Civil Defense in Gaza City: People do not want to evacuate, but the occupation is pressuring them with fire.

The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza City, Mahmoud Basal, stated that the Israeli occupation is pressuring citizens in Gaza City with fire to force them to flee, despite their unwillingness to do so, describing their conditions as very harsh.

Basal confirmed that around 20,000 people have fled the city towards the southern Gaza Strip, noting that the occupation is using terrifying and frightening fire belts to compel citizens to leave the city.

He pointed out that he personally witnessed families returning from the central area back into Gaza City because they could not find a place or means of living, as there is no infrastructure or hospitals.

He denied the occupation's claims that the southern area of the strip is a humanitarian zone, stating that it is no different from the northern area, where Gazans in the south live under very harsh conditions.

Basal also highlighted the suffering of the displaced who left the city due to overcrowding and the poor condition of the vehicles they are using as a result of two years of war, as well as the deteriorating roads they are fleeing through.

The Israeli occupation army launched a series of violent airstrikes targeting the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood in the southwestern part of the city, continuing to demolish homes and residential buildings using explosive vehicles and robots in the northwest of the city.

According to Basal, the occupation army conducted a military operation in the Zeitoun neighborhood that lasted 27 days, during which it destroyed the city and completely wiped out its southern area.

He considered that what the occupation committed in the Zeitoun neighborhood is being repeated today in Tel al-Hawa, where the occupation is using robots intensively.

Occupation Army: Closure of Salah al-Din axis in Gaza... and we will continue operations with unprecedented force.

The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday the closure of Salah al-Din axis, which is the main artery for movement and transportation between the north and south of the Gaza Strip, to the displaced people heading from Gaza City and its surroundings.

In a statement, the army clarified that the closure aims to serve its military operations in the area, while also confirming that the Rashid axis (Sea Street) will remain the only available route for civilians to move towards the south of the Strip.

This measure comes amid ongoing military operations, as the army emphasized that it "will continue to operate with unprecedented and intense force against Hamas and other organizations" in the Strip.

The German judiciary is pursuing senior politicians who aided in the extermination of Gaza.

The public prosecutor's office in Germany is expected to file charges today, Friday, against government officials and executives in arms companies 'for their role in inciting genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes against the Palestinian people.'

A group of organizations and lawyers in the initiative 'Justice and Accountability for Palestine' is preparing to file a historic criminal complaint with the German federal prosecutor in Karlsruhe, targeting 11 government officials and executives in arms companies in Germany for approving the delivery of weapons to Israel.

This complaint comes days after a report from the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which concluded that Israel committed 4 acts of genocide as defined by the Genocide Convention, adding legal and international weight to the initiative.

Israeli analysts: We face the risk of losing legitimacy due to our violations in Gaza

Political analysts and former Israeli officials emphasized that the wave of sanctions and boycotts - which Israel is facing due to the war in Gaza - is leading it to become a "delegitimized state." They stated that the judgment of Israel is no longer related to what it says but rather to what it does.

Barak Betash, an international affairs correspondent for i24, mentioned that the European Commission has implemented measures against Israel, which include halting bilateral support from the European Union, except for civil society organizations and the Yad Vashem Foundation.

The European Union has also decided - according to the correspondent - to impose sanctions on extremist ministers and settlers who commit violence, in addition to suspending specific provisions in the trade agreements established between the two parties.

Keren Betzelil, an international affairs correspondent for Channel 12, commented on the European steps by saying, "We will become the modern-day Russia; today there was a discussion in the European Union about imposing actual economic sanctions on all of us."

She added that the sanctions will affect every individual in Israel, will increase the cost of living, and will reduce import operations in Israel, which she said relies on Germany and Italy, and if either one changes its position, Israel will fall under these sanctions.

According to the same correspondent, the boycott of Israel will not be limited to the European singing competition but will extend to sports clubs and other cultural and artistic events, noting that everything is linked to the continuation of the war on Gaza.

In his comment on what was revealed by the Telegraph that starting next year, Israeli officers will not be allowed to study at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London, former Ground Forces Commander Reserve Major General Guy Tsur said, "We are on the verge of becoming an illegitimate state because we are in a situation that many in the world and in Israel do not understand why the war continues."

He added, "It is difficult for me to justify the continuation of the war, and I do not want to weep by using anti-Semitism," calling for an end to the war and reaching an agreement.

For his part, Manuel Trachtenberg, one of the founders of the new Eizenkot party, stated that "Israel is in a silent emergency, not because there are armies crawling towards its borders, but because it has become a pariah state that is currently killing itself," and he called for an end to the war on Gaza to halt the harsh economic measures that are being prepared.

Occupation Foreign Minister: If we do not maintain security control in the West Bank, all of "Israel" will be at risk.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the occupying entity, Gideon Sa'ar, announced that complete security control over the West Bank is an existential condition, warning that without it, "the entire occupying entity will be in danger."

This extreme position comes as a consolidation of the occupation policy based on military force and the rejection of any political solution.

Sa'ar's statements came as a direct political exploitation of the occupying army's announcement regarding the dismantling of a "rocket cell" in Ramallah.

Ben Gvir calls for the destruction of the Palestinian Authority before it's too late.

