"Netanyahu is dragging Jews against their will into his appalling adventure"

For Esther Benbassa and Jean-Christophe Attias, the Netanyahu government's accusation of anti-Semitism against any criticism of its actions locks Israel into a deadly logic.

When the UN denounced the state of famine in Gaza, Benjamin Netanyahu responded: "In the Middle Ages, every massacre of Jews was preceded by a campaign of defamation and lies. We were accused of spreading disease, of being parasites on the Gentiles. We were accused of poisoning wells. We were accused of killing Christian children for their blood." » And he concludes: "What the Jewish people were accused of in the Middle Ages and in the following centuries is what the Jewish state is accused of today."

Such a reaction is, of course, another, and particularly caricatured, variation on the classic Israeli propaganda argument, according to which all criticism of the State of Israel is ultimately inspired by an inevitably reprehensible anti-Semitism. Yet it is not just that. By saying "we," Netanyahu means: "We, the Jews." But this "we" does not exist. The Jews of Israel are not the Jews of the Diaspora. And the Jews of today are not the Jews of yesterday. Advertisement

Thus, to stick with this single example, Jews accused of ritual murder, in the Middle Ages but also later, up until the 19th century, in Damascus, for example, or even up until the beginning of the 20th, with the Beilis affair in Ukraine, were perfectly innocent of what they were accused of. No Christian child was ever ritually sacrificed by Jews in the run-up to Passover, nor was their blood used in the making of the unleavened bread eaten during this holiday.

Today, however, it is not "the Jews" as such who are being accused of imaginary crimes, but rather a state that is guilty of real crimes that rightly outrage the UN and so many citizens. The suffering, persecution, and slanderous accusations that so many Jews of past generations unjustly endured cannot allow Netanyahu to cloak himself in innocence. And nothing can justify associating all of today's Jews with the crimes currently being perpetrated in Gaza: the first person to be held accountable is the person who gave the orders. And everyone knows who this person gave the orders. It's Netanyahu.

The accused here is a sovereign, heavily armed state, defining its own policies and freely implementing them. This state and its Jewish citizens are quite simply a power. And this power must be held accountable. They have nothing to do with the minority scattered across the world that for centuries was the "Jewish people," devoid of territory, fragile, exposed to the prejudices of an often hostile majority, to discrimination and periodic violence, and quite incapable of reacting to them itself with force. Zionism and its project of creating a state for the Jews aimed precisely to break with this very condition: that of the Jew in exile.

A brief historical review is in order here. Jewish national aspirations took concrete form under the leadership of Theodor Herzl. The founder of modern political Zionism, he defined a coherent program based on diplomatic action and supported by a structured organization. At the first Zionist congress, which he convened in Basel in 1897, he spoke of the illusory nature of emancipation, recalled that Jews continued to be subject to discrimination and persecution, and attempted to demonstrate that the only solution to the Jewish problem was the creation of a national homeland in Palestine.

Zionism, a nationalist movement like so many others in Europe at that time, was therefore also a reaction to the growing antisemitism of the 1880s. Current events in France and elsewhere fueled its various trends, which combined at the end of the 19th century, characterized by political, social, and economic changes that destabilized societies engaged in modernity. And while it cannot be reduced to a simple matter of antisemitism, the Dreyfus Affair clearly illustrates this general shift in thinking. It would have a direct impact on Herzl.

The idea of creating a state for the Jews, for Herzl, his friends, and his successors, was therefore aimed, among other things, at permanently removing them from the scourge of antisemitism and its host of pogroms. The proclamation of the State of Israel in 1948, a state of refuge for those who had survived the horrors of the Holocaust, was therefore also the culmination of a long struggle, which began at the end of the 19th century. It nonetheless resulted in the uprooting of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fleeing to neighboring countries. The rejection of this uprooting and the dispossession that accompanied it ultimately led to the creation of a plan for an independent Palestinian state. The conflict only worsened over the decades. Following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, which caused the deaths of nearly 1,200 Israelis and the hostage-taking of 200 others, some of whom are still being held, Israel responded in a massive and disproportionate manner, resulting in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths. This destruction and killings affected women, children, and civilians. The official goal was the eradication of Hamas, using all available means, including starvation.

Netanyahu, anxious to remain in power at all costs, ceded everything to his ultra-religious, messianic, and supremacist allies. And today he faces a well-documented accusation: genocide. Israel's international isolation is now profound. Anti-Israeli hatred and anti-Semitism have increased tenfold, directly affecting Diaspora Jews, with Netanyahu and their "representative" institutions, such as the CRIF in France, having unwillingly dragged them into this appalling adventure.

The creation of a state for the Jews was supposed to put an end to anti-Semitism and its terrible consequences. On the contrary, this state only fuels them. Worse, its leader uses it to justify the worst and downplay the reality of the horrors he orders. The complete opposite of what Herzl and others had undoubtedly dreamed of.

Isolated, abandoned, rejected, hated by democratic countries and their populations, Israel is on the verge of becoming a new ghetto. An unimaginable step backward? Netanyahu has done it. Part of the Israeli population is leaving the country. Who will want to live in a ghetto anymore? As for the Jews of the Diaspora, they will, despite themselves, inherit a stigma reminiscent of a past we would have liked to be a thing of the past.

American Democrats turn their backs on Israel

In the year since the last DNC meeting, Democrats faced a reality in which Trump and the Republican-led Congress gave Netanyahu and Israel's far-right a blank check. The war grinds on, and Democratic discontent with Israel has reached unprecedented levels

Ben Samuels Ben Samuels

WASHINGTON – There was great hope among some Americans disillusioned with Israel that this week's Democratic National Committee's summer meeting in Minnesota would mark the party's next major steps in crafting both a plan for combating the Trump administration and articulating its own vision of leadership.

What was hailed as the party's first chance to formally challenge the U.S.-Israel status quo was, in reality, as futile as trying to hold back a tidal wave with a sandcastle.

A Tuesday panel discussed two resolutions that reflect the party's generational and ideological divide – one that has often been overstated in years past but is quickly coming to a head.

One resolution, introduced by a 26-year-old party member and endorsed by the College Democrats of America, called for an arms embargo and suspended military aid to Israel.

Despite efforts to amend the resolution to focus on offensive weaponry and include language concerning Israeli hostages, the resolution and proposed amendments failed to advance. This was despite recent polls suggesting an increase in discontent among Democrats over America's current relationship with Israel.

The committee did advance DNC chair Ken Martin's resolution calling for a two-state solution, which aligns with longstanding Democratic policy but has become increasingly disconnected with facts on the ground amid Israel's settlement expansion and rightward shift.

Martin would eventually withdraw his resolution in favor of establishing a task force instead, to allow for "shared dialogue" on the matter moving forward.

The resolutions come just one year after the DNC platform acknowledged Gaza's "extreme suffering," only to qualify it with the usual caveats of ironclad commitments to Israeli security and the longstanding bilateral relationship.

In the 12 months since, Democrats have been forced to face a reality in which U.S. President Donald Trump and the Republican-held Congress have effectively provided Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's far-right government with a blank check.

Even still, Israel is no closer to achieving its supposed war aims in Gaza, the humanitarian crisis has credibly passed the threshold of famine, and the mass displacement of Palestinian civilians looms large as Israel is set to advance its occupation of Gaza City.

