarian and food aid, with the participation of several countries, and the total cargo since the beginning of operations has reached about 148 tons of essential materials.

Regarding the aid, the Commissioner of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, confirmed that the current aid is insufficient, and that six thousand trucks loaded with aid are waiting to enter the enclave. The Fatah movement rejected Hamas's statements attacking Egypt and Jordan, affirming its historical support for the Palestinian people, and warned against some parties exploiting the situation to achieve external interests that harm the Palestinian cause.

In response to Trump's statements, Hamas described the accusation of stealing aid as "false and unfounded," asserting that U.S.-backed Israeli policies are the cause of famine and destruction in Gaza. It called on Washington to support the safe delivery of aid through the United Nations, considering that Trump's claims exonerate the occupation and place the blame on the victim.

In field developments, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released a video of an Israeli hostage named Evitar David, showing him suffering from fatigue and emaciation after being captured during the Nova music festival in October 2023. It is noted that among the 251 hostages, 49 are still held in Gaza, including 27 believed to have been killed by Israel.

In another context, the Israeli army announced the interception of a missile launched from Yemen, while the Houthis claimed responsibility for the operation, with their spokesperson confirming that the missile targeted Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, explaining that the operation successfully achieved its goal with a hypersonic missile of the type Palestine 2, while explosions were heard in Jerusalem following the missile launch.

Death toll in Gaza due to starvation rises to 162, including 92 children

The number of deaths in the Gaza Strip is rising due to the starvation policy continuously implemented by Israel, with the number of victims increasing day by day, as the humanitarian situation deteriorates dangerously. The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the toll of victims from the starvation policy has reached 162 deaths, including 92 children, after recording three new deaths in the past twenty-four hours.

In a statement issued by the ministry, it noted that hospitals in the sector recorded three new deaths in the last day due to malnutrition and famine, including two children, raising the total number of victims since the beginning of October 2023 to this tragic number. The ministry confirmed that the humanitarian crisis continues amid the tightened Israeli blockade and the shortage of food and medical supplies, calling on the international community and humanitarian organizations for urgent and immediate intervention to deliver essential aid to the sector.

In a related context, the World Food Programme warned on July 27 that a third of Gaza's population had not eaten for days due to the ongoing blockade. Ross Smith, the program's emergency preparedness and response director, stated that the hunger crisis in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels of despair, with a third of the population facing hunger for several consecutive days. He explained that about 100,000 children and women are suffering from acute malnutrition, and that conditions in the sector have become very similar to famine.

Since the beginning of the genocide in October 2023, Israeli occupation crimes, including the starvation of Palestinians, have continued, as Israel tightened its measures on March 2 by closing all crossings to humanitarian, relief, and medical aid, leading to the spread of famine and reaching "catastrophic" levels. Although the occupation allowed some trucks carrying aid to enter since last Sunday, this is not enough, as the sector needs more than 600 trucks daily to save the lives of the population, yet the occupation facilitated their theft and provided protection for it.

These Israeli policies, supported by the United States, have resulted in hundreds of thousands of martyrs and wounded, with more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, and famine that has claimed the lives of many innocents, especially children and women, amid the ongoing military and humanitarian escalation in the sector.

Netanyahu postpones decision on military operation in Gaza until next week

A source told CNN that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has decided to postpone making a decision regarding military actions in the Gaza Strip until next week, amid disagreements within the Israeli government over the course of a potential military operation. The source explained that one of the options being considered is to impose a blockade on the city of Gaza and other populated areas, while another plan involves a direct invasion of the city, with some ministers opposing these options and supporting different plans.

In a related context, a senior Israeli official mentioned that Israel and the United States are working on formulating a new understanding regarding Gaza, following Hamas's withdrawal from ceasefire negotiations and a prisoner exchange deal. He noted that both sides intend to increase humanitarian aid as military operations continue, despite Hamas's withdrawal from negotiations, which came after U.S. special envoy Steve Wittekov accused the movement of "negotiating in bad faith."

The Israeli official expressed his country's and the United States' readiness to return to Doha if Hamas changes its position, as the movement announced its commitment to continue negotiations for a permanent ceasefire, with the necessity of significantly improving humanitarian conditions in the sector before resuming talks. These developments come amid a catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, where residents are suffering from severe food shortages, with dozens dying of hunger, according to the United Nations, which confirmed that all 2.1 million residents of the sector are experiencing food insecurity.