The extremist occupation Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, has called for the immediate and complete dismantling of the Palestinian Authority. This serious escalation comes in the wake of the occupation army's announcement of the arrest of a "rocket cell" in Ramallah, in a move that appears to be a political exploitation of the event to impose a far-right agenda.

Ben Gvir issued his shocking warning, which amounts to a declaration of war on the Palestinian political entity, stating: "If we do not dismantle the Palestinian Authority in a timely manner, we will wake up too late as happened in Gaza." This statement carries a dangerous and direct comparison between the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Ben Gvir's call represents a direct challenge not only to the Palestinians but to the entire international community, led by the United States and the European Union. These international powers consider the Palestinian Authority a key partner and cornerstone for any future resolution to the conflict.

The occupation army claims to have dismantled a cell in Ramallah that was preparing to target settlements.

Channel 12 Hebrew claimed that the occupation army arrested a Palestinian cell during a nighttime raid in the Ramallah area, alleging that it is 'the first cell concerned with the manufacturing and launching of rockets' from the center of the West Bank towards the settlements in the occupied West Bank.

Forces affiliated with the occupation carried out a nighttime raid targeting a workshop and homes in the Ramallah area, during which they managed to arrest members of the cell. The channel claimed that additional rockets ready for launch were found during the raid.

This announcement, if confirmed, represents a significant and dangerous escalation in the nature of Palestinian resistance in the West Bank. As of the time of preparing this report, no official comment has been issued by the Palestinian Authority or Palestinian factions regarding these allegations.

A Reading of the Objectives of the Israeli Military Campaign on the City of Gaza

Nabhan Khreisha

Nabhan Khreisha

Opinion Writer

In late summer 2025, it became clear that Israel was not preparing for a limited and precise military operation against armed cells spread within a densely populated city, but rather was gearing up for a large-scale operation - in terms of personnel, equipment, and logistics - that starkly contrasts with the declared size of the threat. The simple and standard question remains: why mobilize tens of thousands of soldiers, brigades, armored vehicles, and intensive air, naval, and artillery support to storm an inhabited city? Is the goal really confined to "neutralizing" these fighters, or are there broader political and geographical aims that are reshaping Gaza geopolitically?

The Israeli army began an extensive ground operation to occupy the city of Gaza, currently focusing on storming and asserting control over the outskirts of the city's neighborhoods, with plans in three phases that include opening corridors, evacuating, and eliminating resistance hotspots. The main ground forces announced to be directly participating in the operations in Gaza City are the 98th Division, the 162nd Division, and the 36th Division (including regular and reserve elements), alongside the entry of other units in adjacent axes, with air, naval, artillery, and engineering support, accompanied by the mobilization of about 60,000 reservists to expand the city occupation operation.

In contrast, since the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, the figures regarding the size of Hamas's military force have remained widely debated. Initial estimates before the war indicated that the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the movement, had between 25,000 to 30,000 fighters distributed throughout the Gaza Strip. As battles and intense bombardment continued, Israel announced that it had killed around 20,000 personnel, but independent observers questioned these figures and saw them as closer to propaganda estimates. More conservative international analytical estimates spoke of several thousand and even up to 20,000 fighters remaining in Gaza as a whole, with differences in the definition of "fighter" between regular elements and new recruits or fighters from other factions.

However, when we look specifically at Hamas's strength in the city of Gaza, which is currently under Israeli military attack, the numbers clearly shrink. Recent field reports from international military study centers and monitoring centers indicated that the number of fighters remaining within the urban boundaries of the city mostly ranges between 2,000 to 3,000 fighters, scattered across various neighborhoods and fortified in the network of tunnels beneath them.

In the history of wars, military tools are determined by the scale of the objective, and in the case of the Israeli attack on the city of Gaza, fighting an organized force within an urban pocket requires specialized units, precise intelligence, and low-cost operations politically and humanely as much as possible. For the sake of eliminating leadership or combat infrastructure, it is often sufficient to strike command centers, target specific supply lines, and conduct qualitative intelligence operations. However, what we see from extensive brigade and reserve mobilization, and the massive use of firepower in crowded urban neighborhoods, is more closely aligned with a goal that calls for emptying its population or redrawing the geography of the local demographics rather than merely weakening or eliminating a fighting force.

The extensive attack within a city as a crowded urban center will not only be a "battlefield," but will also mean widespread destruction of infrastructure, hundreds if not thousands of civilian casualties, and mass displacement. This reality is not measured solely by purely military standards, but entrenches long-term humanitarian crises: reconstruction projects that require years, psychological and social impacts that extend for generations, and the accumulation of feelings of revenge and hatred that generate continuously renewing resistance. If the goal is confined to eliminating the capabilities of an armed organization with a limited number, there are politically and humanely less costly and more tactically effective methods than this comprehensive confrontation.

Over the past months, proposals and analyses have emerged addressing "reconstruction" and population transfer or changing the shape of residential gatherings after the end of the conflict. Not all of these ideas are activated plans, but their repetition in decision-making circles and analyses creates a concerning context: envisioning a future that includes population redistribution or partial "resettlement" solutions that could practically mean long-term displacement for millions of people or pushing them out of the areas they have lived in for generations. These ideological lines, when intersecting with a structured and large military force, raise the hypothesis that militarization has goals that extend beyond "security" to "change" in the geographical and demographic reality.