Democrats, accordingly, have grown discontented with Israel. An unprecedented 38 House Democrats are now formally backing efforts to halt U.S. military assistance, with 11 Democrats joining in the last month alone.

The shift is also reflected in Zohran Mamdani's surprising New York mayoral primary victory last month, the North Carolina state party's vote condemning Israel's "apartheid rule," and ongoing disruptions at lawmakers' town halls nationwide over their participation in congressional delegations to Israel organized by AIPAC-affiliated groups.

Beyond this, potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidates have already been forced to explain their own individual efforts at failing to hold Israel accountable and putting their own names on symbolic yet public efforts to shift the status quo.

The shifting conversation is not limited to symbolic legislation and votes, however. Support for the status quo has become associated with pro-Israel groups like AIPAC, now entering its third election cycle of endorsing and fundraising for candidates after decades of limiting itself to lobbying efforts.

Democratic Party activists and potential candidates have grown more vocal against Israeli policies and AIPAC's efforts to allegedly strongarm politicians from both parties into unconditional support for Israel. Rather than challenge the U.S.-Israel relationship, many see AIPAC and its United Democracy Project Super PAC as part of other big-money efforts that have fundamentally altered electoral politics in America.

AIPAC lauds its Super PAC's strength when beneficial, but downplays it whenever allegations of "buying elections" emerge as criticism. The Democratic Party, however, is clearly becoming more at odds with megadonors about Super PAC's involvement in party primaries.

No matter what happens at the DNC this week, the dam has already broken. Israel is now on the outside of the Democratic Party's mainstream, and only stands to find itself as more of a pariah as it continues down its current path.

The War on Truth: Why Palestinian Journalists Are Being Systematically Erased

Ramallah - “Al-Quds” dot com

Ramallah - “Al-Quds” dot com

Opinion Writer

Ramzy Baroud

The killing of seven Palestinian journalists and media workers in Gaza on August 10 and five more on August 25 has prompted verbal condemnations, yet has inspired little to no substantive action. This has become the predictable and horrifying trajectory of the international community’s response to the ongoing Israeli genocide.

By eliminating Palestinian journalists like Anas al-Sharif and Mohammed Qraiqeh, Israel has made a sinister statement that the genocide will spare no one. According to the monitoring website Shireen.ps, Israel has killed nearly 270 journalists since October 2023.

More journalists are likely to die covering the genocide of their own people in Gaza, especially since Israel has manufactured a convenient and easily deployed narrative that every Gazan journalist is simply a “terrorist”. This is the same cruel logic offered by numerous Israeli officials in the past, including Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who declared that “an entire nation” in Gaza “is responsible” for not having rebelled against Hamas, effectively stating that there are no innocent people in Gaza.

This Israeli discourse, which dehumanizes entire populations based on a vicious logic, is frequently repeated by officials who fear no accountability. Even Israeli diplomats, whose job in theory is to improve their country’s image internationally, frequently engage in this brutal ritual. In comments made in January 2024, Israeli ambassador to the UK, Tzipi Hotovely, callously argued that “every school, every mosque, every second house has access to tunnels,” implying that all of Gaza is a valid military target.

This cruelty of language would be easily dismissed as mere rhetoric, except that Israel has, in fact, according to Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor reports, destroyed over 70% of Gaza’s infrastructure.

While extremist language is often used by politicians around the world, it is rare for the extremism of the language to so precisely mirror the extremism of the action itself. This makes Israeli political discourse a uniquely dangerous phenomenon.

There can be no military justification for the wholesale annihilation of an entire region. Yet again, the Israelis are not shying away from providing the political discourse that explains this unprecedented destruction. Former Knesset member Moshe Feiglin chillingly said, last May, that “Every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy… not a single Gazan child will be left there.”

But for the systematic destruction of a whole nation to succeed, it must include the deliberate targeting of its scientists, doctors, intellectuals, journalists, artists and poets. While children and women remain the largest categories of victims, many of those killed in deliberate assassinations appear to be targeted specifically to disorient Palestinian society, deprive it of societal leadership, and render the process of rebuilding Gaza impossible.

These figures powerfully illustrate this point: according to a report released by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, based on the latest satellite damage assessment conducted in July, 97% of Gaza’s educational facilities have been affected, with 91% in need of major repairs or full reconstruction. Additionally, hundreds of teachers and thousands of students have been killed.

But why is Israel so intent on killing those responsible for intellectual production? The answer is twofold: one unique to Gaza, and the other unique to the nature of Israel’s founding ideology, Zionism.

First, regarding Gaza: Since the Nakba in 1948, Palestinian society in Gaza has invested heavily in education, seeing it as a crucial tool for liberation and self-determination. Early footage shows classrooms being held in tents and open spaces, a testament to this community’s tenacious pursuit of knowledge. This focus on education transformed the Strip into a regional hub for intellectual and cultural production, despite poorly funded UNRWA schools. Israel’s campaign of destruction is a deliberate attempt to erase this generational achievement, a practice known as scholasticide, and Gaza is the most deliberate example of this horrific act.

Second, regarding Zionism: For many years, we were led to believe that Zionism was winning the intellectual war due to the cleverness and refinement of Israeli propaganda, or hasbara. The prevailing narrative, particularly in the Arab world, was that Palestinians and Arabs were simply no match for the savvy Israeli and pro-Israeli public relations machine in Western media. This created a sense of intellectual inferiority, masking the true reason for the imbalance.

Israel was able to “win” in mainstream media discourse due to the intentional marginalization and demonization of Palestinian and pro-Palestinian voices. The latter had no chance of fighting back simply because they were not allowed to, and were instead labeled as “terrorist sympathizers” and the like. Even the late, world-renowned Palestinian scholar Edward Said was called a “Nazi” by the extremist, now-banned Jewish Defense League, who went so far as to set the beloved professor’s university office on fire.

Gaza, however, represented a major problem. With foreign media forbidden from operating in the Strip per Israeli orders, the Gazan intellectual rose to the occasion and, in the course of two years, managed to reverse most of Zionism’s gains over the past century. This forced Israel into a desperate race against time to remove as many Palestinian journalists, intellectuals, academics, and even social media influencers from the scene as quickly as possible—thus, the war on the Palestinian thinker.

The Israeli logic, however, is destined to fail, as ideas are not tied to specific individuals, and resilience and resistance are a culture, not a job title. Gaza shall once more emerge, not only as the culturally thriving place it has always been, but as the cornerstone of a new liberation discourse that is set to inspire the globe regarding the power of intellect to stand firm, to fight for what is right, and to live with purpose for a higher cause.

9 hours ago: The occupation continues to storm the city of Nablus, during which a citizen was arrested and homes were evacuated.

The Israeli occupation forces continue to invade the city of Nablus, having imposed a siege on the old town for about 9 hours. The incursion resulted in the arrest of one citizen and forced several families to evacuate their homes.

The occupation forces were present in the city with dozens of military vehicles, stationed in its center, where they began raiding and searching homes, leading to a state of fear and anxiety among the citizens.

Local sources reported that the occupation forces forced families in the Al-Qasbah neighborhood to evacuate their homes, informing them to return later. This action reflects the occupation's policy of pressuring Palestinian citizens.

The occupation forces spread throughout the neighborhoods of the city, deploying snipers in sensitive areas such as Sufyan Street and Martyrs' Square, which heightened tensions in the city.

The occupation forces also raided several shops in the Ras Al-Ain area, causing damage to private property and destruction.

