Israeli laws to control the West Bank and the Palestinians of the interior
The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz reported, on Thursday, that the Israeli Ministerial Committee for Legislative Affairs will discuss, next Sunday, a draft law allowing the application of Israeli law to parks and archaeological areas in the West Bank.
The committee will also discuss another draft law stipulating that any student from inside Palestine who waves the Palestinian flag or expresses support for "terrorism" will be suspended from the academic institution in which he studies.
According to the newspaper, the bill, submitted by Likud member of Knesset Danny Danon, would authorize the Minister of the Interior to declare parks, nature reserves, and memorial and archaeological sites as "national sites" as is customary within the Green Line, and that violating them would constitute a crime punishable by 3 years in prison.
According to the newspaper, the ratification of such a law means the annexation of additional areas, which will allow the punishment of more Palestinians.
While the other bill was presented by a member of the Knesset from the “Jewish Power” party and settlement activist Limor Son Har Melch, which provides for the punishment of any student from the inside or occupied Jerusalem who raises the Palestinian flag inside universities, colleges or schools that fall under Israeli control, by depriving him of Studying either temporarily or completely or depriving them of obtaining an educational certificate for a period of 5 years.