Discussing the possibilities of understandings or negotiation spaces with regional countries or foreign administrations to create post-war arrangements - whether in the form of reconstruction aid with conditions or security and political coordination - does not necessarily mean an agreement on forced displacement, but it opens the door to scenarios that alter the balance of power on the ground. Egypt, for example, announced its refusal to receive large waves of displacement; however,

Algeria: The failure of the Security Council to act to stop the genocide is a "shame."

The Algerian representative to the United Nations Security Council, Ammar Ben Jamel, stated on Thursday that the council's failure once again to reach a decision to cease fire in Gaza is "a disgrace for our inability to act against the genocide that is unfolding before our eyes."

This came in a speech following the Security Council's failure to pass a resolution to stop the fire in Gaza, after the United States once again used its veto power.

He considered the council's repeated failure to stop the genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza as "a moment as clear as daylight; either stand up to stop the genocide or remain complicit in these crimes."

The Algerian representative began his speech by apologizing to the Palestinian people, saying: "O Palestinian brothers, forgive us, you in Gaza where the flames consume you and the rubble suffocates you, and the council has not been able to protect you and your women, where the Zionist entity has killed more than 12,000 of them."

He added: "The council has not been able to save your children, where the Israeli occupation has killed more than 18,000 children, and has also killed more than 4,000 elderly people."

He continued: "Forgive us for not being able to defend your journalists, of whom the Israeli occupation has killed more than 250."

Ben Jamel explained that the Security Council's failure to assist the Palestinians "is disturbing, as the Israeli occupation is protected, and due to international bias towards it, it kills Palestinians daily and no one moves a finger."

He confirmed, on the other hand, that "despite the failure to pass the resolution to cease fire in Gaza, efforts supporting the Palestinian people will continue until they achieve their rights to establish an independent Palestinian state."

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging war on the Gaza Strip with American support, which international human rights organizations have described as "genocide," resulting in the deaths of 65,141 Palestinians and the injury of 165,925 others, most of whom are children and women, in addition to the displacement of hundreds of thousands and famine that has claimed the lives of 435 Palestinians, including 147 children.

Jews protest in New York against Netanyahu's participation in United Nations meetings.

Orthodox Jews opposed to the occupation organized a demonstration in New York City, protesting the participation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which will begin next week.

According to Anadolu Agency, a group of Orthodox Jews launched a campaign through a website called "Israel Against Judaism," to hold a demonstration in front of the Israeli consulate building in Manhattan, New York.

It added that hundreds of Orthodox Jews gathered at the designated site, carrying signs with phrases such as "The number one enemy of the Jewish people is Netanyahu and Ben Gvir," "Anti-Zionism is not anti-Jewish," and "Stop forcing Jews to join the Zionist army."

The demonstrators also expressed their rejection of Netanyahu's upcoming visit to New York for the UN meetings, and they hung a large banner that read, "Netanyahu: You do not speak for us."

The agency quoted American anti-Zionist Rabbi David Feldman regarding Netanyahu's visit, saying, "He will mislead the world into thinking he represents all Jews and that the actions he commits are somehow acceptable within the Jewish religion."

Feldman added that everything Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu advocate "completely contradicts the Jewish religion and is a source of real shame for its followers."

He also described what is happening in Gaza as "unacceptable," expressing his deep sorrow over the practices of killing, looting, and crushing an entire people in Palestine.

With American support, the occupying state has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,062 martyrs and 165,697 injured, most of whom are children and women, and famine that has claimed the lives of 432 Palestinians, including 146 children.

Macron threatens to impose sanctions on the occupation if its operations in Gaza continue.

French President Emmanuel Macron hinted at the possibility of discussing sanctions against the occupation, should its military operations in the city of Gaza continue by government decision, affirming that recognizing the right of the Palestinian people to a state is the best way to isolate Hamas.

In an interview with Hebrew media on Thursday evening, the French president strongly criticized the military operations in the Gaza Strip, stating: "If the operation in the city of Gaza continues by government decision, we must discuss imposing sanctions."

Macron pointed out that the operations in Gaza "have resulted in a large number of casualties and injuries to the extent that they undermine the image of the occupation and its credibility" on the international stage.

The French president then shifted to discuss the situation in the West Bank, considering that the policy of building settlements there is clear evidence of the true intentions of the occupation.

He said: "Building settlements in the West Bank is evidence that the goal is not to dismantle Hamas but to eliminate the two-state solution," indicating that this policy directly undermines the chances of achieving a just and lasting peace in the region.

Macron emphasized several times during the interview his strategic vision for ending the conflict, asserting that the solution lies in the political path, not just the military one.

He confirmed by saying: "The right of the Palestinian people to a state must be recognized, and this is the best way to isolate Hamas," considering that providing Palestinians with real hope and a political path towards independence is the most effective way to withdraw support from armed factions and achieve security for all.

Have you lost your minds?