Historically, the old town of Nablus has witnessed violent incursions, with one of the most intense operations occurring on June 11, 2025, when the occupation forces stormed the historic alleys amidst heavy gunfire.

During that operation, homes were looted, and some historical buildings were converted into military barracks, demonstrating the occupation's policy of destroying Palestinian heritage.

The continuation of these incursions reflects an escalation in the occupation's policy towards Palestinians, increasing their daily suffering under harsh conditions.

4 Palestinians killed and injured among aid seekers shot by the occupation in Khan Younis

Four citizens waiting for aid were killed and others were injured by the bullets of the occupation army near the aid center in Al-Tina, southwest of Khan Younis city, in the southern Gaza Strip. This incident comes at a time when the Israeli aggression on the Strip continues, with ongoing artillery shelling on the southern neighborhoods of Jabalia Al-Nazla in northern Gaza.

The occupation's aircraft also launched two airstrikes on agricultural land in the Al-Sawariha area west of the Al-Nuseirat camp in the central region, exacerbating the suffering of citizens who are already enduring difficult humanitarian conditions.

Since October 7, 2023, Gaza has been experiencing genocide that includes killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, as the occupation ignores all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop these violations.

Statistics indicate that the genocide in Gaza has resulted in the death of 62,819 individuals and 158,629 injuries, most of whom are children and women. There are also more than 9,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals.

The famine affecting the Strip has recorded the deaths of 303 citizens, including 117 children, as of Tuesday, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe that Gaza is experiencing under occupation.

The Guardian: Maryam Abu Daqqa departs as a martyr of truth amidst the world's silence.

The Palestinian journalist Maryam Abu Daqa, 33 years old, was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, causing great shock in media circles. Abu Daqa left two wills, one for her colleagues asking them not to cry at her funeral, and another for her 13-year-old son, Ghaith, urging him to make her proud.

Abu Daqa died alongside four other journalists while on their way to check on an injured colleague, having covered numerous reports during the war in Gaza. Her colleague Samaher Farhan described Abu Daqa as an inspiring figure, always striving to cover events despite the personal losses she endured.

Abu Daqa's professional journey began with tragedy, as she filmed the killing of her brother during the Great Return March in 2018. Despite the pain, she continued to work as a freelance journalist, collaborating with several agencies and newspapers, making her a model of dedication and professional commitment.

Abu Daqa showcased her humanity through her coverage of civilian tragedies, such as the image of the child Jamal Al-Najjar who died from malnutrition. She was known for her kindness and dedication to her work, as she did not stop covering events even after losing her mother and a close colleague.

The current war in Gaza is considered the deadliest ever for journalists, with more than 192 journalists martyred since the onset of the aggression on October 7, 2023. Abu Daqa had not seen her son for a year and a half, which added to her pain.

Abu Daqa's will to her son focused on achieving his dreams, as she wanted him to become a great businessman and to name his daughter Maryam in her honor. Abu Daqa was martyred without realizing her dream of embracing her son again.

The airstrike that claimed the lives of Abu Daqa and her colleagues is considered a war crime, as many international organizations view the attack on hospitals as a clear violation of international law. The spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights emphasized the need for accountability.

Many journalists documented how the occupation army targeted hospitals and medical teams, resulting in the deaths and injuries of many. These methods are seen as part of escalating aggression tactics, where sites are targeted a second time as rescue workers arrive.

The Committee to Protect Journalists continues to document these violations, describing the martyrdom of journalists as crimes, and emphasizing the necessity of protecting journalists and hospitals under international law.

Macron to Netanyahu: The occupation of Gaza will not bring victory and will increase Israel's isolation.

French President Emmanuel Macron sent a strongly worded message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning that the reoccupation of the Gaza Strip and adherence to settlement policies in the West Bank will not bring Israel any victory, but rather will lead to its international isolation, enhance global anti-Semitism, and expose Jewish communities abroad to greater dangers.

In his message, dated August 26, Macron affirmed that France will remain a friend to both Israel and the Palestinians, but it will not remain silent in the face of what he described as “the race towards a permanent and illegal war in Gaza” accompanied by forced displacement and starvation of Palestinians. He stated that these policies will not erase the existence of the Palestinian people from their land nor guarantee Israel's status as a “great democracy and a national homeland for the Jews.”

The French president emphasized that combating anti-Semitism is a “principled issue” that should not be exploited to justify Israel's current policies, reminding that he was the first French president to officially adopt the definition of the “International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance” in 2017, which considers anti-Zionism a form of anti-Semitism, but he clarified that this definition “cannot absolve Israel of its responsibilities” in the Palestinian territories.

Macron linked Israel's security to the necessity of establishing a sovereign, demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes Israel and lives peacefully alongside it. He viewed this state as representing the end of Hamas, considering that the ongoing war for nearly two years has proven that “the only real way to eliminate Hamas and ensure the future of Israel's youth is to establish a viable Palestinian state.”

Macron noted that France and Saudi Arabia succeeded last month in rallying Arab and Western countries in New York to discuss “the day after the war,” including taking on transitional security responsibilities in Gaza, contributing to the disarmament of armed groups, and supporting the reconstruction of the devastated sector. He stated that this international commitment is “unprecedented” and that Israel should not squander it.

He also warned that continuing military operations would cause Israel to lose the “historic opportunity” to turn its military gains into “a sustainable political victory that guarantees its security and prosperity,” asserting that “occupation, settlement, and hate speech will only lead to further isolation,” calling on Netanyahu to seize the outstretched hand of the international community to work towards a just and lasting peace.

Macron concluded his message by emphasizing that “a framework for ending the crisis in Gaza and achieving a permanent ceasefire is within reach,” adding that “the responsibility lies with you, Mr. Prime Minister, to choose the path of peace instead of the spiral of war.”

Moscow blames Washington for the Security Council's failure to take action regarding Gaza.

Russia has held the United States responsible for the failure of the United Nations Security Council to take any action regarding the tragic situation in the Gaza Strip. This was stated by Dmitry Polyansky, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, who confirmed that the United States is obstructing all initiatives aimed at ending the war there.

In a press conference held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Polyansky described the situation in Gaza as 'horrific', emphasizing the need for the international community to take responsibility for what is happening. He noted that the members of the Security Council have been unable to take a firm stance due to the influence of the United States.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupying state of Israel, with American support, has committed genocide in Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of 62,819 Palestinians and the injury of 158,629 others, most of whom are children and women. More than 9,000 people are reported missing, and hundreds of thousands are displaced.

Polyansky strongly criticized the position of the United Nations Security Council, asserting that the situation in Gaza requires urgent action from the international community. He explained that Russia is ready to negotiate with all concerned parties to change the current situation.

He added that the United States has stood by Israel and granted it the green light for its aggressive practices in Gaza, which must be condemned in the strongest terms. He affirmed that what is happening in Gaza is unacceptable and shameful.

When Polyansky was asked whether Israel's practices amount to genocide, he clarified that this matter requires specific legal tools, but he pointed out that the current situation cannot be accepted in any form.

It is noteworthy that Russia, China, France, and Britain rejected a resolution in the United Nations Security Council that would allow Israel to expand its war on Gaza, while Washington announced its continued support for Tel Aviv, reflecting the significant division in the international community on this issue.

Israel kills 6 Syrian soldiers in a bombing in the Damascus countryside.