Reports from the Ministry of Health in Gaza indicate that about 900,000 children are suffering from hunger, with 70,000 of them showing signs of malnutrition. Bassam Naeem, a leader in Hamas, stated that improving the humanitarian situation is the primary condition for returning to negotiations, emphasizing that the movement is ready to enter immediate negotiations as soon as aid arrives and a solution to the humanitarian crisis and famine is found. He explained that continuing negotiations under famine conditions undermines their effectiveness and threatens their essence.

In a related context, leader Mahmoud Al-Mardawi pointed out that continuing negotiations without improving humanitarian conditions in Gaza is futile, and that the movement is considering hardening its stance in negotiations. This comes after the U.S. and Israeli delegations withdrew from the Doha talks, where the U.S. envoy accused Hamas of "negotiating in bad faith."

Trump Orders Deployment of Two Nuclear Submarines in Response to Provocative Russian Statements

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a decision to deploy two nuclear submarines in response to "extremely provocative" statements made by a Russian official, as announced via his platform on Truth Social. Trump stated that the order was based on remarks he described as very provocative by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, which could lead to an unexpected escalation in tensions between the two countries.

Trump did not specify the location where the submarines would be deployed, nor did he clarify whether the submarines are nuclear-powered or carry nuclear warheads, leaving room for interpretations regarding the nature of the anticipated military mission. He confirmed that the order was a precautionary measure, expressing hope that the statements would not lead to unintended consequences.

Medvedev, who currently serves as Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, strongly criticized Trump's statements on the Telegram platform, where he referred to the "dead hand" system, an automated nuclear weapons control system developed by the Soviet Union during the Cold War to manage the Russian nuclear arsenal. This comment came after Trump criticized the "dead economy" of Russia and India, considering Trump's deadline for Moscow to end the war in Ukraine as a threat and a step toward war.

In a related context, Trump threatens to impose strict economic sanctions on Russia, particularly secondary sanctions targeting countries that purchase oil from Moscow, aiming to reduce the revenues that fund Russian military operations in Ukraine. Trump had reaffirmed his willingness to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin after attempting to reach out to him and criticizing the aid provided by Washington to Kyiv during the administration of his predecessor Joe Biden.

However, Putin's lack of response to Trump's initiatives, especially regarding a ceasefire in Ukraine, has led to significant disappointment and frustration for the U.S. president, who sees Moscow's stance as obstructing peace efforts and escalating the conflict. The statements and tensions between the two countries continue to rise, with ongoing discussions about military and economic options to respond to Russian escalation.

UNICEF Warns of Unprecedented Child Deaths in Gaza Amid Deteriorating Humanitarian Conditions

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has warned that the child mortality rate in the Gaza Strip is unprecedented, due to famine and the ongoing deterioration of humanitarian conditions since the start of the Israeli war on October 7, 2023. UNICEF's Deputy Executive Director, Ted Chaiban, explained during a press briefing that children are suffering deeply, with hunger evident on their faces, and that current choices will determine the fate of tens of thousands of children.

During his recent trip to the Middle East, Chaiban visited Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, including Gaza and the West Bank, where he confirmed that the situation in Gaza is extremely tragic. He stated, "We are at a crossroads, and the decisions made now will determine whether children will survive or die."

He noted that more than 18,000 children have been killed since the beginning of the war, and the threat of famine endangers the lives of the population, with one in three people in Gaza going days without food, as the acute malnutrition rate exceeds 16.5 percent, which is above the famine threshold. He confirmed that more than 320,000 children are at risk of acute malnutrition.

Chaiban emphasized that the situation in Gaza is "inhumane," and that the solution lies in a permanent ceasefire and a political path that allows for progress. He called for the entry of at least 500 trucks daily through all routes to provide humanitarian and commercial aid, stressing the need for a regular flow of assistance.

In a related context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of victims of the Israeli starvation policy has risen to 162 deaths since October 7, including 92 children, after recording 3 deaths in the last 24 hours. Since May 27, Israel has imposed a new mechanism for distributing food aid through the crossings of the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the United States, through the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" at four distribution centers in the southern and central Gaza Strip.

Since the start of this mechanism, more than 1,330 Palestinian fatalities and over 8,818 injuries have been reported in hospitals due to repeated gunfire on those waiting for aid, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza. Israel, supported by the United States, is accused of committing genocide that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to cease military operations.

These operations have left more than 208,000 Palestinians dead or injured, with over 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming many lives. Conditions continue to escalate, with humanitarian conditions deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, amid international calls to stop the aggression and open safe humanitarian corridors.

UN Sources: Israel Kills 105 Aid Seekers in Gaza Over Two Days

The United Nations Office for Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories reported that Israeli forces directly targeted Palestinians during their attempts to obtain humanitarian aid, killing 105 of them and injuring at least 680 others along the convoy routes in the Zikim area north of Gaza and Morag south of Khan Younis on July 30 and 31.