When Samer Sinijlawi and I announced the creation of the Alliance for Two States many of our Israeli and Palestinian colleagues thought that we have totally gone bonkers. How can you talk about a two states solution while the war is continuing in Gaza, when Israel is being accused of committing war crimes and genocide in Gaza, while Hamas still controls that Strip and they are still holding hostages? How could Israelis and Palestinians, deep in trauma and pain even consider that there might be an option of a future of peace between these two peoples? Israeli society is broken and in despair. Israelis talk about not having air to breath. The war goes on, Israelis keep showing up for duty and going to Gaza to fight a war that has no strategic end game other than keeping Netanyahu in power. Demonstrations against the war and the government take place every day but very few of protesters believe that they have any impact on their own government. The majority of Israelis want the war to end for the government to go home. But many Israelis are seriously talking about the possibility that elections in 2026 may not take place by governmental manipulation as Israel’s democracy seems to be withering away and divisions within society becoming more violent in words and in deeds.

The Prime Minister of Israel is speaking about Israeli being Sparta and living by the sword forever. His government is building new settlements every day. Israel is placing millions of Palestinians in cages throughout the West Bank with yellow gates being constructed on the entrances and exits of every Palestinian town, village, refugee camp and city. Israel is ethnically cleansing parts of the West Bank and making plans to annex all of the occupied territories. Smootrich is talking about concrete plans for mass evacuations of Gazans and building new towns for Israelis all along the Gaza coast.

Palestinians in the West Bank are broke and the economy of the Palestinian Authority is broke. The sense of desperation amongst Palestinians in the West Bank is felt in every district of the area. Almost no Palestinian have any confidence whatsoever in the Palestinian Authority and its leaders. In Gaza, almost every Gazan wants Hamas to be out of their lives forever and many wish that all Hamas leaders would simply die. Desperation doesn’t even begin to describe the feelings of millions of Gazans. They have no present and the future has no promise of anything better.

Both sides of this conflict share trauma, despair, anger and pain. Very few Israelis and Palestinians see any partner for peace on the other side. Peace is beyond imagination. Survival is the current mode – while it is clear that Israelis are struggling to survive much more metaphorically than Palestinians who struggle for survival is concrete and severe. Many Israelis and Palestinians tell me that I should forget about talking or thinking about peace for at least another generation. They say to me that it will never come in my lifetime. I am 69 years old and I have been hearing that I will never see peace in my lifetime since I was in my 20’s. I rejected it then and I reject it now. As we all watch the most horrible chapter of our lives unfold before our eyes, I say categorically that the war in Gaza must be the last Israeli-Palestinian war. We cannot and must not continue to do this to each other. Even when this war will end there will be about seven million Israeli Jews and seven million Palestinian Arabs living on the same land between the River and the Sea. That will not change – even if many Israelis and Palestinians, particularly young people dream about finding their future in some distant land.

It would be helpful if we had leaders on both sides that spoke openly about a different reality. It would be very helpful if there were more Palestinians like Samer who say with conviction that we Palestinians cannot deny the historic connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel. It would be wonderful if there were more Israelis like me who say with conviction that we Jewish Israelis cannot deny the historic connection of the Palestinian people to the land of Palestine. It would be enormously helpful if those voices came from political leaders and not just from civil society activists like us. For decades I have heard from thousands of Israelis and Palestinians the exact same statement: we want peace, but they don’t! Both sides have a perception of self that verbalizes their own desire to live in peace but note that there are no partners for peace on the other side. Both sides are justified in their assessment because what they live on a daily basis drive home dramatically the absence of partners for peace on the other side. No Israeli nor Palestinian can honestly say that their own side, their own leaders, their own society projects to the other side a true desire to live in peace. In the actions and words of many Israelis and Palestinians – particularly from people who call themselves leaders we have an overflowing of messages of we have the embodiment of only a conflictual narrative.

We, both sides in this conflict have educated the young generations to live by the sword, to perceive the other side as illegitimate, unequal in rights and in many cases having no legitimate claim for national existence on the same piece of land that both sides claim as their own. Our political arenas are devoid of significant leaders who stand up and paint a picture of the future of two states living side-by-side in peace. No one considers taking dramatic steps against the tide that have the power to change reality. No one challenges the untenable status quo of endless conflict, death and destruction, yet no one offers an alternative. Israelis and Palestinians don’t meet each other. The physical barriers, the abusive permit systems, the Palestinian anti-normalization campaign, and mutual fear have all succeeded in fostering a complete disconnect between Israelis and Palestinians and this has existed now for decades. It is very difficult to break out of the sense of despair, fear, anger, hatred and loss. Yet that is what we must do.

The international campaign to recognize the State of Palestine will not change the reality on the ground for Palestinians. They will continue to live under the harsh illegal Israeli occupation. But when some of Israel’s best friends recognize the State of Palestine and do so stating that it is an act of friendship towards Israel, there is a new message being delivered to the Israeli people. Recognition of Palestine is not a reward to Hamas terror and crimes, it is in fact a gift to Israel because it sets the path clearly forward for how to end this conflict. When the Saudis and other Arab and Muslim nations reaffirm the commitment that they made in 2002 in the Arab Peace Initiative to recognize Israel and make peace with Israel when there is a Palestinian state next to Israel, this is a gift to the people of Israel to help them to understand that Israel does not have to be Sparta – Israel can be part of a rapidly developing part of the world that it physically exists within but is not part of. Israel’s Arab neighbors are anxious to embrace Israel and to share with Israel the tremendous potential of the region, but they will not do that as long as Israel is at war with the Palestinian people and deny the Palestinian people the very same rights that it demands for itself.