Six Syrian soldiers were martyred on Tuesday due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted the city of Al-Kisweh in the Damascus countryside, reflecting the ongoing Israeli violations against Syrian sovereignty.

According to reports, the bombardment was carried out by drones belonging to the Israeli occupation, and the official Syrian news channel confirmed this news, indicating that the martyrs were members of the Syrian Arab Army.

This escalation comes after a previous incident on Tuesday, where another person was martyred due to an Israeli bombardment that targeted a house in the village of Tarnajah in the northern Quneitra countryside.

Reports also indicated that the occupation army infiltrated the town of Suwaisa in the southern Quneitra countryside early Tuesday, where they arrested a young man amid the residents' resistance to the invading forces.

For seven months, the Israeli occupation army has occupied Mount Hermon and a security strip 15 kilometers wide in some areas of southern Syria, increasing tensions in the region.

Syria has repeatedly condemned the ongoing Israeli violations of its sovereignty and affirmed its commitment to the disengagement agreement signed between the two sides in 1974.

Despite the formation of the new Syrian administration since late December 2024, the Israeli occupation has not hesitated in its incursions into Syrian territory, launching airstrikes that resulted in the martyrdom of civilians and the destruction of military sites.

It is worth noting that since 1967, the Israeli occupation has controlled most of the Syrian Golan Heights and has exploited the political events in Syria to expand its occupation.

I speak with my corpse in Gaza.

Isa Qaraqe

Isa Qaraqe

I am now a corpse in Gaza.

But I am still speaking.

Death in Gaza is strange; it is not an end, but another form of life. Here, bodies do not die all at once; they die multiple times: once when the rocket falls, once when the world denies the news, once when the child is buried without a name, and many times when the conscience does not stir.

I am a corpse, yes, but I am not without a voice; I speak to myself, to my fragments, to my limbs scattered like harsh memories. I speak because silence is betrayal, and because silence is a death more horrific than this one that clings to me.

I was walking on Salah al-Din Street, carrying a bag of bread. I was not a fighter, I was not a politician; I was just a human wanting to live. But in Gaza, the desire to live is a crime, and standing on your feet is an act of resistance.

Death came to me from above, from planes that know us by name, programmed for our bodies, not for maps. Death in Gaza is precise, calculated, cold. A technological death, executed by "advanced democracies" at the touch of a button. They said I was "collateral damage," but I was a complete world, I was a small dream, and a pain greater than all the United Nations data.

I am a corpse now, and I talk to myself, asking: Will my mother see me? Will she recognize me among the rubble? Will she search for my severed foot, or will she lift my head and sing to me as she used to when I was a child?

I address the world:

Why are you at ease? Why do you eat quietly while we disintegrate? Why do you read this text as if it were fiction, while I am here, lying under a cloud of smoke? Is it because I am Palestinian? Or because I am from Gaza? Or because my death does not resemble yours, so you cannot feel me? I am a corpse, yes, but I carry the questions of the living; I pose them to you, to those who justify, to those who remain silent, and to those who balance between the killer and the victim.

Do I not have a name?

Do I not have a homeland?

Did I not write, laugh, get angry, love, fear, learn?

Was I not like you, before a shell shattered me?

Do not wait for your death to understand mine.

And do not wait for your corpses to hear my voice.

I am now a corpse in Gaza, but I speak, and all the corpses of Gaza speak. I am a corpse, perhaps a child or a woman, perhaps a young man or a paramedic, perhaps an old man killed in the bread line, perhaps a poet buried in the coffin of poetry, perhaps a journalist whose eyes were blown out by the camera's lens. I am a corpse without a family, without relatives or friends; they all left, vanished, and I remain alone searching for a living person to talk to me and guide me to a graveyard.

In Gaza, there are corpses that still speak, weep, witness, curse, and there are living people outside Gaza who resemble the dead, mastering the art of numbness, leaning on the benches of neutrality, as if oppression does not concern them, or as if they have become silent corpses. How many have lost their souls without a bullet being fired at them? They died when the conscience died, and they died when blood became a political detail on the news.

How many corpses there are in the world, corpses that walk on two feet and smile to avoid being exposed, their faces illuminated, and their hearts extinguished for years. They are in quiet cities, in luxurious offices, in forgotten villages, in alleys, in classrooms, and in the shattered mirrors of bathrooms, living without meaning, without hope, without love, without a cause.

I speak to my corpse to help me lift the rubble and gather the remnants of my body: rise, my corpse, there is no one left but us under the dirt and cement, or in this cell. Rise, the Day of Resurrection has come, look, the resurrection has begun, the crossings have opened, and bread has fallen, and the Arabs and their eternal message have emerged from the refrigerators of the dead.

Rise, my corpse, they will build you a monument in the city, and a beautiful mural colored with purple blood, and thinkers will write the literature of tragedy, and win international awards in your name

Hamas settles the debate regarding Khalil al-Hayya's assassination attempt in Turkey.

The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas denied the rumors about an assassination attempt on the movement's political bureau member Khalil al-Hayya, confirming that the circulating news is merely false rumors. Sources within Hamas stated that these rumors come as part of the psychological and media war led by the occupation against our people and their leaders.

The sources emphasized that the occupation's attempts will not succeed in undermining the trust of our masses in their leadership, nor in extracting the steadfast positions embodied by Dr. al-Hayya and his comrades through a long journey of resilience and challenge. They stressed that rumors are the weapon of the powerless.

Hebrew platforms circulated news about an assassination operation targeting the prominent Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya in Turkey, which the movement categorically denied. Hamas confirmed in a previous statement that it refutes the claims regarding the assassination attempt on the head of the negotiating delegation.

Hamas called on media outlets and social media activists to be accurate in reporting this news and not to be drawn into Hebrew media, emphasizing the importance of media awareness in countering rumors.

It is noteworthy that the occupation has repeatedly threatened to assassinate Hamas leaders, with Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz vowing to assassinate Khalil al-Hayya and the leader of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Izz al-Din al-Haddad, indicating that they are among the most targeted.

Khalil al-Hayya has held the position of Deputy Head of Hamas's Political Bureau since August 2024 and currently resides outside the Palestinian territories. Meanwhile, al-Haddad is considered one of the senior leaders in the Al-Qassam Brigades, where he serves as the commander of the Gaza City Brigade.

Dead and wounded in intensive Israeli airstrikes on the tents of displaced people in Gaza.

A number of Palestinians were killed and injured due to intensive airstrikes carried out by the occupation's drones and fighter jets on the Gaza Strip, particularly targeting the Khan Younis area and the city of Gaza. Since dawn on Wednesday, the occupation army has continued its violent bombardment, leading to the destruction of many Palestinian homes.

Kuwait Field Hospital confirmed the death of 3 Palestinians, including a woman and a child, as a result of an Israeli drone strike on the tents of displaced persons west of Khan Younis. The Nasser Medical Complex also reported the death of 3 other Palestinians in a similar strike on a tent for displaced persons in the Asda area northwest of Khan Younis.

In a related context, a number of displaced persons were injured inside their tents due to the occupation's forces firing towards the regional area southwest of Khan Younis, exacerbating the suffering of civilians in this area that is enduring continuous destruction.

The occupation's fighter jets also launched strikes on central Khan Younis, while there were no reports of martyrs or injuries from those strikes. In the southern part of the Strip, Israeli artillery targeted areas where displaced persons were gathering in the city of Rafah, increasing chaos and panic among the residents.