The office noted the continued gunfire and shelling of Palestinians by Israeli forces along the food aid routes, especially around sites known as the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation." Despite the Israeli army announcing on July 27 a "temporary halt to military operations" in the western areas of Gaza City up to the Mawasi, attacks continued during specific hours aimed at "improving humanitarian response," according to the UN office's statement.

The office recorded that the number of Palestinians who have been martyred while searching for food since the beginning of the blockade on May 27 has reached at least 1,373, of whom 859 were martyred around the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" and 514 along the aid convoy routes. It emphasized that these victims, most of whom are men and boys, are not just numbers, and there is no information indicating that these Palestinians were participating in hostilities or posed a threat to Israeli forces or any other party.

The office also pointed to the increasing number of Palestinians, including children, the elderly, the disabled, and the sick, who are dying as a result of malnutrition and famine, as these individuals often lack support and cannot access locations where minimal amounts of humanitarian aid are available.

It clarified that what is happening is a "man-made humanitarian disaster," and that the policies imposed by Israel have led to a sharp reduction in the amounts of essential aid needed for survival in Gaza. The office reiterated that targeting civilians not directly participating in hostilities and using starvation as a method of warfare by depriving populations of essential elements constitutes war crimes. If these acts are committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack against civilian populations, they may amount to crimes against humanity.

U.S. Envoy Visits Gaza and Establishes New Aid Plan Amid Israeli Withdrawal from Military Operations

Steve Weitkoff, envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, visited the Gaza Strip yesterday as part of efforts to coordinate a new humanitarian aid plan for the region suffering from the effects of the ongoing war. Weitkoff, accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, inspected a center run by the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" in the city of Rafah, which is considered one of the partners responsible for casualties during aid distribution operations, according to the United Nations.

Sources indicated that the visit comes in the context of an attempt to establish a new plan for providing food and medical aid to the residents of Gaza, amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis and escalating tensions on the ground. Weitkoff confirmed via the "X" platform that the goal of the visit is to give the Trump administration a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and to help formulate an effective plan for delivering aid to those in need.

In a related context, the Israeli army has reduced its forces in the sector, withdrawing the 98th Division from northern Gaza after the completion of its mission, a move that comes after weeks of tensions and indirect negotiations regarding a ceasefire and prisoner exchange. This action occurs amid stalled negotiations and clashes between the army and the far-right current in the Israeli government, which strongly opposes any reduction in military operations.

In a related context, a source from Hamas conveyed to the "Middle East" newspaper that mediators relayed Israel's oral response, which was described as unencouraging, reflecting the complexities of the situation on the ground and the continuation of military and political escalation.

Trump announces a plan to feed the residents of Gaza and emphasizes the need for its implementation long ago

Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a phone interview with "Axios" on Friday morning his efforts to launch a plan aimed at providing food for the residents of Gaza, expressing his deep concern over the worsening famine crisis in the region.

Trump said, "We want to help people. We want to help them live. We want to feed them. This should have happened a long time ago," adding that the humanitarian situation in Gaza requires urgent intervention.

Regarding aid, Trump held Hamas responsible for stealing part of the humanitarian aid funded by the United States, although an internal U.S. government report found no widespread evidence of Hamas stealing the aid.

Trump also noted that he had not received a briefing from his envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, who visited a controversial aid distribution site in Gaza run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, without disclosing details of the plan or whether it would include additional support for the foundation.

This announcement comes amid the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, amidst ongoing political tensions and international efforts to find solutions to the worsening humanitarian crisis, especially with the continued blockade and shortage of essential materials.

Democrats warn GHF security personnel of war crimes

Washington - Saeed Erekat

Four Democratic members of Congress said Thursday that security companies employing American veterans in a controversial food distribution operation in Gaza put them at risk of criminal charges under US laws relating to war crimes, torture, and forced displacement.

In a letter to the two companies' CEOs, Senator Peter Welch, D-Vermont, and three other representatives expressed their "shock" at reports of the companies' "lethal" security operations on behalf of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

Members of Congress say news reports and eyewitnesses indicate that employees of Safe Reach Solutions and UG Solutions were "sent into Gaza armed to fight" and ordered by Israeli officials to use lethal force.

“As a result, we are deeply concerned that you may not have alerted your employees—or your investors—to the significant legal risks they face by conducting military-like operations on behalf of the Israeli government on territory outside the State of Israel,” the lawmakers said.