You get what you give

I have been crossing borders from Jewish Israel into Palestinian Israel and into Palestine since 1978. That is a long time. I lived for two years in a Palestinian village in Israel from 1979-1981. Even back then, most Israeli Jews would ask me: aren’t you afraid? I would tell them that I don’t even have a lock on my door. During my two years living there I visited more than 500 homes. I was welcomed wherever I went. I showed my interest in those that I met and they reciprocated by showing their interest in me. I listened to their stories and asked a lot of questions. I didn’t always agree with their politics and often had respectful arguments and disagreements – but they were always focused on how do we create a better future for us all. I have visited almost every major town, city and refugee camp in the West Bank and many of the smaller villages as well. Before mid-2007, I visited Gaza many times and even slept over on occasion. During the 24 years that I co-directed IPCRI – Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information, I organized and ran more than 2000 joint Israeli-Palestinian working groups of professionals on every subject area that concerns the relations between the two sides. I worked with thousands of Israelis and Palestinians over the years and maintain contact with hundreds of them up to the present time.

I think that I have a better and deeper understanding of Palestinian society than most other Israeli Jews. I have always agreed to speak to anyone who was willing to speak with me – even when the zone of agreement between us was very small or even non-existent. I have come to understand that most Israelis and most Palestinians really do want to live in peace and most of them are prepared to make agreements that recognize the national rights of the other side. Every issue in conflict between Israel and Palestine can be resolved – I am entirely convinced of this. Our problem is that we have no starting point and no one to start it. The absence of leadership willing to take risks so that their people will have a chance to live in peace is devastating. In the court of history, our leaders on both sides will be found guilty of not acting in the best interests of their people. Those in Israel who can only talk about defense (which is usually a code word for offence) and those in Palestine who still talk about a viable option of armed struggle are criminally responsible for determining a continuation of death, destruction and despair.

But I don’t despair and I honestly believe that we are closer to heading in a new direction than most of us can perceive. The young generation of Israelis and Palestinians, while they may collectively seem more extreme than their parents will come to the conclusion that staying on the same path is futile. There are and will be more young people who will understand that we don’t have to waste our resources and our lives on fighting a conflict that can be resolved. What we need is the spark to light the fire of hope that will spread rapidly when people of courage on both sides stand together with the same message that mutual recognition of rights and a common desire to live in peace is what we must achieve. This is will be mutually reassuring message that will be heard over the noise of the militarists and those who promise us nothing but continued hatred and mutual fear.

It should be known that on July 9, 2025 Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas took on a commitment on behalf of the Palestinian people in a letter that he wrote to French President Macron and to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. This letter was unfortunately not published widely and most people don’t know of its contents. This is one more example of the failure of leadership of Mahmoud Abbas. But the contents of his letter should be the compass for Palestinians for moving forward. His words were a firm undertaking to France, Saudi Arabia and to all of those countries who are considering recognizing the State of Palestine.

Abbas wrote:

“The Palestinian people is not destined to live under occupation nor are we and the Israelis destined to be at war. We can live in peace and security, side by side, tomorrow if we make the right decisions today. We need to all take the necessary bold and unprecedented steps that set us on that path. I am determined to ensure we uphold our responsibilities and count on your help to mobilize the international community to uphold its own, and ensure Israel upholds its obligations. I hope the Israeli people will seize this opportunity for peace…

There can be no military solution to the conflict, and we reject violence and terrorism and denounce all attacks against civilians, whether Palestinians or Israelis. Israel has to bring to an immediate end its war and aggression against the Palestinian people and to withdraw fully from the Gaza Strip, and to release the Palestinian prisoners. What Hamas did on October 7th of killing and taking civilians hostage is unacceptable and condemnable and Hamas has to immediately release all hostages and captives…

We are ready to conclude within a clear and binding timeline, and with international support, supervision and guarantees, a peace agreement that ends the Israeli occupation and resolves all outstanding and final status issues, leading to an end of all claims, and the achievement of just and lasting peace based on the relevant United Nations resolutions, the Madrid terms of reference, including land for peace, and the Arab Peace Initiative…

The PLO has recognized the right of Israel to exist over 30 years ago, a recognition that binds the State of Palestine to this day, while Israel's recognition of the Palestinian State is long overdue…

The State of Palestine has adopted an ambitious reform agenda and has made meaningful progress in implementing it, revoking the law on payments to families of prisoners and martyrs and implementing a new social security system without discrimination.

We reiterate our constant demand for an international supervision over incitement and hate speech in statements, curriculum, and in official media by both sides.

We are also committed to the organization of presidential and general elections within a year to be conducted under international auspices, supervision and support. These elections will be inclusive and open solely, based on a new party legislation, to political forces and candidates that clearly accept the PLO political platform and the resolutions of international legitimacy and the principle of One State, One Government, One Law and One Gun.”

These words of the Palestinian President need to echoed by Palestinians all over because they represent the only real hope for rapid change. These words heard by Israelis spoken by Palestinians will have to power to change the current dynamic and perhaps some Israeli leaders will stand up an echo words of consent and agreement.

Our future is in the hands of our leaders by what they say and what they do and by what they do not say and what they do not do. We must demand from them – in Israel and in Palestine to change our course and to steer us in a new direction that may very well have the power to draw out the same new sentiments from people and leaders on the other side.