In Gaza City, ambulance and emergency services reported injuries to several Palestinians from an Israeli drone strike on a tent for displaced persons in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood. A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed the martyrdom of two Palestinians in an Israeli artillery strike on a house in the Al-Daraj neighborhood.

Israeli airstrikes continued on the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza, where Israeli artillery bombarded the vicinity of the Islamic Complex in the Al-Sabra neighborhood south of the city. The occupation army also detonated a booby-trapped robot in the Al-Zarqa area to the north, increasing tensions in the region.

In the northern part of the Strip, the Israeli army demolished homes in Jabalia Al-Nazla and its aircraft conducted strikes on the Al-Shafta area. These attacks come at a sensitive time as Palestinians are suffering from harsh conditions due to the ongoing aggression.

It is worth noting that the Israeli attacks that took place yesterday, Tuesday, resulted in the martyrdom of about 60 Palestinians, including children and women, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip. These attacks continue to target tents of displaced persons, aid seekers, and civilian gatherings.

With American support, the occupying state has been committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to stop.

The Israeli genocide has so far resulted in 62,819 martyrs and 158,629 injured, most of whom are children and women, in addition to more than 9,000 missing and hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, leading to a famine that has claimed the lives of 303 Palestinians, including 117 children.

"The Next Day" and the Existential Question!

The fox refuses if "Hamas" accepts, and accepts if it refuses. Suddenly, and without prior signals, the fox has shifted from the partial deal that has long plagued our minds to the comprehensive deal, which he knows has different prices for "Hamas," which accepted the new proposal without additions, in response to the pressures from the Egyptian and Qatari mediators to avoid the worst, and to withdraw the pretexts that Netanyahu has invested in to prolong the war and keep himself a crowned king on the throne of Israel.

From the very first moment Netanyahu said that "Hamas's" acceptance of the proposal came only under the threat of the advance of "Gideon's chariots" towards Gaza, it implicitly involves exerting more pressure to obtain lower prices and more victims than the children of the giants, for whom he summoned fabricated texts from the Torah to kill and show no mercy.

The fox's cunning provides the clearest evidence and reveals the broadcast secret that the old man of Likud uses negotiations merely as a means to explore positions, and to scout with fire to obtain the lowest prices. After getting what he wants, he begins to fabricate arguments and pretexts to restart the cycle of slaughter, and then he repeats the process again to obtain more, driven by a doctrine that says: "What is not achieved by force comes with more force."

By invoking "Gideon's chariots," he cuts off the path to the "next day," which Cairo has turned to as an existential question for the survival of the people and the cause, amid the growing global support for recognizing the State of Palestine next month.

Netanyahu does not care about the captives, and he knows that he is not targeting "Hamas" as much as he is targeting the people through killing, starvation, and displacement, which explains his insistence on moving "Gideon's chariots" towards Gaza to push nearly a million citizens into the "Morag" area, trapping them in catastrophic conditions, and placing Abu Shabab in charge of them, which explains his vision for the "next day": neither "Hamas" nor the authority, and he certainly does not want to see any Arab force, in response to what the Egyptian foreign minister said at the joint press conference with Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa at the Rafah crossing last week.

The fox lies by claiming a return to negotiations, and lies even more by claiming his concern for bringing the captives out alive. This is why protests escalated yesterday after the warning Netanyahu issued to "Hamas" until mid-September, despite its acceptance of the mediators' proposal, but the warning implies establishing a pretext against it, and fabricating an excuse for a new chapter of extermination that is the most horrific and dangerous.

Stop the extermination now

Gaza on its 691st day: Declared famine and dozens of DEAD daily amid stalled negotiations.

The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip enters its 691st day, causing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster, as the United Nations has officially declared a famine in the region. This situation coincides with the continuation of violent Israeli airstrikes that claim dozens of lives daily, especially among civilians who are waiting for aid.

The death toll continues to rise tragically, with recent statistics showing that the number of martyrs since October 7, 2023, has reached 62,819, the majority of whom are children and women. The number of injured has also reached 158,629, with 75 martyrs and 370 injured recorded in the past 24 hours.

Reports also indicate an increase in the number of martyrs due to malnutrition and drought, with a total of 303 martyrs in this category, including 117 children. Additionally, 17 civilians have died while waiting for aid, raising the total casualties in this category to 2,140 martyrs.

In a development unprecedented in the Middle East, the United Nations confirmed the existence of famine in the Gaza Governorate, warning that half a million people are facing catastrophic hunger. The spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs confirmed that the situation is entirely man-made and could have been prevented.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) described the ongoing attacks on Gaza as a terrifying part of the daily reality for children, with 1.1 million children suffering from psychological and emotional trauma that is difficult to treat. Malnutrition is also escalating at a catastrophic rate, with one in four children suffering from severe acute malnutrition.

On the international front, the European Union described the killing of civilians, journalists, and health workers in an Israeli airstrike targeting Nasser Hospital as completely unacceptable, reiterating its call for the occupying state to respect international humanitarian law. Nevertheless, efforts to reach a ceasefire agreement remain stalled.

The deadlock in negotiations continues, with sources confirming that what is happening is limited to attempts to coordinate the start of talks, while the Israeli cabinet has approved the plan of the occupying government’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to proceed with the war, ignoring international calls.

UNICEF sounds the alarm: 1.1 million children in Gaza are suffering from severe psychological trauma.

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has warned that 1.1 million children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from psychological and emotional trauma that is difficult to treat, as a result of the ongoing attacks that have become a terrifying part of their daily reality over the past 23 months. These traumas deeply affect their mental health and overall development.

In a press statement by the regional director of advocacy and communications at UNICEF, Ammar Ammar, the devastating impact of the conflict on the mental and physical health of children was highlighted. He pointed out that the continuous bombardment has not only resulted in deaths and injuries but has also caused severe damage to children's psychological development.

Ammar explained that children in Gaza are living in a terrifying reality, where serious violations have spread widely, and their deprivation of aid, hunger, forced displacement, and the destruction of hospitals, schools, and water networks have become a daily reality. This situation negatively impacts their mental health.

UNICEF also highlighted the worsening hunger crisis in Gaza, where more than half a million people are suffering from starvation, leading to preventable deaths. Ammar confirmed that malnutrition among children is escalating at a catastrophic rate, with more than 12,000 children documented suffering from acute malnutrition in July alone.

Statistics indicate that one in four children suffers from severe acute malnutrition, the most lethal form that leaves devastating consequences in both the short and long term. These figures reflect the scale of the humanitarian disaster that children in the region are experiencing.

Ammar affirmed that UNICEF is striving to accelerate its relief activities in the region; however, its efforts face significant difficulties. The delivery of food supplies, medical aid, and basic needs is progressing very slowly due to the blockade imposed on the area, hindering humanitarian organizations' ability to respond to the escalating crisis.

The global fall of the legitimacy of the Israeli war... and changing the rules of the game in Gaza.

The genocide war waged by the occupying state against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip has entered its most dangerous phases, as the new phase aims to exterminate the main population block in the city of Gaza and eliminate the existence of resistance. This situation requires the resistance to abandon narrow ideologies and adopt a national identity, thereby opening its ranks to accommodate the diverse tribal, civil, and political forces that agree on the goal of defending the survival of the Palestinian people.