They asked companies to answer a series of questions about whether they warned their employees of the legal risks they might face, including from international courts, and to maintain records related to their interactions with the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

This letter, seen by the Jerusalem correspondent, represents the latest escalation of pressure from Congress - all of which has so far come from Democrats - on the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and the contractors who support its operations in the Middle East.

The organization was founded only in February and became the primary conduit for US- and Israeli-backed aid to Gaza after Israel lifted its comprehensive blockade at the end of May. It provided aid through four aid distribution centers controlled by the Israeli military and US mercenaries.

In response to a question from a Jerusalem correspondent regarding the failure of the GHF and its use of the four expansion centers as hunting grounds for the killing of Palestinians, the acting US State Department spokesman, Tommy Pigott, said that the organization has distributed nearly 100 million meals since the end of May, which translates to less than one meal for the residents of the Gaza Strip, all of which require cooking without access to clean water for cooking.

So far, more than 1,100 Palestinian civilians have been killed and thousands more wounded by the Israeli occupation army and American mercenaries.

The organization's decision to employ armed contractors at its sites, and its close cooperation with Israel, has drawn widespread condemnation from other aid organizations, which say it violates basic humanitarian principles. Some of the security contractors supporting its operations are former US military service members, including special operations veterans.

Senator Welch was joined by Senator Chris Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, and Democratic Representatives Joaquin Castro of Texas and Sarah Jacobs of California. Castro and Jacobs counties in San Antonio and San Diego, respectively, are home to large numbers of U.S. military veterans.

According to the United Nations, hundreds of people have died while trying to obtain aid from Gaza Humanitarian Foundation distribution points, many of them killed by Israeli fire.

The organization's head dismissed reports of chaos and violence at its distribution sites, calling them "Hamas misinformation," and boasted of its success.

A spokesperson for the foundation responded to the letter in a statement on Thursday.

"Our team looks forward to addressing the senators' concerns and all misinformation and misconceptions regarding our mission to feed the Palestinian people in Gaza," the spokesperson said. "Furthermore, we welcome the opportunity to reaffirm our continued support and call for cooperation and coordination with other humanitarian organizations to flood Gaza with aid."

Dozens of Democratic senators said in a letter earlier this week that the organization has failed to address the worsening crisis in Gaza and called on the Trump administration to expand aid through other nonprofit organizations.

More than 60,000 dead since the start of the genocidal war on Gaza

The death toll from the genocidal war and aggression waged by the Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip has risen to 60,332 dead and 147,643 wounded since October 7, 2023.

Medical sources reported on Friday that the death toll includes 9,163 dead and 35,602 injuries since March 18, when the occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip following the ceasefire agreement.

Over the past 24 hours, 83 dead, including one who was recovered, and 554 wounded have arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals as a result of the ongoing Israeli massacres and attacks.

It indicated that the number of aid victims who arrived at hospitals over the past 24 hours was 53, with more than 400 injured, bringing the total number of livelihood victims who arrived at hospitals to 1,383, and the total number of injuries to 9,218.

Medical sources said that ambulance and civil defense crews are finding it difficult to reach the victims, as a large number remain buried under the rubble and debris, and on the streets.

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun’s: China is appalled by the U.S. sanctions on the Palestinian Authority (PA) and (PLO)

CCTV: On July 31, the U.S. State Department announced sanctions against officials of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) because they take actions to internationalize its conflict with Israel such as through the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice, continue to support terrorism including incitement and glorification of violence and provide payments and benefits in support of terrorism. The U.S. said it is in their national security interests to impose consequences and hold the PLO and PA accountable. What’s China’s comment?

Guo Jiakun: China is appalled by the U.S. sanctioning officials of the Palestinian Authority (PA) and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). We find it disappointing and hard to understand that the U.S. keeps turning a blind eye to the international effort for peace. The question of Palestine lies at the heart of the Middle East issue. It is a matter of international fairness and justice. As the Palestinian question is at a crucial historical juncture, the international community, the U.S. in particular, should uphold justice and fairness, take on responsibility, earnestly implement relevant U.N. resolutions, and make an active effort for the proper settlement of the question rather than do the opposite.

China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights, the PA’s effective jurisdiction over all of Palestine’s territory, including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the comprehensive, just and lasting settlement to the Palestinian question on the basis of the two-State solution. China will continue to work with the international community to make relentless efforts for that.

France sends 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Friday that Paris will send four flights carrying 10 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Jordan.

"This is emergency aid, but it is still not enough" in the face of this dire situation, Barro told France Info.

A global hunger watchdog said on Tuesday that a famine scenario is unfolding in the Gaza Strip, with a sharp increase in malnutrition, the death of children under five from hunger-related causes, and severe restrictions on humanitarian access.
