The sick prisoners decide to suspend the strike move

Detainees' institutions confirmed that sick prisoners in the (Ramla prison clinic) decided to suspend the strike, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow for a period of three days, after agreeing to meet a number of their demands.


And the prisoners’ institutions stated in a joint statement that any new step in the steps of the sick prisoners later will depend on the implementation of what was agreed upon, and the completion of the dialogue on the rest of the demands.


She said, "The most important thing that was agreed upon was to allow a number of sick prisoners who were recently transferred to (Ramla clinic) to use the public phone and communicate with their families, including the prisoner Asif Al-Rifai, who suffers from cancer, as well as allowing the prisoner Walid Daqqa, if he is returned to Ramla, to use Public phone and contact with his family.


In addition to the issue of the public telephone, it was agreed to allow the representatives of the sick prisoners to communicate with the two prisoners, namely: the wounded Fatima Shaheen, who is in (Ramle) prison, and the prisoner, Ataf Jaradat, who was recently transferred from (Damoon) prison, to help and care for the wounded Fatima, as well as allow the entry of a quantity Clothes for all sick prisoners every three months, and meeting their demand related to food, specifically related to the quality of food provided to the two prisoners.


It is noteworthy that the sick prisoners had announced the start of a hunger strike, starting tomorrow for a period of three days, in protest against the harsh conditions of their detention, and the neglect of the prison administration over the past period to meet a number of their demands.