It seems that the battle for Gaza is not merely a continuation of the war since October 2023, but rather the decisive battle that will determine the shape of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state. The victory of the Palestinian people depends on transforming the resistance into an inclusive political project that embraces all national forces believing in the right of Palestinians to a secure homeland.

Despite the difficult regional circumstances, the global forces opposing the genocide war have gained strength, representing a positive shift in international diplomacy. The transformation of global public opinion against the genocide war is a direct result of the steadfastness of the Palestinian resistance and reflects a change in how the world views the Palestinian conflict.

The first truth is that the world, with the exception of the occupying state and the United States, no longer sees the genocide war as a defensive war. Former Dutch Foreign Minister Kasper Veldkamp confirmed that the war is no longer justified and that Netanyahu's government has lost its legitimacy in the eyes of the world. This shift reflects the retreat of the mask that the occupying state had been hiding behind.

The second truth indicates that the Palestinian cause has become a local political issue in democratic countries, where it can influence governments and voter trends. The resistance and steadfastness of the Palestinian people have brought the Palestinian cause to a new level of political attention in countries like the Netherlands, France, and Britain.

The third truth relates to the decline in the influence of the anti-Semitism charge, as it has lost its credibility as a tool to deter opponents of the occupation policy. The widespread use of this charge against war opponents has drained it of its content, contributing to the strengthening of opposing reactions against the policies of the occupying government.

The fourth truth concerns the internal Israeli division, revealing disagreements between the political and military leadership. This division may affect the future situation in Gaza, where the influence of the Israeli interior could become an important factor in ending the war.

The fifth truth indicates that the Arab states active in Middle Eastern diplomacy are basing their positions on hostility towards Hamas, which has led to a weakening of the Arab governmental role. This truth calls for the necessity of removing the Palestinian cause from the cloak of Arab governmental guardianship.

Press: Israeli fallacies to deny the starvation of Gaza and the increasing sympathy of Americans for Palestine

International newspapers have addressed the reactions to the atrocities committed by the occupying state in its unprecedented war on the besieged Gaza Strip, where the percentage of Americans sympathizing with the Palestinians has increased. An article in the Irish Times noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, wanted by the International Criminal Court, avoided expressing regret over the massacre at Nasser Medical Hospital in Khan Younis.

According to writer Hagai Elad, Netanyahu is fully aware of the Israeli public opinion, which showed in a poll that it believes there are no innocents in Gaza. There are also media voices in Israel openly calling for the killing of Palestinian journalists in the Strip, reflecting the extent of bias and extremism in public opinion.

In another article in Haaretz, serious accusations facing the occupying state of committing war crimes in Gaza were highlighted, noting that these accusations come not only from hostile parties but also from some of Israel's closest allies. The writer considered that preventing foreign journalists from entering Gaza was a grave mistake, contributing to the impression that the occupying state is hiding something.

Jeremy Konyndyk, head of the International Refugee Organization, condemned the voices denying the existence of famine in Gaza, emphasizing that the Israeli government and an army of virtual experts insist that images of starving children in Gaza are fabricated. Konyndyk considered that denying famine is part of a deliberate Israeli disinformation campaign, based on his experience in famine response efforts in other areas.

The British Guardian newspaper highlighted a letter signed by 290 senior diplomats from European Union countries, calling for urgent action against the occupying state due to its war on Gaza and its violations in the occupied West Bank. The signatories emphasized the necessity for EU countries to take individual measures including freezing arms exports and banning trade with illegal settlements.

In a related context, the magazine 'Responsible Statecraft' noted an increase in the percentage of Americans sympathizing with the Palestinians due to the Israeli war on Gaza. A poll conducted by the University of Maryland revealed that 41% of Americans consider the war to be genocide, while 22% see it as self-defense. For the first time, a larger number of Americans sympathize with the Palestinians compared to Israelis in previous polls.

Trump lowers expectations regarding Gaza, and Weitkov discusses an important meeting on Wednesday.

U.S. President Donald Trump has retracted his previous statements that hinted at imminent decisive results regarding the Gaza Strip, confirming during a government meeting at the White House that the situation in Gaza has been ongoing for a long time without any decisive outcome. Trump clarified that no final developments can be expected in the coming weeks.

In a related context, his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, spoke about an expanded meeting to be held at the White House on Wednesday, which Trump will attend. Witkoff noted that a comprehensive plan is being prepared regarding the day after the war in Gaza ends.

Witkoff also emphasized the importance of the lengthy meetings this week addressing the conflicts in Gaza and Iran, as well as the dispute between Russia and Ukraine, expressing hope for resolving these issues before the end of the year.

On another note, Congressman Gregory Meeks, the senior Democrat on the House Armed Services Committee, warned that the continuation of the war in Gaza could lead to a global ostracism of Israel. He stressed the necessity of halting the sale of offensive systems to Israel if it does not respond to a ceasefire.

Since October 2023, the occupying state has been waging a genocidal war against the besieged population of the Gaza Strip, with homes and health facilities being bombed, leading to the systematic destruction of the health system in the region.

The latest statistics from the Ministry of Health in Gaza indicate that the war has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 62,000 Palestinians and the injury of 158,000 others, in addition to the martyrdom of 300 Palestinians due to starvation, including 117 children.

The streets of Tel Aviv are boiling over demands for a prisoner exchange.. and Netanyahu clings to the military option in Gaza.

The streets of Greater Tel Aviv witnessed a large public movement today, as thousands of demonstrators took to the streets demanding an immediate deal to secure the release of those held in the Gaza Strip. These protests come at a sensitive time, as the security cabinet convened without yielding tangible results, amid hardline statements from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Since dawn on Tuesday, main roads in Tel Aviv and other cities have been closed, with protesters holding pictures of the captives. The gatherings extended to the vicinity of the American mission and the homes of several ministers, reflecting the growing anger in Israeli society.

As evening fell, thousands gathered in Tel Aviv, where the sounds of horns, sirens, and drumbeats rose, accompanied by chants accusing the government of failing to address the issue of the captives. One protester, Yoav Fider, stated that they are here to demand a deal for the return of the captives and to end the war.

In contrast, following the security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu made statements reaffirming the military stance, saying: 'It began in Gaza and it will end in Gaza. We will not leave these monsters there.' These remarks come after the council approved a plan to take control of the city of Gaza, sparking a new wave of protests.

On the diplomatic front, the situation remains uncertain. Hamas has agreed to a proposal for a 60-day ceasefire during which the captives will be exchanged in two batches for Palestinian detainees, but Tel Aviv has not yet provided an official response.

The families of the captives have sharply criticized the government, accusing it of neglecting their children's plight. Ruby Hain, the father of one of the captives, stated that Netanyahu prioritizes the destruction of Hamas at the expense of releasing the captives, considering it unacceptable to sacrifice fifty hostages for political purposes.

It is noteworthy that among the 251 individuals captured on October 7, 2023, 49 hostages remain in Gaza, and the Israeli occupation army has announced the death of 27 of them, increasing pressure on the Israeli government to find a swift solution.

Netanyahu encourages settler attacks in the West Bank and hints at the imminent annexation of it.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a speech, encouraged settlers to continue their assaults against Palestinian citizens in the occupied West Bank, hinting at the imminent annexation of the territory. This came during a celebration of the approval for the construction of 17 new settlements in the West Bank, where Netanyahu expressed his confidence in the 'heroism of our children.'