But first and foremost – we have to end this horrible war in Gaza. There is only one person in the world who can do that, and that is President Trump. We need for that to happen today.

UNRWA calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and the allowance of aid entry.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) renewed its call on Thursday for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for permission to deliver humanitarian aid.

UNRWA stated in a post on X platform, "Let us shift our focus in Gaza towards an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid."

Since March 2, Israel has closed the crossings leading to Gaza, preventing the entry of food supplies or humanitarian aid, which has plunged the region into famine despite relief trucks being piled up at its borders.

Israel sometimes allows the entry of very limited aid that does not end the famine, especially as most trucks are subjected to looting by gangs that the Gaza government claims are protected by Israel.

With U.S. support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,062 martyrs and 165,697 injured, most of whom are children and women, and a famine that has claimed the lives of 432 Palestinians, including 146 children.

The killing of two Israelis in a shooting incident near the Karama crossing.

Israeli Channel 12 announced the death of two Israelis in a shooting incident at the Allenby Bridge near the border with Jordan.

Channel 14 clarified that the suspect in this incident infiltrated in a truck carrying aid coming from Jordan and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of two Israelis.

The Israeli Army Radio revealed that the perpetrator of the attack at the Allenby Bridge was a retired Jordanian soldier who was driving a truck and carried out the shooting from point-blank range, as well as a stabbing attack, without providing further details.

The Jordanian Public Security announced the suspension of passenger movement across the King Hussein Bridge (referred to as Allenby by Israel) after it was closed from the other side.

Economic isolation threatens the occupation amid European calls for sanctions.

The war on the besieged Gaza Strip has placed the Israeli occupation in international economic isolation, especially after some countries halted trade or imported products from settlements.

The "Russian Strategic Center for Cultures" website published a report discussing the possibility of Israel facing economic isolation that includes trade restrictions and symbolic sanctions from European countries and other trading partners.

The site stated in its report that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued an unprecedented warning about the future of the Israeli economy, confirming that his country faces growing economic isolation that may force it to undertake a comprehensive restructuring of its economy and rely on a self-sufficiency model.

The "Times of Israel" newspaper quoted Netanyahu as saying during a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance in Jerusalem on September 15: "Israel is living in a state of isolation," noting that the government "may have to adopt an economy based on self-sufficiency and adapt to a new reality that reduces reliance on foreign trade."

The site adds that Netanyahu emphasized that the top priority will be ensuring Israel's defense readiness, warning of the possibility of imposing restrictions on defense cooperation with foreign partners: "We may face a situation where our defense sectors are banned, and we must develop these industries locally, not only in terms of research and development but also by having the capacity to produce what we need within the country."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed demographic shifts in Europe, considering that the increasing number of Muslims there drives some European politicians to adopt more hardline positions toward Israel, leading to restrictions on trade cooperation with it.

According to official data, the percentage of Muslims in Sweden, France, and Austria ranges between 8 and 9 percent, while it exceeds 6 percent in Germany and the UK, and reaches over 25 percent in Cyprus.

However, the criticisms directed at Israel are not limited to Muslims; a broad segment of European public opinion, including citizens of Jewish descent, also participates in them.

In recent months, the Gaza Strip has witnessed widespread destruction due to Israeli military operations, with estimates indicating that up to 90 percent of housing has been destroyed. Israel has also launched airstrikes targeting the territories of countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and Qatar, which has expanded the circle of international criticism.

This situation has even led the most moderate European politicians to warn that Israel has surpassed the stage of "self-defense" and moved to policies described as aggressive, leading to a "humanitarian disaster."

Bloomberg reported earlier this year that European countries, including Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and France, are considering imposing trade sanctions on Israel and restrictions on arms exports to it.

The site noted that Turkey has become the most prominent example cited by European politicians in their positions toward Israel, after Ankara took a series of escalatory economic steps against Tel Aviv.

Between October 7, 2023, and May 2, 2024, Turkey reduced its trade volume with Israel by about 30 percent.

On April 9, 2024, Ankara suspended the export of 1,019 goods to Israel covering 54 different categories.

Although Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced in the spring of 2024 that his country would completely halt trade with Israel, trade continued partially until the end of summer.

However, the Turkish stance escalated again on August 29 of this year, when Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced a complete cut in trade relations, stating: "We have closed our ports to Israeli ships, and we do not allow our ships to enter Israeli ports. I confirm that no other country has completely halted its trade with Israel as we have."

The site reported that Israeli airstrikes on Qatar on September 9 led to a new round of discussions within Europe about imposing sanctions on Tel Aviv.

During a session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on September 10, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that sanctions could be imposed on Israeli officials "who adopt extreme positions," as she put it.

She also announced, according to what was reported by the "Jerusalem Post," a "partial suspension" of the partnership agreement signed between the European Union and Israel in light of the situation in the Gaza Strip.

However, activating these sanctions requires the approval of at least 15 of the 27 EU member states, which may face political obstacles, as the newspaper indicated that ensuring this support is not guaranteed.

The site pointed out that despite the rising international criticism of Israeli policies, broad economic sanctions, such as disconnecting Israeli banks from the SWIFT system or freezing cash reserves or imposing a comprehensive ban on exports and imports, remain outside the realm of practical application at the moment.

