400 Israeli soldiers killed since the start of the incursion into the Gaza Strip

400 Israeli soldiers and officers have been killed since the start of the ground incursion into the Gaza Strip at the end of October 2023, according to Israeli military data.

The Israeli army spokesman announced on Saturday evening that 4 Israeli officers and soldiers were killed in battles with Palestinian resistance factions in the northern Gaza Strip.

Eight Israeli soldiers were injured, including three in critical condition, when an explosive device exploded in a building in Jabalia last Friday, the official Israeli radio reported on Sunday. Since the beginning of January, 13 officers and soldiers from the Israeli army and settlers have been killed on the battlefronts.

Channel 13 reported that 50 Israeli soldiers were killed, including 11 in Beit Hanoun, since the start of the operation in the northern Gaza Strip, more than 3 months ago.

Initial investigations into the killing of the four soldiers and officers in Beit Hanoun show that an Israeli military force moved in open Hummer vehicles on a road designated as a "back road" on the outskirts of Beit Hanoun, an area that the Israeli army estimates is devoid of fighters, and therefore the forces were not required to move in armored vehicles.

Israeli media reported that while the military vehicle was traveling on the road at around 10:00 a.m., a powerful explosive device was detonated on the Israeli force, and the explosive device exploded on the soldiers, resulting in the deaths of about 10, including 4 dead, 2 seriously injured, and 4 moderately injured.

According to the Israeli Army Radio, the military force that headed to the scene of the accident was the command room force of the deputy commander of the "Nahal" Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Shlomo Shiran, who was present at the scene of the accident, noting that he was not injured in the accident.

She stated that "the possibility is being examined that after the explosive device was activated, the force was also fired upon, and that it is likely that this is the same cell that ambushed them, detonated the same bomb and opened fire."

Israeli media reported that the Beit Hanoun attack was a double ambush that included a mine explosion and a shooting attack on the Israeli force, and the army is investigating the possibility that Hamas elements reached the site of the attack on the soldiers through a tunnel that has not yet been discovered.

It is noteworthy that since the Battle of "Al-Aqsa Flood" and during the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army has acknowledged to date the killing of 835 officers and soldiers, in addition to thousands of military wounded as a result of the war.