Netanyahu indicated that the daily assaults faced by Palestinians are part of protecting what he calls 'the Land of Israel.' He mentioned that Israel is reinforcing its sovereignty in the West Bank, which effectively means it is imposing its annexation, contradicting the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state.

His statements coincided with the escalation of aggression against the Gaza Strip, where the occupation army and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,016 Palestinians, injured about 7,000 others, and arrested more than 18,500 Palestinians.

Netanyahu recalled his promise 25 years ago not to allow the establishment of a Palestinian state, noting that Israel is working to strengthen its presence in the West Bank. He also hinted that Israel is closer than ever to applying sovereignty over the West Bank.

The annexation of the West Bank is officially considered the end of the two-state solution, as stipulated by United Nations resolutions, and reflects the ongoing policy of occupation in displacing Palestinians, demolishing homes, and accelerating settlement.

Since the beginning of the aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, Israel has committed crimes that pave the way for the annexation of the West Bank, leading to a worsening of the humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories. Israel has ignored international calls to stop the aggression.

The genocide in Gaza has resulted in a large number of martyrs and wounded, with the death toll reaching 62,819 and the injured 158,629, reflecting the magnitude of the humanitarian disaster that Palestine is suffering under occupation.

A pro-Palestine movement storms a British arms factory supplying the occupation.

Four activists who identify themselves as "Martyrs of Palestine for Justice" stormed the Moog aircraft manufacturing plant in Wolverhampton, UK. The activists used a car to ram the factory gate, then climbed onto the roof of one of the buildings, causing production to halt.

The group announced that their goal is to stop production related to the armament programs of the Israeli occupation, and the four were arrested by British police on suspicion of damaging private property. The police confirmed that they have opened an investigation into the incident.

The choice of the factory was due to its involvement in supplying aviation components used in the training and operation of F-16 and F-35 fighters that are part of the occupation's armament system. The activists declared through video clips that they had "halted the production lines" inside the factory.

Moog has not issued any official comment on the incident, but local ITV reported that work at the site resumed hours after the protesters were removed from the roof. The operation caused "significant damage" to glass roofs and solar panels within the industrial complex.

Circulating images showed the activists wearing shirts bearing the images of Palestinian martyrs, reflecting their connection to the Palestinian cause. The British police confirmed that the investigation is still ongoing and urged the public to stay away from the site until the procedures are completed.

Moog is specialized in motion control systems for civil and military aircraft, and it has a manufacturing site in Wolverhampton. Media and human rights reports link British supply chains to components of the F-35 program, complicating the tracking of the destination of these components.

The British government relied on this complexity to exempt F-35 components from some export license suspension decisions last year, and the Supreme Court upheld this approach in a recent ruling.

In a related context, the European Commission confirmed that the Israeli attack on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, which resulted in the martyrdom of 20 people, is "absolutely unacceptable." The spokesperson for the Commission called for the protection of civilians and journalists under international law.

A large majority of Israelis deny the existence of innocents in the Gaza Strip.

A survey conducted by the "Acord" center showed that a large majority of Israelis, reaching 76%, believe that there are no innocents in the Gaza Strip. This survey comes at a time when the occupying state has been waging a genocide against the Palestinians for nearly 23 months, with increasing assaults on civilians, including targeting journalists.

The survey, conducted between August 11 and 13, included 912 Israelis and showed that 63% of participants believe that the release of all Palestinian prisoners is more important than defeating Hamas. Many also believe that the Israeli government can end the war as part of a comprehensive prisoner exchange deal.

While 59% of respondents believe that the Israeli government, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, is not doing its utmost to secure the release of prisoners, the results showed that 62% of Israelis agree that there are no innocents in Gaza, although this percentage has decreased from a previous survey.

The results indicate that Israeli public opinion is significantly influenced by official discourse, as 71% of voters in the ruling coalition believe that global public opinion is important during the war. Additionally, 59% of the public believe that the occupying state is trying to avoid killing innocents, while 28% believe that the occupation is not attempting to do so.

The occupying state estimates that there are 50 Israeli prisoners in Gaza, while more than 10,800 Palestinians are imprisoned, suffering from torture and medical neglect. Hamas has announced its readiness to release prisoners in exchange for ending the aggression, but the Israeli government is imposing new conditions.

Since October 7, 2023, the occupying state has committed genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 62,819 martyrs and 158,629 injured, most of whom are children and women. It has also caused the displacement of hundreds of thousands and a famine that has claimed the lives of many Palestinians.

UNICEF: The ongoing attacks on Gaza have become a terrifying part of the daily reality for children.

The United Nations Children's Fund "UNICEF" reported that the ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip have become a terrifying part of the daily reality for children, amid the genocide being perpetrated by the occupying state against Palestinians for the past 23 months.

The regional director for advocacy and communications at UNICEF for the Middle East and North Africa, Ammar Ammar, stated in a press release that the continuous bombardment of Gaza has resulted, in addition to killings and injuries, psychological and emotional trauma that is difficult to treat for about 1.1 million children, causing severe damage to their psychological development.

Ammar pointed out that serious violations have spread widely, as the deprivation of children from aid, hunger, ongoing forced displacement, and the destruction of hospitals, schools, water networks, and homes have become a daily reality for children in Gaza.

He added: "What we are witnessing in Gaza is not just a war against children, but the destruction of life itself," explaining that more than half a million people in Gaza have fallen prey to starvation, and that the deaths resulting from this could have been avoided.

The UNICEF official addressed the spread of images of emaciated children and infants dying from systematic Israeli starvation and disease, noting that both could have been prevented, and that no decisive action has ever been taken regarding this.

He emphasized that malnutrition among children is escalating at a catastrophic rate, saying: "In July alone, the suffering of more than 12,000 children from acute malnutrition was documented, and nearly one in four children suffers from severe acute malnutrition, which is the deadliest form and has devastating consequences for children in both the short and long term."

He confirmed that UNICEF is striving to accelerate its activities in the region, but the supply of food, basic necessities, and medical assistance is progressing slowly due to technical issues and the Israeli blockade on the area.

The occupation barriers burden the stone industry in Nablus and threaten the livelihood of thousands of workers.

In the town of Jama'in south of Nablus, worker Muhammad Madinah is facing significant difficulties in his work due to the closure of the main entrance to the town by the occupation army. Since the beginning of the war on the Gaza Strip in October 2023, mobility has become more complicated, affecting the livelihood of many workers in the stone industry.

Muhammad says he used to transport stone to many areas in the West Bank, but the closure of the main road has made work more difficult and increased transportation costs. His monthly income has significantly decreased, from over 20,000 shekels to around 8,000 shekels now.

Jama'in is considered one of the most important Palestinian towns for stone extraction, marketing its production in the Palestinian and Arab markets, in addition to the markets of the 48 territories. However, the closure of secondary roads has led to a decline in production, with factories now operating only 12 days a month.

Hassan Khdeir, the mayor of Jama'in, confirms that the closures have affected the value of electricity bills for establishments, which dropped by 30% last year. Quarry owners have also been forced to reduce working hours, negatively impacting workers' income.

The stone industry constitutes about 15% of the Palestinian economic output, employing around 40,000 workers in this sector. With exports declining due to the closures, Shadi Shaheen, the general director of the General Union of Stone and Marble, warned that the continuation of the current situation could exacerbate the crisis.