Statistics: 740,000 citizens out of 2.1 million are located in the northern Gaza Strip.

The Central Bureau of Statistics stated that the number of citizens residing in the northern Gaza Strip as of 2025/09/16 is approximately 740,000 individuals out of 2.1 million individuals living in the Strip; which represents 35% of its population.

The "Statistics" added in a statement issued today, Thursday, that this number is subject to decrease at any time due to the ongoing fierce assault and forced displacement.

It pointed out that these figures also reflect a tragic picture of the structural changes that have affected the population distribution within the Strip, as the northern areas have transformed from being one of the main population centers to a renewed displacement hotspot, amid the absence of security and the lack of basic humanitarian services.

The "Statistics" noted that the northern governorates, as of October 7, 2023, included approximately 749,000 individuals in Gaza City, and about 444,000 individuals in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia. After January 2025, and with the return of some displaced individuals to their homes coinciding with the temporary ceasefire, estimates indicated the presence of more than one million residents/displaced individuals in densely populated tent areas, and in the remaining habitable buildings in the northern Strip.

It continued: Aerial images between September 4 and 15, 2025, showed that thousands of tents set up on empty lands among the ruins of Gaza City, along the coast, and in less developed areas in the north, have disappeared or significantly decreased in number.

Moreover, the large camps in the Sheikh Radwan, Beach, and Al-Rimal neighborhoods have almost vanished, reflecting the scale of the humanitarian disaster and exacerbating the displacement crisis. Despite some families' attempts to return to their original homes, the intensity of the attacks and ongoing invasion threats are pushing residents to be displaced again, making the population stability in the area extremely fragile and continuously changing.

The "Statistics" clarified that these estimates were based on actual data recorded before and during the aggression, in addition to supporting sources within the national statistical system, primarily Palestinian cellular communication companies, taking into account the severe instability affecting population movement.

An Israeli analyst says that the ground progress in the city of Gaza is slow and related to the pace of displacement.

An Israeli military analyst said on Thursday that the ground advance in the army's operation is proceeding slowly in the city of Gaza, significantly affected by the pace of Palestinian displacement from the city.

Doron Kadush, an analyst at the Israeli army radio, added that "the attacking divisions 162 and 98 are continuing to advance slowly from two directions."

For weeks, the Israeli army has intensified the bombing of residential towers and buildings in the city, in a policy aimed at forcing Palestinians to flee to areas in the southern Gaza Strip.

Kadush pointed out that "senior military officials refer to this phase as the reconnaissance phase."

He claimed that the army is "advancing gradually during this phase without penetrating deeply," alleging that Hamas fighters holed up in the heart of the city are retreating "without direct confrontation with the forces, as they study movement directions and plan further steps."

Kadush reported that "the scope of ground maneuvering is significantly affected by the pace of population evacuation," noting that the army delayed the entry of the 36th division for several days "due to the slow evacuation process."

He continued: "The 36th division was supposed to enter along with the first two divisions, but due to the slow evacuation, it was decided to postpone its entry, and with the increasing pace of evacuation, its joining is expected in the coming days."

The military analyst mentioned that the operations to displace Palestinians from the city "could have been expedited," pointing out that "sources in the defense establishment criticized the southern command for opening the coastal Rashid road only for evacuation, which caused traffic congestion that hindered the process, before another road was opened yesterday (referring to Salah al-Din Street)."

He claimed that "most of the fighters of the Gaza City Brigade affiliated with Hamas, about two-thirds, fled the city southward," heading to what he called "humanitarian areas in the southern Gaza Strip according to army estimates."

Regarding Hamas fighters, Kadush said that they "rarely roam in open areas; they are fortified, and many of them are underground waiting for Israeli army forces."

The Hebrew newspaper "Jerusalem Post" reported that the Israeli army stated that when the military operation against the city of Gaza began last month, its population exceeded one million, claiming that more than 400,000 people had been displaced after intense bombing targeted dozens of residential towers.

On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that it "has begun a ground invasion of the city of Gaza," but field evidence and local sources confirm that no ground incursion has occurred.

According to evidence and sources, the army is intensifying its artillery and aerial bombardment and demolitions using explosive robots, to terrorize Palestinians and force them to flee as part of a genocide and displacement war.

The Israeli government acknowledged on August 8 that it approved a plan proposed by Netanyahu to fully occupy the Gaza Strip, starting with the city of Gaza.

The army began its attack on the city on August 11, launching from the Zeitoun neighborhood (southeast), in an operation later dubbed "Gideon's Chariots 2," which included demolishing homes using explosive robots, artillery bombardment, random gunfire, and forced displacement.

With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in 65,141 deaths and 165,925 injuries among Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, and famine that claimed the lives of 432 Palestinians, including 146 children.

The Spanish public prosecutor opens an investigation into Israel's crimes in Gaza.

The Attorney General of Spain, Álvaro García Ortiz, announced that the authorities in Madrid have opened an investigation into whether the Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip constitute serious violations of international law.

The statement from the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office clarified that the investigation aims to determine whether Israel's actions could fall under the categories of genocide or crimes against humanity, as stipulated in Spanish criminal law.

The statement said, "The Attorney General has issued a decree to form a working group to investigate violations of international human rights law in Gaza," with the aim of "collecting evidence and making it available to the relevant authorities, thereby respecting Spain's obligations regarding international cooperation and human rights."

It added that "this initiative taken by the Spanish Public Prosecutor's Office comes in response to the recommendations of the report from the independent international commission of inquiry established by the United Nations regarding the Palestinian territories, which urges state parties to cooperate with the investigation being conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court."

The statement noted that this step aligns with Spain's international commitments and its support for the precautionary measures ordered by the International Court of Justice in the case brought by South Africa against the Israeli occupation authorities for committing genocide in Gaza.

The decision was based on the Organic Law of the Judiciary, which grants Spanish courts the authority to hear crimes committed outside their borders if the accused are present on Spanish territory or reside there.

In 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Spain is among the countries that joined the proceedings initiated by South Africa before the International Court of Justice, which accuses Israel of committing "genocide" in the Gaza Strip.

In May 2024, Spain recognized the Palestinian state, and other Western countries, including Britain, France, Australia, Canada, and Belgium, announced their intention to recognize Palestine during the upcoming meetings of the United Nations General Assembly this month.

Of the 193 member states of the United Nations, 149 countries recognize the Palestinian state declared by the Palestinian leadership in exile in 1988.

Among the celebrities are American singer Billie Eilish, and actors; Irish Cillian Murphy, American Joaquin Phoenix, and Spanish Javier Bardem.

The celebrities made their calls in a video shown before the 'Together for Palestine' event held in London on Wednesday, starting their words by mentioning the word 'Palestine.'

Actor Brian Cox, star of the series 'Succession,' said, 'We must tell the truth on behalf of the Palestinian people.'

British comedian Steve Coogan emphasized that 'it is important to raise your voice now, not after everything is over, now while events are happening.'

He added emphatically: 'Press your government, and support those who are conducting peaceful campaigns, demand a ceasefire, stop the killing.'

The video also featured Venus O'Connell, Penelope Cruz, Natasha Rothwell, Sharon Horgan, Benedict Wong, Peter Gabriel, Malala Yousafzai, and Ruby Kaur.

The event, which was streamed live online, raised donations allocated to organizations such as the Taawon Cooperation Association, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF), and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS).

Prisoners' Authority: The occupation implements a systematic policy against children to destroy their childhood during their detention and inside prisons.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated after its lawyer's visit to "Ofer" prison that the child detainees are living in extremely harsh detention conditions, lacking the most basic elements of human life, in a scene that reflects a systematic policy targeting Palestinian childhood and attempting to destroy its future.

The commission clarified in a statement issued today, Thursday, that the occupation is holding hundreds of children inside prisons, where they are thrown into overcrowded rooms and deteriorating environmental and health conditions, deprived of their right to education and medical treatment, and subjected to repeated physical and psychological assaults, in addition to the provocative policies of isolation and searches that are practiced against them daily.

It confirmed that the prison administration deliberately neglects their health conditions and deprives them of medical care, while providing them with poor meals, forcing them to live in an environment that threatens their physical and psychological growth. Many of them are also subjected to harsh interrogations and continuous coercion aimed at breaking their will.

Egyptian Foreign Minister: Gaza will remain alive despite the siege and aggression.

The Egyptian capital, Cairo, hosted a special event on Wednesday evening organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, titled "Egypt's Response to the Humanitarian Catastrophe: Together to Keep Gaza Alive." This was in honor of the prominent humanitarian role played by the Egyptian Red Crescent in supporting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel Aty, affirmed that: "Egypt has been at the forefront of countries leading the humanitarian response since the outbreak of the crisis in Gaza, having provided nearly 70 percent of the total aid that reached the sector."

He explained that: "The Rafah crossing remained open from the Egyptian side to allow for the entry of aid and the evacuation of the wounded, until Israel targeted the Palestinian side of the crossing, which prompted Cairo to redirect aid through the Kerem Shalom crossing despite Israeli restrictions."

He continued: "Let us work together to keep Gaza alive, whether some like it or not, and Israel, no matter how powerful it may be, will not be able to uproot this valiant and steadfast people from their land," emphasizing that: "What is happening in the sector amounts to crimes of genocide due to a manufactured famine and a comprehensive siege; and that the goal is displacement and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, which Egypt firmly rejects."

The minister also pointed out that: "Egyptian mediation is still ongoing to stop the bloodshed and reach a sustainable ceasefire," stressing that the political solution remains fundamental, through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.

For her part, the Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsi, clarified that: "Egypt's humanitarian efforts towards Palestine have been ongoing since 1948," noting that: "The Egyptian Red Crescent represents the national arm for delivering aid, thanks to a network of more than 35,000 volunteers."

Morsi added that: "Egypt has succeeded in delivering more than 570,000 tons of humanitarian aid since October 2023, including food, medicine, and medical supplies."

In the same context, the Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent, Amal Imam, presented a visual display about the volume and quality of aid and the mechanisms for delivering it, while the program included a documentary film documenting testimonies from Palestinians about the impact of Egyptian efforts. The event concluded with the honoring of several Egyptian Red Crescent volunteers, in recognition of their pivotal role in supporting Gaza in the most difficult humanitarian circumstances.