Estimates show that stone exports dropped by about 30% last year, resulting in a loss of nearly 50 million dollars. Despite the quality of Palestinian stone, the closures have pushed some markets to seek alternatives.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission indicates that the number of barriers and iron gates established by the occupation since October 7, 2023, has reached 898, increasing the pressures on workers and the stone industry in Palestine.

The occupation claims to have targeted a "surveillance camera" to justify the massacre at Nasser Hospital.

A spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army revealed the results of a preliminary investigation into the bombing that targeted the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis, which resulted in the martyrdom of 20 Palestinians, including 5 journalists. The occupation army claimed that the bombing was aimed at a 'surveillance camera' in the hospital, alleging that the camera was placed there by Hamas.

The occupation army claimed that the camera was monitoring the activities of fighters and directing terrorist activities against the forces, noting that intelligence information indicates that Hamas uses the hospital for terrorist activities. As a result, the force moved to destroy the camera.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir accepted the preliminary conclusions and ordered a comprehensive investigation. Zamir considered that Hamas exploits sensitive sites like hospitals for military purposes, complicating the situation further.

In a related context, Zamir claimed that six of the dead were terrorists, one of whom participated in the attack on the occupation state on October 7. Zamir expressed regret for the harm caused to civilians who were not involved in the fighting.

The channel mentioned that Zamir directed a deeper investigation into several gaps, including the approval process among leadership before the attack, and investigating the decision-making process on the ground. It noted that the southern command is investigating why tank shells were fired despite the original approval including the use of more precise weapons.

Earlier, the occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed regret for what he described as a 'tragic incident' at Nasser Hospital, affirming that their goal is to defeat Hamas. However, the 'Sayeret Givati' unit criticized Netanyahu's statements and demanded a formal apology from him.

70 dead due to the fire and airstrikes of the occupation on the Gaza Strip since dawn today.

Medical sources reported that 70 citizens have been killed by the ongoing fire and airstrikes of the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip since the dawn of Tuesday. The martyrs were distributed across various areas of the strip, with 30 dead in the north, 20 in the center, and 20 in the south.

In the details of the airstrikes, 5 citizens, including a child, were killed as a result of the occupation's aircraft shelling a group of citizens on Fahmy Beyk Street in Gaza City. Another citizen was killed due to the occupation's aircraft bombing a house in the vicinity of Abu Iskander in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northern Gaza City.

In the Al-Zarqa area of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in the northeast of the city, another citizen was martyred due to the occupation's bombing of a house. Earlier, 7 citizens were killed by the occupation's artillery shelling in the Al-Safatawi area in northern Gaza City.

Additionally, 3 citizens were killed and others were injured in the occupation's shelling of a group of citizens in the Al-Sabra neighborhood south of the city. In the central Gaza Strip, two citizens were killed when an Israeli drone targeted a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Suwarah area west of the Al-Nuseirat camp.

Another citizen was killed and others were injured, with several missing persons still under the rubble, including women and children, due to an airstrike by the occupation's aircraft on the home of the 'Abu Zubaida' family in the Al-Bureij camp.

In the city of Deir al-Balah, a mother and her infant were killed in an airstrike by the occupation on a warehouse housing displaced persons on 'Akila Street.' Another citizen was martyred near the 'Al-Durra Stadium' in the north of the city.

In the south of the strip, 6 citizens were killed in a massacre that claimed the lives of the 'Kawari' family (parents and their three children) as a result of the occupation's bombing targeting a tent housing displaced persons opposite the Al-Qarara port northwest of Khan Younis.

Moreover, 6 citizens waiting for aid were killed by the occupation's fire south of Khan Younis. The occupation forces continue to commit crimes against the Palestinian people, ignoring international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice.

Since October 7, 2023, the genocide in Gaza has resulted in 62,819 dead and 158,629 injured, most of whom are children and women, over 9,000 missing persons, and hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals.

Famine continues to kill citizens, with 303 recorded deaths due to starvation, including 117 children, as of Tuesday.

From Jordan.. The Mayor of Barcelona doubles his support for UNRWA to 400,000 euros.

The Mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, announced from the Jordanian capital Amman the doubling of his city's financial support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to reach 400,000 euros. This announcement came during an emotional visit by the mayor to UNRWA warehouses in Jordan, where he witnessed firsthand thousands of tons of stacked humanitarian aid that are barred from entering the besieged Gaza Strip due to the blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation on the agency.

Mayor Collboni, who toured the UNRWA facilities alongside Spanish Ambassador Miguel de Lucas, described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as "extremely dire," especially following the official declaration of famine last week. He confirmed that Barcelona's additional contribution, which continues the support that began in 2012, will be urgently allocated to purchasing medicines and food supplies and enhancing health support for doctors and nurses in Gaza.

Collboni stated: "Barcelona joins the condemnations issued by many countries and cities around the world, and we will double our contribution to alleviate the suffering of those who have nothing to eat or drink." These statements reflect the Spanish city's commitment to assisting Palestinian refugees amid the difficult circumstances they are facing.

The mayor's visit highlighted the scale of the logistical tragedy, as UNRWA currently holds nearly 900 trucks loaded with aid in Jordan, in addition to thousands of other trucks in Egypt. These vital supplies cannot reach the territory due to the Israeli blockade imposed on UNRWA since March of last year.

Collboni clarified that more than 6,000 trucks are currently stuck and unable to deliver food and medicine to Gaza "despite the declaration of famine," emphasizing that "what is urgent and necessary now is to ensure that aid reaches more than one and a half million people in Gaza."

For his part, the Director of UNRWA Affairs in Jordan, Olaf Becker, expressed the agency's deep gratitude to the Mayor of Barcelona for his "generous and ongoing support." He confirmed that this support enhances the agency's ability to provide its vital services to Palestinian refugees, especially amid what he described as "the most severe financial crisis in the agency's history."

Becker added: "We thank the Mayor of Barcelona for his genuine concern regarding the famine in Gaza and for his visit to our warehouses in Jordan, which contain enough aid to support two million people for three months."

The Palestinian presidency warns of a "major explosion" and calls on Washington to stop the "occupation's meddling" in the West Bank.

The Palestinian presidency warned, in a statement, of the serious repercussions of the ongoing escalation by the occupation in the West Bank, indicating that incursions, arrests, and systematic acts of destruction could push matters towards a "major explosion."

The Palestinian presidency held the occupying government fully responsible for this escalation and called on the U.S. administration for urgent intervention to compel the occupation to stop its "criminal acts."

These warnings come in the wake of a series of incursions carried out by the occupation forces, during which the cities of Ramallah and Hebron and the village of al-Mughayer witnessed arrests and injuries among citizens.

The Palestinian presidency described the recent Israeli assaults as a "criminal aggressive act" targeting the Palestinian people and their land, pointing to the immense destruction inflicted on Palestinian cities and camps.

The presidency noted that the recent incursions coincided with the ongoing "genocide and starvation" war in the Gaza Strip, which exacerbates tensions in the Palestinian territories.

The presidency issued a direct appeal to the U.S. administration to take responsibility for stopping the occupation from this chaos and called on the international community to break its silence and assume its responsibilities to halt these condemned actions.

The presidency affirmed that the ultimate goal of the occupation behind this escalation is to force the Palestinian people to leave their land and displace them, emphasizing that the Palestinian people will not concede their land and sanctities.

The statement concluded with a strong warning that stability will not be achieved for one side without the other, and that "security and peace for all or no security for anyone," reflecting the gravity of the current situation.
